Mamdani Mocked The Jews’ Solemn Tisha B’Av Observation

Milli Sands - American Thinker

"New York’s Jewish community does not require lectures on resiliency from a mayor whose allies and personal circle treat Jewish national restoration as original sin." . . .

The Roman Destruction of Jerusalem by David Roberts (edited).

. . . "The sequence is revealing. Condemnation first; ceremonial greeting second.

"Tisha B’Av is not a generic day of Jewish resilience. It mourns the Babylonian destruction of the First Temple in 586 BCE and the Roman destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE, the loss of Jewish sovereignty in the Land of Israel, and the ensuing exiles. The fast exists because a Jewish nation governed Jerusalem, built its central sanctuary there under Jewish political authority, and lost both through conquest.

"Solomon’s First Temple was built in the 10th century BCE within the United Monarchy of Israel. The Second Temple was rebuilt when Jews returned to the land after the Babylonian exile and was later expanded it under Herodian rule.

"Both constructions presuppose organized Jewish political control, independent governance, and national existence in the land millennia before Muhammad. This is not modern Zionist invention; it is the historical premise of the holiday itself. By publicly recognizing Tisha B’Av, Mamdani necessarily acknowledged Jewish sovereignty in Jerusalem—the very principle his record repeatedly undermines.

"Mamdani is a practicing Shia Muslim who took the mayoral oath on Qurans. His political pattern is consistent: he has treated Israel’s existence as a Jewish state as illegitimate, refused to condemn “Globalize the Intifada,” became the first New York mayor in six decades to skip the Israel Day Parade, and revoked the city’s adoption of the IHRA working definition of antisemitism on day one.

"His greeting carefully omits Jerusalem, the Temples, exile, and sovereignty, reducing the day to vague “history and resiliency.” That flattening allows the speaker to claim moral credit while rejecting the logical implications of what is being remembered." . . .

NYC mayor Mamdani faces backlash over 'Israel not a place' remarks

. . . "That honor goes to the underlying narrative of “Palestine,” which Mamdani and his followers defend with fervor and without curiosity.

"The Bible refers to Israel thousands of times as both a nation and a homeland. “Palestine,” on the other hand, was invented by Greco-Roman colonialists, and instituted by Hadrian to replace the indigenous name Judea, identified with the Jews he was driving out.

"The “Palestinian” flag flown at rallies is derived from that of the Arab Revolt of 1916, representing no new identity, but the Jihadists’ dream of a unified Arab kingdom from Syria to Yemen. Old administrative maps of the British Mandate, and similar bureaucratic charts dating back hundreds of years, are exploited to rewrite the historical record of the land they depict.

"The history of the region called Palestine is real — and overwhelmingly Jewish. " . . .

Bruce Springsteen slammed by fellow rockers for 'dissing his own country'

 UK Daily Mail

'Bruce, I mean, what the heck? I used to like him, and now he's just annoying. He's an annoying, bitter old man.'

When Barack Obama opened his presidential library in Chicago last month, Bruce Springsteen was among those he invited to play at the celebratory concert.

"After years of the singer endorsing Democrats here was a former president returning the favor. It's not the first time Obama has smiled upon The Boss.

"In December 2009, the songwriter was summoned to the White House, where Obama showered him with praise. The 'quiet kid from Jersey' was, in the words of the president, 'the rock 'n' roll laureate of a generation.' His songs spoke to the souls of 'hardworking folks,' with paeans to 'dreams and despair, struggle and hope.'

"'His tours are not so much concerts but communions,' said Obama. 'When he rocked the National Mall before my inauguration, I thought it captured as well as anything the spirit of what America should be about. On a day like that, and today, I remember that I'm the president, but he's The Boss.'

"The fact that he's The Boss, and not a politician is, Springsteen's critics say, something he has forgotten. His fellow 76-year-old rocker, Jonathan Cain who plays guitar and keyboard with Journey is just one of several high-profile rockers to have called Springsteen out for his political rants and tedious preaching on stage.

"'Bruce, I mean, what the heck? I used to like him, and now he's just annoying. He's an annoying, bitter old man.'

"For Cain, it seems, The Boss has become The Bore." . . .  More...

DSA is not in America’s DNA

"Democrats are in trouble and they don't know how to get out."

Don Surber

"Fried is right because by letting the communist DSA wag the blue dog, Democrats are not going to win over the 2.5 million people who escaped communist regimes in Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela. They make up almost 10% of the state’s population."

"Democrats have a poison called DSA—Democrat Socialists of America—a communist organization that made Mamdani mayor of New York, New York. If communism can make it there, it will make it anywhere, right?
"But Democrat officials know voters are rejecting it—for now.
"This week, WPLG in South Florida asked the party’s chairman, Nikki Fried, “How is this conversation between your front running gubernatorial candidates who are very centrist, very moderate Democrats, and some of the party’s real progressive Democrats who are running against them, looking for attention, and kind of have a national wave at their back?”
"Fried replied, “You nailed it on the head. Florida’s different. The coalitions that have to be built here in Florida are different. You know, we have hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people that call Florida home, that left communists and socialist and authoritarian regimes to find a better way of life here in the state of Florida. And for any candidate that wants to win here in our state, regardless of where they are in the partisan agenda, they have to build a coalition.
"'That means that coalition has to be Democrat, Republican, and independent, and to take the values of those of us here in the state of Florida. We are different and we attest to the candidates that have been showing up and winning here in the state of Florida.
'“They are building that coalition because they’re authentic. They’re hearing the issues that are on the ground. They’re knocking on those doors. They’re talking to the voters. They’re hearing that the pain and the suffering and the concern and the scared of so many people that they’re talking to on an everyday basis.
'“So, we’re building that coalition and every part of our nation is different and Florida is certainly a different beast when it comes to politics. The coalition is different here in the state of Florida and I have confidence in the voters of my primary that they’re going to pick candidates that are going to be able to win in a general election.” . . .

"Unfortunately, Fox appears to be alone in asking Democrats about the DSA’s platform. The rest of the news media are, apparently, happy to help the DSA hide its agenda … until it’s too late."  I&I Editorial Board
Why Are Dems Dodging Questions About The DSA’s Radical Platform? – Issues & Insights  . . . "When Fox asked Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez if she supported the DSA’s call to eliminate the Senate, her barely coherent response was:

“I mean, again, I’m not running for uh, for, any larger office presently. That is, of course, a constitutional question. Um, and I … that, that’s a constitutional question.”

"When asked again if she supported getting rid of the Senate as an institution, AOC mumbled about how “I don’t support elements of the institution that were founded on, uh, on Jim Crow.”...   It must be Joy Reid we have to thank for bringing back to life the meme "Jim Crow". TD

Obama Center has lofty DEI goals, now minority contractor is suing in $40M racially charged lawsuit

"Obama Center" implies more than it should, unfortunately. Mr. Obama is not a party to the suit, but a major contractor is. TD

Fox News

"The construction issues were all unequivocally driven by the underperformance and inexperience of the concrete subcontractor," the memorandum states.

"Construction of former President Barack Obama's long-awaited library and museum in Chicago began with ambitious plans for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) but is now plagued by huge cost overruns, delays and a $40.75-million, racially charged lawsuit filed by a minority contractor.

"From the outset, the endeavor touted DEI as a key part of enshrining Obama's legacy at the 19.3-acre site, where costs have ballooned from an initial $350 million to $830 million in 2021 based on its previous annual reports, with no publicly available figures available for updated projected costs. The project set out "ambitious goals" for certain construction diversity quotas, with its contracts to be allocated to "diverse suppliers," 35% of which were required to be minority-based enterprises (MBEs).

"'With these aggressive goals, the foundation is hoping to set a new precedent for diversity and inclusion in major construction projects in Chicago and beyond," the Obama Foundation wrote in a 2017 press release." . . .  More...

Obama Center subcontractor shuts down amid $4M fight, lays off 25

"Owen said he was not accusing former President Barack Obama of personal responsibility but believes the foundation should publicly acknowledge the subcontractors’ complaints and help seek a resolution."

 Obama library sued by contractor

. . . "The Obama Presidential Center, located in Jackson Park, Chicago, is a 19.3-acre campus including a museum, library, community spaces, and a basketball facility. The project, overseen by the Obama Foundation, opened its museum portion in June 2026, with construction costs ballooning from initial estimates of $300–500 million to approximately $850 million
