The house-of-cards case against Daniel Penny is falling apart

With so much evidence that Penny was indeed protecting himself and others, and that other factors likely contributed to Neely’s death, Bragg’s decision to prosecute looks like pure politics. 

"On Friday, the defense rested in the Daniel Penny trial, leaving many observers to ask what Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was thinking in pursuing this case.

"Over the course of the second-degree manslaughter trial, Bragg’s prosecutors tried to sell the narrative that the Marine vet overreacted and behaved “recklessly” when he restrained Jordan Neely on that F train back in May 2023.

"But a host of prosecution witnesses, Penny’s fellow passengers, knocked massive holes in that tale, as one after another veteran subway rider described how terror-stricken they felt while trapped in the train car with the angry, unstable, threatening Neely.

"One woman said she “was scared s–tless” by Neely’s behavior and recalled him yelling: “I don’t give a damn. I will kill a motherf—er. I’m ready to die.”

"She stuck around after the ordeal to thank Penny for defending her and everyone else in the car that day.

"Another, a high school student, said she was “so nervous” that she feared she “was going to pass out,” and said she didn’t hear other passengers’ warning to Penny to let go of Neely during the struggle.

"A third said Penny restrained Neely “so he wouldn’t attack anybody” — more proof that Penny was selflessly acting on behalf of others and a direct blow to lefty claims that his actions were racially motivated.

"In short, the prosecution case offered up plenty of evidence that Penny acted rationally and bravely in a harrowing situation.

"And the defense started off with a bang.

"On Thursday, forensic pathologist Dr. Satish Chundru testified that Penny’s chokehold wasn’t what killed Neely, but instead “the combined effects of sickle-cell crisis, the schizophrenia, the struggle and restraint, and the synthetic marijuana.”" . . .

Alvin Bragg needs to drop the Trump case and go after the real criminals on the streets. You know, the ones terrorizing "bodegas" and women in the subway. Go after them because the Trump case is over no matter you try to keep it around.

. . ."Again, Alvin is saving face. He doesn't know how to get out of the hole or help Judge Juan Merchan out of his hole, either. It's tough, but maybe the new Trump AG can text him something about seeing the Bragg-Mercham duo in federal court for such disregard for the rule of law.

....The reason for the quiet response from Washington appears to me to be an intentional effort to keep Americans uninformed about this war which is now on an escalation ladder that is getting close to the point of no return, if it hasn’t already reached that point. When it hits that point, nuclear war is inevitable and nobody will be able to stop it, not even Donald Trump.

In 2017, Monterey, California, police investigated an allegation made by a married woman [Jane Doe] who claimed Pete Hegseth sexually assaulted her at a political event, but they found no evidence to support her claims. Hegseth claimed the encounter was consensual.

Video footage appears to show a consensual encounter. Video footage also appears to show that it was Hegseth and not the accuser who was slightly intoxicated while the accuser did not appear impaired at all from video footage.

The accuser’s story also fell apart when she refused to answer her husband’s phone calls that night and then discussed an alabi with Hegseth before she went back to the hotel room where her husband was waiting for her. The woman told her husband the same story that she discussed with Hegseth before she left him.

Eliminating Biden’s EV mandate

"The decision to jettison the EV subsidy, first reported by Reuters, came as no surprise, seeing as how Trump campaigned on ending President Joe Biden’s EV mandate. Throughout the Biden administration, a substantial push was made to transition from conventional gasoline-powered automobiles to EVs.

"The $7,500 EV subsidy was one of the more notable measures of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which many argued was yet another example of the federal government picking winners and losers.

"Moreover, another report from Reuters details how the incoming administration plans on addressing the standards on fuel-efficiency requirements and emissions finalized earlier this year by the U.S. National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency. This move would counteract Biden’s regulations that require all automakers to shift at least 35 percent of their production to EVs by 2032.

"Critics of Biden’s aggressive actions regarding the automobile industry have called it a “rush-to-green agenda” and highlight the fact that it forces Americans to purchase expensive, impractical, and unpopular EVs.

"Furthermore, in January of this year, a coalition of nearly 5,000 car dealerships sent a letter to Biden urging him to “hit the brakes” on his draconian regulations and mandates. Despite the public pushback, Biden’s emissions standards rule was ultimately finalized.

"While Biden’s EV mandate and lavish subsidies have wrought havoc in the auto industry, it has also affected the dependability of the U.S. energy grid.
