Have you ever wondered if anyone in Europe remembers America's sacrifice in World War II? There is an answer in a small town in the Czech Republic.(Broken link replaced)

Many people still go to this site, but I found the link no longer any good. We apologize and hope these will help those who were frustrated in previous searches. Scroll down for more related links.

New Link  "God Bless Pilsen; ...."Every five years Plzen conducts the Liberation Celebration of the City of Pilsen in the Czech Republic. May 6th, 2010 marked the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Pilsen by General George Patton's 3rd Army. Pilsen is the town that every American should visit. Because they love America and the American Soldier..." Memorable pictures and description. Hat tip to Ron Gazda, Texas.

Remembering the liberation of Plzen, sixty years on  " "Vladimir Palek from the mayor's office in Plzen says that under communism people were fed with myths, aimed at distorting and playing down the 3rd Army's role. The museum, he says, will help to unravel some of these myths.
"They said that no American soldiers died in West Bohemia, and we know it is not true. There are many dozens of Americans who died. They really fought, and we try to show it." "
