Harris has endorsed other controversial topics. Late last year, Harris compared the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency to the Ku Klux Klan.

"Sen. Kamala Harris announced one month ago that she’s running for president, and her own father is already turning on her.
"Earlier this month, Harris said during an interview that she attributed her support for smoking marijuana to her Jamaican heritage.
"Donald Harris, the Senator’s father, is a Stanford University economics professor emeritus. In a statement to Jamaica Global Online, he slammed his daughter for pushing “identity politics” and said her grandparents are “turning in their graves.”
“ 'My dear departed grandmothers (whose extraordinary legacy I described in a recent essay on this website), as well as my deceased parents, must be turning in their grave right now to see their family’s name, reputation and proud Jamaican identity being connected, in any way, jokingly or not with the fraudulent stereotype of a pot-smoking joy seeker and in the pursuit of identity politics,” the professor wrote in the statement.
“ 'Speaking for myself and my immediate Jamaican family, we wish to categorically dissociate ourselves from this travesty,” he added." . . .
