Useful Idiots

What is a Useful Idiot?  I never get tired of explaining this.

Ann Coulter vs. Bill Kristol: Beginnings of a Conservative Schism?

Politics Daily "Until now, there has been somewhat of an unspoken rule, adhered to by most on the right, that conservative Republicans would vigorously oppose Obama's liberal domestic policies while supporting his efforts to win in Afghanistan. After all, Republicans had staunchly backed George W. Bush when he made the case for fighting al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. Changing course now would seem craven -- playing politics with national security. And so, in foreign policy, Obama was criticized from the right only when he appeared to be showing weakness, not when he displayed toughness."
The length of this war is not of our choosing; we will be fighting al Qaeda and their allies for the next few decades somewhere as long as they want to kill Americans wholesale. Israel's half-century struggle against those who desire to wipe them off the face of the earth is certainly not Israel's choice.
Presently we are fighting them in a region that has nuclear weapons terrorists would love to possess.

The Ground Zero mosque; a contrary view

American Thinker "For Americans to publicly shame and censure the proponents of the mosque project is appropriate, for it is a truly tasteless and shameless act;, but to try and use the power of the STATE to prevent the shameless display is EXACTLY what the government of a [third] world dictatorship would do."  Arthur Koenig  This is what you called reasoned, non-political debate.

This is how the brilliant one thinks?

American Thinker "This elitist who's "brilliance" is continually touted by the Main Stream Media, is incapable of thinking that those who either disagree or distrust him could possibly have any reason beyond his middle name or the pigmentation of his skin."

Israelis Are Racists, and Besides, Some of My Best Political Hacks Are Jews  "And given his lack of sympathy for the Jewish state, one wonders just how much advanced notice would be advisable for Israel to give to the U.S. if it were compelled to attack Iran because the U.S. refuses to do so." Jennifer Rubin

Elena Kagan’s ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’ Sharia Policy

Andrew C. McCarthy "I wonder if Elena Kagan knows about Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani.  Ms. Ashtiani is about to be stoned. That’s where they bury you up to your chest and hurl rocks at you until you die." ...."During her a stint at the Clinton White House, we now know, Ms. Kagan struck the pose of a champion of women’s rights — at least if you weren’t an unborn girl. So fierce was her devotion to the cause of “reproductive freedom” that she subverted science in the service of abortion on demand — specifically, to preserve the partial-birth abortion procedure, which exceeds even stoning in its ghastliness. She then went on to Harvard Law School where, as dean, she became the champion of sharia."

The Obama-Pelosi Lame Duck Strategy

WSJ  "That's why there have been signs in recent weeks that party leaders are planning an ambitious, lame-duck session to muscle through bills in December they don't want to defend before November. Retiring or defeated members of Congress would then be able to vote for sweeping legislation without any fear of voter retaliation." John Fund.

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." - Thomas Jefferson  Via Boortz.

Wall Street Bails Out on Obama

Townhall  "In all of Barack Obama's campaign speeches, you would have to search high and low to find him blaming buyers who bought a home that was beyond their means, buyers who made no down payment or buyers who lied about their income. He never blamed the reckless use of adjustable-rate mortgages that contained interest rates that would soon be beyond their means. " Donald Lambro is chief political correspondent for The Washington Times.

States Fight Back Against Federal Tyranny and Abuse

David Limbaugh "If that isn't bad enough, get this: It extends way beyond road projects. The logos are also being required, for example, on police and fire vehicles acquired by cities in part with stimulus funds.
States are also fighting back through their state officials. Arizona state Sen. Russell Pearce is incensed over the Obama administration's "outrageous" and bogus lawsuit against the state of Arizona over its perfectly legitimate effort to protect its border and citizens. ...
"... It's outrageous, what (the administration is) doing. This is about an agenda. This is a president that is acting like a dictator. This is a president who is ignoring the rule of law and siding with lawbreakers over the citizens of this country and the citizens of this state while damage is being conducted every single day. Every single day!" "

Judges Reject White House's Drilling Ban Request

WSJ   "The three-judge panel ruled that Interior Secretary Ken Salazar didn't prove the U.S. would suffer irreparable harm without an immediate ban on exploratory drilling in deep waters."The secretary has failed to demonstrate a likelihood of irreparable injury if the stay is not granted," reads the panel's decision, issued late Thursday shortly after the panel heard arguments from both sides in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans." Gibbs mocks conservative reporter, White House reporters laugh

Hot Air "Of course, Obama and Gibbs want to keep this dirty little secret a secret. The argument against Obamacare rationing put forward by Ryan is exactly what Obama was trying to ignore by bypassing the Senate and giving Berwick a recess appointment."

Court refuses stay in deepwater drilling case

Yahoo "U.S. appeals court on Thursday rejected the Obama administration's request to stay a lower court decision to lift a six-month moratorium on deepwater oil drilling in the wake of the BP Plc oil spill. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, based in New Orleans, ruled about an hour after hearing arguments."
