Ex-N.Y. Times editor carries Obama doll in purse as therapy

WND
'You have to take comfort where you can find it in Donald Trump's America'

Does she pray to it? TD

"A former New York Times executive editor has a secret some might consider bizarre or even a bit creepy: She keeps a plastic Barack Obama doll in her purse as therapy to get her through the Trump presidency.
"Jill Abramson, a 63-year-old Harvard-educated journalist, made the admission in a March 7 opinion piece for the London Guardian headlined “Are we seeing signs of a Democratic wave in the primaries?”
“ 'It’s easy to look at what’s happening in Washington, D.C., and despair,” wrote Abramson, who was the executive editor at the Times from 2011 to 2014. “That’s why I carry a little plastic Obama doll in my purse. I pull him out every now and then to remind myself that the United States had a progressive, African American president until very recently. Some people find this strange, but you have to take comfort where you can find it in Donald Trump’s America.”

"Radio host Rush Limbaugh opined: “Remember, they hype themselves as, ‘We’re journalists. We are not activists.’ B.S. She just confirmed that while running the New York Times she was actually just nothing more than a very high-powered, highly placed Democrat Party operative disguised as an editor at the New York Times. Carrying around an Obama doll? And besides what it means in terms of her biases and so forth. What does it say? A grown woman admitting proudly that in her moments of deepest depression and stress, she opens her purse to pull out an Obama doll, which means that it’s in there all the time.
“ 'Her Obama doll is right next to the lipstick. Her Obama doll is right next to the skin cleanser, the fabric softener, whatever else is in there. An adult needing to see an Obama doll to be able to get through the day?' ” . . .

Adam Schiff, like Hillary, just won't give it up

Adam Schiff Gets Cold Feet On Russia, Loses Confidence In Mueller

Adam Schiff finally gets cold feet on Russia, starts back peddling his confidence in Mueller

Golden shower? Trump dossier authors doubt their most explosive allegation  . . . "But now there is new reporting to suggest the dossier's creators had serious doubts about the veracity of the "golden showers" story from the very beginning. Despite those doubts, dossier author Christopher Steele included the "golden showers" account in his collection of anti-Trump intelligence, and the dubious charges set off a series of events that changed the course of the Trump-Russia investigation." . . .

Updated: "Hillary’s Back from the Dead; She Should Have Stayed Buried"...

UPDATE:  Hillary Clinton Fractures Wrist After Slipping In India Resort Bathtub  . . . "The website reported that Clinton was taken to a hospital in the city of Jodphur at around 5 a.m. local time Wednesday. Clinton underwent an X-ray and a CT scan that confirmed a hairline fracture of her right wrist." . . .

Now back to our regular program in progress:

". . . Clinton Pity Memorial Tour"

Shawn Mitchell  "Shocking news. The most fatally flawed presidential candidate in American history was reincarnated last week in India to do an encore comedy routine about her political corpse. Hillary Clinton explained the female problems that caused her unexpected political demise in backwards America to a presumably liberated, progressive, and sexually equal audience in Mumbai at the India Today Conclave. The bewildered Indians probably couldn’t comprehend the primitive sexism they were hearing about:

"Women candidates, explained the famed political scientist, “don’t do well with married, white women. And part of that is an identification with the Republican Party, and a sort of ongoing pressure to vote the way that your husband, your boss, your son, whoever, believes you should.”

"Back in the US, the Clinton Pity Memorial Tour produced bipartisan criticism. According to the Congressional newspaper The Hill, Democrats and Republicans alike called her words “cringe worthy,” “absurd,” “annoying and wrong.” “Who lets her say these things?” one former Clinton surrogate wondered.

"You might think reviews like that would quickly shush Clinton and her institutional defenders. You would be wrong because you would underestimate the iron grip identity politics has on the Left. “Like it or not, studies suggest that Clinton may not be wrong on white women voting like their husbands” bellowed Washington Post columnist Eugene Scott." . . .

Confirmed: Hillary still is Bitter, Tone-Deaf, hates The Deplorables, and is not well  Ever the uniter, loving America and it's people, she expounds:
There’s all that red in the middle, where Trump won. Now, I win the coasts, I win Illinois, Minnesota, places like that. But what the map doesn’t show you is that I won the places that represent two-thirds of America’s gross domestic product. So I won the places that are optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving forward, and his whole campaign, Make America Great Again, was looking backwards. “You don’t like black people getting rights, you don’t like women getting jobs, you don’t want to see that Indian-American succeeding more than you are, whatever your problem is, I’m going to solve it.
Democrats, Former Aides Not Pleased With Hillary’s Recent Comments
. . . "2016 Hillary surrogate: “She’s annoying me. She’s annoying everyone, as far as I can tell.”
. . . "No, Hillary. I didn’t vote for you because you’re a horrible person and candidate."

Guess Who Oakland’s Mayor Was Talking To Before Tipping Off Illegal Aliens To ICE Raid

Hot Air  . . . "In emails we obtained through a public records request, we didn’t find out who her sources were, but we do know who she was talking to before she made her big announcement.

"Emails reveal that hours before the announcement, a group called Centro Legal de la Raza sent the mayor information on what employers should do in case of an ICE raid.
"Centro Legal is a non-profit that provides legal services to undocumented immigrants.
"Those contacts don’t appear to be random. This report shows that more than one year ago St. Jarlath Catholic Church was working with Centro Legal de la Raza, hosting workshops for illegal aliens where they learned how to prepare for deportation efforts. As for Oakland Community Organizations, their primary focus appears to be supporting sanctuary state policies and obstructing ICE.

"The Mayor was also apparently in indirect contact with the Oakland Indie Alliance, a coalition of local, independent businesses. CBS reports that the group received a frantic message in the hours before the Mayor’s announcement saying, “Important Alert! Credible information ICE Raids in Oakland Sunday 2/25 and Monday 2/26” and “This information comes directly from the Mayor.” Given that this is a group of employers who are in the same communications loop with the Mayor and the aforementioned supporters of illegal aliens, it doesn’t require much detective work to figure that part out." . . .

Saudi will develop a nuclear bomb if Iran does, Crown Prince warns as he likens regime's leader to Hitler

UK Daily Mail   ' 'Saudi Arabia does not want to acquire any nuclear bomb, but without a doubt if Iran developed a nuclear bomb, we will follow suit as soon as possible,' Salman told CBS in an interview that will air on Sunday.

"The comment came after he was asked about remarks in which he described Khamenei as 'the new Hitler of the Middle East'.

"Salman said he stood by the remark, adding: '[Khamenei] wants to expand."

" 'He wants to create his own project in the Middle East very much like Hitler who wanted to expand at the time.

"'Many countries around the world and in Europe did not realize how dangerous Hitler was until what happened, happened.

"'I don't want to see the same events happening in the Middle East.' "

Disneyland is removing a scene of brides being auctioned off from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and replacing it with a female pirate selling loot

UK Daily Mail  "Disneyland will be removing a scene of captive women being auctioned off as brides from its Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

"The ride will be closing on April 23 so the Anaheim theme park can remove the infamous scene, reported the Orange County Register.

"When the ride reopens around June 7, a new animatronic scene instead will feature a female pirate auctioning off loot.

"Since 1967, guests have ridden on one of the ride's small boats through several pirate-themed scenes before coming upon the bride auction.

. . . Above them is a sign that reads: 'Auction: Take a Wench for a Bride' and a rope-tied, redheaded woman, in a pink dress and matching hat, is up for bid when patrons arrive.
'Hey, are you selling her by the pound?' a pirate is heard yelling, while an auctioneer commands: 'Shift yer cargo, dearie, show 'em your larboard side.' " . . .

Secret Debate Tip for GOP

CBS’s Stahl is either an ideologue, intentionally painting a picture that is the polar opposite of the truth by implying that students of color are the true victims here — or else she is so stupid and untutored in the subject that she has no business reporting on it. I could go either way. Your choice. (We need an expression for this sort of broadcast. Something like … FAKE NEWS!)

Ann Coulter  "On CBS’s “60 Minutes” Sunday night, Lesley Stahl asked Education Secretary Betsy DeVos about the “institutional racism” in school discipline.
"It was like neither of them had ever heard of Nikolas Cruz. The Parkland, Florida, school shooter is our most recent case study of what happens when liberals start babbling about “institutional racism.”
"There’s never been such an incredible paper trail as there is with Cruz, leading straight from idiotic liberal ideas directly to mass murder. We know that Broward County Public Schools knew about Cruz’s felonies. We know that his behavior wasn’t reported because it would negatively impact the record of a student of color. The school district bragged about the policy.
"Perhaps having no criminal record would have helped Cruz get a good job someday. But it is a fact that one of the consequences of not reporting his crimes was that HE COULD GET A GUN.
"Unless liberals are going to say that guns had nothing to do with the Parkland shooting, it was the racial bean-counting in school discipline that unleashed this psychotic on innocent students and teachers at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School four weeks ago.
"Stahl treated as cold hard fact the idea that schools punish “students of color more harshly than their white classmates,” citing this real-world example: . . .
One kid was “disruptive” by punching and strangling a science teacher, John Ekblad, giving him a concussion and permanent brain injuries. The African-American student walked away from Ekblad’s body splayed out on the floor, saying, “Did you see me slam that white-ass teacher?”
. . . "A kid expelled from high school is twice as likely to end up in prison!
"Yeah, because he’s a thug. He’s a thug when he’s in high school and he’s a thug a few years later, when he’s an adult." . . .

America Is the Best Place in History for Racial Minorities

What kind of lie must a person embrace to flee to a peaceful, prosperous country whose people treat him generously and beautifully and not think he is lucky to live there? Dennis Prager
Dennis Prager

"At the City College of New York in the late 1930s, my father, an Orthodox Jew, wrote his senior class thesis on anti-Semitism in America.
"He delineated common realities of the era, such as Jews’ admission to law firms, country clubs and colleges being denied or restricted, and various other manifestations of popular and institutional anti-Semitism.
"Yet he taught his two sons—my older brother and me—to believe that we, as Americans, were the luckiest Jews in Jewish history.
"With the obvious exception of Jews living in Israel, he was right. I can state this with some authority, having written a book on anti-Semitism and taught Jewish history at Brooklyn College.
"Despite the existence of anti-Semites and anti-Semitism in America, American Jews are indeed among the luckiest Jews in Jewish history. Even with the re-establishment of a Jewish state in the land of Israel, many more Israeli Jews have moved to America than American Jews have moved to Israel.
"This is not a reflection on Israel, which is a country with a high quality of life that is an unparalleled blessing in Jewish life; rather, it is a reflection on America and how good it is for Jews." . . .

Mike Pompeo Has What Rex Tillerson Didn't: 'Killer Graphics' and Trump's Trust

Political Cartoons by Chip Bok

Time  "Not much is predictable about President Donald Trump’s White House. But around 11 a.m. on any given day, you would likely find CIA chief Mike Pompeo in the Oval Office, briefing the commander-in-chief. For 30 minutes or so, Pompeo would help Trump digest the country’s most closely held secrets about the world’s most pressing conflicts. He used “killer graphics” to keep Trump on point. He carved out time for general “knowledge building” on long-term strategy. He fielded Trump’s questions on any number of topics.

"In other words, long before Trump’s announcement Tuesday morning on Twitter that Pompeo is replacing Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State, Pompeo, a former congressman, was doing what Tillerson had not — bonding with the first American president never to have served either in politics or the military. When Trump and his advisers gather for their national security policy meetings in the Situation Room, Trump goes around the table. First, Pompeo offers Trump the CIA’s latest analysis on the issue at hand, says a senior administration official. Then, he waits. Inevitably, Trump returns to his top spy. “Mike,” the Trump asks, “what do you think I should do?” . . .

Behar Responds to Pence’s Call to Publicly Address Remarks Disparaging Christians: ‘I Sincerely Apologize’

"The View" co-host Joy Behar publicly apologized Tuesday for her remarks that Vice President Mike Pence had a "mental illness" because of his Christian faith, saying she fell short of respecting all religions.
"Behar made the remarks in February after former White House aide Omarosa Marigault Newman disparaged Pence during a reality show appearance, mocking him for thinking Jesus spoke to him.
" 'Like I said before, it's one thing to talk to Jesus. It's another thing when Jesus talks to you," Behar said. "That's called mental illness, if I'm not correct. Hearing voices."
"She later said she was joking, but Pence said the remarks were "wrong" and it was later revealed by Disney CEO Bob Iger that she telephoned Pence to express contrition for her comments.
"Pence praised her for reaching out, but he told Fox News host Sean Hannity Monday he hoped she would make a public statement to the "tens of millions of Americans" who were offended by her comments.
" 'The View" played the clip of Pence at the outset of Tuesday's show, and Behar responded as Pence hoped.
" 'So I think Vice President Pence is right," Behar said. "I was raised to respect everyone's religious faith, and I fell short of that. I sincerely apologize for what I said.' "
