Kamala Harris can’t afford to be cagey about where she stands on the issues
. . . Harris: “I think we should have that conversation.”. . . Harris: “I think we should have that conversation.”. . . Harris: “I think we should have that conversation.”. . .
LA Times
"Clarity, courage and candor. That’s what voters want from political candidates. Not circular claptrap.
"That’s especially true of candidates running in a crowded field of 20 for the Democratic nomination to take on President Trump next year. Voters are looking for differences. Everyone’s pounding on Trump. That’s no distinction.
"California Sen. Kamala Harris, who’s considered among the top tier of contenders, isn’t always performing up to speed. It’s not enough just to feed the voter base with red meat and focus group-certified talking points.
"Harris has long been afflicted with too much caution, as I’ve previously written.
"Prime examples were when she was state attorney general and a longtime opponent of the death penalty, but refused to take stands on ballot propositions in 2012 and 2016 that would have abolished capital punishment. They both failed narrowly. She also didn’t take positions on ballot measures to expedite the death penalty and loosen prison sentencing. They passed.
"Her lame excuse: It was the attorney general’s ministerial duty to write the official title and summary for ballot propositions. She didn’t want to appear biased. "Nonsense." . . .
Riveting Twitter Thread on the Infamous ‘Roof Koreans’ of the LA Riots Highlights Importance of the Second Amendment
“Over 5 days, more than 1000 buildings in the LA area were destroyed, and over a billion dollars worth of damage done. But guess which communities endured the storm with minimal damage and injury? That’s right. The store David and Richard fought from still stands today,” he continued.
The elected representative of these people was and still is, I believe Maxine Waters |
"A riveting Twitter thread celebrated these brave heroes as the anniversary of the riots approaches.
"From April 29 to May 4 in 1992, rioters burned and looted everything in sight to protest the acquittal of four Los Angeles Police Department officers for excessive force in the beating of King. The riots left over $1 million in property damage. Reginald Denny, a white truck driver who stopped at a traffic light in the middle of the riots, was also pulled from his truck and beat nearly to death by a mob of rioters. His skull was fractured in 91 places.
"By the end of the rioting, 53 people were killed, including 35 from gunfire.
"While the riots were horrific, the “Roof Koreans” emerged as a testament to the bravery of their community and the importance of the Second Amendment." . . . Video
" 'What I tried to do was take it out of the discussion of ‘these are just no good, crazy rioting people' and to talk about what I call an insurrection, which made a lot of white people mad," she recalled.
"In one famous incident of "insurrection" broadcast across the county, four men dragged truck driver Reginald Denny out of his cab and beat him within an inch of his life." . . .
"Another victim of the "insurrection" was 45-year-old Howard Epstein. As the Los Angeles Times reported, "Onlookers broke into applause when someone yelled that the dead driver was white."
"L.A.'s Korean-American community faced the brunt of the "insurrection" as a favorite target of the "rebels."
"Over 2,200 Korean businesses were targeted for looting and violence, causing $400 million in damages." . . .
Shepard Smith hangs up on French politician during Notre-Dame fire; he considered terrorism.

"Karsenty told WND he was “shocked” when Smith abruptly ended the interview.
“ 'I just wanted to put it in context,” he said, referring to the surge of attacks on churches. “And then I said, nevertheless, the media are lecturing us an hour after it started, saying it can only be unintentional.
“ 'I didn’t say it was a terrorist attack. I didn’t say it was criminal,” Karsenty recalled to WND.
"The French media analyst said he couldn’t have imagined such censorship “would happen in the United States.”
“ 'I thought I was with the free-media outlet in the land of freedom. And then I was cut off.”

SAD: White House Correspondents' Dinner Replaces Comedy With 'Dark Sermons'
Daily Wire "Speakers at Saturday night's White House Correspondents' Association dinner struck a somber tone amid signs that the once ultra-trendy, star-studded "nerd prom" just isn't the event it once was."
. . . "President Donald Trump announced several weeks ago that he would not appear at the annual event — which technically raises money for journalism scholarships and awards achievements in covering White House-specific events — for the third year in a row. For the first time, however, the president said all senior members of the White House staff will "boycott" the event.
"White House officials, including press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, instead appeared alongside the president at a rally Saturday night.
"That decision came after Huckabee Sanders endured cruel taunts at the hands of last year's featured speaker, comedian Michelle Wolf. Fearing no Trump administration associate could show up at the WHCA dinner without being personally attacked, despite a longstanding tradition of good-natured ribbing between the press and the president through dueling speeches, the White House simply stopped RSVPing to the event.
"The White House Correspondents' Association responded by making swift changes to the event's lineup, substituting historian Ron Chernow for the expected comedy act, but it did not tempt the White House back to the dinner." . . .

Poway Synagogue Shooter Left a Manifesto – Calls President Trump a “Zionist, Anti-White, Traitorous, C*cksucker”
The Gateway Pundit "Police searched a home in San Diego today following the shooting.
We have come across what appears to be a manifesto for the Poway synagogue shooter. He identifies as an anon from 8chan's /pol/ board. He claims he was inspired by the Christchurch shooting. His manifesto is filled with shitposting and should not be taken literally. https://t.co/a3QlN8dsDy— ~Marietta (@MariettaDaviz) April 27, 2019
Police said the killer left a manifesto. Authorities are also examining his social media accounts.

. . . "The most egregious action taken against the Jewish people in American political history has been the Iran deal. Iran is a direct threat to the safety of Israel. The State of Iran funds Hezbollah terrorist group, which consistently attacks Israel. Former Secretary of State John Kerry, with the guidance of Obama, settled on a deal with Iran over their nuclear program. Obama told the American public the deal was going to slow down and curtail Iran’s nukes. But that storyline was debunked. Obama showed his disdain for the people of Israel by allowing Iran to flourish with a clear pathway to nuclear weapons. It was a disgrace to America and the people of Israel. How bad was that White House Correspondents Dinner Trump refused to attend?
Wikimedia |
"Last year's crude, rude, misogynistic attack on Trump's White House press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, by a crude, rude, unfunny female comedian at the dinner, was the last straw. His staying away now proved that Trump is a man of taste. Rather than bother with these failed clowns, Trump attended an enthusiastic rally in Wisconsin, a place most of the White House correspondents know about as much about as Hillary Clinton does, given that it's a state filled with people these same correspondents look down upon.
"These know-nothing newsies, or as Trump describes them, purveyors of fake news, didn't like being ignored. The organization's president, Olivier Knox, drowning in self-pity, proved it with his poor-little-me fake news speech.
“ 'I don’t want to dwell on the president,” Knox said while discussing President Trump. “This is not his dinner. It’s ours, and it should stay ours. But I do want to say this. In nearly 23 years as a reporter I’ve been physically assaulted by Republicans and Democrats, spat on, shoved, had crap thrown at me. I’ve been told I will never work in Washington again by both major parties.”
“ 'And yet I still separate my career to before February 2017 and what came after,” the pious Knox continued, filling himself with tears and flapdoodle, pouring it on. “And February 2017 is when the president called us the enemy of the people. A few days later my son asked me, ‘Is Donald Trump going to put you in prison?”
"And the glurge and treacle kept flowing. At the end of a family trip to Mexico, Knox mused that "if the president tried to keep me out of the country, at least Uncle Josh is a good lawyer and will get you home.” Journalists in the Trump era are actually under physical threat, Knox said somberly." . . .

""As president, I will do everything in my power to hunt down each and every one of these terrorist scumbags, bring them to the U.S., and allow them to vote in our elections," he said sternly, drawing applause from his supporters. "We believe in democracy, right? We believe in democracy and the right to vote, and if that means I have to use every resource at my disposal to make sure ISIS makes it to the polls, I will do so."
" 'This is America, after all," he said, wildly flailing his hands about before aides rushed to him and gave him his meds to calm him down.
"After being pressed, Sanders admitted that part of the reason for the policy is that he's "pretty confident" ISIS will vote for Democrats such as himself."

NY Times Article: Jesus Was Likely A 'Palestinian,' Not White. But does the left call President Trump a Jew, or a Nazi?
Daily Caller "The article discusses how “a white Jesus is still deeply embedded in the Western story of Christianity,” despite him having lived in the Middle Eastern region.
ANTI-SEMITISM AT THE NEW YORK TIMES "The Democratic Party, following in the steps of Britain’s Labour Party, is sinking ever deeper into anti-Semitism. Now it’s the Democrats’ house organ, the New York Times. On April 25, the international edition of the Times published this blatantly anti-Semitic cartoon attacking Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump:"
"The weirdest aspect of the cartoon (although not the most offensive) is the depiction of Trump as a Jew. Wasn’t he was supposed to be a Nazi? I suppose no one expects consistency from liberals, but this seems a little extreme." . . .
“As I grew older, I learned that the fair-skinned, blue-eyed depiction of Jesus has for centuries adorned stained glass windows and altars in churches throughout the United States and Europe,” the story originally read, according to a screen grab from Way Back Machine. “But Jesus, born in Bethlehem, was most likely a Palestinian man with dark skin.”
It was changed a week later and it no longer has any mention of Palestine.
"Eric Copage, who is black, wrote, “As I grew older, I learned that the fair-skinned, blue-eyed depiction of Jesus has for centuries adorned stained glass windows and altars in churches throughout the United States and Europe. But Jesus, born in Bethlehem, was most likely a Palestinian man with dark skin.” In the 600-plus words of Copage’s piece, he never acknowledges that Jesus was Jewish, which is obvious from every text of the Bible; instead, neatly aligning his perspective with the New York Times penchant consistently siding with Palestinian Arabs in disputes with Israel, he only resorts to calling Jesus a Palestinian.
"Copage opined, “Now, even though cultures across the world may at times show a Jesus that reflects their own story, a white Jesus is still deeply embedded in the Western story of Christianity. It has become often impossible to separate Jesus and white from the American psyche. … I am also interested in how white Christians feel about images of Christ. How do you feel about the possibility that Christ may not have looked the way he has been portrayed for centuries in the United States and Europe? If you’ve seen Christ depicted as a man of color, what was your reaction?”
"As Noah Pollak succinctly noted on Twitter, “The ‘Palestinians are indigenous to Israel’ lie is more commonly believed than I thought. History lesson for NYT editors: Palestinians are Arabs. Arabs didn't conquer the area until 700 years after Jesus was crucified. Jesus was not an Arab.' ”. . .
. . . "The name Palestine for the area that was home of the Jewish people only came into existence after the Romans exiled the bulk of the Jewish people from Judea in the second century A.D., long after the period in which Jesus lived. Eager to erase the Jewish identity to the land, the Roman emperor Hadrian did something that had heretofore been unheard of for the Romans, who never changed the name of provinces: he named the area “Palestinia” after the Jews’ ancient enemies, the Philistines. The Philistines had been defeated by King David in his memorable defeat of Goliath; they were again defeated by David’s descendant King Hezekiah. They eventually were completely defeated by the Assyrians and had ceased to exist long before the Jews fought with Rome."
ANTI-SEMITISM AT THE NEW YORK TIMES "The Democratic Party, following in the steps of Britain’s Labour Party, is sinking ever deeper into anti-Semitism. Now it’s the Democrats’ house organ, the New York Times. On April 25, the international edition of the Times published this blatantly anti-Semitic cartoon attacking Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump:"

. . . "No doubt the people who run the Times view this incident as an anomaly. The tide of anti-Semitism is rising on the Left, but it will have to get worse before outlets like the Times recognize that they have a problem."
mage on TwitterInsufferable Suffrage; Sixteen-year-olds absolutely should not vote
There is every reason to want teens, uninterested in voting or unprepared to vote, to perform an important civic duty by staying home rather than imposing their ignorance on the rest of us. And if you argue that many adult voters are similarly infantile and ignorant, I say: You’re right. Let’s not create any more. David Harsayi
National Review "There’s an insidious movement afoot to lower the voting age to 16. By promising suffrage to the most easily manipulated and emotionally unstable voters in America, Democrats in state legislatures and the U.S. Congress, where Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has endorsed the scheme, are pushing to make the electorate quite literally less mature.
"Americans get their hackles up when you point out that teenagers are probably the most insufferable group in the nation. Well, second-most insufferable. As a group, teens, of course, aren’t immoral or irredeemably broken, like most politicians, just unfinished and slightly unbalanced — awkwardly oscillating between incomprehensible immaturity and unearned confidence, and between impulsiveness and irrational anxiety. Incentivizing elected officials to pander to the fleeting whims and mercurial idealism of people who have been known occasionally to ingest detergent pods is national suicide.
"Sixteen-year-olds have good excuses for their lack of judgment: an underdeveloped prefrontal cortex, a dreadful public-school system, and coddling parents. Those who want to empower kids to chime in on war and peace and marginal tax rates when they still have to ask their parents for permission slips before going on a class trip, however, do not.
" 'Across this nation, young people are leading the way — from gun violence to climate change to the future of work. They are organizing, mobilizing, and calling us to action,” explained Congresswomen Ayanna Pressley after introducing an amendment to lower the voting age in federal elections. “Our young people are at the forefront of some of the most existential crises facing our communities and our society at large.' ” . . .

JUDGE RULES High School Girls MUST Shower With Boys…Girls Have No Right To “Visual Bodily Privacy”
It makes the stakes clear: “If our government is powerful enough to command innocent school children to disrobe in the presence of opposite-sex classmates, then there will be little it will not be powerful enough to do.”
Cartoonist group |
"In May 2016, the Obama administration issued a “guidance” to all public schools that they should allow members of one biological sex to use the showers, locker rooms, and restrooms – and stay in the same hotel rooms during field trips – as member of the opposite sex or risk losing federal funding.
"A joint letter from the Departments of Education and Justice stated that students who identify as transgender must be allowed to use the private facilities that match their gender identity with “no medical diagnosis or treatment requirement.”
"Now, girls in a Chicago area school district are paying the price for the open minded decision of progressive politicians pandering for votes from the LGBTQ community.
"According to College Fix, a federal court has permitted a lawsuit to proceed against an Illinois school district that allows high school boys to use girls’ locker rooms, restrooms, and showers in order to accommodate transgender students.
"But girls who don’t want to be seen naked by boys got bad news: The judge ruled that they have no right to “visual bodily privacy” if the government says so." . . .
