Let's see: what can we cancel next?

Cancel Culture -- What Happens When Everything Gets Cancelled?   "Cancel culture refers to the popular practice of withdrawing support for (canceling) public figures and companies after they have done or said something considered objectionable or offensive. It may be an innocuous word or tweet from years ago, that through the long memory of social media can resurface, leading to public group shaming of an individual.
"Such shaming typically goes only one way, based on one’s politics. For others it’s just a matter of being caught in the stampede. A “Saturday Night Live” cast member, Shane Gillis, made a derogatory comment about Asians a few years ago and was fired for his comments.
"Uber liberals however, like MSNBC’s Joy Reid, get a pass for past homophobic blog posts. Other woke liberals who toe the line on global warming and abortion also get a pass for racially insensitive behavior like wearing blackface. They weren’t singing ‘Mammy” with Al Jolson a century ago, but wearing blackface far more recently. Examples include Howard Stern, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Virginia Governor Ralph (Coonman) Northam.
"The cancel culture has morphed to cancelling America because of who it might offend. What happens when everything gets cancelled and we become a society described by letters and numbers, eliminating our rich history and traditions? The cancel culture is leading us to an Orwellian dystopic society, from America the Beautiful to The Hunger Games.
"The self-appointed censors have found their voices after George Floyd’s death and the immediate end to COVID-19 threats, with protests and riots not only now condoned but actually encouraged. What are some of the casualties?" . . .
Cancel the police and it will be the Hunger Games in American cities. Truckers have already promised to not deliver to cities that defund police. Minneapolis can grow its own food in winter when the temperatures are below zero. Good luck with that.. . .
Newspapers ditching mugshot galleries amid concerns they advance negative stereotypes

Activist Who Supports Statue Removal Reveals Live On-Air She Doesn’t Know Who Winston Churchill Is   . . . "Last week, statues of Churchill and former President Abraham Lincoln were vandalized by “anti-fascist” and “antiracist” rioters in London." . . .

Those People We Tried to Cancel? They’re All Hanging Out Together  . . . "Ms. Herzog became a member of a unique emerging class of people — journalists, academics, opinion writers — canceled for bad, conservative or offensive opinions.
"As it happens, cancellation is bringing many of them together." . . .

Unfazed By Thought Police, Tucker Carlson Speaks Truth to BLM Power  "In the face of recent announcements from companies dropping their ads from his
show, Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson was unfazed by the liberal thought police as he delivered a 17-minute-plus opening monologue Monday night speaking truth to the power of the Black Lives Matter movement. He called out their bullying tactics, manipulation of our moral values, and the brutalization of anyone who even offered mild criticism of the group." . . .

A video catches a brave woman telling leftists the truth about the Democrats

Not only did Beatty preach the gospel, but she also educated some ignorant, but polite, white activists about the Democrat party's ugly relationship with blacks in America:
Andrea Widberg   "There's a lot of ugly stuff coming out of CHAZ.  We've seen people who condemn walls as evil build walls; people who claim that mandatory ID is racist demand ID; people who dismiss farmers as morons "plant" crops on cardboard; and people who hate the Second Amendment instantly cede power to others with guns.  We've seen also the kind of thing we already expect from the Black Lives Matter, Antifa, and anarchist crowd: property destruction, mob violence, suppression of free speech, and outright hostility to Christianity.
"But sometimes, even on an ash heap, a flower will grow.  On Monday, that flower was Bevelyn Beatty, who identifies herself as the co-founder and evangelist at At The Well Ministries.  Beatty is not only an evangelical Christian, but a true believer in conservative values: pro-life, pro-marriage, and pro-Trump.
“Jesus is who I am here for no one else.”
"Beatty and a congregant went to CHAZ to spread the gospel.  She must have known then about the way the CHAZ citizens tried to choke a white man for trying to preach the gospel.  Apparently, doing the same to a black woman was a bridge too far, even for the anarchists, for they left her unmolested.  Beatty didn't know that going in.  It took real courage on her part to step into CHAZ world and speak up." . . .

Buck Sexton of the CIA Rants on Conservative Media

“If one of the conservative billionaires out there has any stomach for saving their country from the mob, they should buy and flip a major media platform, or fund a new one, and make it an unsinkable aircraft carrier of true free speech.”
Sexton
Rush Limbaugh  "RUSH: Many of you might remember the former guest host on this program, Buck Sexton of the CIA. Buck now tweets a lot. Does he have his own show now? (interruption) Yeah, he does. And he ran for office — or am I confusing him with Jason Lewis? It was Jason Lewis that ran. Jason Lewis is not CIA. Buck was CIA. (interruption) Jason Lewis was CIA, too? So we’re not getting our guest hosts from the CIA, then? All right.
"Well, anyway, Buck has been on a tweet storm and had to put it in one of those thread apps ’cause there’s so many tweets, and he’s ticked off at how conservative everything has just given up, has just ceded the country, ceded Hollywood, ceded music, ceded television, ceded the media, ceded everything. Doesn’t understand it.
“ 'If one of the conservative billionaires out there has any stomach for saving their country from the mob, they should buy and flip a major media platform, or fund a new one, and make it an unsinkable aircraft carrier of true free speech.” . . .

. . . "Where are the older leaders in conservative media who are welcoming and building up the next generation? We have people more concerned with protecting their own brands and their own turf, which individually these conservatives we’re talking about are some tiny and small that nobody knows who they are anyway." . . .

Cops to America: You won’t have to abolish police, we’re outta here

BPR  "Mike O’Meara, the president of the New York State Police Benevolent Association, is not the only cop fed up and exasperated with mainstream America’s incessant demonization of all law enforcement officers. Not by a long shot.
"So is Travis Yates, a 27-year Tulsa cop who “grew up in a law enforcement family” but is now warning of an incoming police exodus.
"In a powerful, nearly 1500-word long column published last week at LawOfficer.com, Yates poured his heart out over the growing disrespect for law enforcement that he’s seen as the decades have progressed.
"“27 years have passed and if you would have told me the condition of law enforcement today, I would have never believed you,” he wrote. “It’s not that law enforcement has changed for the worse but everything around it has.”
"To prove his point, he cited example after example after example:
  • “The mentally ill used to get treatment and now they just send cops.”
  • “Kids used to be taught respect and now it’s cool to be disrespectful.”
  • “Supervisors used to back you when you were right but now they accuse you of being wrong in order to appease crazy people.”
  • “Parents used to get mad at their kids for getting arrested and now they get mad at us.”
  • “The media used to highlight the positive contribution our profession gave to society and now they either ignore it or twist the truth for controversy to line their own pockets.”
  • “There used to be a common respect among criminals. If they got caught, they understood you had a job to do but now it’s our fault they sit in handcuffs rather than their own personal decisions.”
  • “If someone attacked a cop, they were seen as such. Now we martyr them and sue for millions.”
  • “We used to be able to testify in court and we were believed. Now, unless there is video from three different angles, no one cares what you have to say.”
