IOTW ReportThe Georgia State Senate Special Committee on Investigations Wednesday morning heard testimony from Trump RICO co-defendant Michael Roman’s attorney, Ashleigh Merchant.
"In a previous court filing, Michael Roman revealed Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis “financially benefited” from a romantic relationship with top Trump prosecutor Nathan Wade.
"Merchant testified on her conversations with Nathan Wade’s former law partner and divorce attorney Terrence Bradley. more . . .
"Book Admits Fani Willis' Investigation Began With Illegal Recording (thefederalist.com)"Democrat Fani Willis’ legal troubles extend beyond recent revelations that she deceptively hired her otherwise under-qualified, secret, married lover to run the political prosecution of former President Donald Trump and other Republicans in Georgia. A new book from Mike Isikoff and Daniel Klaidman admits that a widely misunderstood phone call, on which Willis’ political prosecution rests, was illegally recorded. That means the entire prosecution could crumble with defendants having a new avenue to challenge Democrat lawfare." . . .
"With the Biden administration hauling in millions of “newcomers” (the latest euphemism for illegal aliens) from booming economies like Venezuela, Senegal and Haiti, we seem to be getting a Kate Steinle every day.
"Among the recent atrocities committed by Our Greatest Strength is the savage murder of 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley by Jose Antonio Ibarra, a Venezuelan illegal alien released into our country by the Biden administration. The “newcomer” beat Riley so badly that he disfigured her skull.
MEDIA ALERT: Time to roll out the fake studies on low immigrant crime!
"The one-man factory producing these studies is Alex Nowrasteh of the libertarian Cato Institute. (Take our country, just don’t raise taxes.) He fudges the data, slaps a false title on his report, and journalists copy his work like they’re Claudine Gay writing a thesis.
"Thus, in its story on the murder of Riley, The New York Times cited “studies” showing “no causal connection” between immigrants and crime. Indeed, the Times said, studies “have concluded” that immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than U.S. citizens.
"The article links to 1) Nowrasteh’s sham study and 2) a 2017 Times story that cites Nowrasteh’s sham study.
"That same day, the Times’ Angelo Fichera ran a “fact check” on Donald Trump’s claim that “the United States is being overrun by the Biden migrant crime. It’s a new form of vicious violation to our country.”
"Fichera’s ruling: “This lacks evidence.”
"His proof:
“ 'One recently updated analysis by Alex Nowrasteh, the vice president for economic and social policy studies at the libertarian Cato Institute, found that the homicide conviction rate for illegal immigrants in Texas in 2015 was slightly lower than the rate among U.S. citizens.”
"(If they’re so law-abiding, why are they fleeing the crime in countries full of people just like them?)
"The Nowrasteh “study,” and others that perform the exact same error-ridden analysis, is the heart and soul of the immigrants-commit-less-crime scam. If it’s wrong, liberals have nothing, and you can go back to believing your lying eyes.
"Needless to say, his study is not merely off by a homicidal illegal or two. He — and others like him — aren’t even comparing illegal aliens to citizens. They’re comparing illegal aliens to a group that includes both illegal aliens and citizens." . . .
Care to visualize what would happen to these people if they were hauled off to Gaza? TD
"On a drizzly, misty night, during my volunteer work mission to Israel, the dichotomy of the true essence of Judaism and Israel, juxtaposed against the global slander and defamation heaped upon the country, filled me with immense pride and deep despair.
"We had started the day in the Negev, at Kibbutz Kevlar. Founded in 1943, ten pioneers, without water or any basics, started a community that now consists of over 400 people, a high school, and various economic activities. However, the community, situated very close to the border with Gaza, was one of many evacuated for safety after the Hamas massacres of October 7. My group’s project was to take advantage of the safety-related evacuation and to repaint and decorate the first community center, built many decades ago. Miraculously, we completed our painting in a little over three hours -- and added some artistic touches.
"Oddly, while we could hear the remains of fired rockets, and with the knowledge we were near the original massacre sites, none of us were fearful. As inane as it would assuredly appear, we all felt protected by an invisible force.
"From the kibbutz, we journeyed by bus to the Soroka Hospital in Beersheba (the largest city in the Negev), where we heard how the staff there processed and treated, on a chaotic October 8th -- the day after Hamas’ bestial attacks -- an emergency patient every 39 seconds! They accomplished this amazing feat by receiving one year’s worth of blood donations in a day, and with dedicated staff who worked for over 62 days straight without a break.
"Afterwards, as night descended, we headed to the canteen of the “A” Team. A makeshift sort of open-air center, somewhere in the middle of nowhere, funded by Israeli taxpayers and the JNF. There, soldiers and officers can shower, have hot meals, pick up casual street clothes, and jam.
"The ramshackle mismatched displays of foodstuffs and clothing looked like something out of an old war movie -- vintage Coke mini fridges, steam ovens, and huge tin foil-covered food warmers.
"In the midst of all the activity, with used cars and army vehicles streaming in and out, a group of obviously young people with disabilities provided the music to warm up the crowd. A diminutive female lead singer, reminiscent of Janis Joplin, led the band. These entertainers are called “IDF's 'Special in Uniform' band.” The “A Team’s” members with disabilities are actually members of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF)." . . .
"A recent MSNBC panel led by Rachel Maddow appeared incredulous that Virginia voters are concerned about illegal immigration and would like to see our borders secured. The diverse all-woman panel yukked it up over the backwardness of the rubes of the Old Dominion. Maddow noted that Virginia does share a border with West Virginia, however, and intimated that perhaps the voters should be more concerned with keeping the deplorable yahoos in that state from entering Virginia.
"This was a remarkably repulsive — and public — display of disdain for average Americans, even for the likes of MSNBC, especially considering that illegal immigration now ranks as the number-one concern among Americans overall, for several excellent reasons, expense, crime, and human- and drug-trafficking among them.
"It is hard to imagine a group of alleged “journalists” being more out of touch. Given the tone of conversation, it wouldn’t have been surprising to hear Maddow or one of her associates exclaim, “Let them eat cake!”
"Sadly, Maddow’s show is quite popular. It is hard to believe there are those who get their “news” from despicable clowns like these."

Why do Virginians care about illegal immigration? "At a House Republican press briefing to promote a resolution declaring former President Trump did not engage in an insurrection yesterday, Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) slammed attempts to remove the ex-President from the ballot and insulted reporters' for their coverage of January 6."
Former USBP Chief Rodney Scott said Biden's trip to the border Thursday was 'for the cameras'
"The former chief of the United States Border Patrol made a bombshell claim Thursday that he was essentially punished for offering "feedback" to the Biden administration that was critical of how it was operating its border control responsibilities.
"Former USBP Chief Rodney Scott observed live coverage of President Biden meeting with current USBP Chief Jason Owens and Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector Chief Gloria Chavez near Brownsville, Texas, and described it as a "photo-op" for the president to appear engaged against the migrant crisis.
"[I]t's for the cameras... I hate to get political, but I believe the reason that the Biden administration is down there is if he got that briefing in the White House, there'd be no cameras. There'd be no show," Scott said on "The Story."
"But they know what it takes to secure the border. We handed them the most secure border in the history of the United States and and a roadmap to keep it that way and make it even better, [yet] through 94 executive actions, President Biden completely destroyed border security."
"In recognizing the dregs of press unprofessionalism, journalistic sloth, and generally deserved media mockery, we have created "The Golden Remington Awards," a nod to the olden days when hard-scrabble hacks committed actual journalism and hammered out dispatches on those hefty wordsmith devices. With an eye to that past of muckraking reporting and shoe leather investigation, we acknowledge those who fail today in an audacious fashion.

"Distinguished Explanatory Reporting Joy Reid - MSNBC
"Get ready, as we already have a leader in the clubhouse for a year-end trophy. On her private video channel, MSNBC’s primetime pontificating pundit wanted to address the recent passage of a bill in Alabama granting protections for frozen embryos created for in-vitro fertilization. Ms. Reid is, by all appearances, aggravated by this and she goes off on a rant for the ages that departs from Normal-ville immediately and reaches Crazy Town in record time. A flow chart is needed to see the various topics she manages to connect in this unhinged delivery.
She begins being deeply bothered with protecting IVF embryos
Then she asks why Alabama wants more children
Then she brings up slavery because pregnancies meant more property
This leads to the state wanting children for slave labor
And this is said to be done to displace immigrants from that labor
Next, it becomes a plot for the Great Replacement Theory
And finally, it means there’s a “need” to make more white women have kids, a la “The Handmaid’s Tale”.
"Utter amazement. Her being bothered by more kids is never explained, how she jumps to slavery is her own magic at play, then declaring the state will use kids for labor ignores the illegality - ditto for slavery in general - and then we see she is NOT bothered by immigrants performing what she declared to be slave labor. How she gets to women being forced to carry these embryos is a complete wonder." . . .
Newsweek (msn.com)"Joe Biden lost the American Samoa Democratic primary to little-known candidate Jason Palmer, becoming the first incumbent president to lose a primary sinceJimmy Carterin 1980.
"Palmer's surprising victory tarnished an otherwise perfect night for Biden, during which he scored a string of primary wins across the U.S.
"The Context
"Biden and Donald Trumpsecured a wave of victories on Super Tuesday with each now the overwhelming favorite to win their respective parties' 2024 presidential nominations, setting up a rematch of the 2020 contest. However each candidate lost one primary, with Trump suffering a surprise Vermont defeat to former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley, in addition to Biden's American Samoa loss." . . .
America’s Destruction and the Ghosts of Revolutions Past - Vince Coyner . . . "As we watch powerlessly as our great cities devolve into crime-infested dystopian nightmares; George Soros-impelled DAs and prosecutors smile as they demonstrate their two-tiered legal system; the federal government actively subverts efforts to secure the border; cities cut services to citizens and veterans to give illegals billions; schools and hospitals and states empower the brainwashing and butchering of children; and the Uniparty in Washington runs up trillion dollar deficits and sends tens of billions to Ukraine, we begin to recognize what Bezmenov called Normalization.
"A decade ago, Americans of most stripes would have understood that this was a disaster in the making. But now we’re told that all of it is not only normal, but you’re a racist, homophobic, transphobic white nationalist if you disagree with any of it.
"The outcome in November will decide which path we take. The thing to remember when we walk into those voting booths is that Bezmenov and Xi had a place to escape to for freedom: America. We don’t have that luxury. Vote accordingly."
“ 'I’m still curious: when was there an insurrection? I think that the recent 9-0 unanimous decision by SCOTUS (Supreme Court of the United States) very clearly stated that it wasn’t going to be an insurrection just by its overall ruling to make sure to prove that it was unconstitutional,” said Rep. Mills. “If it was a 14th Amendment issue where they’re trying to say that you can be disqualified which hasn’t happened since 1868 was the last time someone was disqualified. And prior to that, I think it was those who were Confederate soldiers who actually did lead an armed insurrection – armed being the key phrase here.
“Again, I think that they’re trying to run a rabbit hole that’s going to go nowhere. And it’s just for messaging because they realize how bad 2024’s election is going to turn out for the Biden administration, for the Senate which we’re going to reclaim, and also for holding the House. So, they’re still trying to run on the 2020, 2022 talking points because they have nothing new. But the SCOTUS 9-0 unanimous decision I think should put a nail in the coffin for him,” said Rep. Mills.
"Finally, the Florida Republican answered whether Democrats will once again look at packing the high court.

"That’s when President Joe Biden – confirmed by a special counsel to be a man of “diminished faculties in advancing age” who in interviews couldn’t drudge up when he was veep, when his son died, who his political friends and foes were or his past policy positions – convened a nationally televised presser to refresh the relevance of Scott’s storied screwup.

Even the United Nations, which is extremely hostile to Israel, now admits to the mass sexual abuse by Palestinians on October 7 and beyond: “With respect to hostages, the mission team found clear and convincing information that some have been subjected to various forms of conflict-related sexual violence including rape and sexualized torture and sexualized cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment and it also has reasonable grounds to believe that such violence may be ongoing.”
. . ."Gaza ‘civilians’ joined Hamas in committing Oct. 7 atrocities, UN team admits
"The UN team acknowledged that Gaza ‘civilians’ joined Palestinian terrorists in committing horrific atrocities on Israelis. Those who breached the “Gaza perimeter fence at multiple points” on October 7 included Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists “other armed elements and armed and unarmed civilians,” the report said.
"The Hamas-led attackers also had “detailed prior knowledge of the targets selected,” the UN found, suggesting large-scale involvement of Gazans with Israeli work-permits. (View the 23-page UN document here.)
The U.N. envoy focusing on sexual violence in conflict said in a new report Monday that there are “reasonable grounds” to believe Hamas committed rape, “sexualized torture,” and other cruel and inhumane treatment of women during its surprise attack in southern Israel on Oct. 7.
There are also “reasonable grounds to believe that such violence may be ongoing,” said Pramila Patten, who visited Israel and the West Bank from Jan. 29 to Feb. 14 with a nine-member technical team.
Based on first-hand accounts of released hostages, she said the team “found clear and convincing information” that some women and children during their captivity were subjected to the same conflict-related sexual violence including rape and “sexualized torture.”
Based on the information it gathered, Patten said, “there are reasonable grounds to believe that conflict-related sexual violence occurred during the 7 October attacks in multiple locations across Gaza periphery, including rape and gang rape, in at least three locations.” (…)
Across various locations, she said, the team found “that several fully naked or partially naked bodies from the waist down were recovered – mostly women – with hands tied and shot multiple times, often in the head.”
While this is circumstantial, she said the pattern of undressing and restraining victims “may be indicative of some forms of sexual violence.” . . .

. . ."Such an effort underscores the growing divisions within the Democratic Party over the conflict in the Middle East, with various constituencies, including young people and American Muslims, increasingly dropping their support for Joe Biden (and in some cases, the party altogether) over its lukewarm support for Israel.
"A poll conducted by Reuters last month found that 56 percent of identified Democrats said they would be less willing to support a candidate who voted in favor of military assistance for Israel.
"The problem facing Biden was exemplified last week when over 100,000 people voted "uncommitted" in the party's Michigan primary. If these people do not turn out for Biden in November as a form of protest, it could hand the state and its electoral votes back to Donald Trump." . . .
. . ."In light of this news, the stance taken by Netanyahu and others appears to be the most appropriate. Putting the PA in charge of Gaza might tamp down on some of the violent activities Hamas favors, but it will not solve the problem. There cannot be a peaceful solution as long as those in charge of the West Bank and Gaza Strip are bent on continuing violence against Israel. Unfortunately, this revelation is unlikely to get the Biden administration to rethink its plans for Gaza after the war is finally concluded." . . .
