"Footage circulating on social media depicted a terrifying scene of carnage and panic as the lone gunman fired rapid shots at seemingly random people near the campus’s student union building.

"Ikner, who was also allegedly caught with a handgun and a shotgun, has since been described as someone who touted “white supremacist” views and spewed “gross” racial rhetoric, according to his classmates."

FSU Shooting Suspect Was Shaped by Guns, Extreme Views and Chaotic Childhood - The New York Times   . . ."By the time the suspect, Phoenix Ikner, was 6 years old, court records showed that he had to repeat kindergarten. His parents fought bitterly over every aspect of his care while accusing each other of manipulation and abuse. Judges were forced to intervene again and again as the parents traded allegations of domestic violence and stalking. The legal battle consumed nearly his entire childhood and ended only when he became an adult and most of the family court matters became moot.

“All I wanted for him was a loving environment,” his biological mother, Anne-Mari Eriksen, said on Friday in a brief interview, in which she was clearly upset. “I was always concerned about his mental health and happiness.”

Chief Lawrence E. Revell of the Tallahassee Police Department said in a video statement that the suspect, a Florida State student, appeared to have no direct connection to his victims. The chief added that the suspect would face charges up to and including first-degree murder.

"In the aftermath of the terrifying assassination attempt against Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) that took place in the early morning hours last Sunday at the governor’s residence, we learned disturbing details about the suspect in the case.

Accused domestic terrorist Cody Balmer, 38, evaded security and allegedly used Molotov cocktails in the arson attack that caused what authorities have described and which photos confirm as “significant damage” to the home:

Josh Shapiro’s home after an arson attack on the first night of Passover. @livenowfox . . .. . . Thankfully, Shapiro, his family, and staff, all of whom were asleep at the time, were safely evacuated by police as firefighters worked to put out the blaze. The local fire chief said certain doors in the residence that were closed helped keep the fire from spreading to other parts of the home.

According to reports, Balmer shared “pics of himself pointing a gun at the camera, and appearing to breathe fire, as well as a photo of an embroidered flaming Molotov cocktail” on social media. Further, the probable cause affidavit noted that police said he told them he “harbored hatred towards” the governor and that “he’d planned to beat Shapiro with a hammer if he encountered him.”

With Shapiro being Jewish and the attack happening on Passover, there was speculation that Balmer targeted the governor because of his faith. As it turns out, that speculation was on the mark, as the search warrant indicated:" . . .
