MSNBC (The station that gave us Joy Reid) Goes Full Racist, Attacking Sydney Sweeney Ad Campaign

 PJ Media

"When the outrage machine attacks a woman just for being white, you know the truth is under siege."

"Remember how, in recent years, nearly every high-profile “racist incident” that dominated the headlines eventually turned out to be a false flag or outright hoax? Well, nothing’s changed. The outrage-obsessed left has apparently run out of real things to be angry about, so now they’re inventing reasons to keep the mob frothing.

"Case in point: the latest American Eagle ad campaign featuring actress Sydney Sweeney. According to some perpetually offended leftists, it’s somehow Nazi propaganda. Yes, really.

"Yeah, I don’t get it either. In one spot, Sweeney says, “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color. My genes are blue.” From that, the usual outrage machine decided the campaign’s playful “great genes” riff is secretly pushing white genetic superiority.

"And naturally, the gatekeepers of left-wing culture are more than happy to amplify this.

"MSNBC producer Hannah Holland, for one, wrote a scathing critique of Sweeney’s casting. Instead of acknowledging the innocuous nature of a celebrity endorsement, Holland frames the entire campaign as a symptom of what she calls “an unbridled cultural shift toward whiteness.” She writes, “Advertisements are always mirrors of society, and sometimes what they reflect is an uncomfortable truth about who we’re really elevating.”

"Apparently, if a brand works with a white actress, it isn’t just selling jeans; it’s perpetuating an “intentional or at best, shockingly obtuse” campaign of exclusion.

"Holland’s reaction, and MSNBC’s amplification of it, goes far beyond honest critique. The piece is littered with the kind of sensationalist rhetoric that has become the network’s trademark. The casting of Sweeney, we are told, is “a not-so-subtle nod to eugenics and white supremacy.”

"I could get into the hypocrisy of a pro-abortion leftist lecturing the public about eugenics, but there just isn’t enough time." . . .

JD Vance ridicules Democrats for attacks on Sydney Sweeney jeans ad: 'Great strategy, guys!' | Blaze Media  . . . "The lesson apparently taken is, 'We're gonna attack people as Nazis for thinking that Sydney Sweeney is beautiful.' Great strategy, guys, that's how you're gonna win the midterms," he joked. "Especially young, American men."

"The devastating election loss for Democrats can be blamed in part on a shift in support from male voters who rejected the Democratic Party, leading many on the left to seek new strategies to bring males back onto their side of the political aisle." . . .

Do those Keffiyah-clad robots in the streets even know what a Nazi is? Ask them to define "fascist". TD

Hanlon's Razor Reigns: Emails Behind ProPublica's Hit on Pete Hegseth Reveal Stupidity Rather Than Malice

RedState   "A series of emails obtained by the non-profit Center to Advance Security in America confirms that officials at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point deliberately withheld evidence that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth had been accepted for admission, effectively colluding with the far-left website ProPublica's smear against the incoming Secretary of Defense.

"We first became aware that the story was about to break on December 11, when Pete Hegseth used X to get ahead of it."...

. . ."Hanlon's Razor states, "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity." My initial assessment of the event attributed many things to malice that now seem to be explainable by indifference and reluctance to take responsibility. The records search was haphazard, which led to the release of an official statement that was in error. Once the error was discovered, instead of doing the right thing, a decision seemed to have been made to dummy up and let the story die on its own due to contradictory information. Giving ProPublica an off-the-record contradiction to the on-the-record statement was a chef's kiss in the whole fiasco. What they hadn't counted on was Pete Hegseth being in a very combative mode after his bruising confirmation hearing and having retained his acceptance letter from 25 years ago. When Hegseth launched his defense, the ProPublica story died and the USMA communications shop came away looking dishonest.

"That said, this was not a harmless incident. Imagine how different the story would have been if Hegseth had not had his personal letter. He would still be under a cloud of suspicion about lying about his admission to West Point." . . .

Former Rolling Stone Editor Couldn't Hold His Tongue on This Aspect of the Russian Collusion Hoax Anymore

 Matt Vespa

"They thought Hillary would’ve won, so their dirty launch could be washed clean. Instead, they had to bury a duly elected president over Clinton’s recklessness. Lady Macbeth signed off on this scheme, based on new documents declassified in the Durham annex that FBI Director Kash Patel found in a burn bag.

"It’s over, man. Over. The Russian collusion hoax has been so thoroughly exposed, so stripped down to the bare bones, that it’s now just as pathetic as it is disconcerting. The largest intelligence operation in American history was used against us—and for what? To cover Hillary Clinton’s botched use of an unsecured server while she served as Barack Obama’s top diplomat. Since the server was unsecured, it was likely hacked, and files were retrieved. Democrats needed to take action to launch countermeasures.

There was no file on Donald Trump from the Russians, but they did have one on Ms. Clinton. Former Rolling Stone contributing editor Matt Taibbi had a damning post summarizing all the document dumps that have occurred over the past few days—all of which point to a cover-up and Obama’s people working vigorously to set up Mr. Trump to get Hillary out of a jam:

Now, we know. With the help of the declassified Durham material, we can explain the whole affair in three brushstrokes.

One, Hillary Clinton and her team apparently hoped to deflect from her email scandal and other problems via a campaign tying Trump to Putin. Two, American security services learned of these plans. Three — and this is the most important part — instead of outing them, authorities used state resources to massively expand and amplify her scheme. The last stage required the enthusiastic cooperation and canine incuriosity of the entire commercial news business, which cheered as conspirators made an enforcement target of Trump, actually an irrelevant bystander.

I’ve tiptoed for years around what I believed to be true about this case, worrying some mitigating fact might emerge. Now, there’s no doubt. Hillary Clinton got in a jam, and the FBI, CIA, and the Obama White House got her out of it by setting Trump up. That’s it. It was a cover-up, plain and simple…

REWARDING MASS MURDER: Canada Will Recognize a “Palestinian” State, PM Carney Says

  Geller Report

The man in the red shirt looks to be the one who will behead this young German woman.

"Canada rewards Hamas for carrying out the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. And rewards the Palestinian Authority for decades of incitement, terrorist attacks, and murder of thousands of Israelis. A new low for a once great nation. Canada is a disgrace.
"Far left Western leaders – Macron, Starmer, and now Canada, having destroyed their own countries, mean to export their evil to the Middle East and undermine Trump’s unprecedented Middle East Peace.

10 Funniest Far Side Comics That Showcase Gary Larson's Intelligence

 Ambrose Tardive

"The Far Side could be gleefully dumb at times, but that was only because creator Gary Larson was so smart that he could produce low-brow humor just as readily as he created high-brow comedy. For Far Side fans, there are plenty of examples of each category to celebrate, with this list focusing on select panels that highlight Larson's incredible intelligence, though, thankfully, not at the expense of their humor.

"Larson's intelligence encompassed a wide array of topic, explaining the eclectic nature of The Far Side's subject matter. Simply put, prehistoric inventors, or wayward scientists, or insects who acted like humans, because at any given moment, facts, figures, and ideas about these things were rattling around in his mind.

"From there, Larson "adapted" these things into cartoons, giving his a creative outlet, while also confirming there were more people he could relate to out there than he might have expected. In any these, these cartoons confirm that The Far Side was the product of a creatively chaotic, yet highly gifted mind." . . .

. . . "The Far Side ended in 1995, but what even many hardcore Far Side fans don't know is that Gary Larson did briefly return to produce another batch of cartoons, a few years later, in a series of panels parodying scientists, published in The New York Times. This is perhaps the stand-out example, in which "science meets tabloid TV," as a researcher is confronted on live television about why he put a colleague's pet "into [a] super collider."

Five Quick Things: The Long Overdue Russiagate Reckoning; The lies concocted by Hillary Clinton’s campaign team cannot go unpunished.

The American Spectator | USA News and Politics

Gannett

"About half the country has almost a decade's worth of rage that has been building and building over the utter lawlessness atop the Democrat Party.
"What's sad is that the angry half doesn't seem to include any Democrats.
"The utterly horrific Russiagate scandal, which gets worse with every disclosure emanating from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, isn't just pulling off a scab and re-exposing old wounds. Because there has never been a scab. The wound has never healed. It has gone untreated for years. It's septic and at least half the country knows it's infected and putting the patient's life in danger.
"You cannot run a representative republic if one political party sabotages the duly elected president of the other party in ways that poison parts of the government against the interests of the people. Russiagate was exactly that; the lies concocted by Hillary Clinton's campaign team and furthered by the dead-enders of the late-stage Obama administration to weaponize intelligence and law enforcement agencies against the people's elected president amount to treason.
"And treason must be addressed.
"As Marcus Tullius Cicero said, "A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within."
"People understand that the lawlessness that took us from Hillary Clinton using a private email server while secretary of state solely for the purpose of hiding from the public the illegal acts of corruption she was regularly committing, to Clinton's team drumming up a false narrative accusing Donald Trump of colluding with Russia to rig the 2016 presidential election, to Barack Obama using that pack of lies as justification to both spy on Trump's campaign and set up prosecutions of Trump allies, and finally to the entire Democrat apparatus concocting a false scandal so as to wreck the first Trump administration, cannot be dismissed.
"And yet there is little confidence it will be punished as it would have to be in a nation of laws.

"More fool I. And why? Because I am still "talking" to one radical feminist. However, on the issue of Israel, she remains utterly convinced that Israel is committing a genocide in Gaza. In fact, it is Islamist jihadists who are trying to commit a genocide of Jews in Israel--but the truth no longer matters.

"Recently, I sent her reasoned and expert articles that carefully deconstruct the purposeful doctoring of photos, and the role that Egypt, the United Nations, Hamas, Qatar, and Iran play in the miseries of Gazan civilians. I sent her Matti Friedman's article titled "Are Gazans Starving? Searching for the Truth in an Information War." I sent her war scholar John Spencer's interview in which he insists that there is no genocide in Gaza--and whatever real suffering may exist has not been caused by Israel.

"I sent her another of John Spencer's articles, which lauds the unprecedented nature of Israel's providing food and aid to the territory from which they were attacked and with which they are at war.

"Her response? "Phyllis, how can you still believe such lies?"

"She remains implacable, unreachable, sanctimonious, contemptuous.

"I speak to another old colleague, someone I have not seen in a long time. What is she doing? She is happily at work creating a three-dimensional book "All About Palestine."

"Are they deaf, dumb, and blind? These are educated women--ah, there's one source of the problem. They have indeed been educated to believe the worst about Jews and Israel; to view America as far more evil than any other country or culture on earth. They read the news: the BBC, The Guardian, The New York Times, The Washington Post; they listen to NPR, and they watch MSNBC and CNN, and they mock (but rarely read) what they view as the "conservative" media.

"Are they totally untroubled by what's happening to Jews in the world?

"On every media platform, on the streets, at concerts and athletic competitions, in lectures, at conferences, on beaches, in restaurants, even on airplanes--the entire world speaks in one voice: "Free, Free Palestine;" "Israel Is Committing Genocide;" "Gazans Are Dying of Hunger."

"This is how a well-funded Blood Libel works in the 21st century--and such lies have always, always led to the isolation, persecution, and then, to the massacre of Jews. The power of the internet is something that Hitler and Goebbels could only have dreamed about. Doctored photos, doctored footage, a million bots primed to amplify the lethal-lie messaging." . . . More...

No more hostage deal talks with Hamas, Smotrich says | World Israel News

“From here on, the only possible deal is a total surrender of Hamas, the unconditional return of all our hostages, the dismantling of its armed force, the demilitarization of Gaza, the exile of the head of Hamas and to allow all those who want to leave Gaza to do so,” Smotrich said at the event, focused on the 20th anniversary since Israel pulled out of Gaza."

For all you campus activists, that means "Palestine" is and has not been occupied.

As always, impeccable timing, Kam

 Diann Russell

. . . " the biggest lesson of Kamala's short campaign was that all of the slobbering media assistance in the world amounts to nothing if the candidate is a dud."

"Just as Trump's honeymoon period comes to an end, Kamala Harris comes busting through the wall like the Kool-Aid guy to remind voters why they elected him in the first place.
"Kamala appeared on "The Late Show" with Stephen Colbert last night, doing her part to reaffirm CBS's decision to cancel the partisan, unfunny program.
"The one-time "Brat".
"Her reason for coming to that conclusion? Well, isn't it obvious? She didn’t win.
" 'Ten-Minute Drill" host Matt Whitlock noted on Twitter last night:
Genuinely couldn’t disagree more.
Kamala Harris was an atrocious, offensive unprepared candidate with no agenda who didn’t believe the American people deserved to know what she would do as President.
“The system” worked exactly how it was supposed to.
"For Donald Trump, Kamala is the gift that keeps on giving. As frustrated or impatient as Americans might get with Trump from time to time, Kamala is right there in the spotlight as a living reminder that we made the right choice.
"I can't believe her crack staff thought a media blitz for her dippy "memoir" was a good idea. Rita Panahi is right. Donald Trump is blessed with truly moronic opponents.
"And if Kamala's ill-timed return wasn't bad enough, Joe Biden also reappeared on the scene last night, delivering a muddled, occasionally shouty speech to the National Bar Association Gala in Chicago." . . .

Clapper Crew Threatened Whistleblower Who Refused To Sign Off On Fabricated Intel Assessment

 The Federalist

‘You need to TRUST ME on this,’ Clapper’s crony told the analyst, saying he ‘would need to demonstrate [his] ability to “outgrow”’ the refusal to sign off on assessments he did not concur with.

"Acrony of then-Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper threatened to withhold a promotion from a senior intelligence official unless he concurred in the fake Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) on Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election, notes obtained exclusively by The Federalist show.

"The notes made public for the first time today recount a conversation the top analyst in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) had with an unnamed superior who worked closely with the then-Director James Clapper, according to sources familiar with the document.

"The release of the notes represents the latest cache of documents declassified by the Trump administration official concerning the ICA that outgoing President Barack Obama ordered, which falsely assessed that Putin “aspired” to help Trump win the election. An earlier release by the current Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, revealed the senior intelligence official — whom her office identified as an ODNI whistleblower — had been charged with conducting a “scrub,” which is a review, of the intelligence in the non-compartmented ICA. Emails released last week by Gabbard show the top analyst expressing shock over the ICA’s reliance on the Steele dossier because the versions the analyst reviewed included no intel relying on the Hillary Clinton-based fairy tale of opposition research.

"According to a person familiar with the notes, the analyst documented his recollection of the conversation on March 31, 2023 — more than six years after the conversation occurred. The delay, The Federalist’s source explained, occurred because the analyst’s efforts to share his concerns, first with the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community (IC), and then later with Special Counsel John Durham and Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, proved unsuccessful. Only later did the analyst receive an inquiry for more information about his claims, leading to the drafting of the summary of his recollections.

"Those notes capture the analyst claiming in early January that his supervisor told him, “There is reporting you are not allowed to see,” adding that “if you saw it, you would agree” with the ICA." . . .   More here.

The Top Eight Hoaxes of the Gaza War

Legal Insurrection   "The hostages are being tormented physically and emotionally; those who returned, return famished, with chronic illnesses and visible signs of torture."

"When Gazans raided southern Israel in October 2023, it became immediately clear that Israel would have to go into the terrorist territory to rescue hostages and uproot Hamas. Despite the initial outpouring of sympathy, historical precedent suggested that the most significant roadblock preventing the Jewish state from realizing these goals would be the public opinion-driven international pressure. Just like the 2000s war on terror was launched with the
Muhammad Al-Durrah hoax, Gazans would summon every antisemitic trope with a slew of fake videos and wild unsubstantiated allegations.

"Although defamatory content was expected, the media was never as relentless in its perfidy and the public — so gullible. Here are the eight most vicious lies of the war." . . .

Number eight:  Israel is committing genocide  That Israel is committing genocide is a standard anti-Zionist trope. It apparently has been doing so since 1948, as the enemy population grew tenfold. The trope is so commonplace that the New York Times writer Brett Stephens had to write an op-ed debunking it.  Opinion | No, Israel Is Not Committing Genocide in Gaza - The New York Times

. . . "A separate House committee report released later that year showed that CISA colluded with Stanford University to pressure Big Tech companies into censoring prominent conservative voices — including The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway and Sean Davis — leading up to the 2020 election." . . .

. . . "Easterly led CISA from July 2021 to January 2025, a time period during which she oversaw the agency’s efforts to censor Americans.

"As described in a June 2023 report by the House Judiciary Committee, CISA was originally founded in 2018 “to be an ancillary agency designed to protect ‘critical infrastructure’ and guard against cybersecurity threats.” In the years that followed, however, it “metastasized into the nerve center of the federal government’s domestic surveillance and censorship operations on social media.”

"A separate House committee report released later that year showed that CISA colluded with Stanford University to pressure Big Tech companies into censoring prominent conservative voices — including The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway and Sean Davis — leading up to the 2020 election. The agency’s censorship operations would continue to grow under Easterly’s tenure, with House lawmakers noting its efforts to “camouflage its activities” from the public by 2022 and 2023.

"In addition to ordering Easterly’s termination, Driscoll instructed West Point to “immediately pause all non-governmental and outside groups from selecting employees of the Academy, including instructors, professors, teachers, and shaping academic or developmental lectures.” He further requested the chair of West Point’s Board of Visitors to “conduct an immediate top-down review of the United States Military Academy’s hiring practices.” . . .

Biden's Toxic Nightmare of a Speech Made Americans Miss Trump | Opinion - Newsweek    President Joe Biden has always been a mean, self-serving, demagogic hack. Now he's a mean, self-serving, demagogic hack with clear cognitive issues, an extreme hatred for half of the country, a willingness to weaponize his government against his political opponents, and an easy fluency with lies. All of these dangerous elements were on obvious display during his malicious State of the Union address.

"Biden came off as an unstable, disturbed man who used a speech meant to be a unifying discussion on the state of the country as a launching pad for his re-election campaign, complete with vicious attacks on his predecessor and general election opponent, President Trump, and the tens of millions of Americans who support him. A ferocious attack on America First, the speech was also a tone-deaf celebration of Biden's historically catastrophic record.

"It was reminiscent of his September 2022 speech in Philadelphia, which was marked by a deep red, almost demonic backdrop and dark threats about going to war with "Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans [who] represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic." That unhinged language was resurrected in his State of the Union, reminding us that he has no intention of changing his destructive policy or rhetorical direction." . . .

Joe Biden's Six Biggest Blunders That Tarnished His Legacy - Newsweek  . . . "According to a Gallup poll of 1,003 U.S. adults conducted between December 2 and 18, 2024, and released on January 7, a majority (54 percent) believe Biden will be remembered as a "below average" (17 percent) or "poor" (37 percent) president.

"Biden's presidency has been marked by criticism, including concerns over border security, the state of the economy and his decision to run for reelection in 2024.

"Biden and his supporters highlight key accomplishments, such as passing the Inflation Reduction Act and improving the U.S. economy following the COVID-19 pandemic.

"In a January 15 post on X, formerly Twitter, former President Barack Obama credited Biden with helping transform a "reeling" economy into the world's strongest recovery and passing landmark legislation to rebuild infrastructure and address climate change." . . .
