Alvin Bragg against Trump and "White Man" Marine, Daniel Penny

“Next year, the Manhattan DA will be up for reelection, with the Democratic primary in June. He deserves a serious challenger,” we argue. “So does New York.” Madeleine Kearns

Can't Let Go: New York's Crusading Anti-Trump AG Letitia James Refuses to Drop Civil Fraud Case  . . ."Letitia James joins Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg in the company of “New York’s worst people.” They politicize the justice system and divide the citizenry. This type of lawfare, and people like James, are exactly what voters made very clear in the November elections that they are sick and tired of."  Next comes the usual "hey-hey, ho-ho" schtick

Bragg was not in the courtroom when the verdict was read nor did he argue the case at trial. He directed his underlings to do most of the dirty work.   ..."Assistant district attorney Jillian Shartrand repeatedly referred to Penny as "the white man" in front of the jury in an apparent effort to racially charge the case. At the outset of trial, the prosecution tried to control what witnesses could say about Penny, particularly how they were allowed to characterize him in court. Assistant DA Dafna Yoran said witnesses shouldn't be permitted to praise Penny as a "hero" or "good Samaritan."  Only as "the white man". TD

Daniel Penny’s Innocence—and the Shame of Alvin Bragg   . . ."Bragg’s approach to enforcing the law—or rather, not enforcing it—has been a disaster, as has been true of every city that voted in a so-called progressive prosecutor. As of November 2024, according to the New York Post, there were 27,122 reported felonies, up 16.9 percent from before Bragg took office. Meanwhile, rape has jumped 7.4 percent across Manhattan, robbery 8.9 percent, felony assault 16.8 percent, and grand larceny 29.8 percent. These are crimes that overwhelmingly affect the poorest New Yorkers."

Who cares about BLM?
. . .Dropping the manslaughter charge at the request of Alvin Bragg and his chipmunks was supposed to render a guilty verdict on the lesser-and-included charge. It failed.  Pressure from BLM and the media also failed." . . .

Eye-Opening Arrest: Luigi Mangione Detained in Nation-Rocking Shooting, Dragging Political Family Into Scandal

Wayne Dupree    "Key Takeways:

  • Luigi Mangione was detained for his role in a major shooting, drawing media attention and impacting his cousin, Maryland State Delegate Antonio ‘Nino’ Mangione.
  • Media outlets, including Fox News, questioned Nino’s inaction and stressed vigilance within personal circles.
  • Luigi’s capture, thanks to an alert McDonald’s customer, raises concerns about its impact on Nino’s political career.

"Authorities detained Luigi Mangione on suspicion of his involvement in the recent nation-shaking shooting, which negatively impacted his family’s reputation, especially that of his cousin, Maryland State Delegate Antonio ‘Nino’ Mangione.

"This incident has sparked a flurry of media attention, bringing to light the unexpected connection between a high-profile crime and a political figure. As investigators continue to unravel the details of this case, questions mount regarding the dynamics within the Mangione family and how such a significant oversight could occur." . . .

Maryland Del. Mangione related to suspect in health care CEO’s killing

"Antonino D. Mangione (born April 1, 1987) is an American politician from the Republican Party who is a member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 42A since 2023, and District 42B from 2019 to 2023. He also served as a Baltimore County co-chair for the state's Trump Victory Leadership County team. . . ."

Luigi Mangione’s prominent relatives ‘shocked and devastated’ by his murder arrest | The Independent  "Luigi Mangione's family couldn't merely afford medical care. They could afford to donate more than $1 million of their own money to healthcare.

"That’s according to a report Monday from The Baltimore Banner, which chronicles the wealthy family history of the man charged with murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

"Following the news of Mangione’s arrest Monday, his family released a statement saying they were “shocked.”

" 'Unfortunately, we cannot comment on news reports regarding Luigi Mangione,” said the family in a statement posted on X by Luigi’s cousin Nino Mangione, a Republican member of the lower house of Maryland’s state legislature. “We only know what we have read in the media.”

"He noted: “Our family is shocked and devastated by Luigi’s arrest. We offer our prayers to the family of Brian Thompson, and we ask people to pray for all involved.”. . .

Vox Media Drops Taylor Lorenz Amid Backlash Over Controversial Healthcare Comments

"However, Lorenz’s online behavior has continually attracted scrutiny and criticism, casting a shadow over her professional achievements. Her recent comments on social media regarding the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson have sparked intense debate and backlash."

The ‘Tolerant’ Left Sure Does Like Assassinations

Issues & Insights

. . ."And who hates America? Oh, right, those on the left."

They all have a manifesto, don't they?

"A manifesto recovered from the alleged shooter of UnitedHeathCare CEO Brian Thompson says that “These parasites had it coming” and “I do apologize for any strife and trauma, but it had to be done.”

This is music to the ears of many on the left, who cheered when they learned that Thompson had been gunned down and are treating the shooter as some sort of folk hero.

“Social media users have sometimes outright gloated at the killing,” is how The Hill put it, describing it as an expression of “populist rage” and then spending the rest of the article trying to obliquely pin the blame on Donald Trump.

"The Atlantic dismissed the “mockery and disdain” of the cold-blooded murder as an “expression of widespread fury at a broken system.”

"Former Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz reposted an article about how Blue Cross Blue Shield will no longer cover anesthesia for the full length of some surgeries, adding, “And people wonder why we want these executives dead.”

“ 'Saturday Night Live” joked that “it really says something about America that a guy was murdered in cold blood and the two main reactions were, ‘Yeah, well health care stinks!’ And also, ‘Girl, that shooter hot.’ “

"If this reminds you of anything it should. Because the same cast of miscreants cheered the would-be assassin of Donald Trump as well.

"In fact, the only problem they could find was that the shooter’s aim was off.

"The left had effectively been calling for Trump’s assassination for years. Every time they described him as a “threat to democracy,” compared him to Hitler, and said that he had to be “stopped at all costs,” it was a call to action that at least two would-be assassins heard.

"Is this sort of bloodlust confined to the left? Of course not. But if you follow the pundit class, you’d believe that it’s entirely contained on the conservative side of the spectrum.

"The truth is that leftists are far more prone to want to murder their opponents because they’ve been infected by the Marxist-power-struggle virus, which leads them to think that the murder of a political opponent is always justifiable homicide.

"In the case of health care, the left will never be satisfied until the government controls the entire system, soup to nuts, with Sen. Bernie Sanders making decisions about which patients live or die. If that means sacrificing a few health insurance CEOs on the road to this socialist Nirvana, so be it." . . .

"In the midst of this sickness, there were some voices expressing common sense.". . .

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to appear in pro-transgender Broadway musical

Andrea Widburg

. . ."However, a judge should not participate in extrajudicial activities that detract from the dignity of the judge’s office, interfere with the performance of the judge’s official duties, [or] reflect adversely on the judge’s impartiality..."

"[Ketanji} Brown Jackson may not know what a woman is, but she knows what it is to go to bed one night as just an ordinary Supreme Court justice and to wake up the next day as a Broadway star. Yup, she’s hitting the Great White Way (or, maybe, in her case, the Great Black Way) to fulfill a childhood dream: taking a turn in a Broadway musical.

"Interestingly, the particular musical she’s chosen, “& Juliet,” is a tawdry pro-transgender show. I think we can now guess how Jackson will vote on Tennessee’s “no ‘gender-affirming’ care on minors” law.

"The Hill reported Jackson’s dream come true, including offering an anodyne description of this particular musical:

The 54-year-old justice will appear in a walk-on role in the Broadway musical comedy “& Juliet” on Saturday night, the production and a Supreme Court official confirmed Monday.

[snip]

“& Juliet” is a modern take on William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet,” in which the female protagonist “ditches her famous ending for a fresh beginning and a second change [sic] at life and love — her way,” according to a promotional site. The musical features ’90s and early aughts pop songs from the likes of Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys and Kelly Clarkson.

"An updated take on Romeo and Juliet sounds fairly innocent, but don’t be fooled. This is yet another Broadway show that is really an homage to deviant sexuality, particularly so-called transgenderism. Here’s my trimmed-down version of Wikipedia’s minute plot description:" . . .

Trump will reverse Biden’s Israel delusions and bring an era of Mideast peace

Israel deserves better allies than Carter, Obama, and Biden. TD

 Caroline Glick

. . ."Biden and his team have blocked Israel from attacking Iran’s nuclear installations, arguing that such a strike will cause a regional war that will force direct US military involvement. Trump recognizes that by attacking Iran’s nuclear installations, Israel will end the regional war that has been raging for 400 days — and enable the United States to stay out of the hostilities." . . .

"On Sunday, Israel reportedly killed Hezbollah terror boss Ali Musa Daqduq in Syria, bringing a measure of justice to the US military’s Iraq war veterans.

"In 2007, Daqduq and his underlings infiltrated a US base in Karbala, Iraq, killing one soldier and kidnapping — and later brutally executing — four more. CENTCOM sources on Monday expressed confidence that Daqduq had in fact been slain.

"Israeli forces have killed hundreds of terrorists with American blood on their hands since Iran launched its seven-front war against the Jewish state last year.

"Yet their achievements have made President Biden and his advisers uncomfortable — because they expose the truth that the Biden team has refused to countenance.

"Israel’s enemies are America’s enemies. And when Israel defeats its enemies, America wins.

Biden and his team are not alone in their discomfort. For over 30 years, the US foreign policy establishment produced one failed policy after another, because its members collectively refused to reconcile themselves to the fact that Israel is America’s greatest ally in the Middle East.

"Instead, they all insisted that Israel is the source of regional instability and that the only way to forge peace was for Israel to appease its enemies — all of whom seek its annihilation.

"Since that is a self-evidently impossible goal, all of those efforts failed.

"Cycles of US-induced appeasement, instability, terror and war led to further US-induced appeasement, and the pattern circled on and on and on.

"Donald Trump is the only US president in the past 30 years who insisted that reality be his guide.

"His willingness to recognize Israel as America’s greatest regional ally enabled him to see that the more powerful Israel is, the less America has to do. Conversely, the weaker Israel is, the more America has to do.

"For his part, Benjamin Netanyahu is the only Israeli leader in the past generation who has refused to play along with the delusions of America’s elite.

"Only Netanyahu has refused to accept blame for the pathologies of Israel’s enemies. He alone has refused to empower them for fear of unpleasant confrontations with Washington." ..

"Without their nuclear installations, their terror proxies or their oil revenues, and faced with an American administration committed to standing with Israel, Iran’s jihadist regime will soon lose its grip on powerThe long-suffering Iranian people will finally be in a position to overthrow and replace the ayatollahs. With the threat of Iran removed, and Israel the unquestioned victor in the war, Trump and Netanyahu will usher in a new era of peace."

To Move Forward, Democrats Must Oust Obama

John Kass

"Obama honors himself at every opportunity. But he is America’s one-eyed jack. And we’ve seen the other side of his face."

"The historic political comeback of Donald Trump has left Democrats largely unable and unwilling to process what they’ve done to themselves.

"Yes, they whine and cry and emote, like wounded adolescent narcissists, because that’s all they can do.  What of cold-eyed analysis that might compel them to make difficult choices and save what remains of their party? No. They’re afraid. That is beyond them now. They’re locked in their doom loop.

"In granting Trump the White House through an electoral college landslide and popular vote, American voters also made it clear that they were fed up with leftist ideology. This includes allowing criminal gangs to bring poisonous fentanyl over the Democrat open borders, to those do-nothing Soros prosecutors and the crown signature jewel of the Marxist Obama left that eviscerated merit and used racism to awarded American resources:  DEI."But how did America get to the point where Republicans, once the country club white shoe party of the Bush family, could begin to wrestle with Democrats for the votes of the working class, minorities and women? How did the Republicans win so decisively?

"It was Trump. What he did in remaking the Republican Party is simply astounding. But first he had to politically eviscerate the Bush family political dynasty that controlled the GOP. And so he relentlessly attacked Jeb!, then the standard bearer of the Bush clan for the disastrous war in Iraq, which slaughtered  thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis while wasting trillions of American dollars on this and other endless neo-con forever wars." . . .

Argus Hamilton's Rogue Report 12/9/2024

12/9/2024 - Argus Hamilton     Democratic Party officials asked Kamala to stop sending out e-mails asking people for donations to help retire her $20 million debt after her campaign spent over $1 billion in a losing effort. It's really sad. The Biden administration's inflation is so bad you can't even buy an election for $1 billion anymore.

President Biden escaped the media blowback from pardoning Hunter on Sunday by immediately flying off to Africa. He did have one last chore. Before taking off in Air Force One, President Biden issued a second pardon for Hunter absolving him for any crimes he might commit while Joe is in the air.

President Biden was welcomed in Angola Monday where he strolled the city streets accompanied by a marching band. Joe refused to discuss the pardon. For his part, Hunter waved his pardon at the White House Secret Service station and demanded they return his plastic baggie full of cocaine.

Hunter Biden's pardon stopped any future probe of his overseas influence peddling in China and Ukraine that netted Joe Biden and his family millions. At the height of the Watergate scandal in 1973, President Nixon famously declared that I am not a crook. And he wasn't, by today's standards.

FBI former deputy director Andrew McCabe issued a dire warning over Trump's nomination of loyalist Kash Patel as his FBI Director. He won't go with the flow. The agency fears if Kash Patel takes over the FBI, the first thing he would likely do is to cancel all plans to assassinate Donald Trump.

New York Mayor Eric Adams told reporters he will work with Trump to try to deport the 60,000 criminal illegal aliens in New York City. Deportation is apart from the problem of lenient New York judges. One illegal criminal was convicted of robbing a corner grocery in New York and sentenced to fly coach.

The Weather Channel reports a winter storm slammed into the Eastern Seaboard producing thick fluffy snowstorms burying western New York State. Don't even ask the wind chill. It's so cold in New York City that New Yorkers are now urinating at home before they go to work instead of in the subways.

New Jersey former U.S. Senator Bob Menendez is awaiting sentencing following his conviction on 16 counts of taking bribes from Egypt. The Egyptians have a lot of catching up to do with us. The only reason the Pyramids are still in Egypt is because they're too heavy to carry to the British Museum.

Donald Trump posed for pictures with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at dinner at Mar a Lago over the past weekend. This dinner came at a political cost for the president-elect. Cuban Americans in South Florida were outraged that Trump broke bread with a member of the Castro family.

Donald Trump hosted Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Palm Beach where he joked that Canada might as well become the U.S. 51st state. Trump's actually playing poker with Biden. He's saying I'll see your 20 million illegal Central Americans, Joe, and raise you the Great White North.

Remember when many used to respect and vote for Democrats? Before Carter, Obama, and whatever we have had lately.

Biden’s HHS Celebrates ‘Pansexual and Panromantic Pride Day’

. . .“Today on Pansexual and Panromantic Pride Day, everyone deserves to feel seen, respected and supported—no matter who they love. Create a world where everyone feels proud to be themselves!” the HHS post reads.

"The post was met with many comments slamming the Biden administration’s priorities and looking forward to the coming Trump administration in January.". . .

. . ."The Biden administration has also openly advocated for child sex changes, and hosted “Pride” celebrations at the White House, including a topless transgender activist and drag queens.

"Many officials within the Biden administration identify as LGBTQ+, including HHS secretary Rachel Levine, a man who pretends to be a woman, and Sam Brinton, an “openly genderfluid” former Department of Energy official accused of stealing women’s luggage." . . .

Tommy Tuberville Shares What We're All Wondering About the Hunter Biden Pardon   . . ."As OutKick so aptly put it, Tuberville very much "Took A BLOWTORCH To The Biden Family." The pardon for Hunter isn't merely noteworthy when it comes to the first son's crimes and convictions, but the timeframe. The pardon dates back to nearly 11 years, when Joe Biden was actually in office as the vice president.

"In speaking with Dakick, Tuberville repeated what he had said earlier that week to a gaggle of press, which is that "that's his son, most parents would do that." It goes deeper than that, though, as Tuberville lambasted the corruption involved.

" 'Number one, it's the most corrupt political family, even more than the Clintons, that's been in politics all their life. They have taken millions of dollars from Ukraine, from China. It's a known fact. The money has gone into the banks, millions of dollars to grandkids, the kids, to Biden himself. They made a fortune off this country, off the American taxpayers. They haven't paid taxes on it. The kid is a drug addict. He'll never get off crack. He can't get off of it. He's got huge problems," Tuberville shared, speaking about the Biden family as a whole and specifically about Hunter." . . .

. . ."Is Hunter's pardon the end of the road? Tuberville doesn't believe so. In fact, he doesn't even think this is "the big pardon."

"So at the end of the day, this is not the big--the big pardon," Tuberville previewed. "I think the pardons coming down the road with his brother and the rest of his family members are going to be the ones that are going to look around and go, 'what do they need pardons for?'" Sure enough, there's been speculation that the president may pardon his brother, Jim Biden. There's also been reports that Biden is considering preemptive pardons for Dr. Anthony Fauci, Sen.-elect Adam Schiff (D-CA), and former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY).

"Tuberville also went on to bring up another reason why 2014, which is when the pardon for Hunter goes back to, is relevant." . . .

JUSTICE SERVED: Daniel Penny Jurors Reach Their Verdict: Not Guilty!

Not what the Soros family wanted. TD

RedState

. . ."This verdict sends a message to George Soros-backed prosecutors across the country—Americans are tired of living in fear as criminals walk free and heroes sit in courtrooms. It’s a rare occasion that we can say, “Good job, New York jury!” Enjoy your life as a free man, Daniel Penny. You deserve it."

"In a victory for justice in America, the Daniel Penny jury has made their decision, and they found him not guilty of negligent homicide in the death of Jordan Neely." . . .

"Penny was prosecuted by soft-on-crime Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, a move which outraged many.  TRAGEDY: Daniel Penny Case Shows the Utter Failure of Progressivism

. . ."Penny had subdued the assailant, Jordan Neely, a homeless man who had a long rap sheet and a history of mental illness, when he burst onto a New York City subway train in May and started threatening to kill people. Former Marine Penny grabbed the assailant, restrained him, and prevented him from hurting the other passengers until police belatedly arrived.

"Neely was still breathing when Penny released the hold and let police and first responders tend to him. However, Neely later died, and Bragg’s office inexplicably brought charges against the hero."

"Mr. Penny, you have no further business before this court, you are discharged," judge says. He leaves from the side, unusually, so he doesn't have to run the gauntlet of this now very hostile (verbally) audience of crying, yelling people."  Nicole on X  What, oh what, will Joy Reid say?

Daniel Penny has been acquitted in the death of Jordan Neely.   . . ."Ahead of closing arguments on December 2, as Penny — as well as all 12 jurors — arrived at the courthouse, a mob of BLM protestors chanted, "Guilty! Guilty! Guilty!"

"Since jury selection, BLM activists have protested out front every day of trial, holding signs accusing Penny of "Racist Vigilantism" and "White Supremacist Violence." Others demanded that the jury "Convict Daniel Penny" for "This Modern Lynching."

"Notably, Penny wasn't arrested until 11 days after Neely died  — when the BLM lobby, hoping to make Neely the next George Floyd, successfully pressured Bragg's office to prosecute Penny.

"Throughout the trial, Bragg's underlings also tried to racially charge the case. Prosecutors claimed Penny "didn't recognize that Jordan Neely was a person" and saw him as someone who "needed to be eliminated," although they themselves depersonalized Penny, reducing him to his race in front of the jury." . . . What were BLM's motives?

Assistant district attorney Jillian Shartrand repeatedly referred to Penny as "the white man." At another point in the prosecution, a witness was asked: "Did it look like the white man was squeezing the black man's neck?" And one of the prosecution's witnesses, Johnny Grima, an unemployed homeless activist convicted of bashing someone with a bat, was permitted to point-blank call Penny a "murderer."

The old “no justice, no peace” schtick again.

Daniel Penny acquitted in subway chokehold death of Jordan Neely as crowd breaks out in applause " Penny immediately broke out a huge smile and turned to hug defense attorney Thomas Kenniff — even as Neely’s father, Andre Zachary, was escorted from the courtroom.

"“Racist f—ing country,” one Black Lives Matter supporter yelled as she left the room. Another Neely supporter, turning to Penney, screamed, “It’s a small world, buddy,” before leaving the room.

. . ."Jurors sided with Penny’s defense attorneys, who had argued that the Marine veteran was justified in rushing to protect his fellow subway straphangers when he subdued the erratic homeless man. The lawyers had also questioned whether there was sufficient evidence that the chokehold caused Neely’s death.

" 'Who do you want on the next train ride with you?” one of his lawyers, Steven Raiser, in his closing statement in Manhattan Supreme Court."

" 'The guy with the earbuds minding his own business who you know would be there for you if something happened? Or perhaps you just hope that someone like Jordan Neely does not enter that train when you are all alone, all alone in a crowd of others frozen with fear?”

"The lawyers had also questioned whether there was sufficient evidence that the chokehold caused Neely’s death." . . .

"President Donald Trump joined far-left NBC reporter Kristen Welker on Meet the Press on Sunday morning.

"Welker performed as you would expect, with one demeaning question after another, ignoring the current state of the country under Democrat rule for four long-disastrous years. This was not a surprise.

"Welker is like any other legacy media reporter—blind to the harsh realities Americans are facing today and ready to pounce on President Trump and spread media lies like she did for four years during his previous administration.

"Welker also allowed Joe Biden to lie openly during the presidential debate she moderated to the American public about the 51 spies who insisted the Hunter Biden laptop scandal was a Russian op.

The disgraceful Daniel Penny case has gotten even worse and less lawful

 John Dale Dunn

The case in New York City against Daniel Penny is a shambolic and, arguably, unconstitutional mess. Based on the nexus of the facts and New York self-defense law, the case should never have been filed. The trial has been conducted along unconstitutional racial lines, and the judge, faced with a hung jury, did something that was definitely unprecedented and is arguably unconstitutional.

. . ."It's hard to know at this point whether the jury, having been relieved of the burden of manslaughter, will now become a hung jury as to the negligent homicide. Or will having a lesser charge assuage the conscience of the holdouts and see them agree to imprison Penny for only four, not 14 years? Will the screaming mobs they’ll see all weekend (despite the judge’s order that they put the case out of their minds) affect their decision now that they have an easier out? The jury is not protected and they are vulnerable, something that Judge Wiley finds acceptable.

"And if they are again a hung jury, will Alvin Bragg, a fanatic racialist, retry the negligent homicide case? We know that race is a motivating factor in the case because Dafna Yoran, the prosecuting attorney, relentlessly referred to him as “the white man,” both during questioning and in her closing argument. The judge should have granted the defense’s motion for a mistrial but, reliably, did not.

"As McCarthy says, this is disgraceful, but it’s also a dangerous precedent. A New York judge has abandoned even the pretense of impartial justice and has openly sided with the racist, baying mob."

John Dale Dunn MD JD is an emergency physician and attorney, both for more than 40 years who lives in Brownwood, Texas.
