Who has been playing the Race Card lately? "Victicrats", says Larry Elder

Rick Moran: Ex-Sports loudmouth says we're closet racists for not supporting Obama
"Mike Lupica should have stuck with sports. At least then, his opinionated rants would have been about meaninglerss drivel instead of issues of consequence.
"There is nothing new to ascribing racist attitudes in opposing the president. But how about opining that even his supporters are a bunch of "scummy bigots." "
WND: THE OBAMA RACE CARD  "To liberals in 2008, it was indeed time for a particular black president, and while Obama might not be the most qualified man to ever run for the office, he was qualified because of his agenda. “He’s one of us. He’s a progressive.”
"Many Americans were not only open to the idea, they were enthusiastic about it. Polling data showed that Obama’s race was a huge positive, not a negative."

Victor Davis Hanson: The Trayvon Martin Case and the Growing Racial Divide  "The problem with the race establishment is not its acrimony per se, but (a) that the acrimony is frozen in amber around 1960, with no acknowledgment of some 50 years of federal action and three new generations of Americans, and (b) the inordinate time invested in blaming “them” rather than spent on introspection on how to achieve parity with a majority culture in the manner of other minorities’ successes. Or at least that is how I perceive the growing anger at the Sharpton/Jackson/Black Caucus nexus."
Larry Elder: Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee -- And the Race Card  Here's the thing. Obama could easily pick up the phone and tell Democratic Party leaders to drop the victicrat* race card crap. Knock it off. Sadly, he chooses not to do so. After all, the first black president, with his approval ratings in the low 40s, was equally black when his numbers stood at 70 percent.
"Snap out of it, Congresswoman Lee. It isn't the color of his skin -- it is the complete and total rejection of his policies."
*"Victicrat".Great word, Mr. Elder!
Thomas Sowell: Holder's Chutzpah "Since millions of black Americans -- like millions of white Americans -- are confronted with demands for photo identification at airports, banks and innumerable other institutions, it is a little much to claim that requiring the same thing to vote is denying the right to vote. But Holder's chutzpah is up to the task.
"Attorney General Holder claims that the states' requirement of photo identification for voting, in order to prevent voter fraud, is just a pretext for discriminating against blacks and other minorities. He apparently sees no voter fraud, hears no voter fraud and speaks no voter fraud."
As does Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee in her official site.  She calls it "voter purge".
Conservative Black Chick: Tolerant” Dems Think It’s OK to Insult Black Republican Women Because They Aren’t Black like Dems Want Them to Be  "Not a day goes that I’m not bombarded by an arsenal of crude names on twitter or via email because I’m a black Republican and don’t worship Barack Obama or think his being elected the first black president of America is the greatest thing he should be expected to achieve as president. Some of the names include “whore, u wanna be white ass kissing black republicans, and wanna be white oreo.” "

noun Rhetoric .
1. obvious and intentional exaggeration.
2. an extravagant statement or figure of speech not intended to be taken literally, as “to wait aneternity.”
The Tampa Bay Times has an editorial today about Governor Rick Scott of Florida.  It outlandishly compares him to George Wallace, complete with a photo of Wallace at the school house door.  Desperate tactics by desperate folks are unfortunately predictable.  The law of diminishing returns makes charges of racism incrementally less effective, especially when the underlying dispute involves illegally registered voters.
Accusing someone of being a racist who isn't is the worst sort of false witness.  The Tampa Bay Times should be ashamed.
More here on applying the word "purges" to voter ID requirements
