RealClearPolitics "George Washington University Law School professor Jonathan Turley on Saturday appeared on FOX News to react to the Twitter Files hearing in the House. Turley said the hearing was like a Soviet show trial because Democrats were outraged when Republicans allowed witnesses to respond to allegations made by the Democrats.
" 'You had Democrats who accused former members of Congress of being Putin lovers and conspiracy theorists," Turley said. "All they were doing was raising free-speech concerns but what really was shocking in the last hearing is the Democrats have now severed their connection to the free press and the values underlying the free press."" 'You had members openly calling for sources and when these journalists refused to do it, you had members like Congresswoman [Sylvia] Garcia (D-TX) and Delegate [Stacey] Plaskett (D-VI) saying, 'Oh, well, I think you just confirmed that Musk is your source because you wouldn't say that he wasn't.' It was just otherworldly," Turley said of the hearing.". . .
He accused Schiff and Swalwell of lying “time and time again” during their tenure on the House Intelligence Committee, which oversees the FBI, the CIA, and other national security agencies.
McCarthy did not explain Saturday what Schiff allegedly lied about. In the past he has accused Schiff of lying when he claimed he did not know the whistleblower who had first-hand knowledge that Trump tried to get Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden.
“When a whistleblower came forward, [Schiff] said he did not know the individual even though his staff had met with him and set it up,” McCarthy told reporters in January.
"In the same speech, McCarthy also tore into California Governor Gavin Newsom.". . .

Eric Swalwell Wants to Ban Conservative News From the Military (townhall.com)
. . ."In response, Swalwell suggested banning Fox News from the military bases may be in the cards. However, he did acknowledge the idea might not go over well since the network is popular among service members.
“ 'Nothing makes them feel more like home than their access to American television programming,” Swalwell said. “I don’t want to get in the business of telling troops what they can and cannot watch. But, if you have a news station that a court is going to rule is, in its evening hour, you know, perpetuating dis- and misinformation, I don’t know if I disagree with VoteVets, who was saying that we need to take a look at, you know, how this is being broadcast to our troops.' ”
