WOW! Here is the Sneaky GOP Senator Behind Pete Hegseth’s Ex-Sister-in-Law’s 11th Hour Hit Piece Affidavit

The Gateway Pundit

"Tillis ended up voting “yes” to confirm Hegseth on Friday – Murkowski, Collins and McConnell all voted no so Vice President JD Vance had to come in with the tie-breaker."

"The Wall Street Journal revealed that GOP Senator Thom Tillis was behind helping Pete Hegseth’s former sister-in-law get her 11th hour affidavit with allegations of abuse to Senators before the confirmation vote.

"As previously reported, Senators received an 11th hour affidavit with spousal abuse allegations against Trump’s Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth ahead of his confirmation vote.

"An affidavit from Hegseth’s former sister-in-law, Danielle Hegseth, alleging “instances of abuse” and “mistreatment of a former spouse” involving Hegseth’s second wife, Samantha Hegseth, was submitted to senators.

"Samantha Hegseth responded to the allegations via email, according to NBC News: “First and foremost, I have not and will not comment on my marriage to Pete Hegseth. I do not have representatives speaking on my behalf, nor have I ever asked anyone to share or speak about the details of my marriage on my behalf, whether it be a reporter, a committee member, a transition team member, etc.”

"Samantha Hegseth added, “I do not believe your information to be accurate, and I have cc’d my lawyer.”

“ 'There was no physical abuse in my marriage. This is the only further statement I will make to you, I have let you know that I am not speaking and will not speak on my marriage to Pete. Please respect this decision.' ” . . .

Tillis' turnaround was - I feel - good in this case, but damaging to him.

Sen. Thom Tillis’s latest maddening but unsurprising flipflop

. . ."When I explained to a Democratic lawmaker that a restrictive abortion bill that was about to be debated on the House floor did not have an exception for rape or incest, he appeared flabbergasted. He then looked me in the eye to assure me that he would only vote for a bill that contained those exceptions. The bill did not have any such exceptions. This legislator cast his YES vote anyway. Far from being a career-ending vote, he was rewarded with a committee chairmanship when the Republicans took the majority in the House." . . .
