"Democrat Texas Senate nominee James Talarico is catching heat after declaring that illegal immigrants were his “most patriotic” students when he worked as a public school teacher.

"In a recent live interview on The Bulwark Podcast with host Tim Miller, Talarico boasted about his time teaching in San Antonio and how illegal aliens were more patriotic than Americans.

“'Before I was a politician, I was a public school teacher in San Antonio, Texas, on the west side of the city, and I taught a lot of undocumented students, and those students tended to be my most patriotic students,” Talarico claimed.

"Talarico didn’t stop there. He doubled down, claiming these illegal aliens “understood something about this country that a lot of us who are native born forget,” calling America “the land of opportunity” and “the place where dreams come true.”
