THIS QUOTE MAY REVEAL THAT HUNTSMAN IS OBAMA'S STALKING HORSE

The Free Dictionary   stalk·ing-horse (stôkng-hôrs) n.
1. Something used to cover one's true purpose; a decoy.
2. A sham candidate put forward to conceal the candidacy of another or to divide the opposition.
3. a. A horse trained to conceal the hunter while stalking.
    b. A canvas screen made in the figure of a horse, used for similar concealment.
Wikipedia" The expression is generally used in politics and business. In politics, the circumstances are an attempt to bring down a powerful leader, usually by members of their own party"

Boston.com  "Republican Jon Huntsman today refused to rule out running as an independent candidate for president should he fail in his quest for his party’s 2012 nomination.
"Asked, “Is there any situation in which you would run for president as an independent?” Huntsman told The Boston Globe, “I don’t think so.” "  Via Astute Bloggers

Huntsman Says He Won't Run as Third Party Candidate  "Some political watchers have suggested that should Governor Huntsman not win the Republican nomination, he could run as a third party candidate. When pressed on this point by anchor Chris Wallace, Huntsman unequivocally said that he would not run as an independent and that he would support the Republican nominee."   However...

Jon Huntsman Hesitates To Answer Chris Wallace Whether He Will Make An Independent 2012 Bid“Can you flatly state right now that you will support the Republican nominee and you will not run as an independent?” “I’m running as a Republican, that’s where I am,” Huntsman responded, which Wallace noted was “not a denial.” Huntsman did eventually confirm he would support the Republican nominee after the second prodding, however, but his hesitation may be a red flag for those who suspect he may be dissatisfied with what his party has to offer.

Maxine Waters Will Replace Bawney Fwank As Top Dem On Powerful House Financial Services Committee…

Weasel Zippers  "Here’s something that will keep you up at night, if the Dems retake the House Maxine Waters will be the chairwoman."

The Hill has this:
"“Rep. Frank has always been a formidable but fair legislator who understands financial markets and the indispensable role banks play in the broader economy,” Frank Keating, the chief executive of the American Bankers Association, said in a Monday statement.
"Waters, on the other hand, is seen as more of a hard-line opponent.“She’s not a good face of the issues,” one financial executive said. “She’s too much of a bomb thrower.” "
....
"In making their choice, party leaders will have to face other knotty issues, most notably an ethics investigation centered on Waters and her husband’s business interests."
....
"Waters is expected to gain the support of the Congressional Black Caucus as she angles for the top spot."

Victor Davis Hanson: Why Not Pay Higher Taxes?

Victor Davis Hanson  "The usual liberal complaint against the conservative opposition to higher income taxes is greed and the better-offs’ self-serving reluctance to pay their “fair share.” But while perhaps true in some instances, I don’t think that is an accurate writ against most of those in that now demonized $200,000 and above categories who resent forking over more. Rather, here are a random 12 complaints that I hear from those who become furious about preposed higher income tax rates:"...

The Castor Oil Candidate

Rich Terrell  tells it the way it is. Another typical hold-your-nose-and-vote Republican candidate in a long line of them.

"But, if perception is reality, Mitt Romney is the prince of flip-flops — and, if the Grand Ol’ Party nominates him, every Republican everywhere had better be prepared to counter the argument that Romney has no core — and will say and do whatever it takes to get elected."....
"If Romney is the prince of flip-flops, Obama is the king. (See here for a partial list.) That’s cold comfort for any voter who’s looking for actual conviction (including me!), but it’s still an important differentiation to make. And as far as “cores” go, what core I suspect Obama of having is very far to the left of Mitt Romney’s. Please let’s not forget that."

Neal Boortz: Meanwhile ... Newt continues to rise "Their track record for picking the next president may be hit or miss, but it is good boost in a state where Mitt Romney is currently dominating in the polls. When asked about Mitt Romney, the editorial page editor for the Union Leader, Drew Cline, explains, "Romney's a guy who wants to be liked, a politician who wants to be liked. Gingrich is a politician who wants to be respected." I rather like that difference, but at the same time if the voters don’t like the GOP nominee Obama is going to get four more years to “fundamentally transform” the United States.
"I guess it seems like brains and respect are winning out over likability. Hey, Barack Obama was likeable, and look where that got us. Moving right along …"

Chris Christie on the Super Committee: What the hell are we paying Obama for?

Hot Air  "Granted, the Committee’s failure further weakens America’s creditworthiness, but on the upside, it’s super helpful to Obama’s campaign narrative about a “do-nothing Congress.” And don’t think both sides on the Committee weren’t keenly aware of it."

NYT Says New Climate E-Mails Are A Crime   "Just like back in 2009, the New York Times and the rest of the mainstream media and the rest of the Democrat Party are outraged at the supposed crime of hacking into computers.
"Even though these emails have been the subject of countless ‘freedom of information’ requests that have been illegally stonewalled by the universities and ‘scientists.’ And never mind that The Times and the rest of the media never question the legality or sources of the national security secrets they publish on a nearly daily basis.
"And never mind that Bradley Manning, who leaked the WikiLeaks material, is the New York Times poster boy for heroism. (And not just because he is a homosexual.) Lest we forget, those leaks have probably costs the lives of untold numbers of people around the world. Meanwhile, these leaks will do nothing worse than save taxpayers untold billions."

Legal Insurrection: Jeremiah Wright still scares Democrats  "...this was nothing more than a pre-emptive Democratic attempt to make it toxic for anyone to bring up Obama’s long association with Wright by making charges of racism even when Wright is not mentioned. That shows you how much the Democrats fear a true investigation of Obama’s background and his ridiculously incredible claims that he did not know that his pastor and mentor was a race-baiting flame thrower."

America: Future of Freedom or Future of Tyranny?

Conservative Daily News   Excerpts here from a lengthier article by Bob Russell

"This is an open letter to those in America who still support, and will vote for, Barack Obama and the Democrats in 2012. It is also for those who will blindly support Republicans because they aren’t Democrats. Please take time to read through this and really think about what I say. Don’t read this through the eyes of politics or party line rhetoric, read this as an American citizen."
....
"Take a look at your “class” in life. Take an honest look at your life, your income, the taxes you pay and your overall prognosis for the future. Now look at history. Who suffered in the French Revolution? Lots of rich people lost their heads but where did their wealth go? Did the peasants come out wealthy or did they suffer even more poverty? Go back and take a look at the Russian Revolution in 1917 and see how the poor came out on that one. Study the aftermath of World War I and the poverty that ensued in Germany. Look at how Adolph Hitler got control of Germany and how he went about his evil task. It didn’t start in 1939 with the invasion of Poland and Hitler didn’t do it by himself. He had a willing parliament, complicit media, and a desperate populace. Take a stroll through history, look the information up and find the truth. Then look at what your government has done here, just in the last 10 years.  Go look at the last 10 years in the history of Venezuela. See how Hugo Chavez has taken complete control of that nation.
"I am a father, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, a veteran, and a patriot. I have seen my freedom and the opportunities for my grandchildren seep away one at a time until a nation that was once crowded with opportunity and freedom has become a very lonely place. If you look at history you can see where we are now and where we are headed."

The Real Meaning of Thanksgiving: The Triumph of Capitalism over Collectivism

American Institute for Economic Research  "In the New World, they wanted to erect a New Jerusalem that would not only be religiously devout, but be built on a new foundation of communal sharing and social altruism. Their goal was the communism of Plato’s Republic, in which all would work and share in common, knowing neither private property nor self-interested acquisitiveness.
"What resulted is recorded in the diary of Governor William Bradford, the head of the colony. The colonists collectively cleared and worked land, but they brought forth neither the bountiful harvest they hoped for, nor did it create a spirit of shared and cheerful brotherhood.
"The less industrious members of the colony came late to their work in the fields, and were slow and easy in their labors. Knowing that they and their families were to receive an equal share of whatever the group produced, they saw little reason to be more diligent their efforts. The harder working among the colonists became resentful that their efforts would be redistributed to the more malingering members of the colony. Soon they, too, were coming late to work and were less energetic in the fields."
....
"In the wilderness of the New World, the Plymouth Pilgrims had progressed from the false dream of communism to the sound realism of capitalism. At a time of economic uncertainty, it is worthwhile recalling this beginning of the American experiment and experience with freedom."

Gabrielle Giffords Special Ruined by Gratuitous Attack on Sarah Palin, Tea Party

(Some egregious writing errors corrected) Being on the road, we had not seen this special until the night before Thanksgiving. It was an excellent documentary and we were captivated by it until late in the show when this slap (article below) at conservatives was inserted without being called for.
How many death threats are cast at conservatives because of the vile rhetoric levelled at them by the so-called "peace and tolerance" people? We have seen them at leftist gatherings where they carry signs saying "Eat the rich" and calls by labor unions to gather at the homes of business owners to intimidate them. How many death threats came to Judge Robert Bork because of the visceral diatribe aimed at him before his Supreme Court appointment hearings?
Shame on liberals and their despicable propaganda aimed at conservatives and shame on Obama, Pelosi and the press who promote this hate.
I'm sorry; that is extreme language. But if the left does not hate, the effect of their words is to produce it in those who listen to them.

Yahoo News   "ABC News and Sawyer committed journalistic malpractice by dredging up the old accusations without also showing evidence that debunked them. Palin and her map had nothing to do with Giffords' shooting, as was implied in the segment. Jared Loughner, Giffords' assailant, was an insane man who likely never heard of Palin and certainly was unaware of the cross hairs map. Yet ABC chose not to mention this."

I'm at my wit's end with Diane Sawyer.
"Crap like this is exactly why I ignore mainstream news sources. I won't watch them. They are nothing more than tabloids to me. Because they can no longer be trusted to deliver just the facts in an objective manner. They very clearly push an agenda now."

Good Morning Bias "At ABC, Sawyer has repeatedly lauded high-profile liberals, including Nancy Pelosi (“galvanized steel with a smile”) and Hillary Clinton (“political mastery,” “dazzling”). She even admitted to co-host Charlie Gibson that she dreamed about Bill Clinton one night after then eating a pepperoni pizza. Sawyer targeted Ken Starr, telling the independent counsel that his report on Bill Clinton’s affair was being criticized as “demented pornography, pornography for Puritans.” She derided the Bush administration’s “massive tax cuts,” championed campaign finance “reform,” and even asked then-candidate Barack Obama to judge whether America is “more racist or more sexist.”"
