Biden calls Buttigieg’s husband ‘Kirsten,’ snubs gay GOP cabinet member

NY Post  "President-elect Joe Biden on Wednesday mangled his rollout of Pete Buttigieg as the “first” gay cabinet nominee — using a female name for Buttigieg’s husband and omitting mention of President Trump having named the first gay cabinet-level official.

"Biden noted his fondness for Buttigieg’s husband “Kirsten” during a speech in Wilmington, Del., as he formally named the former South Bend, Indiana, mayor as his nominee for transportation secretary.

"Biden also snubbed Ric Grenell, whom Trump celebrated this year as the first gay cabinet member when he worked three months as acting director of national intelligence.

“ 'His husband is an educator — always, always the mark of good character, it’s the way I look at it,” Biden said of Buttigieg.

“ 'And by the way, Jill and I have always enjoyed seeing Pete and Kirsten — Chasten, I should say — together on the trail. Chasten has become a close friend of Jill’s and mine.”

"Buttigieg, 38, won the Iowa caucuses in terms of delegate count this year but endorsed Biden in an effort to stop socialist Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who had won the popular vote in the first three states.

"Biden made the embarrassing mistake while saying Buttigieg would be among a “cabinet of firsts.' ” . . .

What Rep. Cleaver did would be laughable if it weren't sacrilegious and stupid

"But try telling that to Emanuel Cleaver (and I still can't get over the fact that this man is a pastor who graduated from the St. Paul School of Theology in Oklahoma City).  When Cleaver, a Democrat United States representative from Missouri, gave the prayer for the 117th Congress on Sunday, he decided to de-gender the word "amen" and added "a-women" to his prayer:.
."

Andrea Widburg  "On Saturday, news broke that the Democrats are going to remove all gendered words from the House of Representatives.  On Sunday, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, a pastor, opened the 117th Congress with a prayer.  At its conclusion, he said "amen," and then added "a-women."  What he said was both stupid and sacrilegious.

I wrote here about the newly "woke" House's push to remove gendered language.  I pointed out that, in English, at least, gendered words fall into two categories.  There are words that describe a job using both male and female terms, such as "chairman v. chairwoman" or "steward v. stewardess."  For the most part, it's not a big deal to change those words.  Indeed, most of them have already been changed in ordinary usage.  We speak of the "chair" or of "flight attendants."

However, the House is also going to do away with gendered words that apply specifically to the realities of human biology.  No longer will there be "sons and daughters" or "mothers and fathers," or any other descriptors that are tied to genetic codes that make people male or female.  Instead, there will be "parents" and "children," as well as other "gender-neutral" language, as if there is no difference between the sexes.

This is not an inconsequential change.  It is, instead, part of the left's entire push to force Americans to deny reality.  Reality is that humans, like all mammals, break down into two sexes: male and female.  The sexes have different body types, different brain structures, and different reproductive functions.

News and "entertainment" media leave a trail of slime

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: I'm hoping Dr. Jill becomes the Surgeon General. Joe Biden's wife. She would never do it but, yeah, she's a hell of a doctor. She's an amazing doctor. -The View, March 4, 2020

Buttering Up Biden: How ‘The View’ Spent 2020, Shilling for Joe Biden  "Even before he was the official Democrat nominee for president, Joe Biden’s friends at The View regularly and religiously propped up his campaign this year. Whether it was parroting the Democrat’s overt lies or even touting his wife’s so-called medical qualifications, the candidate could always count on the talk show hosts to volunteer as his PR team.

"Here's the year's worst examples of the sycophantic hosts defending and protecting the Democrat:" .  . .

Shill:  "A shill is a hustler or con-person who tries to convince other people to buy something or think something is great ( shilling ). The shill has ulterior motives for their actions, usually because they are the actual seller or have something to gain if the product sells well. The word shill has a complicated history, oddly appropriate considering the underhanded meaning of the slang word."

The Media’s Four-Year War Against the Trump Presidency  . . . "While every President has their critics in the press, the Trump presidency has been unique in that a massive percentage of the media — hosts, columnists, commentators, contributors, anchors and working reporters — openly mock and disparage the President of the United States, often to the cheers of their brethren. Here’s eight minutes of their worst:" . . .  Revealing videos showing a contemptible press:

After four years, our research documents a liberal media establishment that jettisoned its last professional restraints to become active opponents of the President of the United States:

There’s something peculiar about the vandalism at Pelosi’s house

  Andrea Widburg

"An ugly story emerged on New Year’s Day: Vandals had attacked Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco house, leaving behind graffiti on her garage complaining about the stimulus bill, along with a pig’s head in a puddle of red paint. People less credulous than the media, though, noticed that the vandals were kind enough to do their dirty deed without touching the brick facing on Pelosi’s house. These may have been polite vandals, or there may be more here than meets the eye.

"A local media outlet, KPIX, reported the story:

The new year brought a disturbing discovery at the San Francisco home of U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, where, early Friday morning, vandals spray-painted her house and left a severed pig’s head in front of her garage.

The graffiti says “Cancel rent” and “We want everything” — possibly referencing coronavirus stimulus checks. There was also a severed pig’s head in a pool of red paint left in front of the garage door.

"The original story made Antifa look simultaneously sympathetic and really bad. The good part was the “cancel rent” statement. The bad part was the vandalism itself. No civilized people want to be victims of ugly graffiti nor do they want it to happen to others, including San Fran Nan, no matter how vile her politics. Moreover, Pelosi’s position may make the vandalism a federal crime.

"At first pass, the photo of the damage is very ugly. The garage door is completely covered with graffiti and the pig’s head is disturbing:" . . .

Punchline in Chief; Comedians should relearn the art of mocking a Democratic president

 National Review

"The incoming president of the United States is a hair-sniffing malarkey farmer who has as much business hosting Tales from the Crypt as he does a state dinner. Perhaps the nation’s comedians ought to say so?"

"That such a charge should be necessary in a free country is evidence of the extent to which progressives have come to control most thought. In 1992, Saturday Night Live’s famous McDonald’s sketch could, without letting down the side, portray President-elect Bill Clinton as a gluttonous womanizer. (“There’s gonna be a whole bunch of things we don’t tell Mrs. Clinton,” a fry-stealing Phil Hartman boasted to an aide.) Today, one is as likely to hear a quip about vegetable RNA as about the man who will soon occupy the White House. According to a recent study by George Mason University’s Center for Media and Public Affairs, the month of September saw a predictable surfeit of political jokes on the late-night programs of Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert. Of the jibes in question, 455 were directed at President Trump. A mere 14 concerned his electoral opponent.

"The problem is not, it should be clear, that Joe Biden is too serious a man to provide grist for the comedy mills. A two-bit hack with a one-bit brain, the new president has a certain low cunning but can’t remember where he put it. Like the iceberg that sank the Titanic, Biden has made a career of being in the right place at the right time. So absurd a figure is our future leader, in fact, that the nation’s jokesters should be throwing whoopee cushions into volcanoes to thank the humor gods. That they aren’t sheds light on a tacit arrangement that is both obnoxious and detrimental to the country: Democrats, no matter how foolish, must never be made into punchlines."

. . . "Though the possibilities for Biden-related humor are endless, fully developed jokes about the incoming head of state can be divided into several distinct categories:"  Outline here; more detail in the article:

Biden is old...

Biden is confused...

Biden is inappropriate...

Combinations thereof. Biden has a plan to win the War of 1812. He has put his hand up many a poodle skirt.

But Obama; now there's a President!

2009: Letterman writer: Obama 'too competent' to make jokes about  . . . "Newsbusters Brent Baker was following the goings on at a comedy writers' panel that took place in Washington recently that featured Letterman joke writer Bill Scheft who had this to say about why Obama is getting a pass from late night shows:

It's not because he's black and it's not because we're afraid. It's just that he's, just so far, just a little too damn competent and we ain't used to that. [multiple panelists say "yeah."]

Beware Mitt's Snits.

Mitt Romney's Trump-hatred is starting to look demonic  "Mitt Romney's singular focus in opposing President Donald Trump is eerie.

"Is it revenge, as President Trump passed on him for secretary of state, or do we see his fight as more sinister still?

"Yesterday, Mitt Romney blasted Josh Hawley, who has stated that he will challenge the electors sent to Congress on January sixth.  Josh Hawley and countless other congressmen and senators are concerned with myriad reports, signed affidavits, video evidence, data dumps, statistic improbabilities, and hacked Dominion tabulating machines strongly suggesting that massive fraud occurred in the 2020 presidential election.

"If one has watched any of the televised testimony or read any reports, it is evident that a possibility exists that mass fraud occurred.  To date, none of this evidence has been given the scrutiny necessary to confirm affirmatively and transparently that Joe Biden legitimately beat Donald Trump.  Democrats are doing everything in their power to suppress this scrutiny.  Sadly, many Republicans, led by Mitt Romney, have worked tirelessly to hide evidence under a basket.

"In September, Mitt Romney blasted GOP senator Ron Johnson and Senate Republicans for their "illegitimate" investigation into Hunter Biden and his ties to China and Ukraine.  Today, after the election, Democrats and their sycophantic media and Big Tech have affirmed the legitimacy of this investigation.  Has Mitt apologized to Mr. Johnson or the American people?

"Does Mitt believe himself a god?*

"Mitt Romney's actions come off as holier than thou.  Does Mitt believe in his own self-righteousness?  Has he attained (in his mind) godlike qualities here on Earth?  Or is he, like the rest of the swamp (and Judas), just working to conceal his own sins?" . . .

"Breitbart News reports that on New Year’s Day, Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) took to CNN’s airwaves, which has lately become a cozy perch where nominal Republicans like him seem to let loose in calling fellow Republicans, including Pres. Trump, “dangerous” to the nation. And he didn’t disappoint the NeverTrump gang with his performance this time." . . .

"So please, Sen. Romney. Spare us your tears for the demise of the Republic. We know your game well."

Very Disturbing Allegations Surface Over Warnock and a Church Camp

Todd Starnes

"Sen. Kelly Loeffler seized on an explosive story Monday that included an interview with a man who said he was 12 years old when he was abused at a church camp that was overseen by Rev. Raphael Warnock, who she is facing in a runoff election that will determine what party controls the Senate.

. . .

"The Washington Free Beacon interviewed Anthony Washington, now 30, who said that in 2002, counselors at Camp Farthest Out would toss urine on him and lock him outside his cabin during entire nights.  He told the paper that he sued and settled with the camp a few years later.  The paper said Washington seemed surprised that Warnock was a viable candidate for the U.S. Senate and said, “I don’t think nobody like [Warnock] should be running for damn Senate nowhere, running a camp like that. He should not be running for government.' ” . . .

Portland Mayor condemns “antifa anarchists” says “my good faith efforts at de-escalation have been met with ongoing violence”

 News Thud

Good grief! What did it finally take?

. . . "Laying out the “who, what, when, where and why” Wheeler said “The who: violent antifa and anarchists.”

“Why? This is the hardest question of all to answer,” he continued “Why would a group of largely white, young and some middle age men destroy the livelihood of others who are struggling to get by?”

“My good faith efforts at de-escalation have been met with ongoing violence and even scorn from radical antifa and anarchists,” Wheeler added “In response it will be necessary to use additional tools and to push the limits of the tools we already have to bring the criminal destruction and violence to an end.” . . .

What Can Be Done About Soros-Funded Prosecutors?

Bookworm Room

Conservatives need to embrace lawfare and bring suit against radical prosecutors, most of whom are funded by George Soros and are de facto rewriting the laws of their state.

. . . "While the Devil’s Advocate is fiction, we are seeing a very real variant on this strategy being carried out by the megalomaniac, George Soros. In 31 of our major state and city governments, from New York state and New York City to San Francisco and Los Angeles among others, Soros has funded the election of prosecutors who are imbued with race-centric social justice ethos and who are intent on altering society by imposing their toxic ideology.

"Every one of these Soros funded prosecutors is refusing, based on “racial justice,” to enforce laws passed by the legislatures in their states. Take, for instance, the recently elected District Attorney for Los Angeles California, George Gascon. Soros and a few other wealthy progressives, most of whom “lived far outside the county,” donated millions to Gascon, giving him twice the campaign funds of his rival. After winning the election in November, Gascon, in his first days in office, virtually did away with cash bail and sentencing enhancements, then nullified California’s “quality of life” laws as applied in Los Angles. This from RedState: . . ."

Naming George Soros gets shut down, denial, awkward dead air and internal communications – forbidden on (((FOX)))  Democrat Marie Harf helped shut down talk of Soros

. . . "A common, though not universal, feature of prominent left-wing district attorneys is the backing of political organizations funded by left-wing billionaire George Soros. The New York Times has credited Soros with pioneering the “push to overhaul prosecutors’ offices” across the country." . . .

"A common, though not universal, feature of prominent left-wing district attorneys is the backing of political organizations funded by left-wing billionaire George Soros. The New York Times has credited Soros with pioneering the “push to overhaul prosecutors’ offices” across the country." . . .

Many more people should be made aware of it and be talking about it. We should not be allowing the left to dictate and shut down the truth because they don’t like it being heard. And if that’s why Fox balked because of folks like Marie Harf and what the left might think, they better reevaluate quickly. Because if they want to go from “winning” as Faulkner said to losing, that’s the quickest way.

‘We Will Not Prosecute’: Left-Wing Prosecutors, Many Backed By Soros Cash, Implement Soft-On-Crime Policies Across America

REMINDER: Democrats Have Objected To Electoral Certification The Last Three Times A Republican Won

Gateway Pundit  "Democrats are absolutely freaking out about the fact that some Republicans are planning to object to the certification of Joe Biden by the Electoral College.

"Not only did they spend the last four years freaking out about Trump, they have objected to the certification the last three times a Republican won the presidency.

"This is what they do but when Republicans do it, they act like it’s a threat to democracy.

"PJ Media reports:

Democrats Have Objected to Electoral Vote Certification For the Last 3 GOP Presidents

Democrats are outraged that Republicans are planning on objecting to the certification of electoral votes. It’s “conspiracy and fantasy,” says Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

“The effort by the sitting President of the United States to overturn the results is patently undemocratic,” the New York Democrat said. “The effort by others to amplify and burnish his ludicrous claims of fraud is equally revolting.”

“This is America. We have elections. We have results. We make arguments based on the fact and reason—not conspiracy and fantasy,” he added.

There’s only one problem with Chucky’s “argument based on fact and reason.” Democrats have been challenging the electoral vote certification for 2 decades.

The last three times a Republican has been elected president — Trump in 2016 and George W. Bush in both 2000 and 2004 — Democrats in the House have brought objections to the electoral votes in states the GOP nominee won. In early 2005 specifically, Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., along with Rep. Stephanie Tubbs, D-Ohio, objected to Bush’s 2004 electoral votes in Ohio.

Pro-Sports Suffered Ratings Disaster In 2020 Following Embrace Of Left Wing Politics

American Lookout

2020 was a year of transformation, in many ways, even in the world of sports.

"Rather than rejecting the left wing radicalism of kneeling during the national anthem, pro-sports embraced the whole thing.

"It had a disastrous effect on ratings as millions of Americans simply turned off the TV or changed the channel.

"The year of the coronavirus was a major disaster for professional sports as every league suffered ratings declines, and lost billions in revenue in 2020.

"TV viewership was not off by just a little, either. It was off an average of 50 percent over last year’s numbers. Even though many Americans were stuck at home as their jobs and cities shut down, TV viewership for sports still cratered.

"According to Front Office Sports, one of golf’s big games, the U.S. Open, lost 56 percent of its viewers over 2019. Basketball suffered greatly, as well. The NBA finals were down 49 percent over last year. Tennis’ Open also cratered, losing 45 percent over 2019’s games. But the worst of all was Hockey’s Stanley Cup. The NHL’s big game lost a whopping sixty percent over the 2019 championship series.

"Thus far the NFL is also cratering, being down at least seven percent over last year. It has been so consistently bad this year that advertisers are starting to rise up to demand concessions for their high advertising spending since viewership has been falling each week." . . .

'The US isn't an option anymore': why California's immigrants are heading back to Mexico

 UK Guardian

Years of anti-immigrant policies from the Trump administration have been magnified by insecurities resulting from the pandemic

"California’s most vulnerable immigrants have faced unprecedented challenges this year, with some weighing whether it’s worth staying in the United States altogether.

"Ten months of a pandemic that has disproportionately sickened immigrants and devastated some of the industries that rely on immigrant labor, combined with years of anti-immigrant policies by the Trump administration have exacerbated insecurities for undocumented people and immigrants working low-wage jobs across California.

"For immigrants at the bottom of the economic ladder, it’s never been easy in the US, said Luz Gallegos, the executive director of the immigrant advocacy group Training Occupational Development Educating Communities Legal Center (Todec).

“ 'But California was also always a place where my family – my parents and grandparents – believed they could build a better life,” said Gallegos who was born into a family of immigrant activists and organizers. “It was always a place with potential.”

"Until this year.

“ 'There’s been so much fear and trauma – just layers of trauma,” she said." . . . More...
