Republicans slam President Biden for failing Gold Star families who shared 'heartbreaking' testimony after losing loved ones during the botched Afghanistan withdrawal: 'Blood is on his hands'

Cheryl Rex, mother of Lance Cpl. Dylan Merola said during her testimony: 'When [Biden] approached me, his words to me were, 'My wife, Jill and I, know how you feel. We lost our son as well and brought him home in a flag draped coffin.''

Daily Mail Online   "Top Republican lawmakers are slamming the Biden administration for failing to provide closure for the Gold Star family members of the U.S. troops killed during the botched Afghanistan withdrawal - who are still seeking accountability nearly two years later.

"The families of the 13 U.S. service members killed in Kabul, Afghanistan, shared their heartbreaking stories during a public forum in Escondido, California, organized by Rep. Darrell Issa. They said they have been lied to by the Biden administration, which has not taken accountability for the deaths of their children.

" 'We can never get these men and women back, and that blood is on President Biden's hands,' Sen. Joni Ernst told DailyMail.com.

" 'These Gold Star families' voices will continue to be heard as we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice and demand accountability for their deaths,' continued Ernst, R-Iowa, the first female combat veteran elected to the Senate.

" 'I've met with some of these families and heard their stories. The heartbreak and anger over the lack of answers from the Biden Administration is palpable,' Rep. Mike Waltz, R-Fla., told DailyMail.com Tuesday.

"Waltz is a former Green Beret who served in Afghanistan during multiple combat tours.

"A suicide bomber detonated his deadly payload outside of the Abbey Gate at Kabul's international airport on August 26, 2021, killing 13 American service members and at least 170 Afghans amid the chaos of the exit. . . ."

The Americans killed in the blast were: (left to right, starting with top row) Cpl. Daegan W. Page - Sgt. Johanny Rosario Pichardo - Staff Sgt. Darin T. Hoover - Lance Cpl. David L. Espinoza - Lance Cpl. Rylee J. McCollum - Lance Cpl. Kareem M. Nikoui - Cpl. Hunter Lopez - Lance Cpl. Jared M. Schmitz - Staff Sgt. Ryan C. Knauss - Cpl. Humberto A. Go On, Gavin, Don’t Be Afraid — Debate DeSantis

"How does he explain that people are fleeing from California and to Florida without losing his cool?"

Issues & Insights "Some months ago, California Gov. Gavin Newsom said he would be “all in” on a debate with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. DeSantis later accepted. Now some are wondering if Newsom’s offer was sincere because it looks as if he wants to avoid the verbal sparring. Which makes sense: Newsom probably knows he can’t take the heat.

"Newsom was fast-tracked for political stardom through his connections to San Francisco wealth and power. He was groomed and polished by the Gettys, the Pritzkers and the Fishers, not only in politics but in business, where he was set up not to fail.

"But on his way to the governor’s mansion in Sacramento, which took him through the San Francisco mayor’s and the lieutenant governor’s offices, he never faced a capable political opponent in an election or debate. His path to the next political office was always clear of anything that might slow him or cause him even the slightest adversity. It has always been Blue sailing for him in California.

"When Newsom did run into a minor storm, he crumbled. In what’s been called his “damn” interview in August 2021 with editorial and opinion writers from McClatchy’s California newspapers, the governor, about a month before he survived a failed recall, reacted to not-at-all-hostile questions by uttering “damn” nine times, and slamming “his desk with his hand and fist 59 times,” the California Globe Reported.

"A YouTuber who posted the video online called Newsom’s reactions “a whiny self-pitying recall rage rant.” Larry Elder, who ran for governor in the recall election, tweeted that Newsom had morphed “into Captain Queeg.”

When DeSantis confronts Newsom with hard questions, and indisputable facts, how is he going to hold it together? How does he explain that people are fleeing from California and to Florida without losing his cool?

Blinken Roasted Over Statement Condemning Russia Convicting Opposition Leader Navalny on “Politically Motivated Charges” While Biden Admin Persecutes Trump

 Tom Fitton

Agreed and I also strongly condemn the Biden administration's arrests and prosecution of leading opposition candidate on politically motivated charges. The Biden White House cannot silence the truth. The politically motivated charges against should be dropped immediately.

You interfered with the 2020 US election by pushing a fake story that Hunter Biden’s laptop was “Russian disinformation” - it wasn’t. But you pushed the Chinese government’s preferred talking point. You’ve lost any credibility and moral authority to lecture others.

Cargo Ship Transporting Nearly 500 EVs Burns for a Week before Being Towed into Port

 Legal Insurrection

"Tugboats finally towed a cargo ship that burned for a week on the North Sea while carrying thousands of cars, nearly 500 of which were reported to be electric vehicles (EVs), into a Dutch port for salvaging, allaying fears that it could sink and impact shipping lanes.

The Fremantle Highway was taken to the northern port of Eemshaven, the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management said. A boat that has special booms to clean up oil spills accompanied the nearly 200-meter-long (around 650-foot-long) vessel as a precaution.

The ship with 3,784 new vehicles, including 498 electric ones, on board caught fire on July 25 while traveling from the German port city of Bremerhaven to Singapore.

Much of the gray paint on the ship’s sides was gone, apparently scorched off by the heat inside the ship when the fire was raging.

. . ."In some good news from the world of science, researchers have made a discovery that could lead to better lithium-metal batteries, as opposed to lithium-ion batteries, while reducing their risk of explosion.  Their findings suggest that by controlling the shape of the lithium it would be possible to create more explosion-resistant batteries than the lithium-ion batteries like the ones in the above stories." . . .

Jason Aldean is right and here’s why -

Stephanie Lundquist-Arora; American Thinker   "When I was 16 and waiting tables in my small town’s Big Boy, where my mother also worked, a visiting city-dweller, let’s call her “Professor,” treated me like I existed to be part of her small-town experience. Professor was fascinated that I had spent my whole life there and attended a high school that hosted an annual tractor day. She peppered me with questions and was overly enthusiastic, probably for a future cocktail party anecdote, that my weekend plans included a bonfire party in the woods and a swim across a nearby lake. It occurred to me that I was a zoo animal on exhibit in the eyes of this woman when, in a tone that made me wonder if she was going to try to pet me, she said, “Aren’t you just as American as apple pie?!” At her university, I believe that’s called a micro-aggression, but not if it is targeted at rural Americans, apparently.

"People like Professor love the small-town experience because they get to feel superior. Like almost all other aspects of small-town culture, Professor doesn’t understand that residents of rural America generally do not measure their status based on what they do to earn money. Professor does though, and has fewer people to compete with for “best job title” in small towns. She sits at rural cafes and revels in the sanctimonious glory of her educational enlightenment and her kindness to the “little people.”

"I imagine that Professor is sitting at her desk on a university campus at this moment hopping mad about Jason Aldean’s hit song, “Try That in A Small Town.” Professor does not bother understanding small-town culture because, to her, it is not worthy of understanding. More explicitly, who cares about the white, working class? Certainly not Professor, who is also white, but hates to be reminded of that fact. And since she disagrees with values like patriotism, well then, they must be racist, of course." . . .
