Chicago Resident Launches Effort to Recall Mayor Brandon Johnson

 The Political Insider

“There are a lot of people who are just trying to get by,” he said. “Now these migrants are being handed everything but they can’t work right now because they don’t have work permits,” he said

A Chicago resident cites a rampant crime wave and illegal immigration as just a few of his reasons for initiating an effort to recall Mayor Brandon Johnson.

“We have crime throughout all of our neighborhoods, but with armed thugs walking the streets,” Dan Boland, founder of the Recall This Fall initiative, told The Epoch Times. “Yet some of our aldermen are calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, but they’ve never called for a ceasefire in their own ward.”

He pointed to Alderman Bryon Sigcho-Lopez, an ally of Mr. Johnson—one of the six members of the Democratic Socialist Caucus block of the Chicago City Council—who appeared with pro-Palestinian protesters after they had burned an American flag.

These ideological pursuits—which include the recent Chicago City Council’s vote to approve the mayor’s request for $70 million to be doled out for illegal immigration—ignore Chicago residents who have lived in the city their whole lives, he said." . . .

Pallywood: Leading Media Outlets Reportedly Used Staged Photos From Gaza

 Legal Insurrection

"Hamas is deliberately creating a food crisis in areas under its control. “There is some hunger in Gaza, and it exists only in places Hamas is pursuing it, not in other areas,” Professor Eytan Gilboa (Reichman University, Herzliya) told Israeli news agency TPS recently."

"Since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, Gaza-based activists, posing as journalists, have continued to flood international media with fake and staged images. The German newspapers Bild-Zeitung and Süddeutsche Zeitung exposed one such ‘photojournalist,’ whose work has been picked up by leading German and Western news outlets, including The Times magazine and CNN.

"Anas Zayed Fteiha, a freelance “journalist” commissioned by Turkey’s state-run Anadolu news agency, has been spreading ‘Hamas propaganda’ by taking ‘staged’ photographs depicting supposed misery and suffering in Gaza, Germany’s most-read daily Bild-Zeitung reported this week.

"Media outlets across the world have been publishing his staged and orchestrated images, holding them up as proof that people in Gaza are facing a dire humanitarian crisis due to Israel’s military operation to liberate hostages and eliminate Hamas’ terrorist fighting force.

"One such staged photograph by Fteiha landed on the Time magazine’s cover, accompanied by a story titled ‘The Gaza Tragedy.”

"The Bild-Zeitung reported Tuesday:

Emaciated children, desperate mothers, and people with empty bowls begging for food: These photos from Gaza are circulating the world. They emote millions—and influence global politics.

But an investigation by the Süddeutsche Zeitung is now questioning the veracity of these images: Were some of the photos from Gaza intentionally staged – and are part of a propaganda strategy by Hamas terrorists?

The hunger is (almost always) real – but the pictures are not. A photograph circulated widely in recent [days] showed desperate people on a truck in front of a food distribution center. Opposite them: photographer Anas Zayed Fteiha, a freelance “journalist” commissoned by the Turkish news agency Anadolu. (…)

His photos—published by [German magazine] Stern and The New York MagazineCNN and the BBC, [Germany’s state-run broadcaster] Deutschlandfunk, [German daily] Junge Welt, and even the Bild Zeitung—prefer to depict chaos and destruction. And above all, children, mothers, and suffering in close-ups, and with perfect lighting.

Indeed, the suffering of civilians in Gaza is great. Many have been killed in Hamas’s war against Israel, and many are starving. However, the staging of this misery often benefits Hamas and its propaganda.

(…) “journalist” Fteiha seems to have a mission: “Free Palestine.” This is what it says on a grotesque painting [self-portrait] he posted on his Instagram account—in combat gear with the proud inscription “Press.” The “artist” who created the image for Fteiha is an avowed Jew-hater.  More...

Newsom’s War on Masculinity Comes Full Circle

The American Spectator | USA News and Politics

. . . "His sudden compassion expires the moment it conflicts with progressive orthodoxy. California’s young men deserve someone who understands that masculinity isn’t a stain to be removed but a force requiring proper direction. Gavin Newsom is not that man."

"Gavin Newsom just discovered men exist. After years of treating masculinity like a social disease requiring immediate quarantine, California’s slick-haired governor suddenly wants to help the boys he’s spent his career neutering. His recent executive order targeting male suicide and isolation would be touching if it weren’t so laughably transparent.
"The conversion happened fast. One day, Newsom’s celebrating biological males shattering girls’ records on high school tracks. The next, he’s wringing his manicured hands over young men “suffering in silence.” (RELATED: Newsom Can’t Memory-Hole What He Did to California)
"What changed? Trump did. He peeled off their voters. Droves of young men — especially working-class and minority — have abandoned the Democrats, choosing a brash, unapologetic figure over a party that spent years branding their masculinity toxic, their drive dangerous, and their presence in classrooms, boardrooms, and relationships a threat to be managed. (RELATED: Gavin Newsom Wants To Be Donald Trump So Badly)
"Newsom’s timing deserves applause for its shamelessness. With 2028 presidential ambitions burning hotter than California wildfires, he needs those male votes back. Enter the executive order, a masterpiece of political theater designed to con the disengaged while ticking every focus group box.The statistics behind his sudden concern are genuinely horrifying. Men commit suicide at four times the rate of women. They’re drowning in depression, addiction, and purposelessness. College campuses look like dating apps — 60 percent female, 40 percent male, and dropping. Young men live in their parents’ basements, lost in video games and pornography, while their female peers launch careers and buy houses. (RELATED: This Man Is Not the Answer to the Masculinity Crisis)"
"This crisis didn’t emerge from nowhere. It’s the predictable result of decades of systematic masculine destruction — cultural, educational, political. And California has been leading the charge. Newsom’s state banned fatherhood from ads, stripped shop classes from schools, flooded classrooms with gender confusion, and pushed boys to apologize for being boys. California perfected the art of emasculation, then acts shocked when men collapse under the weight of their own engineered irrelevance." . . .  More...

Governing America; the left and violence

Violence Against Political Opponents Is Becoming Mainstream on the Left. Here’s (More) Proof. Robert Spencer

"Leftists outside of politics joined in the fun as well: remember, to take just a few of many available examples, Kathy Griffin holding Trump’s bloody severed head, or Madonna saying she wanted to blow up the White House, or Robert DeNiro bellowing that he wanted to punch Trump in the face."

"The idea of doing violence to one’s political opponents has become mainstream on the left. Don’t believe me? Consider the case of one Iman Abdul, a 27-year-old woman who has worked on the campaigns of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Swizzle Stick) and New York state Sen. Julia Salazar (D-Of Course). Abdul has just been arrested for calling for an attack on a high school because a large number of Jewish students go to it.

"Now, there’s no doubt whatsoever that AOC and Salazar would roundly condemn Abdul’s call. Why, there’s just no question of that at all! And yet Iman Abdul is only the latest of many leftists to call for or justify violence against people they fear and hate. Some of these include the Cultural Revolution’s top leaders in the United States.

“ 'Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption — but I am now,” said far-left Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker back in April. “These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace.” That was after Rep. Kweisi Mfume (D-Victimhood) said in February: “This will be a congressional fight, a constitutional fight, a legal fight, and on days like this a street fight, yes we will stand.” And that was not long after House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-Hey, I’m a Victim Too) said this of the “extreme MAGA Republican agenda”: “We are going to fight it legislatively. We are going to fight it in the courts. We’re going to fight it in the streets.”

"Before them, it was Nancy PelosiMaxine Waters, and Kamala Harris inciting leftist violence. And let’s not forget Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-Grillmaster) saying in 2020, when condemning the pro-life leanings of Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh: “I want to tell you, Gorsuch; I want to tell you, Kavanaugh: You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price.' . . . "She apparently had 25,000 followers on social media, so all it would take is one worthless goober to carry out her command and an entire schoolyard could be loaded with dead bodies. This is Jew-hate at its most evil.

"Yet that's what she wanted, and now it's up to lawmen to find out if she was just a typical leftwing radical with a flaming antisemitism problem, a Muslim convert who got her ideas from prison gangs, a Muslim who grew up with those values from her babyhood, or else under the thumb of global terrorist masters, using her as a pawn.

"Was she part of something larger? Did she get paid? Normal people, even garden-variety Jew-haters, don't post things like that. But she did. Where was she radicalized? What kind of leftwing conferences and maybe mosques did she go to?" . . .

Do people like that even know what a "Nazi" is? Ask them to define Fascism. Below: on the left, Jewish families about to die, just like on Oct 7th. On the right, real Nazis, doing as Hamas and Gaza residents did on that day. TD

Bill Maher: Dems Are at Risk of Total Collapse If They Can't Answer This Question

 Townhall

"Maher also mocked CNN for calling the black New York City shooter “possibly white.”. Why do public speakers have such a fear of displeasing Black people?

"Bill Maher couldn’t care less about what unhinged woke liberals think about him. He’s comfortable where he is politically, he’ll talk to whomever he damn pleases, and he’s not cancelable. He’s an old-school liberal. Sure, plenty of terrible political opinions, but he’s determined to purge his aisle of the illiberal crazies who have turned his party into a laughingstock. Let’s hope he’s not too successful, however.

"Last Friday’s episode did not disappoint, where the comedian poked fun at the Sydney Sweeney ad, which liberals are now saying only got Republicans riled up. That was in the Rolling Stone, a publication sued for peddling a fake gang rape hoax at the University of Virginia, so fake news is their forte. Maher said that the writers of the ad should’ve known some crazy liberal was going to throw a Nazi tantrum. It was a great opening and another sign that normies are winning. When your gripes are a punchline and national fodder for comedians, it means whatever you're protesting is stupid.

"It got serious, though, regarding what Maher thinks is the question liberal Democrats must ask if they want to move forward. They can’t be due to the first wave of woke infection that was intersectionality. Yes, white people in the past did some bad things, but everyone did. That’s the point. Tribal wars in Africa, wholesale slaughter in Asia—the list goes on, but it’s only the white folk who are demonized in what has become a cartoonishly absurd way. Sadly, it’s come to this since it’s a question that no one should have to answer for if they don’t want to be viewed as lunatics, but Democrats, with their adept ways of not wanting to offend people, now must ask if they’re with us or the terrorists. Do they support the values of Western civilization or not? Because right now, they’re just a step away from being full-blown Hamas members; some already are: . . . "

Is Shifty Schiff Finally Getting His Due?

DOJ Taps Attorney To Probe Schiff, James Mortgage Fraud Claims   . . . "Meanwhile, James has faced similar accusations of committing mortgage fraud.

As The Federalist’s Brianna Lyman reported, U.S. Federal Housing Director William J. Pulte sent a criminal referral to the Department of Justice in April alleging James “‘falsified records’ to obtain home loans for a property in Virginia that she claimed in 2023 was her ‘principal residence’ despite serving in New York at the time, according to The [New York] Post.” “The alleged falsification,” Lyman wrote, “occurred weeks before she launched her politically motivated sham trial against the Trump Organization for allegedly inflating the values of its properties.” . . .

Is Shifty Schiff Finally Getting His Due? Behind a paywall.

What Adam Schiff Learned from a Cashier at Target  . . . "Second, given Schiff’s long history of playing fast and loose with the truth, it’s hard to take anything he says at face value. But assuming the story is true, you have to appreciate the irony of a Democrat falling victim to the very policies his party helped create. After all, it’s often only through direct experience that real lessons are learned.

"Additionally, Schiff prefaced his story by telling Maher, “So, we’re going to have to change how we do business in California. We’re going to have to address people’s legitimate concerns about crime.” This raises the question: what steps, if any, has he taken to confront the situation? My guess would be none."

If You're Stuck At a Stoplight, Here's How to Let The Sensor Know

If You're Stuck At a Stoplight, Here's How to Let The Sensor Know

Some traffic lights use infrared sensors or cameras to detect vehicles. Flashing your high beams can help these sensors recognize your presence by detecting the change in light or heat from your vehicle.

Getting stuck at a red light can be frustrating, especially when it feels like the light just isn't changing for you. But before you start honking or thinking the traffic signal is broken, it's important to understand how stoplights work and what you can do to ensure they detect your vehicle. Here's a guide on how to interact with traffic light sensors effectively.

Traffic lights are more sophisticated than they appear. They don't just change colors on a timer; many use sensors to detect vehicles at an intersection. These sensors play a crucial role in managing traffic flow, ensuring that vehicles aren't stuck waiting at a red light longer than necessary. Common types of sensors include induction loops, infrared sensors, and cameras.1

A loop is simply a coil of wire placed underneath the pavement. When a large metal object is positioned over the loop, it affects the loop's magnetic field,” explains the public works department in Neenah, Wisconsin.2

. . . "One of the most important factors in getting the stoplight to recognize your vehicle is proper positioning. When you approach an intersection, make sure to pull up to the designated stop line or, if there isn't one, wait behind the crosswalk. If you're too far back, the sensors might not detect your vehicle, leaving you stuck at the light. For motorcyclists and bicyclists, who often struggle with triggering these sensors, positioning the tires on the tar lines of the induction loop can help. These lines are usually visible on the pavement before the stop line." . . .More

Never forget! Palestinian Terrorists Release Videos of Hostages Being Starved, Tormented, Digging Own Grave

 Legal Insurrection

Hamas supporters seem to have totally dominated the propaganda war on Twitter and college campuses.

. . . "On Thursday, the Iranian-backed Islamic Jihad (PIJ) released a disturbing video of German-Israeli hostage Rom Braslavski, claiming that it was recorded shortly after the terrorist group ‘lost contact’ with his captors in Gaza. The next day, Hamas published an equally depraved video of Israeli hostage Evyatar David. The videos sent out by the terrorist groups show emaciated, frail, and broken men who have endured 665 days of captivity in Gaza.

. . . "Just as in the past, these videos were aimed at tormenting the families of the hostages and manipulating the Israeli public opinion. The Hamas delegation in Qatar walked out of negotiations last week after rejecting a U.S. ceasefire proposal. Hamas, which boastfully recorded and publicized its atrocities on October 7, 2023, has been releasing videos of murderedtortured, and tormented hostages ever since.

Ask yourself why Hamas released the photos of Evyatar David and Rom Braslavski, who are actually starving, right after a big news cycle about food not getting into Gaza. They did it as a show of power, proof that the media, the influencers on the Left, and now many on the Right… pic.twitter.com/nV2VPx7sVm

. . . "Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has been securing the inflow of humanitarian relief to Gaza — often risking the lives of Israeli troops. In May 2024, four IDF soldiers were killed in Hamas rocket fire as they secured Gaza’s main humanitarian aid crossing.

“The U.S.-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) said Wednesday that it has distributed nearly 100 million food rations in the Gaza Strip since it began operations,” the Israeli news website Ynetnews noted. “A senior Israeli security official said that since the start of Operation Gideon’s Chariots on May 19, more than 5,000 aid trucks have entered Gaza. These include over 1.5 million weekly food packages provided by an American company and 3,000 tons of baby formula.”

WASHINGTON POST: "Trump and Epstein had a relationship, but there’s no evidence of Trump wrongdoing"

 Infidel Bloggers

Rest assured — if Trump were prominently mentioned, it would have been leaked by now.

"The Trump White House and Justice Department are under fire for failing to release, as promised, all of the files related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, who pleaded guilty in 2008 to soliciting an underage sex workerIn 2019, after he was charged in federal court with sex trafficking of minors, guards found Epstein dead in his cell at a federal jail in New York. Investigators said he hanged himself. Trump supporters have long suggested the existence of a client list that would implicate powerful people, while also calling into question whether Epstein’s death had been a suicide.

"Trump has tried to damp down speculation, fanned mainly by Democrats, that the withheld files contain evidence of a deep connection between Trump and Epstein. Trump has reacted with outrage and disdain, even at members of his political base who have pressed for the files to be released.

"A year ago, Florida Circuit Judge Luis Delgado unsealed nearly 200 pages of grand jury testimony related to the 2006 Florida case involving Epstein. The documents showed that prosecutors had heard testimony about Epstein assaulting teenage girls before they cut a plea deal with him in 2008 that was kept from victims and provided for lenient work release. “The details in the record will be outrageous to decent people,” Delgado wrote in his order. “The testimony taken by the Grand Jury concerns activity ranging from grossly unacceptable to rape — all of the conduct at issue is sexually deviant, disgusting, and criminal.”

"At the time, we dug deep into the public record and awarded Four Pinocchios to a Democratic lawmaker who suggested Trump’s name was all over the files released by Delgado. Nothing has emerged since then to change our assessment that there is no public evidence of inappropriate behavior by Trump related to Epstein. As a reader service, our findings are presented below.

Pictures of him with Epstein

"Trump has acknowledged that he and Epstein were in the same Palm Beach, Florida, social circle decades ago. But their relations appeared to have ended by the time Epstein’s legal troubles began." . . .

In a 2016 deposition of Giuffre that was released, she was asked about Trump. Giuffre said she had been recruited by Maxwell when she was a 17-year-old spa attendant at Mar-a-Lago.

" 'I don’t think Donald Trump participated in anything,” she said. “That would have to be another assumption. I never saw or witnessed Donald Trump participate in those acts, but was he in the house of Jeffrey Epstein.”

Foreign investor has spent $65M for destroyed Malibu properties

 NY Post

"It's CRIMINAL what the city, county and state make these VICTIMS go through to rebuild their homes.... and are basically forced to sell their homes to investors." JC in HB comment

"In the charred aftermath of Malibu’s January wildfires, one buyer has been moving in silence.

"While much of La Costa Beach remains a barren stretch of sand, a foreign investor has quietly acquired nine oceanfront lots — spending more than $65 million to secure some of the most coveted parcels along the Pacific Coast Highway, according to Realtor.com.

"Working through luxury agents Weston Littlefield and Alex Howe of the Weston James Group, the buyer is targeting properties with at least 40 feet of frontage, betting that once the coastline is rebuilt, demand from wealthy buyers will return in force.

The scale of destruction was severe: The fire razed 720 structures in Malibu, burning miles of beachfront homes to their foundations.

“Malibu was such a charming beach town, and all the homes that were on La Costa Beach had so much character… and for it all to just be gone and wiped out, down to the sand, is heartbreaking,” Littlefield said.

"Rebuilding is a long and costly process. The city estimates permit approvals can take 12 to 24 months, and coastal construction carries steeper requirements than inland projects. " . . .

Foreign investor has spent $65M for destroyed Malibu properties

. . . "For Littlefield, the investment is a calculated bet with a long horizon.

“ 'Once this beach is built back and it’s all brand-new construction, I think it’s going to be a very desirable spot for a lot of wealthy people to try to buy a beach house,” he said."

Victim of Infamous Cincinnati Attack Speaks Out, Counters DEI-Supporting Police Chief's Claims

  RedState

"Frankly, if the police chief is going to opine on this case in such a bombastic way, she should at least have the decency to contact the victims and get their side of the story. Instead, it seems like she prejudged this from the beginning in order to fit the attack into her worldview."

NY Post

"Cincinnati beatdown victim: “We were just leaving, waiting for our Uber — no fights inside, no problems. Outside, we were surrounded. My friends were attacked, one beaten within an inch of their life. I stepped in to help. Then came the racist comments — ‘you white [expletive] words,’ ‘white people shouldn’t be out here,’ ‘you’re gonna go night night.’ Some attackers had rap sheets a mile long. The man who punched me had just gotten out of jail months earlier. They should have never been free to do this.”

"The woman who was brutally beaten in downtown Cincinnati by a mob of men is speaking out for the first time, describing the attack and lambasting the city's leadership for how they've handled the case.

"Holly, who is currently choosing to only go by her first name, showed physical signs of the ordeal while speaking to Fox News' Laura Ingraham, with visible bruises under her eye and on her cheek. She went on to talk about what led up to the assault that left her on her back, bleeding in the street.

"According to Holly, the group of attackers, who were black, hurled racist insults at her and those she was with."  . . .

"After the attack, Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge appeared to take the side of the attackers, claiming that the videos that had gone viral lacked context and were a "distorted" version of the events. She has still not provided any evidence for her claim, and, notably, Theetge is an outspoken proponent of DEI. That provides a window into her views regarding policing and racial politics.

"She also didn't bother to reveal in her press conference that the alleged attackers had previous criminal records, including acts of violence. That would have gone against her implication that this attack was somehow instigated by Holly and was not an indictment of her failed leadership." . . .   Full article...

Muslim Sent Shockwaves Through the Arab World After Going Public With This Video

 Israel Unwired

What about the so-called “Palestinian” people? Well, they are made up. They have no history in the land of Israel. They have no archaeology to prove that what they claim is true. It’s time for the world to listen to the truth. The ignorant people must stop believing everything they hear about “Palestine.”

“You don’t need a group that wraps itself in verses while stabbing your future.” What a line that truly defines the nature of what the Muslim Brotherhood is all about. This eloquent spokesman does not defend the norms of many Islamic countries. He is proud to say that the UAE is the exception to the rule, the country with a bright present and future due to their rejection of the Muslim Brotherhood.
"But it is more than just the UAE (or Bahrain). There are many millions of people in the Middle East who are not interested in a radical Islamic lifestyle. They are not necessarily very Western either. But they do not want to kill or be killed. They do not aspire to turn the world into a world dominated by Islam.
"There are millions of Iranians who are dreaming for the rule of the Ayatollahs to end. There are millions of Saudis and Moroccans who are not interested in conflict with neighboring countries. But they are culturally very much decades behind most of the Western world. But as can be observed in many regions in China, this can be changed more quickly than many would think.
"Donald Trump seems to be hedging much of his hopes for a more peaceful future in the Middle East on encouraging a drive towards prosperity as the leading incentive to curb the radical religious elements from dominaing their cultures. Historically, this has not fared very well. But, there are not that many instances over the last few decades of understanding the power of smartphones and other AI-filled gadgets on changing cultural norms. The new world is uniques in this regard. Voices like this brave Arab’s voice ought to be magnified, and then the UAE will not be the exception, but the leader of a growing trend." . . .
