"Any efforts to eliminate daylight saving time in Washington, D.C., will likely have backing from President Donald Trump, who previously suggested he’d support it, saying it was inconvenient and costly."
"It’s almost time!
Daylight saving time will begin on Sunday, causing clocks to skip forward an hour at 2:00 a.m. for most people living in the United States.
The majority of Americans who are expected to lose an hour of sleep on March 8 don’t support the current daylight saving system.
An AP-NORC poll from 2025 showed that just over 10 percent of Americans supported the current system, while nearly half of the others polled opposed it. The rest of the survey-takers remained neutral about the topic.
But there are efforts to lock the clock so Americans can press snooze (for good) on the ongoing “spring forward” and “fall back” rules, which disrupt sleep schedules from coast to coast twice a year.
Daylight saving has been a controversial topic for over a decade in the United States.
In the late 1800s, railroads used different time zones. Then, in the 1940s, President Franklin D. Roosevelt turned the entire nation’s clocks an hour ahead to save energy for World War II, and after that, in the 1960s, the Uniform Time Act of 1966 established a uniform Daylight Saving Time across most of America.
Every year, daylight saving time starts on the second Sunday in March for “spring forward” and ends on the first Sunday in November for “fall back.”
"New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is facing renewed scrutiny after a report claimed his wife, Rama Duwaji, liked several social media posts appearing to celebrate Hamas’s October 7, 2023, terrorist attack against Israel.
"The report, published by Jewish Insider, says the activity occurred shortly after the assault that killed nearly 1,200 Israelis and foreign workers, wounded thousands, and saw 251 civilians and military personnel kidnapped, along with reports of widespread rape.
"Posts Allegedly Celebrated the Attack."
“New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani spent the mayoral campaign distancing himself from the most radical anti-Israel elements of his leftist movement, but an examination of his wife’s social media activity reveals she liked multiple Instagram posts cheering on Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, assault,” Jewish Insider reported.
“The posts liked by Rama Duwaji, a Syrian-American artist, unambiguously celebrated the terrorist attack, which saw nearly 1,200 Israelis and foreign workers killed, thousands wounded, 251 civilians and military personnel kidnapped, and numerous episodes of sexual assault.”

"God help us when this magnificent state, God’s gift to mankind, has become a bastion of hate."
"Your humble servant, Ben Stein, has been a citizen of the Golden State since 1972. It was then that I moved to Santa Cruz and taught for a brief while at the spectacular campus of UC, Santa Cruz. There are not enough words to say how magnificent that campus was in those days. I was introduced to it by my dear friend from Yale Law School, Chris Wilson.
"He and his wife and my wife and I drove to an overlook at Cowell College and stared at the Bay of Monterey. I swore I would return. Sure enough, thanks to my film school professor, Stanley Kauffmann, I got a job teaching about the political and economic content of entertainment movies at College V just months later. The scenery was so perfect that my heart stopped the first hundred times I walked across the foot bridges going across the campus.
"Sadly, I left the College V world after a student put up a huge Nazi swastika made of tables and chairs in the college dining hall. I complained about it to the College V top dog, James B. Hall. He responded with a nasty, antisemitic letter to the student in question. I asked him to apologize to me and to the students of College V, many of whom were Jewish. He doubled down with an even more bitterly antisemitic letter about me.
"I left and went back to my native Washington, D.C. There, I soon went to work for Mr. Nixon as a speechwriter. That’s another story.
"Anyway, I have now lived and worked in sunny Cal since June 30, 1976, as a script writer, novelist, economist, lawyer, law teacher, and expert witness. I love California. I love the weather and the climate and pretty much everything else.
"But I do not like at all the exploding antisemitism in the air. It has been here for a LONG time. But now, with Israel and the USA trying to stop the Iranian hate/murder regime, and the antisemites all over the left side of the state, I am moved to anger and fear.
"The most awful part of it is Gavin Newsom, our governor. He is now speaking out in hate phrases against Israel. Israel is the most urgent, most powerful enemy that the Islamic genocide architects face. Mr. Newsom is urging Americans to stop Israel from defending itself. He calls Israel hate names and phrases and urges Americans not to allow Israel the weapons it needs to defend itself. This is done to help Newsom get to the top of the heap of the Democrat party, which has become ever more racist day by day." . . .

Apparently good looks can take you a long way with liberal press.
On the other hand, Jackson’s memorial was the perfect send-off for a man who hitched his wagon to Martin Luther King’s star—a star that won the nation’s soul by pointing to America’s future as a colorblind meritocracy—and then spent decades reducing that message to a Democrat party platform of race-hustling redistribution.
"That was then. Now, of course, it’s de rigueur to turn memorials for well-known Democrats into political rallies, so Jesse Jackson’s memorial was no exception.
"Barack Obama, the man who ran in 2008 on uniting America, used the opportunity to launch a brutal attack on MAGA. Always trailing in someone else’s shadow, Kamala Harris did the same. Joe Biden, meanwhile, used the opportunity to tell everyone in attendance that they were stupid. For once in his life, Biden may have been right, although he abandoned his “smart” credentials when he forgot about Clarence Thomas.
"Looking at Jesse Jackson’s career, despite his allegedly telling his family that he wanted a non-political funeral, the memorial was a fitting capstone to a man who traded in racial ugliness for decades. Jackson was also a forerunner of today’s overt antisemitism on the left.
"Barack Obama (who arrived without Michelle, who couldn’t be bothered to honor a party icon) couldn’t say enough about how wonderful Jackson...er, scratch that. Couldn’t say enough about how vile MAGA is—and please note how the Hawaii-born Obama, who went from one high-end white school to another, intermittently mimics the cadence of a black Alabama preacher. These people are so fake." . . .
Joe Biden openly lies and says he appointed the first black Supreme Court justice at Jesse Jackson's funeral.
Fact check: The first black Supreme Court justice was Thurgood Marshall in 1967.

The missiles still exist in tunnels and caches across Iran. They are increasingly becoming missiles with nowhere to go.
"Everyone is counting Iran’s missiles. They are counting the wrong thing. "The number that determines the outcome of this war is not 2,000 or 2,500 or 3,000. Those are pre-war missile inventory estimates and they are now largely irrelevant. The number that determines the outcome is the one that moved from 504 to 29 in five days. "On Day 1 of Operation Epic Fury, Iran fired 504 ballistic missiles and drones across the Gulf theater. On Day 5, the number was 29. That is a 94 percent collapse in daily launch volume in less than a week. Not because Iran ran out of missiles. Because Iran ran out of the thing that launches them. "Launchers." . . .
. . . "Iran’s missile doctrine was built on volume and simultaneity. The mass salvo, hundreds of missiles launched in coordinated waves from dispersed platforms designed to overwhelm Iron Dome and US Patriot batteries by saturating their intercept capacity, is the only mechanism by which Iran’s missile force constitutes a genuine strategic threat to Israel. A degraded launcher pool that can produce 29 fires per day is not a mass salvo capability. It is a harassment capability. The two are not the same threat in any meaningful military sense." . . .
"Savannah, who became a co-anchor of the Today show in 2012, stepped away from the broadcast shortly after her mother’s disappearance. Her last appearance on the show was on January 30."
"Savannah Guthrie, who stepped away from the Today show recently, made an emotional return to the studio. This marks her first visit to the sets of the show after the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, more than a month ago.
According to the Irish Star, the 54-year-old television journalist was seen meeting colleagues at Studio 1A inside Rockefeller Center in New York City on Thursday, March 5. Visuals showed that Savannah appeared emotional during the visit, sharing hugs and quiet conversations with staff members who have continued hosting the popular morning show in her absence.
The return of the TV presenter was confirmed by NBC on the program’s official Instagram page. The caption read, “Savannah Guthrie stopped by the studio the morning of March 5 to be with and thank her TODAY colleagues. While she plans to return to the show on air, she remains focused right now supporting her family and working to help bring Nancy Guthrie home.” . . More...
A spokesperson said she thanked colleagues during the visit but remains focused on supporting her family and efforts to bring her mother home.
However, Talarico apparently thinks that the federal government has jurisdiction to abort babies, along with the executive authority to just make abortion providers into federal employees to protect them from state enforcement of abortion restrictions.
Is James Talarico’s Texas win a sign of a rising religious left? |
"Last September, the progressive Texas Tribune gleefully wondered whether James Talarico's leftist take on Christianity would translate from "online sensation" to a Senate campaign. Be careful what you wish for. Now that Talarico has beaten Jasmine Crockett for the Democrat nomination in Texas, the erstwhile seminarian's "progressive take on Christianity" has already become a big part of the Senate campaign.
"As the Tribune noted in last year's sunny profile, Talarico took a particular interest into recasting Christianity around the progressive's one and only sacrament:
In the Book of Luke, the Austin Democrat noted, Mary has a vision from God that she’s going to give birth to a baby who will bring down the powerful from their thrones. But, critically, before she becomes pregnant, Talarico said, an angel “asks Mary if this is something she wants to do, and she says, ‘if it is God’s will, let it be done.’”
“To me, that is an affirmation in one of our most central stories that creation has to be done with consent. You cannot force someone to create,” Talarico, an aspiring Presbyterian minister and U.S. senator, told Rogan, arguing “the idea that there is a set Christian orthodoxy on the issue of abortion is just not rooted in Scripture.”
He went on to accuse the religious right of prioritizing abortion bans and “control” of pregnant mothers, rather than reducing miscarriages and protecting children through expanded health care access.
“I think that’s what we see across this Christian nationalist movement,” Talarico said. “This is religion at its worst: trying to control people and what they do.”
"Ahem. I've covered this before, but once again, Talarico is confusing conjugal consent before conception with abortion afterward. There is no biblical support for the idea that Mary's fiat was still conditional afterward." . . .More...

. . . "This was a stinging blow to an Iranian navy that had already been reduced to nothingness by the U.S. air campaign. It was a sign that Iranian ships were not safe even outside the Persian Gulf and Straits of Hormuz. It was a warning that Iranian military assets anywhere in the world were fair game, and the Department of War was not going to play the sad old game we've practiced since the Korean War of granting our enemies sanctuaries where we refuse to attack them.
"But, as predictable as night following day, was the left claiming the attack was a "war crime." Since Trump came into office, every military action has been declared a "war crime." Operation Midnight Hammer was a war crime. Snatching Maduro was a war crime. Chastising Iran was a war crime. And so, of course, sinking an enemy warship also had to be a war crime.
"This tweet on X by the Soros-sponsored "DropSiteNews" is probably the most succinct roundup of all the allegations. " . . . (TD regrets the language)
"Let's take this item by item as though we were not dealing with a lunatic.
1. There is no evidence that the ship was unarmed, and a lot of evidence that it was. This image of Dena during Milan 2026 shows its SAM launchers loaded.
"This promotional site for Milan 2026 also shows Dena with loaded SAM tubes. Plus, it says, "During the sea phase, exercises such as aircraft carrier operations, anti-submarine warfare, air defense, naval gunnery, search and rescue operations, and multinational tactical maneuvers will be conducted." This implies shooting at stuff.
"None of that matters because being out of ammo doesn't get you a "get-out-of-jail-free" card, and any country stupid enough to send a warship to sea without ammo deserves whatever befalls it." . . . Full article with links here.

The Trump administration is exposing Barack Obama and his administration's Russian Collusion Hoax, along with the Democrats like Adam Schiff who helped push the lie."Back when Adam Schiff was in the House of Representatives it was already abundantly clear that he was a shameless serial liar, and unfortunately enough voters in California deemed that worthy of a promotion to the U.S. Senate, where he continues to shovel BS on a daily basis.
"One of Schiff's biggest whoppers was about Trump and "Russia collusion," and Barack Obama was one of the Democrats behind of all that:

"DeMaio vows that the grassroots effort will bring this energy to races in the fall: ‘This is what Democracy looks like’ '
"In a significant push for election integrity, Reform California Chairman and State Assemblyman Carl DeMaio (R-San Diego) announced on Tuesday that his organization has collected and is submitting over 1.0 million signatures to qualify a Voter ID initiative for the November 2026 ballot. The initiative, which aims to require photo identification for in-person voting, citizenship verification for voter registration, and enhanced safeguards against non-citizen voting, represents a major grassroots effort to address long-standing concerns about California’s election processes.
"DeMaio shared the milestone via a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “1.0M Signatures! Yesterday and today in each of the 58 counties in California, we are turning in signatures to force a vote on the CA Voter ID Initiative! We got it on the ballot, but now we need to PASS IT!” He urged supporters to join the campaign through Reform California’s website. The announcement was accompanied by photos of petition boxes and supporters at various county registrar offices, underscoring the statewide scope of the signature drive.
"In a conversation with the California Globe, DeMaio highlighted that the over 18,000 grassroots volunteers are “going to stay the course” to “bring change and reform in California to the ballot box.”
“ 'Voter ID is a bipartisan issue and common sense. The only people who don’t want it is politicians. The fewer voters that show up in an election, the less expensive their campaigns are. They want to use every opportunity to divide us by partisan lines. But the majority of voters want Voter ID. The politicians never give us what we want–they are not acting on 70 percent of what voters want,” DeMaio charged." . . .More...
