What the House Subpoenas of Rice, Brennan, and Power in the ‘Unmasking’ Probe Mean

"It’s not all about Russia."

Andrew C. McCarthy  "The House Intelligence Committee has reportedly issued seven subpoenas in connection with its investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election and of the Obama administration’s potentially illegal use of the government’s foreign-intelligence-collection power for the purpose of monitoring Americans — in particular, Americans connected to the Trump campaign and transition.

"The news was broken Wednesday afternoon by the Wall Street Journal.

" The most intriguing detail of the subpoenas is the demand for any information related to requests for unmasking by Samantha Power, President Obama’s ambassador to the United Nations. “Unmasking” is the revealing in intelligence reports of the identities of Americans whose communications (or information about whom) have been “incidentally” intercepted during foreign-intelligence-collection operations." . . .  Read More

Press Barking (Mad) Up the Wrong Tree

comicallyincorrect.com  "Hillary Blames Everyone and everything
but herself for the loss to Donald Trump, a grand Conspiracy."

Ann Coulter  "The American media are so obsessed with their own Russian collusion story that they can't see the possibility of actual corruption right in front of their noses. It's gotten to the point that Trump could start shooting reporters on the White House lawn and The New York Times' headline would be: In Trump's New Tack, Echoes of Russia.

"In fairness to the media, this is all part of the liberal proclivity to embrace any conspiracy theory under the right conditions. There are random conservatives who might believe nutty things from time to time, but conspiracy-mongering is a plant that doesn't fully bloom except in the soil of liberalism.

"The psychoanalyst Erich Fromm argued that because freedom is terrifying, one way to escape the anxiety is to have a strong belief system, providing a central magnet for all the metal filings to coalesce around.

"Liberals have no strong belief systems, only base impulses. This is why their passions must be corralled into conspiracy theories, to bring conformity to their lives. They hate Trump, so everything he does must be on orders from Moscow.

"Meanwhile, it is a known fact that the FBI is looking at Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. It is a known fact that the Kushner family has used its connections to President Trump to drum up Chinese investors for the family's real estate portfolio. It is a known fact that Jared is looking for investors in his 666 Fifth Avenue building, which is underwater. It is a known fact that Jared met with the Russian ambassador -- as well as a representative of a state-owned Russian bank -- during the transition. It is a known fact that he neglected to mention those meetings on his security clearance forms.

"All of this is probably perfectly aboveboard. But if you weren't insane, the blindingly obvious question would be: Why did Kushner meet with the head of a state-controlled Russian bank?

"That's not what our media want to know! Reporters see all those facts, put 2 and 2 together and ask: How does this advance the narrative that Russia colluded with the Trump campaign to steal the election from Hillary? " . . .

Nets Tout Hillary’s Excuses for Losing, Conspiracy Theories

Media Research Center   Video.

"After Hillary Clinton used a softball interview during a Silicon Valley tech conference on Wednesday to blame everyone but herself for her failed presidential campaign, Thursday’s network morning shows eagerly promoted her excuses, even pushing unfounded conspiracy theories advanced by the former Democratic nominee.
"On NBC’s Today, co-host Savannah Guthrie announced: “President Trump, James Comey, Russian interference, were all targets of Hillary Clinton in her most outspoken interview yet about the presidential race. She now says she suspects the President’s campaign gave direct guidance to Moscow."
"In the report that followed, Clinton superfan Andrea Mitchell dutifully highlighted all the former Secretary of State’s main talking points. She proclaimed: “As Congress launches its Russia investigation and accelerates it, Hillary Clinton is trying to connect the dots about her unexpected loss. And putting a lot of the blame on fake news circulated by a sophisticated Republican internet operation.' ” . . .

It's official: Hillary lost the election because of misogyny. . .

...we know because she declared it so. TD

Hillary Embraces Conspiracies for Loss, Calls Email Scandal a ‘Nothing Burger’
https://youtu.be/0kfMnOXq-IE

. . . "In her expanded remarks which you can see below, she implies media bias from the New York Times, blames fake news and repeatedly invokes interference by Russia.

"Tucker Carlson did a great job last night unpacking all the conspiracies embraced by Hillary. From the FOX News Insider:
Carlson: Clinton Donned the ‘Trendy Tin Foil’ Hat Popularized by Democrats . . .

NRO: Has-Been Hillary  . . . "She lost two exceedingly winnable presidential campaigns in Hindenburgian fashion. There is no demand for her to run again and there is nothing left for her except to receive whatever ceremonial honors and sinecures may come her way. She has been handed her political retirement papers by the American people. She’s done." . . .

Hillary meets Einstein's definition of insanity
Less costly to your will to live would be this minute-and-a-half excerpt, in which Hillary "takes responsibility" for "every decision" she has made but then denies that she is responsible for the result – "they're not why I lost.

Hillary Clinton's spiraling rage gets Shakespearean  . . . "Hillary Clinton herself has become the perfect definition of delusional.  She continues to embarrass herself, almost on a daily basis, by blaming everyone and everything but herself for her defeat.  Each time she speaks, she descends deeper into fantasy as to why she lost.  First it was the Russians, an excuse fabricated within a day of her defeat.  The Russians had "hacked" Podesta's email account; turned them over to WikiLeaks; and, even though, as she said at Recode's Code Conference in California, there was nothing interesting in them, the leaks hurt her.  There was in fact a great deal of interesting information in those emails, and much of it should have led to arrests and indictments of persons at the DNC.  Then it was former FBI director James Comey.  Now she blames "1,000 Russian agents" working with the Trump campaign to distort her content!  What content?  Her campaign was based entirely on anti-Trump rhetoric.  She blames "weaponized information" when it was her campaign that invented fake news.  Her delusions are becoming more and more bizarre." . . .

Hillary looks back in anger  . . . "That’s not the way she sees it. “I take responsibility for every decision I make — but that’s not why I lost,” Clinton averred.
"It was the fault of the Democratic National Committee. “I’m now the nominee of the Democratic Party. I inherit nothing from the Democratic Party,” Clinton said. “It was bankrupt, it was on the verge of insolvency, its data was mediocre to poor, nonexistent, wrong. I had to inject money into it — the DNC — to keep it going.”
"It was the fault of James Comey. “I can’t look inside the guy’s mind. He dumped that on me on October 28, and I immediately start falling,” she said.
"It was the fault of the New York Times. It blew concerns about her private email setup for her official business as Secretary of State out of proportion. “I’m just using everything that anybody else said about it besides me to basically say: This was the biggest nothingburger — ever.” According to Clinton, the Times covered the story “like it was Pearl Harbor.”
"It was the VRCW 2.0, as James Antle puts it. “Like, oh, you know, there she goes, vast right-wing conspiracy, now it’s a vast Russian conspiracy,” she said. “Well, it turned out we were right, and we saw evidence of it.”
"It was the fault of Russia…working with…”I’m leaning Trump.”
"And that’s not all! “[A]t some point it sort of bleeds into misogyny.' ” . . .

HILARIOUS: What Kathy Griffin REALLY Did With Her Trump Stunt

The Federalist Papers  Robert Gehl reports that self-described “comic” Kathy Griffin has been fired by CNN.
Griffin came under fire for posing for a gruesome photo showing her holding the severed head of President Donald Trump.
It enraged the public, none other than Trump himself; terrified his son and even infuriated the Satanists. The Secret Service also decided to may Ms. Griffin a visit.
At first, CNN reacted by calling the photo “disgusting and offensive,” saying they were “evaluating our New Year’s Eve coverage.”
But only after the global firestorm did CNN announce they were completely cutting ties with Griffin, namely her appearance on their New Year’s Eve program.

Forget Russian Collusion. We Are Russia.

Roger L. Simon  "What's a citizen to do when he or she no longer trusts the intelligence agencies of his or her country?
"That's the terrifying situation evolving from the leaks and counter-leaks surrounding the various investigations grouped under the rubric "Russia" -- though it appears to have less and less to do with Russia and more and more to do with us. We are Russia.
"Rowan Scarborough reported in the Washington Times Monday:
What caused the Barack Obama administration to begin investigating the Donald Trump campaign last summer has come into clearer focus following a string of congressional hearings on Russian interference in the presidential election.
It was then-CIA director John O. Brennan, a close confidant of Mr. Obama’s, who provided the information — what he termed the “basis” — for the FBI to start the counterintelligence investigation last summer. Mr. Brennan served on the former president’s 2008 presidential campaign and in his White House.
Mr. Brennan told the House Intelligence Committee on May 23 that the intelligence community was picking up tidbits on Trump associates making contacts with Russians. Mr. Brennan did not name either the Russians or the Trump people. He indicated he did not know what was said.

Kathy Griffin should ask for royalties every time her picture shows up at anti-Trump rallies

She may apologize, but her picture with the Trump head cannot be unseen.

Kathy Griffin apologies for a joke that didn’t work
Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrumpKathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself. My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!
. . . "There is always the possibility that she will become some sort of martyr and hero to the most deranged among the TDS Cult. Maybe a one woman show off-Broadway?

"But for the rest of the nation, the sane seventy percent, Griffin has created an image that can’t be unseen, and that will serve as an icon of Trump Derangement Syndrome, visually embracing the methods of the Taliban, specifically calling to mind the video decapitation of Daniel Pearl. That sort of image operates on different parts of the brain than words.
"While she failed to be funny, Kathy Griffin still managed to create an immortal image, generating a meme – that on a fantasy level (for now) Trump haters in some ways resemble Islamists in their affinity for violence -- that will love on, perhaps even becoming the symbol of the extreme Trump hatred of our current era."

Kathy Griffin's bloody head of Trump
"Lefties have engaged in hate-mongering for decades, but since the Bush II years, they have made it plain they are not thinking in terms of metaphors but rather of actually killing people they disagree with politically. Conservative writer Kurt Schlichter writes that the Left acts surprised or offended when the Right hates them back. They are intentionally pushing America to civil unrest. It’s entirely their fault."
Mika Censors Kathy Griffin News: “We’re not Talking about It. Too Gross. Not Worth Doing”  "If, say, Greg Gutfield had held up a realistic-looking severed head of the previous president, do you think Morning Joe would have refused to cover the story? But on today’s Morning Joe, when a panelist made reference to “the Kathy Griffin news,” Mika Brzezinski put her foot down:
“ 'We’re not talking about it. I’m sorry, it’s too gross. It’s just not worth doing.” . . .
Bloody awful: Liberals should swiftly condemn Kathy Griffin's disgusting anti-Trump photo shoot  "When Rep. Gabby Giffords was shot by a deranged man in 2011, conversation quickly turned to the blind hostility nurtured by some in talk radio, and specifically to a Sarah Palin-led political action committee graphic in which key congressional districts were in metaphoric crosshairs."

Trump Derangement Syndrome Takes a Grisly Turn  "We all know this, but it needs to be said. If someone had done anything like this to attack President Obama during the Obama years, the enraged outcries would have reverberated around the world and the swooning media would have pointed to a "climate of hate," indicting everyone on the right for the outrage. Of course, nothing like this ever happened during the Obama years because people on the Right aren't as bat-guano insane as people on the Left.
"Enter alleged "comedienne" Kathy Griffin."

. . . "But it's only the latest of many unhinged celebrity expressions of Trump Derangement Syndrome:
"The man has been in office for less than five months. Give them time -- eventually they'll get around to producing an assassination film like they did for President Bush."

Study finds ABC, CBS, NBC barely cover Venezuela's left-wing catastrophe, avoid word 'socialism'

Lifezette  "Out of approximately 50,000 total evening news stories on ABC, CBS and NBC combined in the last four years, just 25 have covered the ongoing crisis in socialist Venezuela, according to a Media Research Center study published Tuesday.

"After Venezuela’s former socialist president, Hugo Chávez, passed away in March 2013, the country has spiraled into economic disaster and civil chaos. So far in 2017, more than 50 Venezuelans have been killed during protests against current Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his socialist policies. Many Venezuelans are starving due to shortages of food and other essentials. The country’s inflation rate is set to surpass 700 percent and 25 percent of Venezuelans will be unemployed.
“ 'The few times they have managed to cover the widespread poverty, starvation, and government oppression … they somehow find ways to do that without [saying] the word ‘socialism.'”
“ 'Yet the Big Three evening newscasts have tried to pretend this crisis does not exist, offering virtually no coverage as the situation has deteriorated over the past four years,” MRC Research Analyst Mike Ciandella wrote [1].
“ 'The networks have also been reluctant to attach the ‘socialist’ label to Venezuela’s government, and have utterly failed to criticize liberal politicians and celebrities who have praised the Chávez and Maduro regimes,” Ciandella added." . . .

Now That The Secret Service Is Investigating, Kathy Griffin Is Suddenly Sorry…

Weasel Zippers  "As we just reported, the Secret Service is now investigating Kathy Griffin for her beading picture of
"Her first response to the furor was defiance and justifying her actions, that she had a right to mock Trump."

Soon to appear on "Courageous Women of Hollywood" or something.

Kathy Griffin Beheads President Trump In Photoshoot

Weasel Zippers  First released by TMZ which contained this tweet
Has-been Kathy Griffin, desperate for a headline, plays on the whiny, childish mentality of Trump-haters to gain notoriety.
If anyone had done this to Obama, the media would've roasted the has-been and made them into a pariah that wished she never-was.

"UPDATE: Griffin Posts Video Online Of Decapitation…"

USA Today

Maybe The View?
Care to start a pool as to which night-time TV show has her as a guest (who will be roundly applauded, I might add)? TD

This guy lost his career because of his parody of Barack Obama:

Get Out of My Class and Leave America

"First, get out of my class. You can fill out the drop slip over at James Hall. Just tell them you don’t believe in true diversity and you want to be surrounded by people who agree with your twisted interpretation of the Constitution simply because they are the kind of people who will protect you from having your beliefs challenged or your feelings hurt."

Ward Bond (Not the late actor, obviously), quoting a column by Professor Mike Adams
. . . "Let’s get something straight right now. You have no right to be unoffended. You have a right to be offended with regularity. It is the price you pay for living in a free society. If you don’t understand that you are confused and dangerously so. In part, I blame your high school teachers for failing to teach you basic civics before you got your diploma. Most of you went to the public high schools, which are a disaster. Don’t tell me that offended you. I went to a public high school.

"Of course, your high school might not be the problem. It is entirely possible that the main reason why so many of you are confused about free speech is that piece of paper hanging on the wall right over there. Please turn your attention to that ridiculous document that is framed and hanging by the door. In fact, take a few minutes to read it before you leave class today. It is our campus speech code. It specifically says that there is a requirement that everyone must only engage in discourse that is “respectful.” That assertion is as ludicrous as it is illegal. I plan to have that thing ripped down from every classroom on campus before I retire." . . .

Dear Mrs. Clinton: Please Concede the Election, Now

Political Cartoons by Steve Kelley

Christopher Chantrill  "Last week Hillary Clinton reprised her notorious Wellesley graduation speech with another graceless graduation day speech at her alma mater. In her latest effort, the losing candidate in the 2016 presidential election continued her Sore Loser narrative that began the day after the November 8 election, and launched damp squib after damp squib at the president.
"Honestly, I don’t know what Hillary Clinton thinks she is doing with all this “resistance” talk, and the foolish idea, told to New York magazine, that she “beat both of them,” Sanders and Trump.
"I suppose that what with all their postmodern prattle that Democrats these days don’t study political science, don’t study history and don’t study Germans like Clausewitz. All they do, one supposes, is go to seminars on Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, courtesy of the Catholic Church, and spend their lives “organizing΅ and “resisting.”
. . .
"In my view, the measure of a man is not what he believes at the end of the rainbow of justice, but what he is willing to concede to the other side in the spirit of good will, right now.
"Obviously, there is not much good will in a political party that calls out the Other as racist sexist deplorables.
"The problem is that two can play at that game and it merely leads to politics by other means.
"And the Hillary Clintons and the media are no better than the generals that liberals tell us are always fighting the last war."
