Journalism morphs into propaganda

American Thinker
Acosta Is a Symptom of Dead Left-wing Journalism  "Let’s be clear. Journalism has been ruined for some time now, decades in fact. The American legacy media has left-wingers who have failed to put their political feelings aside when reporting facts. They use word gymnastics to create a false narrative and sway public opinion. Our Founding Fathers wanted a free press to keep the government in check, but the liberal media destroyed their intention. "
. . . "The left kills anything it touches, and journalism is no different. Leftist journalists have destroyed their reputation and most likely will never recover from the self-inflicted damage."
"No president before Trump ever pushed back on the media. They were often afraid of bad coverage, but they received negative results regardless. However, Trump is not a typical Republican politician. He calls the mainstream media out for their biases and pushes back when necessary." . . .

Jim Acosta’s Self-Important Martyr Routine Is Growing Stale  . . . "But this claim that Trump’s harsh words towards Ryan were somehow racially motivated is insane if you watch the clip. At the briefing, Ryan interrupted Saagar Enjeti, an Indian-American who is the White House correspondent for The Daily Caller, before he could ask a question after being called upon. President Trump scolded her for being rude and interrupting Enjeti, then proceeded to take a question from him and answer it." . . . Also here.

Doesn't Anybody Here RESPECT Us Journalists?  "The snowflake disease is catching. Donald Trump, of all people, tried to teach a couple of White House reporters a little needed manners this week and you might have thought he had repealed the First Amendment with an executive order.

"Several of the snowflakes, who make their living by posing embarrassing when not rude questions to nearly everyone they talk to in pursuit of a day’s work, took to the fainting couches in the White House press lounge after the president returned shot for shell.
"Yamiche Alcindor of National Public Radio asked the president why he calls himself a “nationalist” when he should know that the word has been twisted into a meaning it once never had.
“ 'Mr. President,” she said, “on the campaign trail you called yourself a ‘nationalist,’ and some heard that as emboldening white nationalists. There are some people that say the Republican Party is seen as supporting white nationalists because of your rhetoric. What do you make of that?' ” . . .

"This is the classic ‘when-did-you-stop-beating your wife’ question. To answer it is to accept the premise, that a nationalist is a racist and bigot simply because “some people” say so, and that “the Republican Party is seen as supporting white nationalists because of [the president’s] rhetoric.” She apparently never learned that “some” is not a legitimate source." . . .

Incoming Democrat Chairman: Dems Will Go ‘All-In’ On Russia, Impeach Kavanaugh For ‘Perjury’

Mollie Hemingway

Also laments that elite Republicans are joining Democrats.
"Judiciary Committee ranking member Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., revealed plans for House Democrats to investigate and impeach Justice Brett Kavanaugh for alleged perjury and investigate and impeach President Donald Trump for alleged treasonous collusion with Russia.
"In post-election chats with various callers while riding the Acela train from New York to Washington, Nadler gave advice to a newly elected representative and discussed potential 2020 Democratic presidential nominees with another. He also lamented identity politics and the thriving economy and worried about Democrats losing working-class voters while gaining elite former Republicans and suburban women.
"Nadler was headed to DC for a two-day planning session with his staff and Judiciary Committee staff. “We’ve got to figure out what we’re doing,” he explained in a phone call with a friend. Nadler requested that the friend’s name be concealed on the grounds he is a private citizen.
"The two discussed two routes for investigating new Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh. The first is to go after the FBI for how they handled the investigation into unsubstantiated claims he sexually assaulted women. “They didn’t even do a half-ass job,” he said. “They didn’t interview 30 witnesses who said ‘Interview me! I’ve got a lot to say!'” he said, while mimicking people waving their hands to be called on.
"His other plan is to go after Kavanaugh because “there’s a real indication that Kavanaugh committed perjury.” He claimed that The Atlantic published an article about the allegations of a third woman. Then he claimed that when Kavanaugh was “asked at a committee hearing under oath when he first heard of the subject, he said, ‘When I’d heard of the Atlantic article.’ But there is an email chain apparently dating from well before that from him about ‘How can we deal with this?'” Nadler told the caller." . . .

The Carlson home attack: when poor education and the internet meld together

So much for being stewards of the American Republic.

. . . "The Twitter and Facebook accounts used to coordinate this assault and others are called “Smash Racism DC” and show that the claims Twitter and Facebook make about “community standards,” etc., are simply bullsh** window dressing to suppress conservative voices. There is no way a rightwing account that existed in order to dox leftwing celebrities and organize mob violence would have survived. But it took a near-home invasion of Carlson’s house to get Twitter to act. More evidence that these companies must start being held legally liable, as they clearly allied with one side in this drift to ritualized political violence." . . .  RedState

WATCH: ‘Knock Knock Tucker’: Leftists Protest Tucker Carlson at His Home  . . . "Tweets from the account that shared the videos claim Carlson has ties to white supremacists and states, “You can’t hide from those you hurt, Tucker.”
"The group also chanted, “No borders! No walls! No USA at all!' ”
Vox co-founder Matthew Yglesias blames Tucker Carlson for the mob that attacked his home . . . "While a number progressives have spoken out against the mob that terrorizedTucker Carlson’s wife when she was alone in the Northwest DC house, other people who should know better are throwing their support behind the mob.
"Matthew Yglesias, the co-founder of Vox issued a series of tweets yesterday blaming Tucker Carlson for the mob that attacked his house." . . .
DC Police investigating Antifa mob attack on Tucker Carlson’s home as ‘hate crime’
. . . "Since this was an attempt to instill fear and change behavior with threats of violence, it seems to me that it falls under the definition of terroristic threat, which, I believe, is a more serious crime:
A terroristic threat is a crime generally involving a threat to commit violence communicated with the intent to terrorize another, to cause evacuation of a building, or to cause serious public inconvenience, in reckless disregard of the risk of causing such terror or inconvenience. It may mean an offense against property or involving danger to another person that may include but is not limited to recklessly endangering another person, harassment, stalking, ethnic intimidation, and criminal mischief.

"It may fall under federal jurisdiction:" . . .
Press silent about mob attacking Tucker Carlson's wife . . . . . . "This silence also gives license to the same mob to go after commentators who do not hate President Trump enough.
"The Bill of Rights is a pact between the two sides of the political spectrum. The agreement is one of mutual respect for rights. Once broken, we enable violence.
"I urge every talk show host on cable to condemn the mob, if only for self-preservation." . . .

Why Schneiderman left but not Ellison

Don Surber  "Despite (maybe because of) credible accusations of domestic abuse, Minnesotans elected Democrat Keith Ellison as their state attorney general. He won by four points over Republican Doug Wardlow.

"How things have changed in the last six months. Jane Mayer and Ronan Farrow wrote an expose in New Yorker that the New York Attorney General, Democrat Eric Schneiderman, abused four women.

"Very quickly, the publication added an update at the top of the story: "Three hours after the publication of this story, Schneiderman resigned from his position. 'While these allegations are unrelated to my professional conduct or the operations of the office, they will effectively prevent me from leading the office’s work at this critical time,' he said in a statement. 'I therefore resign my office, effective at the close of business on May 8, 2018.'

"The story was posted on May 7.

"Ellison's ex-live-in girlfriend's allegations of abuse did not prompt the Democrat Party to abandon him. They circled their wagons.

"CNN reported, "In August, the son of Ellison's former girlfriend Karen Monahan detailed allegations of physical abuse by the congressman in a Facebook post, saying that he discovered a video on his mother's computer in 2017 that allegedly showed Ellison attempting to drag Monahan off a bed while cursing at her."

"So why did Schneiderman resign but not Ellison?"

"Power.

"Schneiderman was disposable. Ellison was not.

"The Democrat governor of New York had the power to replace Schneiderman with another Democrat. In this case, Barbara Underwood.

"But in Minnesota, the fear was voters would elect a Republican if they admitted that Ellison was a wife beater (well, girlfriend dragger). And so they rode out the storm.

"My advice to women, never date a Democrat."

Police Investigating Protest Outside Tucker Carlson’s Home

National Review  "Washington, D.C. police are investigating a self-described “anti-fascist” group for potential hate crimes related to a hostile demonstration it organized outside the home of Fox News personality Tucker Carlson Wednesday night.
"Washington’s Metropolitan Police Department responded just after 6 p.m. to a call from Carlson’s wife, who was home alone when a mob of roughly 20 protesters appeared outside their home, chanting obscenities and demanding that Carlson leave town.
"The protesters vandalized Carlson’s property, spray painting an anarchist symbol on his driveway and cracking his oak front door, according to police reports.
"A brief video of the incident posted to Twitter by the self-described “anti-fascist” group Smash Racism DC shows one protester ringing Carlson’s door bell as others chant “Tucker Carlson, we will fight! We know where you sleep at night!”
"Smash Racism DC initially posted Carlson’s address on Twitter, but the tweet was deleted shortly before the group’s entire account was suspended for violating the platform’s terms of service.
"Carlson told the Washington Post Thursday that his wife was home alone when the protesters arrived and, fearing a home invasion, locked herself in their pantry.
“ 'It wasn’t a protest. It was a threat,” Carlson said. “They weren’t protesting anything specific that I had said. They weren’t asking me to change anything. They weren’t protesting a policy or advocating for legislation. . . . They were threatening me and my family and telling me to leave my own neighborhood in the city that I grew up in.”
"Fox News called the incident “reprehensible” in a Thursday statement.
"Members of Smash Racism DC have previously targeted Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Homeland Kirstjen Nielsen, forcing them out of Washington, D.C. restaurants by screaming and invading their personal space in separate incidents.“We as a nation have become far too intolerant of different points of view,” the statement said. “Recent events across our country clearly highlight the need for a more civil, respectful, and inclusive national conversation.' ”  Jack Crowe

Seriously? Some On The 'View' Think CNN's Jim Acosta Was Assaulted

Matt Vespa  Jim Acosta’s White House press pass has been pulled—and once again, we have a meltdown. From Acosta’s rants to CNN saying this is a threat to democracy, you’d think that the Trump White House tossed a Walter Cronkite-like reporter out onto the street. CNN’s Acosta is no Cronkite. What sparked his removal from the room? Acosta, President Trump’s favorite punching bag, got into a tense exchange about his rhetoric on immigration, specifically about the illegal alien caravan approaching the southern border. It devolved into a difference of opinion about the term "invasion," which the president has used to describe this caravan. Acosta obviously disagreed. Then, the fireworks began (via NBC News):" . . .
. . .
"As you can see in the video, a White House aide tried to grab Acosta’s microphone away, but he refused to give it up. Apparently, to some on the Left, the aide is the one who committed assault and battery. One of these people is co-host of The View Sunny Hostin (via Washington Times):"

Megyn Kelly defends Tucker Carlson after his home is targeted by an Antifa mob as a criminal investigation is launched into the extreme Twitter feed and rabble that gathered outside

UK Daily Mail  . . . "The group of about 20 from Smash Racism DC, descended on the conservative commentator's home, while Tucker's wife Susan, was alone when she heard the commotion outside.
"She locked herself in the pantry and called police at 6.30pm as the mob screamed and banged on her front door.
"The protesters chanted slogans such as 'we will fight, we know where you sleep at night'
" 'I called my wife. She had been in the kitchen alone getting ready to go to dinner and she heard pounding on the front door and screaming. ... Someone started throwing himself against the front door and actually cracked the front door,' Carlson told The Washington Post."

From a Washington Post interview with one of these protestors:  . . . "One of the protesters told The Post the group did not intend to be violent and did not attempt to break into Carlson’s home. The protester, who spoke on the condition of anonymity out of fear of retaliation, said that the group wanted to make Carlson uncomfortable.
“ 'The reason for this tactic is to bring the pain that is felt every day among marginalized people who have been victim of right-wing politics to Tucker and make it personal,” the protester said. “He has explicitly made far-right politics go mainstream. That is what he has done with his television show and platform.”
"The person said the group did not plan to protest in front of Carlson’s home in the dark, but failed to account for last weekend’s daylight saving time change.

" 'He said Trump and others on the right consistently describe protests by anyone on the left as violent and out of control, whatever the facts — so the group is unconcerned if their more extreme tactics make Democrats look bad."

How to lose a House majority in three easy steps

Political Cartoons by Gary Varvel
Nadler is a born loser. His strategy will result in a Republican victory in 2020 and a loss of the Democratic majority. But at least the hysterical radicals he answers to will be pleased when their lust for Republican blood is sated.
Rick Moran  "Everyone knows that House Democrats have blood in their eyes and hate in their hearts as they ascend (or descend) into their majority status. But many are wondering exactly how all that pent-up rage and hysteria will manifest itself when they begin to govern.
"Possible incoming speaker Nancy Pelosi used the "bi" word in her election night press conference. No, she wasn't talking about LGBTQ issues. She proclaimed a new era of "bi-partisanship" in the House.

"How long do you think this will last? I give it about 24 hours.
"As Pelosi got busy trying to soothe the hurt feelings of Republicans (while planning their destruction), incoming Judiciary Chairman Rep. Jerold Nadler had a slightly different agenda to tout. It seems that the rabidly partisan Mr. Nadler has got it in his head that the radical leftists who are now driving the agenda of the Democratic party expect him to exact a measure of revenge on his GOP tormentors - specifically Donald Trump and the new Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh." . . .

Tucker Carlson Speaks Out After Leftist Mob Attacks His Home, Wife; Chilling New Details Just Released

The Federalist Papers  "Win or lose, you can always count on Democrats to behave like a bunch of thugs after an election. But now, the left has completely thrown caution (and decency) to the wind as they’re becoming more and more like a terrorist organization.
. . .
His wife, who was the only person home at the time of the ambush, initially thought it was a home invasion after hearing the screaming and banging on the door. She locked herself in their pantry and called the police, Carlson said.Carlson and his wife have four young children; none of them were home during the incident. As reported by The Daily Wire on Wednesday, a group known as Smash Racism DC posted videos of the ambush to Twitter, complete with captions boasting of their threats against the Fox host.“‘Racist scumbag, leave town!’ Every night you spread fear into our homes—fear of the other, fear of us, and fear of them. Each night you tell us we are not safe. Tonight you’re reminded that we have a voice. Tonight, we remind you that you are not safe either,” read one of Smash Racism DC’s captions.

'You Can't Do It Quietly': Top Democrat Overheard Discussing Kavanaugh Impeachment Plans

Daily Caller

  • Top Democrat Jerrold Nadler was overheard on an Acela train discussing Democrats’ plans for going after Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
  • Nadler wants to investigate Kavanaugh for perjury but bungled the facts in explaining his reasoning.
  • Nadler will take over as chairman of the House Judiciary Committee as a result of Democrats flipping the House on Tuesday.
"The top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee was overheard Wednesday discussing Democrats’ plans to investigate and try to impeach Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
"New York Democratic Rep. Jerrold Nadler took a series of phone calls while riding the Acela train from New York to Washington, D.C., not knowing that The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway was also on the train and within earshot.
"Nadler is set to take over as judiciary chairman as a result of Democrats flipping the Housein Tuesday’s midterm elections.
"Nadler claimed in one call that “there’s a real indication that Kavanaugh committed perjury,” claiming the justice misled about when he first heard about the second of several unproven allegations against him.
"Nadler claimed Kavanaugh was “asked at a committee hearing under oath when he first heard of the subject, he said, ‘When I’d heard of The Atlantic article.’ But there is an email chain apparently dating from well before that from him about ‘How can we deal with this?'”
"Nadler appeared to confuse The Atlantic with The New Yorker, which first reported the second allegation.
"The congressman’s claim echoed a misleading NBC News article that left out crucial context about Kavanaugh’s answer — one of several Kavanaugh stories that NBC got wrong." . . .

Why is the press trying to erase GOP congressional winner Young Kim from all the 'Year of the Woman' hoopla?

Monica Showalter  "CBS News last night went all in for the identity politics advocacy, highlighting the numbers of women elected to the new incoming House, which was won by the Democrats. The idea of course was to paint Republicans by implication as racist and sexist, and promote Democrats as the only party of 'inclusion.'

"It's drivel - and with CBS's exclusion of Southern California's first Korean-American congresswoman, Young Kim, it was obviously a selectively edited report.
"Young's problem, see, is that she's a Republican who defeated a Democrat, and that doesn't quite fit the "narrative." So despite being the first Korean-American congresswoman, she got left out of the story. Take a gander at the report:"  Video . . .

. . . "Nope, no coverage. As the Stalinists did it, she's a "non-person."
"And that's rather disgusting. Most Republicans don't play the identity politics game, and that includes the conservative Kim, given that she won the election based on her ideas, not her femininity let alone race. But if that's the game CBS wants to play, she belongs in the bunch. Yet she didn't make the cut." . . .
