The tyrannical transformation of America -

With the three branches of the federal government in radical woke hands, the Constitution would become the plaything of the totalitarians.  Gone would be the traditional concept of free speech; and with it, the media would, like corporate America, continue as handmaidens of wokeness.

American Thinker  "Democrats seek an increase membership on the Supreme Court of the United States from nine to 13.  At present, the high court is divided among 6 Republican appointees and three Democrat appointees.   The four additional justices, presumably to be named by Biden, would change the divide to 7 Democrat appointees and 6 Republicans.   But considering the drift of Chief Justice John Roberts toward the liberal clique, the actual division on the high court is five conservatives and four liberals.  Thus, the Democrat plan to add four justices to the Supreme Court reflects overkill, arguably." . . .

. . . "To borrow a phrase used by. the late Yale law professor Alexander Bickel, in having achieved total domination of White House and Congress, by however slight a margin, the left is moving to "kick over the traces" to transform the country into a one-party state.  A Supreme Court in radical woke hands would complete the governance trifecta -- legislative, executive and judicial branches of the federal government in radical woke hands.

"What legislation would be beyond the bounds of radical woke tyranny?" . . .

Can you blame Raúl for leaving? -

Portland should be this clean

"According to news reports, Cuba's chief, Raúl Castro, is resigning and passing the ball to the younger generation.  This is from NBC News:

Raul Castro confirmed Friday he is stepping down as the head of the Communist Party of Cuba, the most powerful position on the island.

During a speech on the first day of the Communist Party's eighth congress, he said he would hand over power to a younger generation that is "full of passion and anti-imperialist spirit."

A Place of Honor in Every Black Home

American Thinker  "Ida B. Wells, born into slavery in 1862 and orphaned at 16, rose to fame as a journalist by shining light on things we didn't want to see — in particular, the horror of lynching.  Five thousand Americans were lynched over 90 years, three quarters of them black.  The numbers don't account for the notoriety of the practice; rather, the demonic zeal of its practitioners does.  Even reading about it will turn your stomach.  Do not look at the photos they displayed with pride of charred bodies.  Lynch mobs spread terror among non-white people and those who would defend the rule of law.

"Ida B. Wells proposed a solution.  "A Winchester rifle should have a place of honor in every black home," she wrote, "... for that protection which the law refuses to give."  "The only times an Afro-American who was assaulted got away," Ida noted, "[were] when he had a gun and used it in self-defense."

"Translated for today, Wells's proposal will sound radical to some.  The Civil War began with muzzle-loading muskets but ended with breech-loading rifles firing modern cartridges.  The Winchester lever-action debuted in 1873.  The “gun that won the West" was a repeating rifle that stored as many as a dozen cartridges in a tubular magazine fitted under the barrel.  Someone armed with a Winchester could fire as fast as he could work the cocking lever and pull the trigger.  Fans of old westerns like The Rifleman recognize the gun.  It allowed an individual a new level of self-defense against multiple attackers.  Atticus Finch used it to face down the mob in To Kill a Mockingbird.  No one improved on it until 1905, when the self-loading, or semi-automatic, rifle made the lever unnecessary — its more advanced action loads a fresh cartridge from a magazine each time the trigger is pulled.

"When Wells was writing, the Winchester, battle rifle of the U.S. military, was state-of-the-art.  Wells wanted one in the hands of every black family.  Its modern civilian counterpart is the AR-15." . . .

Ida B. Wells and the Campaign against Lynching - Bill of Rights Institute  . . . "Among the outraged African Americans who lived in Memphis at the time was journalist Ida B. Wells, who was in New York when the murders occurred. She had been born a slave in 1862 during the Civil War, and afterward her family became active in the Republican Party and the Freedman’s Aid Society. Wells was known for standing up to the humiliations of segregation." . . .

Ida B. Wells  Ida Bell Wells-Barnett (July 16, 1862 – March 25, 1931) was an American investigative journalist, educator, and early leader in the civil rights movement. She was one of the founders of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).[1] Over the course of a lifetime dedicated to combating prejudice and violence, and the fight for African-American equality, especially that of women, Wells arguably became the most famous Black woman in America.[2] . . .

Many conversations about CNN lately

A CNN employee continues to give away devastating trade secrets - American Thinker   "As is always the case with Project Veritas, it doesn’t stop with one video. Instead, day after day, there’s a steady drip, drip, drip of incriminating videos about Project Veritas’s target – in this case, CNN. Two days ago, we learned that CNN boss Jeff Zucker instructed employees to do everything they could, including lying, to ensure Trump’s loss and Biden’s win. On Thursday, the latest video revealed that you weren’t imagining it when you suspected CNN of deliberately slanting its racial coverage to protect Blacks and Black Lives Matter.

"There’s an interesting change of tone in Thursday’s video. In the video released on Tuesday, CNN Technical Director Charlie Chester was boastfully triumphant as he explained how CNN deliberately set about to undermine Trump and bolster Biden. He was proud of the “propaganda” that pushed Jeff Zucker’s (and, presumably, all of the CNN employees’) partisan agenda.

"In the latest video, about CNN’s deliberate effort to hide a malefactor’s race if he or she is Black, Chester seems sad and confused. He clearly finds it disheartening that the plaster saints he’s constructed in his own mind every time he thinks about Blacks actually have some ugly breaks in them.

"The video opens with Chester confessing to doing his own research and discovering unmediated facts about the rash of attacks on Asian people: . . ."

"These videos are fascinating but it’s important that the correct people see them. After all, Leftists don’t care that lying, manipulative propaganda is being used to advance their agenda. Meanwhile, conservatives already know that this is happening and are simply happy to have corroboration. It’s the independents, the ones who naively think the media is honest, who need to see this video so that they can fully understand that they’re living in a world of lies and start seeking the truth."

CNN Staffer Admits Network is Trying to Help Black Lives Matter But There's Something in the Way

Twitter has purged Project Veritas’ James O’Keefe, who will file a lawsuit against them Monday, but the show goes on, right? O’Keefe is in the midst of revealing multiple videos on his outlet’s investigation into the inner workings at CNN.

"In the newest video, Chester admits to researching Asian hate and the attacks they’ve endured recently, but found that it was primarily black men who were assaulting them.

“ 'A bunch of black men that have been attacking Asians,” he said. “I’m like, ‘What are you doing?'” . . .

You Can ALWAYS Count on Mitt Romney to Do the Wrong Thing...ALWAYS.

 Matt Vespa (townhall.com)

. . . "How does killing 1.4 million jobs raise people out of poverty? Well, Mitt Romney appears to be willing to participate in this economic experiment for which we all know the outcome."

"If there’s one Republican senator who is not only totally useless but can always be expected to do the wrong thing, it’ll be Mitt Romney. Lisa Murkowski is a close runner-up, but Romney’s latest move is just more proof that this man remains a traitor to the party. He voted with Democrats to convict Trump in both of their impeachment efforts. The only group in Utah that truly likes the jobs he’s doing are the few Democrats who live there, and now he’s working with them to increase the minimum wage. Why Mitt? Why (via Huffington Post):

Sens. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) are in the process of crafting bipartisan legislation to increase the minimum wage, Romney confirmed to HuffPost on Wednesday.

“We’re negotiating a minimum wage proposal which we would ultimately take to our group of 20 and see how they would react to it and go from there,” Romney said, referring to a bipartisan group of 20 senators who are hoping to find ways to make the Senate function better.

The Utah senator declined to share more details about the proposal, including its timeline. A spokesperson for Sinema did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Where Have You Gone, Atticus Finch?

Hell, as even Snopes had to concede Vice President Kamala Harris “encouraged her supporters to donate” to a nonprofit called the Minnesota Freedom Fund (MFF) that was bailing out members of the mob arrested for rioting after George Floyd’s death.

To Kill a Mockingbird

American Thinker  "In the archives of legal fiction, two characters best embody historic liberal self-perception. One is attorney Atticus Finch of To Kill a Mockingbird fame. The other is Juror #8 in the 1957 film, 12 Angry Men. Today, each is an endangered species.

"In his defense of Tom Robinson, a black man accused of rape in 1930s Alabama, Atticus ignored public opinion. He stared down the mobs intent on extra-legal justice and protected his ”mockingbird” as best he could. The unlikely mockingbird today is former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. As Chauvin learned quickly, if he did not know it beforehand, today’s vestigial liberals identify not with Atticus but with the mob.

"Hell, as even Snopes had to concede Vice President Kamala Harris “encouraged her supporters to donate” to a nonprofit called the Minnesota Freedom Fund (MFF) that was bailing out members of the mob arrested for rioting after George Floyd’s death.

"Chauvin’s crime, like Robinson’s, was being of a certain race in a society that increasingly sees justice only through the prism of race. Like the fictional Robinson, the real-life Chauvin represents one of a long and growing line of sacrificial lambs offered on the altar of racial “justice” to expiate the nation’s imagined sins." . . .

Biden Intelligence Community Breaches Authority to Target the Right

Townhall

 Julie Kelly

Instead of prioritizing resources to confront the menace posed by America’s foreign adversaries the IC is devoting most of its time to pursuing Americans on the political Right.

"The freshly reelected Republican senator from Nebraska had kind words this week for Joe Biden’s intelligence chiefs. “The American people are blessed to have an [intelligence community] as serious as ours,” Senator Ben Sasse said during Wednesday’s Senate Intelligence Committee hearing. He called the group, which included FBI Director Christopher Wray and CIA Director William Burns, “heroes” and wanted a chance to “say thank you” in front of the American people.

"Sasse, who is supposed to act as a fierce skeptic not a fawning cheerleader of the world’s most powerful intelligence apparatus, singled out Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines for praise. “Your opening statement . . . was incredibly strong,” Sasse swooned

"Haines, the top deputy to former CIA Director John Brennan during the Obama Administration, undoubtedly marveled at winning such a groveling endorsement from a sitting Republican senator—or perhaps she internally laughed at winning over yet another reliable GOP dupe. (In fairness, most Republicans on the committee joined in Sasse’s praise for Haines.)

"But Senate Republicans should have been outraged rather than starry-eyed over Haines’ opening statement as well as her conduct in office since taking the reins of the intelligence community the day after Joe Biden’s inauguration. Haines is wasting no time accelerating the weaponization of a sprawling organization that is supposed to identify threats to the homeland by foreign actors, not target Americans with the wrong political views." . . .

Gender-Neutral Mr Potato Head Proves Unpopular with Public, Polls Show

 Neon Nettle

Morning Consult survey reveals majority of public disapproves of the move

"Hasbro’s recent decision to go "woke" and introduce gender-neutral branding for the iconic Mr. Potato Head toy has proved to be widely unpopular with most members of the public, a new poll has found.

"During a Morning Consult survey conducted Feb. 26 to March 1, over half (52 percent) of the 2,200 adults who responded say disapproved of the recent change.

"Twenty percent approved of scrubbing "Mr." from the name and about a quarter (28 percent) had no opinion on the new "Potato Head" branding.

"The results suggest Hasbro has “[created] a strong net negative sentiment for the new brand name,” Morning Consult noted." . . .

Putin's disrespectful treatment of Joe Biden

Think Pelosi's sixteen-year-old voters will pick more competent national leaders than what we have now?

How to Start a War – PJ Media  . . . "Putin earlier had concluded that Trump was dangerously unpredictable, and perhaps best not provoked. After all, the Trump administration took out Russian mercenaries in Syria. It beefed up defense spending and upped sanctions.

"The Trump administration flooded the world with cheap oil to Russia’s chagrin. It pulled out from asymmetrical missile treaties with Russia. It sold sophisticated arms to the Ukrainians. The Russians concluded that Trump might do anything, and so waited for another president before again testing America.

"In contrast, Biden often talks provocatively — while carrying a twig. He has gratuitously called Putin “a killer.” And he warned that the Russian dictator “will pay a price” for supposedly interfering in the 2020 election.

"Unfortunately, Biden’s bombast follows four years of a Russian-collusion hoax, fueled by a concocted dossier paid for by the Democratic National Committee and the campaign of 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton." . . .

Ukraine standoff: Putin will bear 'very painful consequences' if troops cross border | Daily Mail Online Biden learned to be a world leader from Obama.

'Washington should realize that it will have to pay a price for the degradation of the bilateral ties,' Zakharova said, adding that 'the responsibility for that will fully lie with the United States.'

"She said the ministry has summoned the U.S. ambassador for a 'hard conversation,' but wouldn't immediately say what action Russia will take. " . . .

"The response by the UK and US would be heavy on rhetoric rather than military action, thereby providing Putin with another propaganda victory in time for the Russian parliamentary elections later this year. As this game plays out, London and Washington appear impotent, all words and no intervention – because there is simply no desirable course of action for Nato's leading partners to embark upon to influence Russia's affairs.

"This lack of options is as obvious to Putin as it is to anyone else. The reality is only he is in a position to call the shots.

Insanity Wrap #188: While Biden Bumbled, Putin Went on War Footing on Land and Sea – PJ Media   "With the taking of Crimea in 2014 on Obama’s watch, and Russia’s effective blockade of the Kerch Strait while Biden bumbled, Russia has annexed Ukraine’s biggest port and has now put several others out of business.

"Putin just scored his first big win against a vacillating new administration. It reminds Insanity Wrap all-too-much of the time Kruschev did something similar against JFK in his first year in office, and then decided it would be simply fabulous to put nuclear missiles in Cuba.

Biden Declares Threat from Russia a 'National Emergecy' | Neon Nettle

"Joe Biden has signed an executive order to officially declare the threat from Russia a "national emergency."

"Biden signed the declaration on Thursday as the White House hit Russia with fresh sanctions.

"The U.S. Department of State also said it is expelling ten Russian officials from the Kremlin’s bilateral mission.

Let what is happening under Joe Biden ‘be a lesson’

Sky News Australia The “chaos of illegal arrivals” has started up again after Joe Biden scrapped Donald Trump’s work on illegal migration, according to Sky News host Peta Credlin." . . .

“Since the change of president in January, over 300,000 people… have crossed illegally from Mexico into the United States,” Ms Credlin said.
“ 'In their quest for open borders and global government, the left thrives, on the generosity of good people – and the reality that most people don't know all the facts about refugees, illegal migration, and a nation's right to secure its borders.
“I was not always a great fan of the former US President Donald Trump, but his determination to build a wall with Mexico and stop the waves of illegal migration, at least meant that the flood had slowed – under his term - to a comparative trickle.
'But because Trump was all bad according to the new president, of course, and his Democratic colleagues, just about all his works had to be scrapped, even the ones that had succeeded, such as his efforts to hinder illegal migration.”
"Ms Credlin said the result of this was “absolutely predictable - this trade in human suffering, particularly in relation to young children” started up again after Joe Biden’s inauguration.
“ 'Let what’s happening in America be a bit of a lesson,” she said.
“' Government’s can’t let misplaced compassion drive their border protection policy. And voters need to be very careful about electing political parties that are conflicted on this issue.”

Democrats (who destroy everything they touch) Set to Introduce Court Packing Bill

National Review’s David Harsanyi dug up a quote from the Roosevelt era that pretty much sums up the whole thing.FDR’s Court-packing scheme, wrote the Democrat-controlled Senate Judiciary Committee in 1937, “is a measure which should be so emphatically rejected that its parallel will never again be presented to the free representatives of the free people of America.”
FDR tried packing the court but was rejected by a wise congress

Why the Left Is Wrong to Attack Justice Breyer on Court-Packing | The American Spectator | USA News and Politics  "Justice Stephen Breyer needs to get with the program. At least that’s what many on the left think after last week. In remarks made for Harvard Law School, the Supreme Court justice threw cold water on progressives’ desire to expand (i.e. pack) the court. His remarks gave several reasons against it, saying he wished to get those favoring such measures to “think long and hard before embodying those changes in law.” Adding to his transgression was timing; these critiques came out the same week that President Joe Biden took a small step toward court expansion, establishing a commission to study it among other proposals for judicial reform.

"Many progressives set a high priority on adding justices to the nation’s highest bench." . . .

Israel Demolishes Super-Secure Iranian Nuclear Facility, and the Biden Bunch Was Not Given Advance Warning

Contempt for the US; no sign of embarrassment in Democrats and their press.

The Iranian official stressed that such an operation takes years, saying “the design of the enemy was very beautiful.”

RedState  "On Easter Sunday, a massive explosion ripped through the top-secret Iranian nuclear weapons research facility at Natanz. There were some interesting aspects to the explosion. In a way, this was deja vu because, in July 2020, the same facility was hit by a cyberattack that damaged the centrifuge production plant inside the Natanz facility.  Just days before this current event, Iran brought online new centrifuges that violated provisions of the corrupt Iran nuclear deal that Biden is trying to bring back from the dead. The day before, Iran had brought some state-of-the-art centrifuges to accelerate their illegal enrichment program. The notable thing about the explosion was that it took place some 50-meters underground in an electrical substation designed to be impervious to conventional air attacks.

A power failure that appeared to have been caused by a deliberately planned explosion struck Iran’s Natanz uranium enrichment site on Sunday, in what Iranian officials called an act of sabotage that they suggested had been carried out by Israel.

The blackout injected new uncertainty into diplomatic efforts that began last week to salvage the 2015 nuclear deal repudiated by the Trump administration.  . . .

Attack On Iran’s Top Nuke Site “Destroyed” Thousands of Centrifuges, Senior Regime Official Admits (legalinsurrection.com)   "The attack on Iran’s top underground nuclear weapons facility appears to have done more damage than previously reported. Sunday’s explosion may have seriously crippled Tehran’s ability to move ahead with large-scale production weapons-grade uranium, a senior regime official admitted.

"The breach left “several thousand centrifuges damaged and destroyed,” the head of Iran’s parliamentary research center, Alireza Zakani, told a state-run broadcaster.

"Following the breach on the weekend, Iran’s most secure nuclear weapons facility has reportedly been knocked out of operation. “The attacked damaged an unknown number of centrifuges – sophisticated machines that make uranium usable for nuclear purposes – and has stopped work at the facility for now,” the BBC confirmed on Wednesday.

"The revelations come as Iran sits on the negotiating table with President Joe Biden’s administration with hopes of restoring the Obama-era nuclear agreement.
