Crime Stricken Seattle Chooses Republican Ann Davison for City Attorney Over Progressive Challenger

Legal Insurrection  "Seattle sent a clear message to the loudmouth progressive babies who want to abolish police and jails by electing Republican Ann Davison as the city’s city attorney.

"Davison is the first Republican elected in Seattle since 1989. She is also the “first woman to serve as city attorney”:

At one end stood Thomas-Kennedy, a former public defender who wants to ultimately abolish misdemeanor prosecutions. During the unrest that swept the city in the summer of 2020, she tweeted about her “rabid hatred of the police” and pronounced property destruction during times of protest a “moral imperative.”

At the other end was Seattle attorney and arbitrator Davison, whose perceived transgression for some in liberal Seattle was seen as being as bad as anything her opponent said on social media: She declared herself a Republican in 2020, while President Donald Trump was in the White House.

"Davison ran as a Democrat for City Council in 2019.

"The department has a $35 million budget with around 200 attorneys in three divisions: “Criminal, civil and administration.”

" 'The campaigns centered around misdemeanor crimes:" . . .Read more here

These nine Republican senators failed to sign on for formal challenge to Biden's OSHA vaccine mandate

Hot Air "Senator Mike Braun from Indiana has secured the support of forty other Republican senators to formally challenge President Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine rules on employers with 100 or more employees. Braun is the ranking member of the Senate Subcommittee on Employment and Workplace Safety. Biden’s mandate, to be written by the Department of Labor and enforced through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is expected to be completed and distributed any day now. The subcommittee has jurisdiction over OSHA.

"There are some notable exemptions to Biden’s vaccine mandate, besides religious objections and medical exemptions. Congress, for example, is exempt from the mandate, as are postal workers. The federal mandate requires the Department of Labor to require employers to give workers paid time off to get vaccinated and sick time to recover if side effects occur. The mandates stack up quickly, don’t they? The OSHA requirement for companies with 100 or more employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 gives employers the option of making unvaccinated employees pay for weekly testing. The Biden mandate will affect 80 million workers.". . .

. . . "A Republican aide told Fox News that the remaining nine GOP senators — Sens. Mitch McConnell, Richard Shelby, Susan Collins, Roy Blunt, Lisa Murkowski, Mitt Romney, Bill Cassidy, Tim Scott and Rob Portman — are awaiting the formal filing of the OSHA rule. The aide said that there is no Republican opposition to the disapproval."

Republican Winsome Sears Unloads on MSNBC’s Joy Reid: ‘Get Your Facts Straight’

Winsome:"1generally pleasing and engaging often because of a childlike charm and innocence; a winsome smile.   2CHEERFUL, LIGHTHEARTED"

The Wrap

"Winsome Sears — the first woman and first woman of color elected lieutenant governor of Virginia on Tuesday night — called out Joy Reid after watching the MSNBC host describe the GOP as “dangerous.”

“I wish Joy Reid would invite me on her show — let’s see if she’s woman enough to do that — I’d go in a heartbeat and we’d have a real discussion without Joy speaking about me behind my back, if you will,” Sears said during her appearance on Fox’s “The Story with Martha MacCallum” Wednesday afternoon.

“ '[Reid] talks about white supremacy,” Sears continued. “Does she know that I ran against a white supremacist? I mean Joy come on. Get your facts straight and then come talk to me. I’m waiting for you.”

Dems' Post-Election Plan: Send More Immigrants to Virginia

Ann Coulter

But critical race theory isn't taught in Virginia schools!

The Republican sweep in Virginia Tuesday night has nullified that claim. Glenn Youngkin beat Terry McAuliffe in the governor's race. Republicans took the lieutenant governor's office and, most important, beat the incumbent, George Soros-installed attorney general. In a shocking upset, the GOP even flipped the House of Delegates.

All this, despite the incessantly repeated claim on MSNBC and CNN that "CRT isn't taught in Virginia schools!" uttered every five minutes like "Weather on the Ones!" Who were they trying to fool? Liberal women in New York? They don't vote in Virginia. But MSNBC and CNN so enjoyed sneering about the stupidity of Republicans that they never bothered to consider that the people who would be voting could see with their own eyes what was being taught to their children.

Disturbingly, even with McAuliffe announcing that parents should have no say in what their children are learning in school -- and then telling Virginia teachers that the white ones would have to go -- the election was ridiculously close. The current tally is about 51% to 49%.

"After Tuesday's election, it looks like the Biden administration is going to have to ship a lot more immigrants into the Old Dominion. Bus in tens of thousands of Haitians and, in five or six years, McAuliffe can come out for white slavery and win." . . .

The Democrats Choose Wokeness Over Winning

Their complacent elitism finally trips them up.

https://www.terrellaftermath.com/

The American Spectator   "Whenever Democrats get thumped at the polls, they blame their defeat on poor “communication,” as if the fundamental problem is not the irrationality of their ideas but a mere failure to present them persuasively. But sometimes they absolve themselves completely and just blame the people for a lack of enlightenment. That appears to be the subtext driving much of their post-election analysis this week. They would rather call the people delusional than admit their own delusions.
"The party’s vaunted wokeness, after all, rests on an implied contempt for the people: that they are insufficiently enlightened and must be pushed into the light. This attitude makes for poor politics, as Democrats found out on Tuesday night. Terry McAuliffe, in particular, paid the price for this complacent elitism. He campaigned alongside Barack Obama, whose comment about “made up culture wars” was a thinly veiled insult of the people. Obama might as well have said to Virginians: Stop whining and simply sit back and let us impose wokeness on you.
"Even on Wednesday morning, Democrats cast McAuliffe as the victim of a deluded people, worked up over something that “doesn’t exist,” critical race theory in public schools. But it so obviously does exist. As a former governor, McAuliffe had pushed it on Virginia schools, and he ran a campaign based on its lies. All of his lazy slurs against Glenn Youngkin as a racist stemmed from the mindset of critical race theory.". . .

Capturing this scorn for parents perfectly, Nicole Wallace on MSNBC gasped, “I think the real ominous thing is that critical race theory, which isn’t real, turned the suburbs 15 points to the Trump insurrection-endorsed Republican. What do Democrats do about that?”

A new bond court judge debuts with a fresh mindset that restrains victims and frees violent men on recognizance bonds

CWBChicago  . . . "And one of those judges, Kelly McCarthy, gave an eye-popping performance in felony bond court Friday.

"McCarthy set bail for 27 defendants during the session. She gave 22 of them recognizance bonds — including two charged with felony robbery. She refused to grant prosecutors’ requests to have several defendants held without bail, including one charged with attempted murder for allegedly beating, stomping, and choking his pregnant girlfriend for 20 minutes.

"But that’s not all. In one case, even though nobody asked for it, McCarthy took the unprecedented step of ordering a robbery victim to show up in court to be served with an order to protect the man who allegedly robbed her at gunpoint.

"In another case, prosecutors said a convicted felon admitted that a gun police found inside a purse in a car he was driving was his. Despite the alleged admission, McCarthy ruled there was no probable cause for the man to be detained because “obviously it’s not his purse.”

"And when prosecutors made routine requests for her to hold defendants without bail for violating the bond terms in pending felony cases, McCarthy refused. Twice.

"McCarthy is no stranger to the courts. Before being elected to the bench last year, she was a lawyer and supervisor in the public defender’s office. And, as strange as her decisions may seem, her Friday bond court session may provide Chicagoans with a glimpse of what lies ahead when Illinois outlaws cash bail in 2023." . . .

Texas police refused requests to escort Biden campaign bus bothered by Trump supporters

Well, we do need to be better than this,

Just the News  "Transcripts of 911 calls last year from the San Marcos, Texas, police department show officials turned down multiple requests for assistance from a 2020 Biden campaign bus that was being harassed on the road by pro-Trump vehicles.

"Individuals inside the bus at the time of the incident have filed suit against the police and the transcripts are now evidence in the case.

"Last October, a Biden campaign event in Texas was canceled following an incident during which several vehicles manned by supporters of the former president surrounded a Biden for President campaign bus on the highway in an attempt to disrupt the driver's ability to keep moving.

"Then-president Trump retweeted a video of the traffic event from his now-banned Twitter account and wrote, "I LOVE TEXAS." . . .

Though this is as good as Democrats get:

Juan Williams goes off the deep end, calling parents' rights . . .

Monica Showalter   "Just when you thought Juan Williams was the "reasonable liberal" among assorted leftist talking heads, off he goes down the deep end into the sea of leftist

crazies:

"In an op-ed penned for The Hill, Williams claims that parents upset about their school boards' Critical Race Theory curricula are nothing more than white supremacists:

Now Virginia Republicans are back with a new and improved "Culture Wars" campaign for 2021. The closing argument is once again full of racial division — but this time it is dressed up as a defense of little children.

The rallying cry is "Parents' Rights."

It is a campaign to stop classroom discussion of Black Lives Matter protests or slavery because it could upset some children, especially white children who might feel guilt.

And this time, the Trump-imitating Republicans think they have struck political gold.

"His argument pretty well reinforces the statement of down-in-the-polls Virginia Democrat gubernatorial candidate, Terry McAuliffe, who actually said that parents should have no role in their children's educations." . . .

Williams went on to perpetuate the thoroughly debunked “very fine people” propaganda; a claim Trump referred to white supremacists as “very fine people” in 2017, when in fact, he condemned them — just check the transcript.

Joy Reid: Education ‘Is Code for White Parents Don’t Like the Idea of Teaching about Race’    . . . "Reid said, “[T]he exit polls showed that — which was interesting — that the coronavirus, or that the virus was a very — was not important to many voters there. It was education, which is code for white parents don’t like the idea of teaching about race. And I mean, unfortunately, race is just the most palpable tool in the toolkit. It used to be of the Democratic Party back in the day when they were Dixiecrats and now of the Republican Party. It just is powerful.”. . .

How Low Can Joe Biden's Polls Go Before Democrats Tap the Brakes?

PJ Media   "As Democrats contemplate the potential for a stinging loss in the Virginia gubernatorial election, the party appears to remain utterly tone-deaf to the feedback it gets through public polling as they rush to pass President Joe Biden’s spending bills. New polling from NBC, ABC, and Rasmussen demonstrate just how badly Democrats misinterpreted their mandate in 2020.

"Earlier this month, a summary of Rasmussen polls on Biden’s approval and related issues indicated that Americans are not pleased with the current state of affairs. On Friday, the pollster released another survey of likely voters that showed that 57% think the economy is worse under Biden. A plurality of 38% believes Biden deserves the blame, while 22% place it on congressional Democrats. While 31% think congressional Republicans are to blame, the majority see this as a Democrat problem when that party controls a unified government.

"Polls released on Sunday underscore the data provided by Rasmussen over the last month. ABC/Ipsos polled Americans over 18 on the issues and the reconciliation bill negotiations. The poll has a 4.7% margin of error and oversampled Democrats by 7%. Biden gets his highest marks on the pandemic, with 56% of Americans approving of the response. However, that represents a 13-point decline from polling shortly after Inauguration Day. It dropped seven points after he announced the mandate in September.

"Americans give Biden his lowest marks for handling the southern border, gun violence, and the Afghanistan withdrawal, with Biden earning 31%, 39%, and 34%, respectively. He is underwater on the economic recovery, crime, climate change, and taxes. The only issue rated over 50% approval other than the pandemic response is rebuilding the infrastructure at 52%, a 10-point decline from August." . . .

Supreme Court won’t hear Catholic hospital challenge to transgender surgery

Washington Times  "The Supreme Court announced Monday it would not hear a challenge over a Catholic hospital declining to provide transgender surgery, leaving in place the lower court’s ruling in favor of the transgender man.

"A transgender man, Evan Minton, sued Dignity Health after the hospital declined to perform his hysterectomy.

"He received the surgery three days later at a non-religious hospital but filed a lawsuit in California claiming he was discriminated against.

"The lower courts ruled in his favor and against the hospital, which asked the justices to review the case.". . .

"Specifically, Dignity Health argued that religious health care institutions should be protected by the First Amendment and not forced to perform surgeries that conflict with its ethics.

"The majority of the justices declined to get involved.

"Justices Neil M. Gorsuch, Clarence Thomas and Samuel A. Alito Jr. would have taken up the case for review." . . .

Might Judge Kavanaugh be performing some sort of penance for the feminists?

This case should be similar to the Burwell v Hobby Lobby case, where it was ruled by the Supreme Court that a private business with religious beliefs cannot be forced to act against those beliefs by the government. The question for this lawsuit will be whether a private hospital with religious beliefs can refuse to perform procedures that would go against those beliefs. The Blaze

Stupid Things Stupid Liberals Did This Week

Stupid Things Stupid Liberals Did This Week  "It’s not surprising that Democrats are ratcheting up their dumb-dumb level to 11. They tend to do that when there are big elections on the line, so get yourself a large order of fries because here come some whoppers.

"Former Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe is fighting for his second gig as Virginia’s governor. A recent Fox News poll shows he is trailing his opponent, the GOP’s Glenn Youngkin, by eight points amongst likely voters. Things are looking bleak, so naturally, the commie gloves are off.

"Stupid Move #1: Mostly-White Supremacists

"When in doubt, play the white supremacy card. In what is possibly one of the worst stunts ever, it seems as though five “white supremacists” decided to show their support for Youngkin in Virginia by standing next to his van. We assume they are white supremacists because they have their Charlottesville-ish tiki torches, even though they are in the pouring rain. They all match pretty much except one of the would-be Klansmen is black.

"Another one is rumored to be Camden Layton, financial director of Virginia’s Young Democrats.

"It turns out it was the Lincoln Project that put this hoax together because of Trump and Charlottesville…or something like that. Or is that the lame excuse the Lincoln Project is using now that they’re been busted?" . . .
That's just one of three; keep going...

Joy Reid Hypes Up Nonsense, Goes Way Over The Top In Recent Video

My Daily Freedom  "Here is Joy Reid. She is going way over the top after Republicans stood up for Kyrsten Sinema and said it was inappropriate to chase her into a bathroom with a camera. Not to mention it was literally creepy.

"Joy Reid is harping on one single day compared to a massive amount of times the left has been inappropriate.

"But hey, this is who Joy Reid is and what she does. I don’t know why she has any audience at all.

"Even Bill Maher railed against the left and their treatment of Sinema: “Real Time” host Bill Maher blasted the “outrageous” harassment Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., faced when she was followed into a restroom earlier this month by activists at Arizona State University." . . .
