Newsom Signs $50 Million to Fight Trump — After Asking for Federal Aid for Fires

 Breitbart

Broc Smith

. . ."One bill, SBX1-1, provides for “additional funding to be made available to the Department of Justice for litigation challenges of federal policy. The other, SBX1-2, provides funding for “legal services to vulnerable persons at risk of detention, deportation, [or] eviction” — in other words, to illegal aliens. Both were introduced by State Sen. Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco).

"The bills were passed earlier this week. Newsom waited until his visit in Washington was over, and until a Friday afternoon — when many people have left work and are less likely to notice the news — to sign the spending into law.

"In a signing statement attached to SBX1-2, Newsom says that none of the funding is to be used for illegal immigrants “convicted of serious of violent felonies.” However, nothing in the text of the bill says that.

"Newsom is seeking billions of dollars in federal aid to clean up and rebuild devastated communities. Breitbart News made the point during President Trump’s visit to Pacific Palisades that the administration should appoint a “Special Master,” along the lines of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, to ensure that California spends any aid properly, given that the state believed it had money available to spend on fighting Trump.

UPDATE:  ‘War Zone’: Newsom Under Fire Over Crime Surge

. . ."State Senate Minority Leader Brian Jones criticized the delay in deploying the National Guard, stating it allowed crime to flourish during the wildfire disaster. He noted that the wildfires have drawn attention to the rising crime problem in California, asserting that criminals have exploited the situation.

"Jones said, “For too long, criminals have run rampant in Newsom’s California, and now we’re seeing the devastating consequences,” adding, “From arsonists igniting fires to shameless looters preying on fire victims, this crime wave has only deepened the stress on our already overwhelmed communities.”

The radioactive Mark Milley

 Mike McDaniel

"Circa 2025, we’ve come to a place where a compromised general was pardoned by an equally compromised POTUS. Actually, Milley was pardoned by Biden’s compromised handlers."

"Poor retired General Mark Milley. In Mark Milley: pardons and mutiny and in General Milley may face consequences after all, I noted Milley appears to have violated multiple articles of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). One—mutiny—carries the death penalty. Fortunately for Milley, Joe Biden’s handlers gave him a preemptive pardon, so no Leavenworth or death. But for someone like Milley, there may be a worse fate." . . .

Mike McDaniel is a USAF veteran, classically trained musician, Japanese and European fencer, life-long athlete, firearm instructor, retired police officer and high school and college English teacher. He is a published author and blogger.

Rep. Jamie Raskin: ‘Find Me Two Republicans, I’ll Go to Work on’ Trump Impeachment

And I didn't think Democrats could get any more contemptible. TD

Legal Insurrection   "You know the Democrats will impeach President Donald Trump if they retake the House.Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), a man infected with a severe case of TDS, wants to do it:

Well...Murkowski and  Susan Collins loom in the background. Lisa Murkowski is Democrats best bet

Al Green Gets Mic Dropped by Irate Caller Over New Impeachment Threat During C-SPAN Visit   . . ."Thursday morning, Green appeared on C-SPAN's "Washington Journal" program to make his case - and then got schooled by a Savannah, GA, Republican caller named Richard right off the bat:

"Thank you. I watched you yesterday with the Democrat Party, Al, protesting everything that Elon Musk is trying to do for the American people. The USAID is 100 percent a money laundering scheme around the world, kickbacks back to the Democrat Party, whether it's to the Clinton Foundation in Haiti - $4.4 billion and $84 million went to her daughter, Chelsea Clinton.

All y'all have is impeachment, and race, and gender, etc.  And you actually do nothing for the people of America today. I think the Democrats should sit back and let America see what it‘s like to reduce the people in government, the wasteful spending. All y‘all can do is just complain and be negative. We are sick of it."

‘60 Minutes’ boss on hot seat over Kamala Harris interview amid speculation he could get ousted if ‘Trump wants head on a stick’: sources

MSN  The turmoil at CBS News over the controversial “60 Minutes” interview with Kamala Harris has put the show’s boss on the hot seat – and insiders are speculating the network could dump him if President Trump wants a “head on a spike,” The Post has learned.

"Bill Owens – executive producer of “60 Minutes” since a sexual-misconduct scandal engulfed CBS and ousted his predecessor, Jeff Fager – has remained defiant amid fury from the rank-and-file over a possible settlement with Trump over his $10 billion lawsuit.

"The president claims CBS edited the Harris interview to make her look better ahead of the election – an accusation the network has denied.

On Monday, 58-year-old Owens told staffers that the edit was “perfectly fine” and that “the company knows I will not apologize for anything we have done,” The New York Times reported Tuesday.

Nevertheless, CBS confirmed it reluctantly sent the full interview transcript on Monday to FCC Chair Brendan Carr, who has vowed to fast-track an investigation into any wrongdoing, as The Post reported.

On Monday, Carr told The Post he will vet the transcript in light of an FCC “prohibition against news distortion on our books for 50 years” that applies to TV broadcasters. Some CBS insiders fear the outlook for the probe isn’t good."

Pete Hegseth punishes Mark Milley for arrogantly defying the president

 Susan Quinn

"His Afghanistan pullout was worse. And his allegiance to the woke agenda would have made him a target, even if he hadn’t already retired."

"If President Trump had known in 2016 how arrogant a man Mark Milley was, he might never have appointed him to the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

"Milley’s treasonous behavior, spectacular incompetence, and rebelliousness against the president justify the punishment he is being ordered.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered the Pentagon's inspector general to investigate the ‘conduct’ of retired Joint Chiefs Chairman General Mark Milley — who at times clashed with President Trump during his first term — and determine whether it's appropriate he should be reduced in rank from his current four stars.

Hegseth also revoked Milley's security detail and suspended his security clearance.

Even though Milley is retired, he had an ongoing security detail through the Army as a result of Iranian threats in the wake of the 2020 U.S. drone strike that killed Iranian [Revolutionary Guard Corps Gen. Qasem] Soleimani. Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and then-National Security Adviser John Bolton recently lost their security details on orders from Trump, who clashed with them as well.

"When Trump first appointed Milley, he seemed like a reasonable choice; however, Milley seemed to have an exaggerated understanding of the power he wielded, and when Trump “defied,” him, he was apparently insulted." . . .

NCAA: No More 'Trans Women' Competing in Women's Sports

 Hot Air

. . ."I voted for Kamala but as a female former Div 1 shot putter I could not agree more with the Trump administration here.  I was loving seeing him sign this executive order surrounded by girls and women who had real skin in the game speaking out."  "Harris voter"

"Yesterday, President Trump signed an executive order which would ban trans women from participating in women's sports at all federally funded educational institutions. You probably saw the video of Trump surrounded by women and girls as he signed the order." . . . "That EO did not have the power to change the official policies of sporting bodies like the NCAA or the IOC, however the White House made it very clear that they expected these organizations to follow their lead. And today, the NCAA has fallen in line. The new police announced today is effective immediately.

“We strongly believe that clear, consistent and uniform eligibility standards would best serve today’s student-athletes instead of a patchwork of conflicting state laws and court decisions,” Charlie Baker, the president of the N.C.A.A., said in a statement. “To that end, President Trump’s order provides a clear, national standard.”

Brooke Gossett commented:   "Thank you President Trump and to everyone who stood up to protect the rights of real women!!

"For centuries, women fought to be seen, to have a voice, to be recognized for the incredible strength, resilience, and brilliance we bring to the world. But for several years now, there has been a movement determined to push us backward……erasing our spaces, our accomplishments, even our very definition. It’s an insult to every woman who came before us and a direct attack on the generations to come.

"But women are not invisible. We are not a feeling. We are not an afterthought. "Thank you for refusing to back down. Thank you for speaking the truth. Thank you for making sure real women are seen, heard, and protected. "Real women are strong. "Real women matter. "And today, real women have been heard!!"

California Democrats Move Toward Secession

Mike Robertson

" . . .The California government is in a rush to maintain the status quo, even to the point of encouraging secession initiatives like Calexit. Apparently, West Coast progressives are just that keen on keeping their crime, inflation, and dysfunction."

"Days after the American nation secured a landslide victory for Donald J. Trump as the 47th U.S. President, some Democrat-led states voiced their plans to oppose any order of the new Oval Office. The governors of California, Colorado, and Illinois expressed their commitment to progressive ideas implemented by the Biden-Harris administration.

"The Golden State considered mere disobedience not enough. In January 2025, California state secretary Shirley Weber allowed the Calexit initiative to be put on the November 2028 ballot. For some reason, left-wing activists backing the secession movement falsely believe that withdrawing from the Union would create a prosperous independent nation, free from what they might call “conservative dictatorship” of the Republican-led U.S.

"A quick overview of California in early 2025 reveals challenges facing the state. Residents grapple with economic issues, illegal migration, a surge in crime rates, a high cost of living, and an affordable housing crisis. The political climate is also tense, as the shift of power has become a rare occasion.

"The Golden State has been a Democrat stronghold for years. Surprisingly, the party fighting for diversity and representation has had a majority in the California State Assembly continuously since 1996, and occupied the governor’s office since 2011. In total, Democrats have been dominating the Golden State for almost 14 years at the gubernatorial level and 29 years at the legislature.

"Just like the Biden-Harris administration failed to deliver on the federal level, 14 years of Democrat governors failed Californians." . . .

More at the Tunnel Wall  Including the State of the State of Jefferson: How the Secessionist Movement Started and Where it Stands Today:

"Jeffersonians may have come to the realization, however, that forming a new state is simply too cumbersome. Baird says that he now endorses the “Greater Idaho Movement,” in which California's northern counties and some rural Oregon counties, rather than creating a whole new state, would secede from California and merge with Idaho. Baird told the Willamette Week newspaper that joining Idaho appears to be “the shortest route” to breaking off from California."

Those we rely on to govern this nation

Politicians are getting older – shutting young people out of decision-making around the world

A big barrier for young candidates is their lack of experience. But, with selection processes that favour incumbency, there is, all too often, little space for parliamentary turnover. Moreover, many assemblies around the world have a culture of seniority in which youth struggle to be noticed.

Do you think Chuck Schumer is incompetent?

On the flip side of the coin you have Chuck Schumer. It seems he constantly misreads the room, can’t persuade or arm twist, and generally makes democrats look bad in the senate. There are very effective leaders in the senate such as Mitch McConnell. There have been masters of the senate such as LBJ. Chuck Schumer just doesn’t seem to be even close. Quite honestly he is the weakest link in the Democratic chain right now IMO. Do you think he is incompetent?

Press room: the times they are changing

“As I said in my opening statement, Matt, it is a priority of this White House to honor the First Amendment,” Leavitt told Boyle in response to his question asking her to expand upon the White House’s effort to bring in more voices. “And it is a fact that Americans are consuming their news media from various different platforms, especially young people. And as the youngest press secretary in history, thanks to President Trump, I take great pride in opening up this room to new media voices to share the President’s message with as many Americans as possible.”

John Ashbrook of the Ruthless Podcast was in the new media seat on Friday and received the first question of the briefing.

She just CAUGHT the Democrats.
"Every single Democrat that was on that stage should be placed on a list for the next round of auditing! They are the ones who are authorizing all that money to be sent to their friends and family members, lining their own pockets and screwing all of us!!" . . .

Having been given the dog whistle call to arms, Jeffries' colleagues promptly called for a violent uprising. And they did so repeatedly.

Congress’ most woke race warrior, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), warned Republicans that they "are gonna be in yo face and "on your a**es!"

. . ."Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) gave a wink and a nod to arsonists, warning Republicans that "if you do not see the light, we will bring the fire.”

"We all know what far-left activists in the streets are capable of with fire." . . .

Schumer clenches his little fists with Mad Maxine Waters and they chant!

 Jack Hellner

Trump also took away security clearance from 51 people who lied to interfere in the 2020 election and infected the U.S. with a president who screwed up for four straight years, with the help of compliant media and other Democrats who worked so hard to hide the truth about how incompetent Biden was and that he obviously was being controlled.

‘Just So Depressing’: Ex-House Democrat Shreds His Party’s Leadership Over Viral Chuck Schumer Clip - NewsBreak  "How pathetic! What are democrats afraid of ? That Musk will find a lot of hands in the cookie jar?"

"From Yahoo News:

Weighing in on the Trump administration’s actions of the past week, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said he didn’t know President Trump would “screw up so soon.”

The comment, published Monday by Semafor, followed an issued-then-rescinded Office of Management and Budget (OMB) memo that called for a federal loan and grant pause, which caused a political uproar, and the weekend announcement of weighty tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China, which also resulted in mass frustration.

“There’s a long way to go. This is going to be a pattern,” he added.

"On Monday, the U.S. manufacturing index showed that manufacturing is growing for the first time in sixteen months.  I would say that is not screwing up.

"Crude oil is down around 10% since the week before Trump took office.  That sounds like a win.  Lowering energy prices, cutting regulations, and closing borders along with cutting government spending are great ways to lower inflation.

"Schumer says it is screwing up to look at government spending to see if taxpayers’ money is being properly spent.  The fact that the media, Schumer, and other Democrats call that screwing up is why we are $36 trillion in debt and why we had a $2-trillion deficit last year.  That is what you get when I.G.s are not looking for waste, fraud, and abuse, which is their job.

"Border crossings are down 93% since Trump took office.  That is obviously a big win.

"And then he said the tariffs are causing great damage.  What tariffs?  So far, tariff threats have caused Colombia, Canada, and Mexico to cave to Trump's demands.  Those are big wins, and they haven't cost consumers a dime.

"And Trump sent Ric Grenell to Venezuela, and we got prisoners back for nothing, and they will take their criminals back.  Another huge win.

"I would say highlighting the fact that Obama and Biden focused on anything but merit for air traffic controllers was also a big win for safety.

"Trump also took out a terrorist in Somalia." . . .

Brendan O’Neill discusses his new book, "After the Pogrom: 7 October, Israel and the Crisis of Civilisation".   "Hamas is a Jew-killing machine...not a liberation movement"

"Campus concern for Palestine is largely a moral fad, or the latest sub-fad in the whole "social justice" moral fad. Adolescents, especially girls, are vulnerable to social contagion. That's pretty much it. They find out what they're supposed to be for or against this week, and a few even learn to reel off a few lines about why."

More examples of how the Left can degenerate America's law and order

Soros-Backed Radio Station Gave up the Locations of ICE Agents in California

All three Democrats—there are five people on the FCC—all three Democrats said let it go, and [it has been alleged that] they short-circuited the normal process… What happened was what some members of the media have called the ‘Soros shortcut.’ They just got together and rammed it through.

"Fox News reports (emphasis added):

A group backed [by] Soros, a far-left kingmaker, purchased a stake in more than 200 Audacy radio stations across America last year. Among them was the San Francisco-based KCBS 740 AM, which has come under fire for revealing live locations of undercover ICE vehicles and agents that were conducting deportation operations in the San Jose area.

The FCC's Enforcement Bureau has already sent a formal Letter of Inquiry to the radio station as part of the FCC investigation. The Enforcement Bureau proceeding is inquiring whether the radio station—which is licensed to operate by the FCC—is violating the terms of their FCC license, which requires that they operate in the "public interest." The formal Enforcement Bureau Letter notes that the ICE agents were operating at the time in an area known for violent gang activity.

Uh-oh: Bondi Just Ordered an Investigation Into Biden’s Politicization of DOJ

She also plans to pause federal funding to sanctuary cities, which is more of the common-sense approach that makes Trump beloved among the American people and hated among the masses. Why should cities that defy the law get federal money?

. . ."The single aspect of Old Joe Biden’s misrule that makes him by far the worst president in American history was his politicization of the Justice Department and his use of it (with Merrick Garland’s willing help) to try to ensnare and destroy Trump with an array of bogus charges. Bondi is tackling that corruption head-on: Fox News reported Tuesday that among the new attorney general’s first directives are “orders to combat the weaponization of the legal system.”

She also plans to pause federal funding to sanctuary cities, which is more of the common-sense approach that makes Trump beloved among the American people and hated among the masses. Why should cities that defy the law get federal money?

Bondi plans to set up a "Weaponization Working Group," which will work to punish those who administered "politicized justice" during the Biden administration. Fox noted that “the working group’s first reviews will include prosecutions against Trump led by former Special Counsel Jack Smith; Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg; and New York Attorney General Letitia James, who brought the civil fraud case against Trump and his family.” Oh yes. Grab some popcorn and pull up a chair. Seeing these corrupt and authoritarian apparatchiks get their comeuppance will be glorious.

As if that weren’t enough winning, “the working group will also review any potential prosecutorial abuse regarding Jan. 6, 2021; the FBI’s targeting of Catholic Americans; the Justice Department’s targeting of parents at school board meetings; and abuses of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances, or FACE, Act.”
