Trump’s new Board of Peace is necessary because the UN has failed again and again

NY Post

"By appointing himself chairman of the Peace Board, Trump has shown that he is committed to the peace plan that is in place. By inviting regional actors to join him, he has shown that for once, it will not be just Israel and America that are expected to police the Middle East."

Broc Smith

"President Trump’s remarks at Davos have caused a chorus of howls. Some of that howling is understandable. But some of it is makes as much sense as howling at the moon.

"Take the “Board of Peace” proposal. Countries like France and Britain are refusing to sign on to the president’s initiative. They complain that there are countries on the board they do not approve of. And that there is a risk that it could prove a rival organization to the United Nations.

"It is true that the idea of Vladimir Putin or the dictator of Belarus being on the board is a worrying sign.

"But if the board can be a counter to the UN? Then good.

"The Board of Peace was started in order to try to secure the situation in Gaza. And if the president succeeds in that, then he deserves every accolade. He will have solved one of the hardest conflicts in the world.

"After all, Phase 2 of Trump’s peace plan is now meant to be in process. That involves demilitarization of Gaza, new governance and reconstruction.

"Yet Hamas still has a presence in Gaza. That “presence” means the group is still killing, torturing and otherwise intimidating the citizens of Gaza. In order for peace to break out, Hamas needs to be disarmed.

"And that’s where the really big problem of the UN creeps in.

Did they do that? Like hell they did. Over the years that the UN’s “peacekeeping force” was in southern Lebanon, the Iranian proxy terror group stockpiled tens of thousands of long- and short-range missiles. And promptly started another war.  . . .

When I was there, I saw the Hezbollah bases and tunnel entrances that had literally been created under the UN troops’ own eyes. The peacekeeping force’s bases and watchtowers had Hezbollah infrastructure mere yards from them. The UN’s “peacekeepers” had clearly said and done nothing. . . .

Ketanji Brown Jackson and the GOP show the foolishness of trying to play your opponent’s game

 Andrea Widberg

"Let me say right off the bat that I like and admire Winsome Sears. She’s a good woman. However, what she ran on was being a black immigrant woman—that is, she tried to out-Democrat the Democrats, and it didn’t work."

"One of the GOP’s great weaknesses is that it always lets Democrats define the terms of the political debate and the rules of the political game. These old-line Republicans just can’t seem to understand that this is like going to a Vegas casino: The house (or, in this case, the Democrat party) always wins.

"Trump won in large part because he refused to play by any of those rules. He didn’t let Democrat shibboleths constrain his speech, and he refused to abide by “norms” that have no other purpose than to hamstring conservatives. Thankfully, many in his cabinet also understand this.

"We’ve just had two recent examples, one from the right and one from the left, of what a mistake it is to try to beat the other side at its own game. (It can be done, but you need to be spectacularly good at it.)

"The first example, which I hadn’t really thought about before, is the Virginia gubernatorial election. That election is coming into strong focus right now because the new governor, Abigail Spanberger, who ran as a boring CIA administrative sheep, is actually a rabid Marxist wolf.

"Aided by a Democrat legislative majority, she’s intent upon turning Virginia into a Minnesota-California hybrid. The Founders, so many of whom were Virginians, are rolling in their graves, while H.L. Mencken, from his perch in the great beyond, is chortling, “Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.”

"Spanberger is playing by her rules. She may ultimately lose, but in the short term, she’s going to get what she wants, which is a state run on Marxist lines with all guardrails against voter fraud removed. That’s how you play the game." . . .   More...

Blue Lives Matter Reveals Pro-ICE Decoy Operation With ‘Combat Veterans, Off-Duty Officers’

 Legal Insurrection

"I think it’s safe to say that Trump 2.0’s immigration enforcement operations have once and for all exposed the radical left’s America-Last priorities, with Minnesota being the current Ground Zero in the battle for the heart, soul, and future of America.

"The reports are fast and flowing in terms of what ICE and the border patrol have to go through on any given day as they seek to take criminal illegal immigrants off of our streets, with organized mobs and their sophisticated communication systems out in full force to impede the mission, goad the officers into viral confrontations, and to help the worst-of-the-worst evade justice – leaving the door wide open to future potential victimization of more innocent people.

"Here’s one of many examples:

"The same agents who put their lives on the line every day also face assaults and doxxing, and are eveI think it’s safe to say that Trump 2.0’s immigration enforcement operations have once and for all exposed the radical left’s America-Last priorities, with Minnesota being the current Ground Zero in the battle for the heart, soul, and future of America.

Homan Plans to Defy Spanberger After ‘Bond Villain’ Blocks ICE Cooperation in VA: ‘Not Going to Stop’  . . . "Tom Homan isn’t exactly known for rolling over, so of course he’s vowing to work around Gov. Spanberger’s order cutting off ICE cooperation. Democrats keep trying to kneecap enforcement, and Homan keeps reminding them he doesn’t need their permission to uphold federal law."

If The Republican Party Wants The MAGA Base To Show Up In 2026 They Better Show Up For The Base Right Now

AND Magazine; Substack

"The Democrats have not gone away. Their party is increasingly dominated by Marxists like Zohran Mamdani, who wish to destroy the republic. What just happened in Virginia with the inauguration of Abigail Spanberger as Governor ought to send chills up and down the spines of every right-thinking American."

"For years, the MAGA base of the Republican Party fought to push the America First Agenda and to return Donald Trump to the White House. Against all odds and in the face of weaponization of the justice system, manipulation of the electoral process, and the intense opposition of the so-called mainstream press, it succeeded. Americans voted for an end to the status quo, an end to the oligarchs, and a return of power to the people.

"And, now, with President Trump back in the Oval Office, we find that the MAGA agenda seems increasingly blocked. The GOP establishment seems determined to prevent meaningful change and continue business as usual in the Swamp.

"The average age of a first-time home buyer is now forty. Many Americans will never be able to own their own home. Washington seems unconcerned. There is no relief in sight.

"Consumer credit debt is crushing. President Trump wants an end to sky-high interest rates on consumer credit to help everyday Americans make ends meet. Republicans in Congress do nothing to make this a reality.

"Healthcare costs are out of control. President Trump wants a comprehensive overhaul of the system that will reduce costs and prevent sending our money to bloated insurance companies. Republicans in Congress vote with Democrats to pass an extension of Obama’s Affordable Care Act instead.

"We are a year into the new administration. There is no sign anywhere of action against those individuals who created the Russiagate hoax and attempted to depose Donald Trump as sitting President during his first term. No one has gone to jail. No one appears headed for jail.

"We were promised for years that the Epstein files would be opened for all to see and that we would finally learn the truth about this scandal. Despite continued promises to date, we have seen only a tiny portion of the documentation held by the federal government." . . .

‘Sparkle Beach Ken’ Is Too Kind To Gavin Newsom

 The Federalist

"The California governor correctly figures that if he stays on offense, his own dismal record will be ignored — even if that offense is odd."

Broc Smith

"Being Gavin Newsom means never having to explain yourself  — being able to hurl accusations and nonsensical claims with nary a follow-up from the press. Newsom’s foray into the World Economic Forum at Davos, Switzerland, is a case in point.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent took notice of Newsom loitering around Davos, quipping, “Governor Newsom, who strikes me as Patrick Bateman meets Sparkle Beach Ken, may be the only Californian who knows less about economics than Kamala Harris.” Bessent then noted that Newsom was, “here this week with his billionaire sugar daddy, Alex Soros.”

"But Newsom still made a splash.

" 'Trump,” he weirdly enthused, “Is a T-Rex; you mate with him or he devours you.”

"The California governor, widely expected to run for president in 2028 after he terms out of office this year, correctly figures that if he stays on offense, his own dismal record will be ignored — even if that offense is odd, off-putting, or oblique.

"And what a record it is, from manageable fires that burst into catastrophic wildfires due to bad policy (blamed on climate change, of course) to soaring homelessness to scores of billions of dollars in stolen government assistance, Newsom might have a lot to atone for — if the media-industrial complex decided to do their jobs.

Telling Whoppers

"Instead, Newsom makes claims that are rarely fact-checked, like his last whopper-filled State-of-the-State address on Jan. 8, in which the governor asserted, “We are not retreating. We are a beacon. This state is providing a different narrative. An operational model, a policy blueprint for others to follow.”

"In one sense, Newsom is right — California is the epitome of the progressive left operational model, the blueprint for others to follow — and, home to San Francisco and UC Berkeley, the one place where democratic socialism might first work.

"But as former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Margaret Thatcher noted, “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.” And the Constitution prohibits states from printing money, reserving that for the federal government.

"Unfortunately for Newsom, California is looking at an $18 billion deficit, $5 billion more than last June, “despite improvements in revenue,” according to the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst’s Office, which went on to note in its November fiscal outlook report that, “we estimate costs in other programs to be about $6 billion higher than anticipated… (with) structural deficits [growing] to about $35 billion annually due to spending growth continuing to outstrip revenue growth.” . . . More...

Gregg Jarrett Explains Why Don Lemon Could Still Face Charges UPDATED

 Daily Caller

First this: Report: Magistrate Judge Refused to Sign Off on Charges Against Don Lemon   . . . "The FACE Act [LITERALLY] says in § 248(a)(2) that a person violates the act if they:  "by force or threat of force or by physical obstruction, intentionally injures, intimidates or interferes with or attempts to injure, intimidate or interfere with any person lawfully exercising or seeking to exercise the First Amendment right of religious freedom at a place of religious worship;. . .' "

"Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett told Fox News host Sean Hannity Thursday that Attorney General Pam Bondi has multiple options to pursue charges against former CNN host Don Lemon after he allegedly stormed a church service Sunday.

"FBI agents arrested Nekima Levy Armstrong and Chauntyll Louisa Allen for their roles in storming Cities Church in St. Paul, which they allegedly targeted because a pastor at that church was an official with United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement. A magistrate denied the application for an arrest warrant against Lemon. Jarrett said Lemon’s own livestream, where he explained that Armstrong was leading a “surprise operation,” was incriminating and that Bondi could go to a “real” federal judge to get an arrest warrant. (RELATED: Don Lemon Labels Parishioners Of Church Stormed By Anti-ICE Rioters ‘Entitled White Supremacists’)

Toon added by TD

“ 'Rejecting the charges against Don Lemon smells fishy to me. We may actually learn more about the magistrate’s motivation, bias and conflict of interest,” Jarrett told Hannity. “Legally, the magistrate would have to decide that these prosecutors did not meet the standard of probable cause. But personally disagreeing with the wisdom of or fairness of bringing the case, it’s not a valid ground for overriding the charging decisions. So, Sean, I thoroughly expect the DOJ to do one of two things. Either bypass that magistrate by going to a grand jury for an indictment against Don Lemon or go to a real district court judge, because a magistrate is really just a ministerial assistant. He handles misdemeanors and warrants and empties the trash cans."

“Obviously here, prosecutors felt Don Lemon was not merely an observer, recording the illegal protest inside of the church, which would be a typical journalist role,” Jarrett said. “Instead, he seemed to be a very active participant, who embedded himself with the mob, tormenting these parishioners. In fact, Lemon’s own videotape incriminates him, as he confronts the pastor with contentious questions, the same way the agitators did. And you can see and hear Lemon defending them all and taking up their cause, arguing that they are allowed to invade the church, disrupt the service, shut down worshipers, which shows a stunning ignorance of the law by Lemon.”  . . .  More...

UPDATE:  Don Lemon Taunts the DOJ and Dares Them to Arrest Him - Harmeet Dhillon Gives Telling Response

"What Lemon does have, though, are eyes and ears. He's been paying attention to how our justice system operates over the last year, and he knows that his best defense is to make as much noise as possible. The more he taunts and puffs his chest out, the more likely he is to influence a future juror or judge. He's also just delusional enough to want the DOJ to charge him so he can monetize it. As a fired network host with a middling podcast, Lemon needs the attention. I'd suggest the DOJ give it to him."

"The magistrate judge who declined to approve charges for Lemon was Douglas Micko, sources told CBS News. Micko previously worked as a federal public defender." Victor Bigham

Jennifer Welch, Irrational, Incensed, And Dangerous, Is The Democrat Party

 The Federalist

"Democrats want retribution and are increasingly uninterested in disguising it with any form of pretense about laws or morality"

"The Democrat who people most need to be paying attention to right now isn’t in Congress and isn’t expected to run for president. It’s Jennifer Welch, the gaunt, puckered up nag who hosts a popular podcast and who now proudly displays on a regular basis just how dark and decayed the left’s collective soul has become.

It’s been fairly obvious for some time that the chief aims of the Democrat Party are to crush the independent American middle class and eliminate the nuclear family. They hate both with equal passion. But until recently, generally speaking, those goals were at least disguised with lies about “climate change” and “equity” and “our democracy.” Now it’s common for Democrats to drop all pretense and simply express their hatred outright for anyone with a different political opinion.

That’s Welch, exhibiting all the distilled irrationality and sulfuric acid contained in the average modern Democrat, but without any effort to conceal or pass it off as some intense form of empathy.

On a recent episode of her podcast with former CNN actress Jim Acosta, Welch spoke for all Democrats as to what the party wants, should it take power in Congress after this year’s midterm elections. “The blue tsunami means that Congress is going to haul Elon Musk, ‘Big Balls,’ and a bunch of other people’s ass in front and say, ‘What crimes did you commit?’ and it’s going to get really serious and the same with Trump,” she said. As a reminder, “Big Balls” is the nickname of a 20-something enlisted by Musk’s D.O.G.E. effort to shrink the federal bureaucracy, and his offenses to-date include asking government employees to describe their day-to-day work life and also interfering in the attempted assault of a female pedestrian being jumped by thugs, resulting in his own hospitalization."     More...

California under Newsom; What would he do with the United States?

Newsom’s Record . . . "Since taking office as governor, Newsom has proposed nearly $2 trillion of spending and signed more than 4000 bills into law. What has been the impact? Schools are still performing poorly, Newsom allowed government employee unions to keep schools closed longer than any other state and raided reserves to cover up spending that grew 50 percent faster than revenues, housing is less affordable, and CA’s unemployment rate is 29 percent higher than the US unemployment rate vs. 8 percent higher when he took office." . . .

40,000 people died on California roads. State leaders looked away  . . . "Gov. Gavin Newsom declined an interview request. Last year, he vetoed a bill that would have required technology that alerts drivers when they’re speeding.

"The state DMV, which is under his authority, has wide latitude to take dangerous drivers off the road. But it routinely allows drivers with extreme histories of dangerous driving to continue to operate on our roadways, where many go on to kill.

"Steve Gordon, whom Newsom chose to run the agency in 2019, won’t talk about it. He has declined or ignored CalMatters requests for an interview.

The agency simply released a statement from him in March, after our first interview request, touting modernization efforts that reflect an “ongoing commitment to enhancing accountability and transparency while continually refining our processes to ensure California’s roads are safer for everyone.”

"Neither Newsom nor Gordon has announced any major changes since then.". . .

Breaking Up California: A History of Many Attempts - California State Library. . . "There have been more attempts to divide California than anniversaries of its statehood in 1850. Some of the at least 220 attempts to break up California are chronicled here with a timeline, historic maps and documents, books and articles on the topic as well as videos on more recent efforts. There’s also a brief history of Spain and Mexico’s struggles to divide the vastness of the territory that would become California into manageable parts.

"Under Article IV, Section III of the United States Constitution, “no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.” The last state to successfully go through this process was West Virginia in 1863, which broke off from Virginia." . . .   Most recent here:

Relive The Civil Rights Era. Send In The Troops.

 Ann Coulter

"If Trump wants to be remembered by history as one of our greatest presidents, he should follow Eisenhower and JFK’s lead: Bring the troops home and send them to every sanctuary state in the union."

Conservative Political Cartoons

"In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day this week, every liberal made the totally original point that anti-ICE protesters in Minneapolis are walking in King’s footsteps! King protested — and they’re protesting. See? Same thing.
"In any liberal morality play, Democrats always get to be the shivering, oppressed black people, while Republicans have to play the part Bull Connor, Birmingham, Ala.’s racist commissioner of public safety.
"Except the facts are exactly the opposite. I’m sure you’re bored of hearing this, but Connor was a Democrat, as were all the politicians promising “massive resistance” to racial integration. Republicans were the ones forcing Democrats to abide by federal law, along with a few John Fetterman-style Democrats.
"But the biggest fraud the media are trying to push on America is their total erasure of the most heroic actions ever taken by U.S. presidents: Invoking the Insurrection Act and sending troops to the states to enforce federal law against recalcitrant Democratic governors and individual citizens.
"Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, then John F. Kennedy, deployed the military to compel Democrats to stop violating federal law — as set forth in the Supreme Court decision, Brown v. Board of Education. In that case, the court found — for the first time — that the education of black and white children in “separate but equal” public schools violated the 14th Amendment of the Constitution.
"You want an “insurrection”? The constitutional rights of nine black people in Arkansas were being violated! More precisely, the rights of all 400,000 black Arkansans were being violated.
"Today, the rights of all 340 million Americans to live in a law-based constitutional republic are being violated, and at least 77 million are ticked off about it.
"Eisenhower didn’t wait for federal agents to be hospitalized, hit with shovels, injured with projectiles, their vehicles vandalized, and streets blocked for weeks on end to send in federal troops. State officials and private citizens were acting as if federal law didn’t apply to them. That was enough" . . .   https://anncoulter.com/2026/01/22/relive-the-civil-rights-era-send-in-the-troops/

Gavin Newsom The KneePad Salesmen Finds A New Audience At Davos)

Check Out Gavin Newsom’s Face As Interviewer Rattles Off Insult After Insult - AOL

"Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom appeared uncomfortable on Wednesday while Semafor’s Ben Smith read through several insults against him." . . .

Broc Smith

"At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Smith read through several insults from President Donald Trump’s administration, including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who referred to Newsom as “Patrick Bateman meets Sparkle Beach Ken.” Newsom called the constant online insults “very unbecoming,” but said that his office needed to call out Trump’s so-called “absurdity.”
" 'The Treasury Secretary described you as Patrick Bateman meets Sparkle Beach Ken,” Smith said. “The White House Communications Director called you Gavin Newscum and an official White House account, a federal government account, described you as a very online sexual slur that people here probably don’t want to hear at 8:30 in the morning … Is that kind of discourse from you, from them good for America?”
" 'No, it’s deeply unbecoming. Come on, of course it is. It’s not what we should be doing,” Newsom said. “But you’ve got to point out the absurdity, you’ve got to put a mirror up to this. This is madness.”
"Bessent made the retort against Newsom on Wednesday after the California governor brought knee pads to the event so world leaders could bend the knee to Trump more easily. He accused Newsom of being economically illiterate and self-absorbed.
" 'Governor Newsom, who strikes me as Patrick Bateman meets Sparkle Beach Ken, may be the only Californian who knows less about economics than Kamala Harris,” Bessent said. “He’s here this week with his billionaire sugar daddy, Alex Soros, and Davos is a perfect place for a man who, when everyone else is on lockdown, when he was having people arrested for going to church.”
"White House Director of Communications Steven Cheung compared Newsom to a “petulant child who can’t control his emotions.” . . .

The "Warmth of collectivism"

Zohran Mamdani pushes NYC tax hike on the rich -- in blow to fellow Democrat Kathy Hochul's budget plan | New York Post

"It’s not enough for Mam.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani brushed off Gov. Kathy Hochul’s state budget proposal that came with a pledge not to hike income taxes — saying Wednesday he’s going to push for an increase anyway.

It’s the latest move by Mamdani to pull Hochul to the left to align with him and his liberal supporters’ goal of soaking wealthy New Yorkers to raise billions to pay for a freebie-filled agenda that includes free bus fares." . . .

Individual Liberty In The Crucible Of History: 5. The Road to Collectivism

. . . "The destitute succumbed easily to the explanation that they were victims of oppression. Some men may be honestly convinced that they know what is best for all of us; at any rate, collectivism offered a mode for reformers and planners men caught in the grip of a compelling yision to use government to embody their ideas in law and practice. By these and other paths did Americans gather upon the road to collectivism.

"Historically, however, the shift to collectivism was made in the following manner. Men organized themselves in interest groups for the pursuit of common goals. They included such groupings as farmer alliances, labor unions, business associations, and professional organizations. These organizations frequently sought privileged status at law, and to bring the force of government to bear upon Americans to make them accede to their demands. When they succeeded, they contested with one another for superior position, and preyed upon both unorganized individuals and other groups as well. This neofeudal system (strangely enough, many “liberals” called it progress where labor unions were concerned) created a situation rife for the United States government to step in and “adjust” these demands in the public interest. This last is the face that collectivism presents in our day." . . .

'Squad' Dems join GOP to advance contempt resolutions against Clintons in Epstein probe

Rich Terrell

'Squad' Dems join GOP to advance contempt resolutions against Clintons in Epstein probe     . . . "The House Oversight Committee voted to refer former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for chamber-wide votes on criminal contempt of Congress charges with the help of multiple Democrats, including two members of the far-left Squad, for defying subpoenas related to the panel's Jeffrey Epstein probe." . . .
"The Democrats who voted to advance Bill Clinton's resolution were: Reps. Maxwell Frost, D-Fla., Raja Krishnamoorthi, D-Ill., Summer Lee, D-Pa., Stephen Lynch, D-Mass. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., Emily Randall, D-Wash., Lateefah Simon, D-Calif., Melanie Stansbury, D-N.M., and Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich." . . .

Jonathan Turley: January 22, 2026: Democrats Join Republicans in Voting the Clintons in Contempt of Congress  . . . "Yesterday, a curious thing happened in a House Committee. Bill and Hillary Clinton were actually held accountable for flouting the law — at least as a preliminary matter. In the House Oversight Committee, Democrats joined Republicans in approving contempt resolutions against the two political figures after they refused to appear to answer questions about their connections to Jeffrey Epstein.

" The House panel voted 34-8 to advance the resolution on Bill Clinton to a floor vote. It voted 28-15 to advance a resolution on Hillary Clinton.

"As previously discussed, the Clintons adopted a position that was devoid of any cognizable legal defense. It was simple hubris, telling Congress that they did not want to appear to be saying that congressional subpoenas are discretionary for them.

"From the Whitewater case to the Lewinsky matter to the email scandal, the Clintons have always escaped accountability for their actions. Courts can find perjury and prosecutors can find classified material without a criminal charge. Evidence can suddenly surface after investigations, or thousands of emails can be destroyed without any repercussions.

"After that history, it is little surprise that the Clintons would believe that they, unlike other Americans, can choose whether to comply with a subpoena. After standing in flagrant contempt, the Clintons only reaffirmed the sense of entitlement by offering to allow an interview in New York without a transcript. There would be no “what the meaning of ‘is’ is” moments." . . .
