All Players Stood For National Anthem During Thursday Night's Football Game

"During Thursday night’s NFL game between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears, every player, staff, and coach stood with linked arms for the national anthem.

"Some fans also followed suit, locking arms with each other, while others put their hands over their hearts. When the Star-Spangled Banner was over, everyone celebrated the show of unity with loud cheers and applause.

"On Tuesday night, quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the entire Green Bay Packers team released a statement, asking fans to stand and lock arms with each other during the national anthem before Thursday night’s game. The players said the team coaches and staff were going to join them as well." . . .

This Bills Player Did Something More Disrespectful than Kneel During the Anthem  . . . "Asked about his stretches after the game, the running back explained that he cares about the flag, but not our "jerk" of a president." . . .

In His Own Words: Colin Kaepernick’s Anthem Protest Was Against The Flag And The Country  . . . "He refused to stand because he did not want to “show pride in a flag for a country.” That’s what he said. Why that country and flag do not deserve Kaepernick’s pride is not irrelevant, but it also can’t inoculate the fact that the action – the choice- to not stand was clearly meant to send a signal of disrespect for the symbol and the country it symbolizes.

"This is an important historic point because in the wake of President Donald Trump’s Alabama speech last week expressing his wish that NFL owners would fire those “sons of bitches” who do not stand during the national anthem, one of the frequent defenses we’ve heard in the media is that the protests were not against the flag or the country, but merely against police brutality." . . .

‘Women’s studies’ is betraying women under Sharia law

The association doesn't condemn, for example, the atrocities being practiced by Hamas, ISIS, Boko Haram and the Taliban against Muslim women, children and dissidents and against Christian, Yazidi and Kurdish women whom ISIS has captured as sex slaves.

Phyllis Chesler (From Dec, 2015)   Last week, the National Women's Studies Association membership voted to boycott Israel. The resolution reads, in part:
"As feminist scholars, activists, teachers, and public intellectuals . . . we cannot overlook injustice and violence, including sexual and gender-based violence, perpetrated against Palestinians and other Arabs in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, within Israel and in the Golan Heights, as well as the colonial displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians during the 1948 Nakba."
"This vote is an utter betrayal of both reality and of women — especially women who live under Sharia law.

"In 1970, I taught one of the first Women's Studies courses in the country. What I had envisioned for the discipline has nothing to do with today's anti-American, anti-Israel, post-colonial, faux-scholarly feminist academy.

"Today, Women's Studies has been Stalinized and feminist professors are less concerned with the "occupation" of women's bodies world-wide than they are with the alleged occupation of a country that has never existed: "Palestine.' " . . .

Phyllis Chesler is emerita professor of psychology and the author of 16 books including "Living History: On the Front Line for Israel and the Jews, 2003-2015."

This video fails to show the decent behavior of the majority of Muslim men in the west. This does, however show what these feminist groups choose to ignore for reasons I cannot fathom. TD

Colin Kaepernick donated $25K to organization named after cop killer

Rick Moran   "The next time that Colin Kaepernick says he's not anti-police, someone should ask him about a $25,000 donation his foundation made to a charitable organization named after a notorious cop killer who escaped from prison and now lives in Cuba.

"The organization, Chicago-based Assata's Daughter's, is named after Assata Shakur* (pictured right), a member of the Black Panthers, was stopped by a New Jersey state trooper in 1973, during which a gunfight ensued and the trooper,  Werner Foerster, was killed. She was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.
"But in 1979, members of the Black Liberation Army busted her out of jail and she was welcomed with open arms by Castro's Cuba. She has been atop the FBI's Most Wanted list ever since." . . .
*Assata Shakur  . . ."In 1972, Shakur was the subject of a nationwide manhunt after the FBI alleged that she was the "revolutionary mother hen" of a Black Liberation Army cell that had conducted a "series of cold-blooded murders of New York City police officers".[34] The FBI said these included the "execution style murders" of New York Police Officers Joseph Piagentini and Waverly Jones on May 21, 1971, and NYPD officers Gregory Foster and Rocco Laurie on January 28, 1972." . . .

From ultra-Liberal Democracy Now!  Hands Off Assata Shakur: Angela Davis Calls for Radical Activism to Protect Activist Exiled in Cuba  Obama went to Cuba and did not bring up the extradition of this cop-killer.

Also from the above source:  Dr. Harry Edwards: Nominate Football Player Colin Kaepernick for the Nobel Peace Prize. I repeat:, the man said:  "Nominate Football Player Colin Kaepernick for the Nobel Peace Prize".
Well Obama got it for, well..what was it he got the medal for?

Mike Lester Made A Clever Cartoon Describing The Issue With Anthem Protests

Conservative Fighters   "The national anthem protests rose numerous reactions, among which the audience can witness hypocrisy of the NFL and its supporters among mainstream media regarding this issue.
"The executive director of the NFL Players Association, DeMaurice Smith, this weekend obviously made dumb remarks, made this remarkably clear:
“ 'No man or woman should ever have to choose a job that forces them to surrender their rights,” he stated Saturday, just one day after President Trump made the vulgar statement that the team owners should fire all the players who disrespect the national anthem and protest.
“ 'We understand that our job as a union is not to win a popularity contest and it comes with a duty to protect the rights of our members,” Smith continued. “For that, we make no apologies and never will.' ” . . .

Blacks, Crime, and the Bended Knee

Shari Goodman

. . . "Whites comprise about 75 percent of America's population and they have had just about enough of the offensive accusations, protests, and moral outrage directed at them. Yes, blacks were brought here centuries ago as slaves, but America did not originate slavery nor do we still practice slavery, as do parts of Africa and Muslim nations today. In fact, America fought a civil war to end slavery. It's been over 150 years since the Emancipation Proclamation, thus, the fate of today's blacks rests not upon yesterday's slaveholders, but upon today's failed black leadership who have intentionally kept America's blacks on an imaginary plantation through the indoctrination of victimhood. By instilling the notion that blacks today are the victims of white racism and "white privilege", black leadership (Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, and Maxine Waters, to name a few) have created not only an entitlement mentality, but a dependency and helplessness prevalent among young blacks in inner cities throughout the country.
. . .
"It is not you who needs protection from us. It is we who need protection from you. Black problems are self-created, and history has proven that no amount of money thrown at them will solve the problem. Scapegoating is getting tiresome and dangerous. Do not lecture us about social injustice and the debt owed to you. The only thing we owe you and what is owed to any of us is equal opportunity. We have more than given that to you. It is high time for the black community to look inwards, and when it does it will discover the problem is not a lack of opportunities, but a lack of values.  Education, self-reliance, delayed gratification, responsibility, hard work, ambition, and an intact family are values incorporated and ingrained within those who lead productive decent lives. It is lacking within a large segment of the black community. Shame on those who display ingratitude and dishonor America, a country that has given black athletes the opportunity to make millions playing a sport that young men in Africa can only dream about, a country that has given blacks liberty and opportunity. Shame on you and those who kneel with you."

Judge rules that Black Lives Matter can't be sued   . . . "The sentiments against police officers expressed by the shooter are similar to those expressed by several Black Lives Matter leaders.
"I don't think the judge read Mckesson's words.  Surely, an individual can be held responsible for his rhetoric, if not the "social movement" he purports to lead.  Mckesson not only was invited to the Obama White House, but also lectured at Yale University.  Whether this patina of respectability played a role in the judge's decision is unknown.  But until Black Lives Matter is held responsible for their rhetoric, just like anyone else, the violence will continue." Communist West Point Graduate Called Mattis An ‘Evil, Vile F***’

Daily Caller   How did this guy get accepted into West Point and stay there?

. . . "Communist West Point graduate 2nd. Lt. Spenser Rapone called Secretary of Defense James Mattis the most “evil, vile f***” in the entire Trump administration.
. . .
"But one of the tweets which has so far escaped attention is Rapone denigrating Mattis in the most vulgar of terms.
"In a tweet dated June 8, 2017, Rapone tweeted at a podcaster, stating: “Was so pumped for you to go in on Mattis on the latest ep. Definitely the most vile, evil fuck in the current administration.”
"Not only that, but Rapone also attacked Vice President Mike Pence in a tweet from August: “Holy s*** what world do these people live in? “Mediocre and conservative?” Pence is a fucking medieval, cold-blooded killer.' ” . . .

The Idiot’s Guide to Censorship

Mike Adams

The Idiot’s Guide to Censorship

"Some college students know nothing about the First Amendment. I mean that literally. For example, a student recently complained to me that the police had violated his First Amendment rights by pulling him over without a warrant. First Amendment, Fourth Amendment, whatever! As annoying as the complete constitutional illiterate can be, I am perhaps more annoyed by those who have some familiarity with the First Amendment and therefore conclude that they are constitutional scholars.

"These semi-literate clowns email me pretty often. Just last week, one of them wrote to complain that I had blocked him on Twitter. According to this budding constitutional scholar, this was somehow inconsistent with my support for free speech in general and my opposition to safe spaces in particular. Those of you who had civics in high school are instantly able to spot the flaw in his reasoning. But since so many of my millennial readers are not likely to have benefited from a basic civics class, I’ll spend this column slowly explaining this common error. Here goes.

"I regularly attack public universities for creating “safe zones” or “safe spaces” because they so often violate the First Amendment. For example, my university, UNC-Wilmington, established an LGBTQIA Office on our public university campus in 2010.

"As soon as it was established, the director started to host religious programing, which asserted that the Bible endorsed homosexuality. Worse, she condemned dissenters as homophobic bigots. Some local pastors were also bothered by the fact that she had characterized many of their churches as unwelcoming to gays.

"Several pastors offered to come to the office to express a contrary point of view. But they were flatly prohibited from doing so. " . . .

Librarian Tosses Dr. Seuss' 'Racist' Books Melania Trump donates books for National Read a Book Day.

"Village idiot loses her mind in response."

I see Mrs. Obama as being hyper-sensitive about racism after her complaint over being asked to help a lady in the grocery store. So if she doesn't see racism in this book, well....
I'm convinced that this librarian was looking for anything to justify a put-down to the First Family for her personal aggrandizement and praise from the academic community.
She speaks of how many books her library has, so I suggest she contribute some of them to those needy schools she names.  The Tunnel Dweller

Culture Beat

"No good deed goes unpunished … or in the case of First Lady Melania Trump, disrespected and rejected. Tuesday was National Read a Book Day, and in that spirit Mrs. Trump chose and gifted books to 50 schools, one from each state. Included with the books was a note from Mrs. Trump highlighting Dr. Seuss’ “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” and noting, as the White House releaseindicates, that it’s “one of her personal favorites that she and her son have read together over and over.”
"Millions of Americans have fond memories of reading Dr. Seuss books as children or to their children. In fact, Barack Obama himself was quite fond of the books and praised them before a group of students in 2015, saying, “Pretty much all the stuff you need to know is in Dr. Seuss.”
"But a librarian from Cambridgeport Elementary School in Massachusetts doesn’t share Obama’s or Mrs. Trump’s appreciation for the good doctor’s literary talents. No, it seems that Dr. Seuss was, what else, a racist. Upon receiving the books from Mrs. Trump, school librarian Liz Phipps Soeiro penned a rejection letter in which she claimed that Dr. Seuss’ stories and illustrations were “steeped in racist propaganda, caricatures and harmful stereotypes.” She concluded her letter with the following backhanded compliment:" . . .

This librarian is overflowing with self-righteousness, as pretty much most liberals are. Good grief; in my liberal days when Jim Crow was being fought, was I just like that? The Tunnel Dweller.

Virtue-signaling self-absorbed librarian rejects outstretched hand of first lady Melania Trump   . . . "Her close just drips with condescension, in a final display of virtue, assigning a reading list and a recommendation that she get professional help, because, you see, the indoctrination hasn’t worked out well yet." . . .
. . . I nominate this blog post for the Virtue Signaling Hall of Fame, a website that someone should create."

Save The Children by Tony Branco  "This week, an elementary school librarian called Dr. Seuss books “racist propaganda” leaving parents thinking that maybe it’s time to homeschool."

Saints QB Drew Brees says team will kneel, then 'stand together during the anthem' before Sunday's game. Other commentaries as well...

Update: We should have given up on the NFL over that Beyonce' half-time show, wouldn't you think?  The Tunnel Dweller

UK Daily Mail

Saints quarterback Drew Brees stood for Sunday's national anthem in Charlotte while 10 teammates decided to remain on the bench in protest of police brutality against minorities

"New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees says the team will kneel and then stand for the national anthem before their game against Miami in London.

"Brees says in a tweet on Friday, 'As a way to show respect to all, our #Saints team will kneel in solidarity prior to the national anthem & stand together during the anthem.'

"That's also how the Dallas Cowboys dealt with their anthem protest on Monday night in a game against the Arizona Cardinals.

"Ten Saints players sat on the bench during the anthem last Sunday on a day of unprecedented protests among NFL players and some owners in response to comments by President Donald Trump that players should be fired if anyone 'disrespects our flag.'  . . .  Read more here.

Political Cartoons by Glenn McCoy

Surprise! NFL game ticket sales down whopping 17.9%   . . . "The cascade of boos from fans in the stadium who react to players kneeling during the anthem and the threats of a fan boycott are not having much of an effect. But fewer fannies in the seats - a lot fewer - should get their attention. " . . .

Cartoon by Ben Garrison:  . . . " The lefties that run Hollywood infused our movies with tiresome, rote political correctness. The left took over education and taught kids to obey big government while dumbing them down and telling them lies about US history. Feelings became more important than reason in colleges. The left controlled the mainstream media and the news narrative. Everything was increasingly slanted toward globalism and socialism. Not content with that, the left also attacked the NFL." . . .

This is how sports teams should sing their national anthems   "In some places, they don't just stand."
. . .
Watch at least one of these videos

. . . "Some athletes love their extended family as represented by the national (family) song and are not ashamed of belting it out even if their voices are not quite of recording quality.
"A good penance for the poor taste shown recently by our NFL teams would be for them to follow suit: link arms and belt out their loyalty and their love of their extended family and for our common home.  Owners and coaches should be down on the field and join in.
"But somehow I find it difficult to imagine such a response from the NFL.  We've been taught for half a century that American history is something to be ashamed of, that the record is only one of exploitation and subjugation and so stained that it can never be cleansed.  We must carry our ancestors' guilt from generation to generation."

Alleged leaker Reality Winner said she stuffed NSA report in her pantyhose

Politico

'I wasn't trying to be a Snowden or anything,' she told FBI.

Reality Winner is pictured. | Getty Images

. . . “I saw the article and was like, I don’t understand why this isn’t a thing,” she said. “It made me very mad ... I guess I just didn’t care about myself at that point. ... Yeah, I screwed up royally."

"Winner told the agents that she knew the report implicated intelligence sources and methods. She said, though, that she thought it was likely the flood of leaks and disclosures on the topic — apparently Russian hacking focused on the U.S. election — had already exposed those techniques.

""Did you know that if that got out, that those sources and methods could be compromised?" Garrick asked.

" "If they hadn't been already, then yes," Winner said. "I figured that ... that it didn't matter anyway. Umm, honestly, uh, I just figured that whatever we were using had already been compromised, and that this report was just going to be like a — one drop in the bucket."

"She added: "Seeing that [information] that had been contested back and forth in the public domain for so long, trying to figure out, like, with everything else that keeps getting released and keeps getting leaked — why isn't this getting — why isn't this out there? Why can't this be public?"

"Winner later acknowledged she didn't know for sure that the sources used for the report were already disclosed.

"The transcript hints at possible political motivations for the leak. Winner says she objected to her workplace tuning the TV to Fox News. She also had a signed photo of CNN Anchor Anderson Cooper, although she said the signature was fake.

" . . .I guess it's just been hard at work because ... I've filed formal complaint about them having Fox News on, you know? Uh, at least, for God's sake, put Al Jazeera on, or a slideshow with people's pets. I've tried anything to get that changed."

"Despite Winner's statement to the FBI agents, prosecutors say that in a Facebook chat in March with her sister, Winner said she was on the "side" of both Snowden and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. " . . .
