"Democrats were already getting tired of Fetterman's free-thinking ways and looking to be rid of him."

 Becky Noble

"Some of Fetterman's crimes against the Democrat Party could include his being the first sitting Democrat to visit Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago, his steady support for Israel, and being one of a handful of Democrats who voted to end the most recent government shutdown.

"At least among Republicans and conservatives, the general consensus is that the Democrat Party is one hot mess. The events in Minnesota and Democrats' reaction to it really tell it all. They learned nothing from the 2024 election and still think that their messaging — not bad candidates or what the message actually is — is the problem. It seems that they have concluded that if they just drift further left, that will get them wins in 2026 and 2028. And in some cases, they are weeding out those who cannot or will not pass their purity test.

"The latest victim of the Democrat litmus test is Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA). The Working Families Party (WFP), which supported him in 2022, is now doing its best to find a candidate to run against him in a Democrat Pennsylvania Senate primary. They have even launched a new website, "PrimaryFetterman.com," to do just that. The website is being financed by the Working Families Party PAC, and they have pulled out all the stops, with volunteer recruitment links, options to request campaign donation refunds, and plenty of opposition research on Fetterman.

"Far-left Democrats were all in on Fetterman when he first ran in 2022. He supported typical leftist issues, like abortion rights, LGBTQ rights, universal healthcare, and legalization of marijuana. But maybe the tattoos and hoodies should have been a giveaway to the WFP that Fetterman may not be the kind of guy who marches in lock step with his party, and now WFP is having buyer's remorse and wants Fetterman gone. A statement on the website reads:

We supported John Fetterman in 2022. Since then, he’s sold us out. It’s time to replace him. Fetterman was the deciding vote for a Republican budget bill that will increase healthcare costs for 500,000 Pennsylvanians. He has supported more of Trump’s nominees than any Democratic Senator. He consistently skips votes and Senate work. We deserve better.

More from dance with the one who brung ya.
