"The moves by his fellow artists put enormous pressure on Sheeran, who has tried to avoid politics and taking a side in the Gaza conflict, arguing that his fans don't come to his shows to hear politics.

Ed Sheeran's tour in trouble after opening acts drop out : NPR   . . . "Ed Sheeran's tour of North and South America was plunged into chaos Tuesday when four of his supporting acts abruptly quit in solidarity with the rapper Macklemore, who was dropped for making pro-Palestinian comments onstage.

Hours after Sheeran posted on social media about Macklemore's ouster and attributed the decision to the tour's promoters, Irish acts Aaron Rowe and Beoga, the Danish band Lukas Graham, and Finneas posted on Instagram that they were leaving the tour.

Rowe and Lukas Graham would have been replacements for Macklemore on Sheeran's remaining U.S. dates, while Beoga had been performing several songs — including some the Irish folk band co-wrote — with Sheeran around the middle of each set. Finneas, who is Billie Eilish's brother and musical collaborator, was due to tour with Sheeran in South America later this year.

"Artists must not be silenced when they speak up for the oppressed," Finneas said on Instagram. "I have decided to withdraw from my upcoming tour dates with Ed Sheeran. I stand with Palestine and its people."

. . . "So which is it, net contributors who 'build' New York and other cities, or an imported underclass?

"Obviously, he hopes to conflate the immigrants of the late 19th century, who came from Southern and Eastern Europe and took no government aid, with today's third- and fourth-world welfare seekers who poured in during the Obama and Biden administrations.

"Some of his lugubrious speech is here:

Dead-eyed Commie Mamdani is trying to bankrupt America. You cannot import people into your country who drain your taxes. Normal countries do not allow immigrants to be dependent on taxpayer $$ without paying in first. This isn't cruel, it's just math. pic.twitter.com/gLleG87A7F

"In his romanticization of all migrants as one and the same, he ignored that the productive immigrants who came from Southern and Eastern Europe of the 19th and early 20th centuries had all been screened. Here's a sign of what the rules were on Ellis Island dating from 1882: . . ."

Assemblyman Warns the 'Free State of California' Is Laying Groundwork for Gas Appliance Ban

"Not long ago, California Gov. Gavin Newsom touted his state as "free" in a failed attempt to attack the Trump administration. California is anything but free, of course. Newsom has been handed multiple losses in courts over unconstitutional laws that violate Californians' right to free speech and guns, he's poised to sign more unconstitutional legislation that would unfairly punish federal ICE agents and bar them from state jobs, and Democrats in Sacramento want to limit what sort of tires you can buy for your car, which they're also imposing a mileage tax on.

"Free."

"Sure, Gavin.

"The state is also on the brink of banning all natural gas appliances in the state, in every single home. This will cost the average California homeowner tens of thousands of dollars to remove gas connections and install electric. On a grid that's notoriously unreliable anyway. Imagine not being able to cook during rolling brownouts.

"Carl DeMaio, a member of the state assembly, is sounding the alarm." . . .

LOS ANGELES, CA — Scandal struck Hollywood this week, as actress and businesswoman Sydney Sweeney attempted to gain support among liberal women by murdering multiple children.
"After facing increasing backlash from progressive women due to her overtly sexualized public image, Sweeney opted to curry their favor by engaging in one of the activities they are most passionate about, namely child murder.
'"It's a gruesome way to do it," Sweeney admitted. "But I really want them to like me, and that seems to be what they're really into. I feel bad doing it, but I need to capture every demographic I can."
"Following news of the killings, liberal women flocked to Sweeney's website to buy clothes and lingerie and started following the actress on social media.
""I didn't like that she coded sort of right-wing," leftist Clarissa Maloy said. "But when I found out she murdered some kids, I realized the two of us probably have a lot in common."
"Sweeney came under fire this week after she posed in the nude for an online advertising campaign, prompting critics to rail on the actress for supposedly objectifying women.
"'We can get behind women who murder their own kids but not behind women who show their bodies to the world," Maloy explained.
"At publishing time, liberal women had announced that they were withdrawing their support from Sweeney after reports surfaced that she had lied about killing any kids."

The Left Is Having a Meltdown Over Sydney Sweeney Again

"Oh my god, everyone, shut up. It was an ad, and she was naked in it. Given the Left’s tolerance for depravity, which has now seeped into child murder, why is everyone guffawing over Sydney Sweeney’s ad for Novig, a sports-betting app? I was going to write about this as a joke, but I decided to shelve it. Now, stupid white liberal women are whining about it, as they did with Sweeney’s jeans ad for American Eagle, so here we go again." . . .

Support AI or learn Mandarin

"Developing artificial intelligence is the 21st century’s moon race. This time, the stakes are survival itself."

Don Surber

"It comes down to whom you trust: Bernie Sanders and Steve Bannon, or Donald Trump?"

. . . "President Trump told reporters in Ireland this weekend, “We’re leading China in AI. We’re the most sophisticated country in the world, and frankly I want to keep it that way because whoever wins AI wins.”

"He also said, “The only control or ‘guardrails’ that AI needs is a STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades!”

"Followed by, “The Trump Administration has stopped AI ‘people’ from doing bad, or potentially bad, ‘things,’ like Dario (Anthropic!), who is now pretending to be a ‘perfect little angel’—and we will continue to do so! We already have tremendous CRIMINAL and REGULATORY power over these companies! There is a SICK conspiracy going on against AI and Data Centers, and the only one that is happy about it is China. WHOEVER WINS AI, WINS! We are leading China, and all others, and will continue to do so. Conspiracy Theorists, Treasonists, Traitors, and Leakers, BEWARE!”

"And he said, “AI taking over the World, destroying Humanity, and all other things bad, is a HOAX.”

"And “I am the Hoax Buster, and I’m right now breaking another hoax that AI is going to take over, consume, and destroy the World, and that Robots will be marching into our Cities, and getting rid of us all! This is even wilder than the RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA HOAX, or the Global Warming Scam.”

"Still not convinced? Obama is calling for guardrails. He’d put training wheels on a tricycle.

"Growing up in the 1960s, we were in a race against Russia to get to the moon first. I had no doubt we would because JFK told us when I was nine that we would get to the moon by the end of the decade.

"We did." . . .  More...

The Madness of the Anti-AI Crowd › American Greatness   (And women with bullhorns)

"Which brings me to my concluding thought, courtesy of Ronald Reagan. “Government’s view of the economy,” he noted in the mid-1980s, “could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.” St. Paul told us that when we were children, we had to do with childish things, but that when we grew up, we should put aside childish things. It is childish to let our enemies define our fears. China and others, abetted by our own administrative state, have been assiduous about doing so. Let us hope we have put such juvenile susceptibilities behind us."
