Silence About the Violence

Victor Davis Hanson
Biden and his enablers can’t decide whether the mayhem helps or hurts his candidacy.

"It is not just conservatives at the recent Republican National Convention who wonder why the Democratic Party and its media appendages have not without qualification decried the looting, arson, violence, and occasional killing that have swept the nation’s cities.
"Recently even left-wing CNN’s incendiary Don Lemon wondered out loud why Joe Biden and the Democratic powers have not at least tried to square the circle of deploring police overreach while at the same time going through the motions of condemning the utter lawlessness that often breaks out at dusk in Chicago, Portland, and Seattle, and now in smaller cities such as Kenosha, Wis. What Lemon praised in June, he now seems terrified about in August. But for that matter, most retired generals and media anchors who assured us in June that there were only a “small” number of violent protesters have long grown silent after the occupation of Seattle and the Alamo siege of the police precinct in Portland.
"This fight of voter backlash about crime has infected the entire Democratic elite — glued to volatile internal polls that do not lie — whether it is Nancy Pelosi’s demanding no debates, Michelle Obama’s obsessing with “Vote! Vote! And Vote!” or Hillary Clinton’s urging Biden to never “under any circumstances” concede the election that apparently she now believes he could well lose." . . .
America is both being held hostage by thugs in the street and in reaction blackmailed by the Democratic Party. The street brigades and their various enablers know that they represent a key constituency in the new socialist Democratic Party. And so they will riot and burn until Election Day in the belief, as narcissists, that they are winning converts, but also in their surety that Biden will be elected by the sheer chaos they spawn on Trump’s watch.

14 Mostly Accurate CNN Headlines From The Last 6,000 Years Of Human History

Actually, inventing parody of CNN or MSNBC is pretty redundant. They are the nightly authors of really good stuff of their own

Babylon Bee

"CNN has been there from the beginning, always running toward the important stories and absolutely never covering them up. We went through CNN's archives and dug up these 14 headlines they published while covering some of the most significant events of human history. They are truly a bastion of truth and honesty in journalism.

"Great job, CNN!"

Real information, not parody, relating to CNN headlines:
Ouch: CSPAN Caller Dunks on Brian Stelter and CNN Over Their Lies  . . . " 'You guys always talk about how many times Trump has lied. I've calculated that with your chyrons – you know, I don't know if there's any journalists left at CNN – but if I were to estimate, 300 different distortions or misinformation that we get out of CNN – and you have to watch it at the airport, which is harsh – but if you added all that up to 46 months, it comes out to be 300,000+ distortions of truth," the caller from Minnesota explained.
"In particular, the caller took issue with how CNN and other mainstream news outlets, like The Washington Post, treated Nick Sandmann, the teenager who was defamed during last year's March for Life.

" 'So my thing here is that you guys, this is how low you'll go. It's that you went out and made lies and defamed a child and then you had to settle out of court, pay this child for distorting information about this young individual. I would say that if anything is happening at CNN and anybody who buys your book, it's really just one of those things that's dividing our nation," he said. "I don't believe in dividing our nation. It hurts our great nation, so CNN really is the enemy of the truth." . . .  Then Stelter blames it on "media-bashing"!

'You're nothing but a stooge': C-SPAN callers go all in on Brian Stelter and trash CNN as 'the enemy of the truth'  . .  . "Another caller poked fun at Stelter's appearance, calling him "Humpty Dumpty" and attacking CNN's credibility as a news network.
" 'There's a couple comments, one about their chyrons that they put underneath while people are watching things, like the other day they put on 'Fiery but mostly peaceful protests,'" said the caller. "Yeah, laugh there, Humpty Dumpty, we all know you're not reliable. You're nothing but a stooge.' " . . .

It's evening again in Joe Biden's America

Simon de Hunderhutte     Complete article here.
. . . "Tonight, more men and women than ever before in our country's history will fear for their lives in what were previously safe neighborhoods -- by dawn's early light their homes and their businesses may be burned to the ground.

"Citizens of this once-great nation have no confidence in the future, because godless thugs who declare that "some lives matter" have no respect for ANY one's life.

"Under cover of darkness, these psycho-sloganists have emerged from their parents' basements -- jazzed on K-cup espressos and month-old Twinkies, armed with frozen water bottles of Poland Spring and rocky pieces of garden gnomes -- they lurch onward into someone else's neighborhood -- or are bused in by the uber-rich who've never once needed to call for an Uber.

"Under the bunker-based leadership of a man who's now no more than a cheap wax-museum figure of his former self, Joe Biden, many of the Democrat-run parts of the country are adrift in self-hatred, tribalism and cancel-culture shenanigans.

"Yes, it's evening again in Joe Biden's America -- but why would you want to continue with four more years of Donald Trump's vision of safety in the streets? What's wrong with you? Only a racist -- like Trump -- would want to do that.

"Check your privilege at the door, pal.

"(Biden Sound-alike) I'm Joe Biden and... what was it I was supposed to approve again?"

As Biden falls in the polls, the media's lies get bigger

Jack Hellner  "The more desperate the media becomes to elect the corrupt, incompetent Joe Biden, the bigger and more numerous the lies.
"We have been treated to Democrat campaign workers, posing as journalists,  and other Democrats throwing crap against the wall for five years  to elect one corrupt Democrat after another. No matter how obvious the lies become the more they repeat them.
"One of the biggest loads of excrement I have seen came out of the mouths of the Washington Post editorial board on Friday when they had the garbage headline “Global Freedom would suffer grievous harm in a second Trump Term.”  They claim this will happen because he embraces dictators and he is rejecting U.S. democracy. They know they are lying because the facts show that it was Obama/Biden who catered throughout their eight years to dictators and they know Trump's policies and actions have been much harsher towards the dictators and tyrants.  If they don’t know they are lying they clearly have had their brain removed as they are rewriting history.
His embrace of dictators and rejection of U.S. democracy can only get worse.
"As for catering to dictators around the World and global freedom:
"Obama and Biden refused to honor the U.S. commitment to provide missile shields to Poland and the Czech Republic to appease Putin. They did not care about the freedom or safety of the Eastern Europeans, only pleasing Putin. Trump gave the weapons systems because he cared about the people, not Putin.
"Obama and Biden refused to provide defensive weapons to Ukraine to appease Putin. They did not care about the freedom or safety of the people in Ukraine, only pleasing Putin. Trump gave the weapons because he cared about the people, not Putin.
"Obama pulled troops out of Iraq and allowed ISIS to build a power base to threaten the freedom of the people in the area. This allowed Iran and Syria to become more powerful. Trump took out ISIS.
"Hillary and Biden enriched themselves and their families with huge kickbacks from foreign parties including from countries run by dictators. They clearly didn’t give damn about the freedom of the people, only themselves.
"The Obama administration approved selling uranium to Russia's Vladimir Putin after the Clinton family got huge kickbacks. They clearly cared more about Putin than the freedom or safety of the people.
"Obama drew a fictional red line in Syria and then refused to enforce it to appease Putin, Iran and Assad. That allowed ISIS and Assad to maintain power. How stupid was it for Obama and Kerry to trust Putin to monitor the chemical weapons in Syria?  Obama/Biden clearly cared more about the dictators than the freedom of the people. We don’t hear much about Syria after Trump destroyed ISIS." . . .

From July, 2017: Did billionaire leftist George Soros break his promise to ANTIFA?

Like pirates of old, they get payment from looting and booty

Intellihub

"HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (INTELLIHUB) — Despite that fact that ANTIFA members were labeled “anarchist extremists” by the New Jersey Department of Homeland Security on June 12, the radical leftists continue to operate with impunity all across the United States.
"ANTIFA members usually show up to rallies and marches sporting all black attire with red accents, like masks, dew rags, bandanas, wristbands, and shoelaces, somewhat similar to those worn the skinhead movement. On days of protest it’s not out of the ordinary to spot ANTIFA members either masking up or unmasking themselves in random inconspicuous public areas.
"Billionaire leftist George Soros is the most likely candidate. We know this because back in April a California faction of ANTIFA demanded that they be paid the money which they were promised.
"On April 2, Beverley Hills Antifa tweeted: “Antifa demands George Soros pay us the money he owes. Unite comrades and fight for $15/hour. #Resist.”
Antifa demands George Soros pay us the money he owes.Unite comrades and fight for $15/hour. #Resist pic.twitter.com/FRxCnD3IYo— Beverly Hills Antifa (@BevHillsAntifa) April 3, 2017
"It appears that Beverly Hills Antifa may have been paying protesters “$15/hour” which raises the question: How much was the faction promised by Soros? Just enough to cover payroll, or far more?
"And it appears that Soros may have ponied up because the faction still remains active to this day and even recently posted a video to Twitter offering ‘6 rioting tips for newbs’ which the ANTIFA promises will help ‘take their anarchy to the next level.’ Shockingly, the faction’s spokesman even recommends “doing a little shoplifting.' ” . . .

What is antifa and who funds it?
"Antifa is an umbrella term to describe radical left-leaning militant groups that typically confront neo-Nazism and white supremacists at demonstrations."
That term is loosely applied to any and all who dare oppose Antifa anarchy and the violence they bring with it. They are the same age demographic that gave the world the Communist Revolution of 1917 and all the decades of failure and oppression inherent in the philosophy.

You Cannot Make This UP: DC Wants to Remove...the Washington Monument

Not, repeat NOT from the Babylon Bee. If Democrats gain the government's control, expect this. A vote for Biden Harris is a vote to erase America's historical displays.

Townhall

"I know we’re all talking about Joe Biden’s speech in Pittsburgh, which once again showed that his mind has devolved into applesauce, along with the leftist riots that continue to engulf the nation, but we have new political correctness news. Apparently, a DC committee convened by Mayor Muriel Bowser has recommended that the Washington Monument, among other federal memorials in the city, should be marked for removal, relocation, or contextualization. No, you cannot make this up (via WaPo):
A committee reporting to D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser recommends renaming dozens of public schools, parks and government buildings in the nation’s capital, after studying the historical namesakes’ connections to slavery and oppression.
The honorees whom the committee says should not have public works named for them include presidents Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe, Andrew Jackson, William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, Zachary Taylor and Woodrow Wilson; Revolutionary leader Benjamin Franklin; inventor Alexander Graham Bell; and national anthem writer Francis Scott Key.
“We believe strongly that all District of Columbia owned public spaces, facilities and commemorative works should only honor those individuals who exemplified those values such as equity, opportunity and diversity that DC residents hold dear,” the committee’s chairs, Bowser advisor Beverly Perry and public library director Richard Reyes-Gavilan, wrote in a letter introducing their report.

KAYLEIGH MCENANY: NOW YOU CARE ABOUT THE RIOTING

NANCY PELOSI SHREDDED AGAIN BY KAYLEIGH MCENANY

"As Donald Trump's newest press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany spends most of her time fielding "gotcha" questions, questions that have an agenda to them, usually to embarrass, to dominate, and to make the administration recant something. "Trump has had quite a few press secretaries, but this latest one is surprisingly effective. "In this video, you will learn Kayleigh McEnany's three-step formula that she uses over and over to handle (and crush) these tough, gotcha questions!"

Kyle Rittenhouse

The Next Nick Sandmann? Defamed Covington Kid's Lawyer Takes Up the Case of Kyle Rittenhouse  "On Thursday, L. Lin Wood, one of the lawyers who represented Nick Sandmann, the Covington Catholic High School student defamed by many media outlets, announced he would take up the case of Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old boy who opened fire at Kenosha rioters — apparently in self-defense — and was arrested under suspicion for first-degree intentional homicide. As in Sandmann’s case, many media outlets and political figures have demonized Rittenhouse, with some calling him a “white supremacist” despite the lack of any evidence." . . .

The Charges Against Kyle Rittenhouse  . . . "America’s Founders foresaw the need for armed young men to rise to the defense of their communities against rioters, looters, and foreign invaders. Men younger than Kyle fought in the American Revolution, put down insurrections under George Washington, and trained in militia groups in anticipation of threats. It was for these men that the 2nd Amendment was written, and it is men like Kyle whom the amendment must continue to protect.
"The frailty of the charges brought against Kyle Rittenhouse show the well from which the insurrectionist mobs draw their power: the political class, the prosecutor’s office, and the media. Rittenhouse is charged with allegations refuted by the prosecutor’s own complaint, but the Portland murderer can gun down Trump supporters in the street because prosecutors declined to press charges for his gun crimes. The privilege of immunity for city leaders and prosecutors who abdicate their duties must end. It is time for President Trump to order his Justice Department to lock up corrupt prosecutors and city leaders who knowingly put people in danger.
"Until then, we depend on citizens like Kyle Rittenhouse."
Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) described Kyle Rittenhouse as a “17 year old white supremacist domestic terrorist,” claiming he “shot and killed 2 people who had assembled to affirm the value, dignity, and worth of Black lives.” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) retweeted the accusation.
. . . "There is no evidence that Kyle Rittenhouse was a white supremacist, however.
"Triebert noted that the 17-year-old boy’s “social media profiles proclaim support for pro-police causes like the Blue Lives Matter movement and Humanize the Badge. Other posts show him taking backyard target practice, posing with guns and assembling a military-style semi-automatic rifle.”
"The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) told CBS News that it found “no indication from Rittenhouse’s social media footprint that he is connected to any extremist movements.”
"As Triebert noted, Rittenhouse gladly helped protesters and rioters after police had hit them with pepper-spray.
"While the teenager should not have gone to Kenosha looking for trouble, it seems he is neither a murderer nor a white supremacist.
"The case of Kyle Rittenhouse involves many unanswered questions, but as of now, it really does seem strikingly similar to the story of Nick Sandmann, a teenager whose reputation was destroyed because he fit a narrative many left-leaning reporters were desperate to tell."
Kyle Rittenhouse’s Attorney Busts Misinformation and Lies About the Teen’s Actions In Kenosha  . . . “ 'There was a shot that was fired as Kyle was retreating, actually, from a mob that had become enraged that he was trying to put out the fires that the arsonists had set because he was trying to protect property,” Pierce said.
“They began screaming that Kyle needed to be killed and they were going to kill him. They started relentlessly hunting him as prey as he ran down the street attempting to retreat,” Pierce continued. “As he ran out of room to retreat, shots were fired from behind him.”
“ 'He fired and disarmed the individual, hitting him in the arm,” Pierce said.
“ 'He shot and killed the other person who was attacking him,” Pierce told Carlson, “and I got to tell you, if you really think about this, Tucker, in this war zone, in this chaos that is occurring in this city in America in the middle of Wisconsin, Kyle — the only individuals that Kyle shot were the three individuals that were attacking him and putting him at risk of serious bodily harm or death.' ” . . .

At which point do we declare all this a civil war?

However, if voters sense that the tide is turning, more will speak up.  After all, we all know the Spartacus promise that, if one or two or three show moral courage, others will follow: A.W.

Rasmussen Reports noticed something very fishy about polling  . . . "Rasmussen has highlighted the fact that the left has weaponized polling.  It frames questions and weights its polls to energize Democrats and demoralize Republicans.  People like a winner, and the left-leaning polling companies know that if a candidate appears to be winning, he will automatically attract more voters.
"One of the most famous clues in a Sherlock Holmes mystery is what's commonly referred to as "the dog that didn't bark," or, as Holmes actually said, "the dog did nothing in the night-time."  Rasmussen Reports, which puts out a Daily Presidential Tracking Poll like clockwork, noticed that its competitors ceased barking (or, if you prefer, polling) after the two parties held their conventions.  According to Rasmussen, which would know, this silence was unprecedented.
"Rasmussen published a series of tweets on Monday openly snarking at its competitors for their silence.  Moreover, whoever is writing Rasmussen's tweets was not shy about identifying a reason for the other polling outfits' unusual reticence: the narrative up until the conventions was that Biden was unstoppable; it's now quite possible that he's been stopped." . . .

The dangers in declaring support for Donald Trump  . . . "What’s more, at least one national study leads one to conclude that current polls may be seriously understating Mr. Trump’s actual support and explain why our dinner companions weren’t ready to say they might be considering voting differently in November. Many analysts suspected in the wake of the 2016 election that some Trump supporters weren’t being honest with pollsters. Political scientists studying this possibility referred to them as “shy voters” because many of them weren’t willing to let pollsters know they intended to cast a politically incorrect vote for Mr. Trump."

Quite a Claim: "Most Important Video Of 2020…"

Massive Super PAC Poised To ‘Swift-Boat’ Biden In Key States

Hot Air  "Remember the 2004 presidential campaign between George W. Bush and John Kerry? That campaign produced the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth in support of President Bush. The PAC exposed John Kerry’s record as a Vietnam veteran. It was very effective, too. There is a new version of this kind of Super PAC coming on the scene now and President Trump will be the beneficiary." . . .
. . . "Politico is reporting the PAC’s first campaign ads will begin Tuesday in key states." . . .
. . . "Trump’s law and order campaign is catching on because the violence and destruction continue in cities across the country. Voters do not feel safe in their own homes as they are seeing news reports that show the angry rioters expanding outside downtown areas in some places and moving into residential areas, especially if a prominent local official lives there. The security of living in a gated community is being breached in cities like St. Louis, where destructive protesters tore down the neighborhood’s entrance gate to march to the mayor’s house. Preserve America is using ‘real’ Americans and they are telling some compelling personal stories. Two ad spots can be previewed today." . . .

The first is with Alyssa Cordova. Her husband was a police officer killed in the line of duty in Arizona. She questions what kind of leader Joe Biden is since he isn’t standing up for police. She points to a memorial monument that was defaced with anti-police graffiti, labeling the police as murderers. Alyssa points out that her husband was murdered.

"The second ad is done with John Gillis, a retired Los Angeles police lieutenant. He tells the story of losing his daughter because he was a police officer. He said she was killed execution-style. It, too, is a personal and powerful ad. Gillis questions Biden’s character by saying Biden won’t do tough things because he is too concerned about public opinion."

. . . "The emergence of Preserve America is good news for Team Trump. It’s coming at the right time.
The investment comes two months before the election as Trump continues to trail former Vice President Joe Biden in the polls, and to win Trump would have to be the first incumbent in over 70 years to come from behind after trailing following the major party conventions.
"It wouldn’t be the first time that Trump did something that others before him weren’t able to do, now would it?"

Joe Biden's America being burned down ... by Joe Biden's supporters

Charles Hurt   "Is this Joe Biden’s America? Or Donald Trump’s America?
"Certainly, America is deeply divided today. But every bit of the horrifying images and footage of burning, looting and violence we see today comes exclusively from Joe Biden’s America.
"The carnage in Joe Biden’s America is the result of Democrat mayors and governors unwilling and unable to stand up to the lawless, rioting mob that outwardly claims it is motivated by the very same fevers and political positions that motivate Mr. Biden himself.
"In fact, Mr. Biden’s vice presidential pick, Sen. Kamala Harris, worked so hard to ingratiate herself with the increasingly unruly mob that she went on record a few weeks back raising money “to help post bail” for those arrested during the riots — riots they now claim to oppose.
"At the very least, you would think that Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris might want to stand up for peaceful demonstrators who have a constitutional right to gather peacefully and to express their grievances over police behavior or anything else. After all, those truly peaceful demonstrators are among the first victims of the violent, raging mobs burning American cities today.
"It is worth noting that the chief suspect in the apparent murder of a man in Portland this weekend was out on the street (armed with a gun) despite a recent arrest on a gun charge and a warrant for his arrest on a separate gun charge. If all this bears out, then the prosecutors and politicians who allowed this mayhem to rage out of control literally have blood on their hands." . . .

Joe Biden’s Craven Exercise In Blame Shifting  "After a thug shot and killed a Trump supporter Saturday night in Portland, Democratic nominee Joe Biden suddenly got religion when it comes to leftist riots in our nation’s streets. The former vice president “challenged” President Donald Trump to “condemn violence,” then blamed Trump for “encouraging” it. Say what?
"It goes beyond hypocrisy when Biden for months sat in his basement in near-total silence as his far-left supporters rioted, looted and burned U.S. cities, and his own party egged them on.
"This same man chose as his vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris, who warned us all with a smile on her face during a television appearance that the protesting and rioting is “not gonna stop,” not even after the election.
"Funny what a bit of bad polling will do.
"For months, the 77-year-old Biden said and did nothing as Democrat-supported Antifa and Black Lives Matter followers violently protested across the country.
"Said nothing, that is, until polls showed him losing major ground among voters after the hugely successful Republican National Convention, which focused on patriotic themes and roundly condemned the national violence." . . .

Joe Biden's statement on the violence and riots is way too little, way too late
. . . "But it’s far too late for Democrats to pretend that they didn’t overtly advocate for and make excuses for this horror show. They've only changed their tune now because street violence, chaos, death, and fiery destruction are not exactly political winners — who knew?! "That doesn’t mean we should forget that right up until last week, they thought and said that it was fantastic.
  • Biden’s running mate, Kamala Harris, said back in June that “everyone beware” because the protests are “not going to let up, and they should not, and we should not.”
  • Democratic Rep. Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts said in an interview on MSNBC, “There needs to be unrest in the streets.”
  • In 2018, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi questioned why there weren’t yet “uprisings all over the country” over Trump’s policies.
  • Then, of course, the media was there with a helpful assist in attempting to distinguish the mass rioting from the “mostly peaceful” protests even as reporters stood in front of buildings and streets that had literally been turned into bonfires.
  • Last week, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, CNN correspondent Omar Jimenez was on camera with the city clearly up in flames behind him, and yet the screen graphic hilariously said that the riots were “fiery but mostly peaceful.”
  • In another segment, a producer at CNN had to check themselves after a screen graphic described the protests in Kenosha as “violent.” That word was swiftly taken out a moment later.
  • And who can forget Ali Velshi at MSNBC, standing in front of burning police building in Minneapolis, carefully noting that the protests were “not, generally speaking, unruly”?" . . .
