Scott Jennings takes on CNN; The latest conservative star inspires by pushing back twice as hard

  Don Surber

"My guess is he won’t flip because he still lives in Kentucky. And best of all, he is giving almost daily lessons on how to take on liberals and communists by doing your homework and refusing to accept the reality they present."

There will never be another Rush Limbaugh and yet conservatives search for one because we have hope and optimism. We said there would never be another Ronald Reagan but then along came Donald Trump. One of the things he did was get fake conservatives—Bill Kristol, Jonah Goldberg, George Will and the entire cast at National Review—to self-deport.
"Candace Owens was a shooting star who fell in love with numbers and tried to boost her audience by saying nutty things to appear edgy. When that didn’t work, she went nuttier. She now faces a defamation lawsuit for calling the wife of the president of France a man. Never mind that Madam Macron birthed three kids, Owens is sticking to her guns.
"What can I say about Tucker Carlson that you already don’t know? Some men have a career that craters. His Qatar-ed.
"There are others who flamed out but I am too lazy to make a list.
" Scott Jennings, 48, is a radio host who served in the Bush 43 administration. He did such a good job that Democrats hauled him in front of a congressional hearing.
" Jennings helped Mitch McConnell get re-elected in 2014—always a difficulty for the Turtle. Two years later, Jennings’ PAC, Kentuckians for Strong Leadership, helped give Republicans a super majority in that state’s legislature.
CNN signed him up in 2017 as a paid panelist. But only in the past couple of years has he made much of a mark because unlike many conservative foils on these TV panels and in newspaper columns, Jennings fights. He’s the opposite of whatever David French is these days. For example, former Obama staffer Nayyera Haq said Iran really was winning.
HAQ: The meme war and internet propaganda—which is something the Iranians have actually been known for influencing. So they had—for all of our talk on our side of people killed in the regime—they’ve been pushing through multiple channels around the world images of American army generals, military who also lost their jobs at this time. Again, this way looks like the public perception is [that] the United States [isn’t] locked and loaded working in one direction.
JENNINGS: Do you think the Iranians would rather have their entire navy back or their memes?
"He does not enter these little skirmishes lightly. He does his homework. He knows their argument before they make it." . . . More...

Now We Know What ‘Maximum Warfare, Everywhere, All the Time’ Means

 The American Spectator

You don’t condemn political violence by pretending not to know where it came from. That’s an excuse for it, not a condemnation. We’ve put up with this dodge whereby Democrats, every time their assassination-porn rhetoric results in one of their crazies doing what they’ve been weaponized to do, follow behind them with “this is a problem on both sides.”

Joe made the case for assassination, and many responded

"On Wednesday of last week, Hakeem Temu Obama Jeffries, the hand-talking cretin who serves as the Democrats’ leader in the House of Representatives, declared after the Virginia gerrymandering bill passed by a close margin (before being immediately blocked by a judge based on its manifest legal infirmities) that his party was to engage in “Maximum Warfare, Everywhere, All The Time” against President Trump, the Republican Party and its supporters.

"And then, almost as if by magic, on Saturday, we got a demonstration of Maximum Warfare, when a would-be assassin who looks a little like Hakeem Jeffries and believes all the same things Jeffries does, rushed the security cordon of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner armed with a pistol, a rifle, and a couple of knives. Cole Allen, the failed murderer, was a teacher and activist Democrat from Torrance, California; his manifesto, released on the advent of his commencement of Maximum Warfare against the Trump administration, makes him out to be a garden-variety leftist whose views track almost line for line with what’s said on CNN and MSNOW, not to mention in the pages of The Atlantic and the Huffington Post.

"Cole Allen is less extreme than Hasan Piker. And certainly less extreme than Jamie Raskin. And yet there he was, mostly naked and fully disarmed on the carpet of the Washington Hilton following his failed attempt at John Wilkes Booth/Charles Guiteau/Leon Czolgosz-style immortality, almost bizarrely still alive and primed for sure Luigi Mangione treatment by the modern Democrat Party." . . .

. . . "One can’t help but be reminded of 2017, when a Bernie Bro loser from Illinois named James Hodgkinson, who had volunteered for Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign the previous year, brought a rifle to Washington, staked out the Republican congressional baseball team’s practice sessions, and then did what he could to harvest as many of the participants as possible.

"Hodgkinson damn near killed Steve Scalise, and he shot a couple of security people, before somebody turned his lights out. Why?

"Well, maybe it was because he followed a leftist politician who traipsed all over the country demanding a “political revolution in this country.” . . .

"If Barack Obama had a son, he’d look (and act) like Cole Allen. We all know this.

"The Democrat Party is upset about what happened at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday. There is no doubt about that. But they aren’t upset about the attempt at a Trump assassination. They’re upset that it failed.

"The system is what it does. And what it does is to produce saboteurs, rioters, criminals, and assassins.

"Let’s stop pretending the Left wants what the rest of us want. That hasn’t been true in decades. What they want is power, ostensibly to perfect human society along their prescriptions.

"Maximum power." . . . More...

New York’s Radical LGBTQ Policies Target Catholic Nuns

These ladies received no citations from the state’s Department of Health, yet they are still being targeted.

The American Spectator

"The Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne, who have been caring for patients with terminal cancer for over 125 years, are being sent warning letters from the state of New York for refusing to adhere to the Long-Term Care Facility Residents’ Bill of Rights for LGBTQIA+ New Yorkers and People Living with HIV Act.

"The Spectator P.M. Podcast hosts Ellie Gardey Holmes and Lyrah Margo give insight into the case and how these nuns are being attacked by the state for their religious beliefs. Ellie and Lyrah continue to sound the alarm on the harms of transgenderism and express disappointment toward the state for continuing to push the ideology." . . .. Podcast at the link

Nuns Caring for Terminally Ill Sue New York Over Transgender Mandate

. . . "The nuns take in terminally ill patients who have no one to care for them.

"According to EWTN News, the state’s public health agency sent the nuns three letters, accusing them of not complying with a 2023 New York law for “refusing to assign a room to a resident other than in accordance with the resident’s gender identity,” “prohibiting a resident from using a restroom available to other persons of the same gender identity,” and “willfully and repeatedly failing to use a resident’s preferred name or pronouns after being clearly informed of the preferred name or pronouns.”

"The New York Legislature passed “The Long-Term Care Facility Residents’ Bill of Rights for LGBTQIA+ New Yorkers and People Living with HIV” in 2023.

"The nuns filed a complaint on April 6, claiming the law violates the First and Fourteenth Amendments.

"We all know Catholic teachingsBut complying with the state’s rules is not an option for them, since the directives contradict their Catholic faith, the sisters told the National Catholic Register, the sister partner of EWTN News. The Catholic Church teaches that sex can’t be changed or separated from gender, although it also says people identifying as transgender must be treated with respect and compassion."

Sorry; wrong nuns.

May God richly bless these ladies.

Palisades arsonist became 'fixated' with Luigi Mangione before deadly blaze: prosecutors

 NY Post

"These insufferable younger generations with their hands out perpetually. How on Gods green earth do they believe someone else OWES Them a future or survival . It’s absolutely exhausting how these people incessantly complain and spew vitriol against people who’ve had success in life . Grow up."  Reader comment

"The deranged firebug accused of igniting the devastating Palisades Fire had become “fixated” on Luigi Mangione in the lead-up to the deadly blaze — and then allegedly suggested the inferno was started out of “resentment of the rich,” prosecutors said.

"Jonathan Rinderknecht, 30, was obsessed with the accused health care CEO killer and had routinely searched “free Luigi Mangione” and “lets take down all the billionaires” online, court documents show.

"In the weeks and hours before allegedly sparking the blaze that triggered the catastrophic Palisades Fire, Rinderknecht — who worked as an Uber driver — ranted to customers about Mangione’s arrest, too.

“Many of defendant’s Uber passengers on December 31, 2024 and January 1, 2025, described defendant as angry, intense, driving erratically, and ranting about being ‘pissed off at the world’ and Luigi Mangione, capitalism, and vigilantism,” prosecutors noted in a trial memorandum." . . .More...

Can Our Civilization Survive Its Betrayal By Elites?

  HotAir

"Our societies have become suicidal, sometimes in a literal way (ask Canadians about that). Our elites have flooded our countries with barbarians who are raping and murdering."

This is an elite?

"Sometimes you have to wonder what the point of fighting the decline of Western Civilization is.

"It seems inevitable, and enough people seem to tolerate it that it's easy to think about giving up, moving someplace where the deterioration will take longer or be avoided by a large enough concentration of people who share our values, so sanity will prevail.

"I continue to believe this attitude is wrong, morally, strategically, and tactically. It may be tempting to go down that path, but we are not put on this Earth to do easy things; we are put here to do important things, which are often hard.

"I have taken to keeping a running tab of outrageous stories about crime, not because I am obsessed with or worry much about crime impacting me, but because the evolving attitude about crime in Western societies is symptomatic of a larger cultural disease." . . .

Elizabeth Warren 1, Spirit Airlines 0

The Morning Briefing: Elizabeth Warren's Commie Dreams Just Killed 17,000 Jobs – PJ Media

AfterMath - Home

Another victim of the Democrats.  . . . "President Trump tried but failed to engineer a $500 million dollar bailout. Government bailouts are anathema in principle to free markets, but in this case it can be argued that government obstructionism made Spirit’s desperate push for the bailout inevitable.

"During its death spiral, Spirit abandoned 90 routes and dropped from 23,000 jobs in 2023 to about 7500 as of a week ago. Now, zero. Meanwhile, the upper management of American, Delta, Southwest, and United Airlines are likely (quietly) grateful to Senator Warren and her Massachusetts constituents, who continue to stick with her through thick and thin."

Elizabeth Warren Gets Wrecked by Community Notes for Trying to Spin Spirit Airlines Comments – RedState

Warren was shredded on X for her shameless spin.

What was marvelous was that she then got wrecked with a couple of savage Community Notes, which didn't let her get away with that contradiction. They reminded her how she called it a "Biden win for flyers," but now, with the shutdown, there were fewer flights and less competition.

Safe to say, she was ratioed into oblivion. " . . . More...

Warren blames Spirit Airlines closure on Iran war after advocating against JetBlue-Spirit merger | Just The News

“The 14,000 employees at Spirit who’ve lost their job loss, the travelers who will now pay higher fares, and the shareholders and debt holders who have been wiped out can thank Elizabeth Warren,” Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) wrote on X on Saturday. “Electing left politicians, who have ZERO business experience, has consequences.”

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz reposted a critical Warren post and wrote, “Stunning.” . . .

An ancient killer returns to California

 Andrea Widburg - American Thinker

"And of course, when it comes to diseases in homeless populations, it’s not complicated: They’re mentally ill, drug addicted, and living in crowded, filthy conditions. It’s a perfect petri dish."

"Tuberculosis is one of humankind’s oldest continuously existing diseases. Confirmed cases have been found in mummies dating as far back as 3,000 B.C., although evidence suggests that the TB gene goes back tens of thousands of years.
"Age has not lessened its virulence, for it was one of the great killers in 18th- and 19th-century Europe and America. In the early 1800s, it is estimated to have caused 25% of urban deaths in the U.S., and was probably the leading overall single cause of death in America before antibiotics. And now it’s back.
"Perhaps not coincidentally, it’s back in California:

"California health officials are scrambling after tuberculosis exposures were confirmed at multiple schools as cases of the world’s deadliest infectious disease continue climbing across the state.

Fresno County officials confirmed a cluster at Justin Garza High School, where one active infection was found, though authorities did not specify whether the case involved a student or staff, according to ABC30.

Officials emphasized no one on campus is currently contagious, but 22 out of 169 people exposed have tested positive for the infection, though they show no symptoms yet.

[snip]

Meanwhile, San Diego County officials announced Wednesday a potential TB exposure was also reported at Sunset Elementary School in San Ysidro." .

. . . "Putting together these two things—homelessness and illegal aliens—has interesting results. Fresno is estimated to have around 4,500 homeless people and around 75,000-85,000 illegal aliens. Meanwhile, San Diego County has almost 10,000 homeless people and 160,000-170,000 illegal aliens. Both have huge concentrations of disease vectors.

It can’t be a coincidence that both areas are seeing TB. And no, I don’t have any data. This is all going on gut feelings, but I’m pretty sure I’m correct."

Remember Tonsils in the Dick Tracy - 1950s Era comic strip and his strange singing style?

  • "Giftedly Bad: As awful as his singing was, after Dude forced a DJ at gunpoint to let him sing on air people got interested in him as a novelty act. He was noted for putting a lot of energy into his singing and dancing." So Gavinesque.

"What is going on with Gavin Newsom? Look, we know the guy has always been somewhat of a mess, but lately, every time we see him on video, he seems almost jittery. UPDATED! $2.2B Obama Ivanpah Project Shutting Down, Leaving Behind 173K Thermal Collectors; The purple-haired DeLauro update!

Christina Aguayo . . . "So - the $2.2 billion Obama-era green energy investment meant to benefit the environment depended on natural gas because of cloud cover, killed tens of thousands of birds, displaced hundreds of desert tortoises causing risk of higher mortality, destroyed rare plant species and sacred Indigenous sites, and had ecological costs that outweighed its benefits.
"Plus the site's altered ecosystem may never fully recover.
"This marks the latest in a long list of Obama DOE funded large scale solar plants that went belly up.
"According to Solar Insure, 16 large solar companies have gone under since 2023, with over 100 solar companies filing for bankruptcy in the year 2023 alone."

Comment from a reader: "The plants are shutting down, but the infrastructure in place will be reused for solar panels. However i will agree the plant is a failure. The plant’s design basically uses mirrors to heat molten salt. That molten salt is then used to heat water. However at night, the mirrors cant direct enough radiation to keep the motel salt, molten, so the molten salt cools and hardens. Meaning the plant needs natural gas to keep it running at night or it hardens and no longer works. The plant is being sold to pg&e and edison (everyone hates these two)."

UPDATE: Finally, An Administration That’s Changing The Climate Narrative – Issues & Insights . . . "In a town where hot air, witless politicians, and ruinous policies outweigh sensibility, Zeldin gives hope. Earlier this month, the New York Times reported that “Zeldin has fundamentally shifted both the EPA’s mission and the words he uses to describe it.”

"Rather than harping on terms such as “global warming,” “energy efficiency,” “pollution,” “toxics,” and “public health,” Zeldin instead uses “energy dominance,” “American energy,” “economic growth,” “red tape,” and “cost of living,” the Times complained. The narrative swing is apparently part of Zeldin’s effort to oversee “a systematic unraveling of climate change protections.”

"To the Times and the rest of the true believers, the climate grifters, the gullible and useful idiots, and the revolutionaries on the left, this is a tragedy.

9 Terms That Instantly Reveal That You’re From the South

 Word Smarts

"Certain words are markers of specific regions of the United States. Southern American English has one of the most distinctive dialects, with words and phrases you won’t find anywhere else in the country."

"When* you meet someone for the first time, you might ask things like, “Where did you go to school?” or “Where did you grow up?” You can also look for certain context clues that will give you something to talk about. A hat or a sweatshirt might broadcast their allegiance to a certain university, and their accent or use of certain terms can give away where they’re from. For example, if they say “wicked” instead of “very,” they’re probably from Boston, and if they use “stove up” for “exhausted,” they’re likely from Maine. A Californian, on the other hand, might say “hella” instead of “very,” “stoked” instead of “excited,” or “gnarly” instead of “intense.” But what if they’re from the South?

*In the South I have heard "when" pronounced with two syllables. TD

Eric Swalwell says his 'friends' in Congress -- Raskin, Schiff, Jeffries -- were as bad as he was

 Monica Showalter - American Thinker

"Swalwell named Jamie Raskin, Hakeem Jeffries, and Adam Schiff as his "friends" who "engaged in all the same activities." All three have denied the allegations. It will be interesting to watch it play out."

"Shouldn't this be investigated? Shouldn't Sen. Adam Schiff be in the witness chair in congressional hearings telling us which women he harassed, and any records of payouts to sex-harassment victims with non-disclosure agreements be revealed? Shouldn't Raskin? Shouldn't Jeffries?

"And Swalwell should be invited back to Congress by congressional leaders with a red carpet to tell all he knows.

"Notice that the named culprits are all, like Swalwell, considered attack dogs for the Democrats, meaning, their leadership tolerates their sex harassment so long as they bark on cue. Maybe we could hear a little about that, too.

"Here they are, in their 'friend' days, speaking their pieties:
