You Really Don’t Want Democrats To Win The Midterms

 J. Robert Smith

"The midterms are about more than Trump, Iran, and the price of gas. They reflect an ideological shift among Democrats that could permanently change America’s trajectory."

"So, you’re thinking about sitting out the midterms. Or you might just vote Democrat to protest. The Iran war has dragged on too long, you say. Months rather than weeks hardly make it Vietnam, though. Casualties are minor. Consider: Iran with nuclear weapons would be an uber-terror state. It would pose a 24/7 threat to U.S. security. Victor Davis Hanson is right: Breaking Iran is a gift, yet hard to appreciate now. Higher gas, diesel, and grocery prices are chewing up your budget. No argument. But relief is coming.
"The midterms are playing out in a broader context. They’re threshold elections for Democrats. They’re crossing over into socialism. When you appreciate how extreme their agenda is about to become, maybe it would be wise to temper your disgust with Trump and Republicans? For Democrats, there’s no turning back.
"Democrats aren’t merely jumping the shark. They’ve been moving left since Woodrow Wilson. Once venerated, Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson are thoroughly reviled by the rank and file. JFK was an outlier.
"Full-throttle socialism is Democrats’ logical destination. And not years from now. With socialism comes rigid top-down governance. “Collective” rights over individual rights. Less is more mantras. A potential climate “holocaust” -- unending kudos to grifter Al Gore -- makes draconian economic policies mandatory. Do you appreciate how “greens” have hobbled Germany’s economy?" . . .More.

Why Be Jewish In A Time Of Rampant Antisemitism?

American Thinker

"For those Jews questioning their allegiance to Judaism in these trying times, this is a reminder of the myriad blessings that flow from fealty to the faith."

"Why should any Jew want to remain a Jew, given the long-standing, rampant anti-Semitism in the world? There must have been evolutionary advantages. Otherwise, Jews and Judaism would have disappeared over the millennia. The following mechanisms embedded in Judaism make it not only palatable, but desirable for Jews to remain within the fold.

"First. At its heart, Judaism touts the Ten Commandments. Let’s begin with “You Should Not Murder!” If murder is forbidden and this restriction applies to all members of the Jewish tribe without exception, everyone is safer without having to resort to the revenge behavior common in pre-Biblical times to obtain justice. Expectations of intra-group safety have always been part of Jewish communal life.

"Second. The commandment to “Honor Your Mother and Father” makes parental abandonment of children less likely. It is a form of social security that enshrines the principle of reciprocity across generations. If parents care for their children with great and continuous affection, the children may remember and feel obligated to care for their elderly parents.

"Third. The observance of the Jewish Sabbath (Shabbat) is an amazing commandment. The Biblical punishment for violating Shabbat restrictions was death by stoning (with only one reported case). Nonetheless, the Jews had to be coerced, with threats of capital punishment, into taking one day in seven for rest. Perhaps opposition to Shabbat restrictions arose because “rest” extended to wives, children, slaves, servants, and work animals.

"In short, Shabbat was a major move toward civilization. A sanctioned day away from labor was essentially nonexistent in the late Neolithic and early Bronze Ages before the Biblical commandment was promulgated. It was costly to skip work for one day in seven, but Shabbat increased opportunities for rest, health, and joy. During Temple times, singing and playing musical instruments were proper activities for the day of rest, as recorded in King David’s Psalms." . . .  More.

Nancy Guthrie latest updates: Authorities investigate possible new ransom note

Nancy Guthrie has been missing since Feb. 1.

"In July, the Pima County Sheriff's Department released two ransom notes that surfaced after Nancy's disappearance, asking anyone who recognized the writer's distinctive style to come forward."

"Authorities have said they are looking into a possible new ransom note linked to the Nancy Guthrie investigation, nearly eight months after she went missing.
"Posting on X on Sept. 28, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said its joint task force with the FBI had been "recently made aware" of the note, adding that investigators are reviewing social media comments about it as they work to "determine its credibility."
"Officials have not disclosed how they found the note or what it says.
"This is the latest note potentially linked to the case. In July, authorities released two ransom notes initially sent to a Tucson TV station and other news outlets days after the mother of "Today" show host Savannah Guthrie went missing.
"Nancy, 84, disappeared from her home in Tucson, Arizona, on Jan. 31. She was last seen at about 9:45 p.m. when a family member dropped her off after dinner, and was reported missing around noon the next day when she didn't show up at a friend's house to watch a church service online.
"Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has said investigators believe she was taken by force, ruling out any dementia-related disappearance. "She is as sharp as a tack," he said early in the investigation, adding that her physical limitations were "based on just age." Guthrie relies on a pacemaker and requires daily medication that could be fatal to miss." . . . More.

"Hostile groups also hunt for expertise inside American institutions, where technical access and public trust become powerful weapons in the wrong hands."

"A federal employee entrusted with work inside America’s Department of Energy is now accused of trying to put his technical expertise at the service of an Iran-backed terrorist organization.

"Federal agents arrested a 51-year-old electrical engineer from Richland, Washington, after investigators say he bought materials associated with homemade explosives and drones, traveled into Houthi-controlled Yemen and later advised people he believed were connected to the group.

"The suspect, Ashton Hamed Ellaboudy, worked for the Department of Energy. Prosecutors charged him with attempting to provide material support or resources to the Houthis, a U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organization.

"The FBI publicly confirmed the arrest and framed the case as a homeland-security operation:" . . .   More.

'Clowns are out.' Hegseth lashes out at trans troops, 'beardos' in speech

Hegseth blasts DEI, transgender troops in State of the Force speech

House Dems offer bill to keep transgender troops in the ranks   "Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth lashed out about transgender troops, disparaged diversity initiatives and criticized the news media in a speech to U.S. service members gathered at the Marine Corps Base Quantico.

The address, dubbed the "State of the Force," was promoted by the Pentagon as a chance for Hegseth to lay out his priorities for the coming year. Instead, it largely gave him a chance to air his long-held grievances and concerns about the military's culture.

"The ideological clowns are out, the patriotic cowboys are in," Hegseth said. "Diversity is not our strength, unity is our strength because that’s all that really matters when the missiles are flying."

Though Hegseth started the address by focusing on culture issues in the military, he announced several modernization initiatives.

Here's How 'The New York Times' Reported 9 Historic Attacks

 Babylon Bee

"The New York Times is a staple of the American newspaper industry, which is impressive considering it has a reputation for not reporting news. Its recent treatment of the attempted terrorist hijacking of a FlyDubai jet is only the latest example.

Don't believe us? Let's take a look at how the Times reported 9 historic attacks:" . . . More...

"It was a lie so pervasive that Joe Biden used it as the basis of the launch of his campaign. And CNN was at the heart of it. MSNOW and Politico are just as bad."

"It’s easy to forget about The Potato, as he slides further and further from relevance, but his own words are a useful answer to journos with their knickers in a knot over the latest press pool announcement.

"You will remember that MSNOW, Politico, and CNN from the White House Press pool, after opening it to some of the smaller independent reporters earlier in the year.

"Predictably, Journos are livid. Threat to democracy, yada, yada, yada. Same old drill.

The President Versus The Mainstream Media... . "It remains to be seen how this dispute will end. Although President Trump signaled his intention to appeal Judge Kelly’s restraining order, which expires on October 8, no formal appeal has been filed yet. The Department of Justice has said that when the judge resumes hearings on whether to issue a longer-term injunction, the administration will defend the ban and challenge long-standing precedents governing White House access. Clearly, the president is in no mood to back down."
