The Latest Attempt to Impeach Trump Criminalizes Not Being a Leftist

 Robert Spencer

"If no genuine ethical violations can be found, fabricate some out of the mere fact that Republicans have a vision and policy recommendations that differ from those of the Democrats." . . .

Cohen defends chicken stunt aimed at Barr  "The joke largely fell flat. Most notably, Jimmy Kimmel mocked the
stunt and warned Democrats that using this kind of “sick burns” will cost them the presidential election in 2020."

"Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.), an otherwise completely obscure far-left backbencher, has just made a bid not to slide into total oblivion once he finally skulks out of the Capitol for the last time. He has filed articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, and while many other quixotic leftists have done that, Cohen has distinguished himself in filing no less than 26 articles of impeachment against Trump, which has got to be a record.

"Prof. Jonathan Turley remarked drily that Cohen “appears to believe that the problem with past impeachments has been brevity. His 26 articles of impeachment include everything short of ripping a label off a mattress, including the new impeachable offense of ‘self-aggrandizement.’”

"Wow. “Self-aggrandizement” is impeachable now? If that sticks, and in light of the fact that the last time the Democrats impeached Trump, he was out of office, Barack Hussein Obama and Old Joe Biden better tread lightly. Few, if any, of the occupants of the White House have been more self-aggrandizing than that pair of unctuous dissemblers, and so if “self-aggrandizement” is impeachable, they better be prepared to get their own articles of impeachment fairly soon.

"Newsweek reported Saturday that Cohen’s articles of impeachment, which he introduced last Thursday, accuse Trump of “abuses of power, violations of his oath of office, and a sweeping range of other alleged misconduct.” What they ultimately boil down to, however, is that Trump is not a far-left Democrat, and is, in fact, impeding the advancement of the far-left, Democrat agenda, and so he must be discredited and destroyed.

"Cohen, who is, disgracefully enough, a senior member of the House Judiciary Committee, is clearly following the strategy that the Democrats have used with varying levels of success ever since Watergate: accuse Republicans of ethical violations, while posing as being pure and free from corruption. If no genuine ethical violations can be found, fabricate some out of the mere fact that Republicans have a vision and policy recommendations that differ from those of the Democrats. Like any good authoritarian, attempt to make disagreement into a criminal offense."

CNN Spreads a New 'Fear Story' About Trump, Midterms, Then They Wonder Why Media Has No Credibility

"We saw CNN melting down over their booting from the White House.

Their access was restored by a judge for 14 days.

They were still whining about allegedly being denied access to Air Force One with President Donald Trump on Saturday, to attend a college football game, calling that "breaking news."

But if you had any doubt about why President Donald Trump and virtually anyone else who has watched CNN's "news" has a problem with the things they put out, check out this clip as Jake Tapper says there is "growing concern" from "experts" about what Trump "might do," as the "Republican Party appears headed toward losses in the midterm elections." Notice the chyron: "Advisers urge Trump to declare martial law for the midterms."

Then Tapper has to scale that back, saying it's from an article by The Atlantic and they're referring to "outside advisers," i.e., not people in the White House. Then Tapper cites some amorphous comment from Tina Peters: "There is a plan." What does that even mean? That Trump wants election security? But CNN is clearly spinning it.

Tapper plays some clip of Trump saying something about "nationalizing voting." That's not "martial law." White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that was a reference to the SAVE America Act to mandate proof of citizenship. Notice Tapper doesn't note that. . .. "More.

CNN Gets Nailed by Another Media Outlet Over Its Latest Claim About Pool Coverage – RedState

Nice Try: Thursday's Trump-Xi WH Dinner Coverage Does Not Go Well for CNN, MS NOW

We Must Hang Together Against The Left; Or else, as Ben Franklin said, we’ll hang separately.

David Prentice - American Thinker

For us to do nothing before we lose to violent-leaning people would be cowardice.  We have so much good to fight for, but fighting against violent communists who want to destroy us should be enough.

"As the Declaration of Independence was being debated, Ben Franklin stood, proclaiming, “We must indeed hang together, or most assuredly we shall all hang separately.”

The founding fathers would fight an empire that wanted to kill them.  We face a similar problem today, but from within. Today, we face different issues.  But make no mistake: What Franklin said echoes down to us in a truth we must acknowledge.

We encounter a growing civil divide that is moving from warm to hot, fighting not only a derelict left that embraces bad attitudes and ideas, but also many leftists who want to harm their opponents.  The left has headed over the edge, has been heading there for years, and leftists’ resolve and rage grow with each month.  They have become a group that embraces violence, up to and including the murder of those on the center-right whom they disagree with, and particularly those most effective in our movement.

Their leaders have an audience, a large constituency, that has slowly become numb to the left’s violent speech and actions.  Virtually one third of the Democrat party members agree that it would be good if President Trump were assassinated.  These are not a few random people.  Yes, much of the rank and file may not say these things, or be murderous people, but the big problem is that they ignore the rhetoric and real violence.  They remain silent.

That is more than unsettling.

When you factor in the rise of Hasan Piker as one of the left’s newly minted chief spokesmen, you know there is a flood of sympathy from most leftists to using violence as a major tactic.  He wants “capitalist blood in the streets.”  He leans into Islamic superiority.  He hates this country.  The silent majority of leftists agree.

Heck, many on the left celebrated the first “Kirkaversity,” making fun of Charlie Kirk’s murder and those who loved him.  I saw no one on the left upset or even mildly challenging this kind of disgusting behavior.  In the world of high-stakes poker, you would call this a “tell.”  They have become numb to violence and ugly rhetoric.  They now expect it, swimming in a sea of complicity.

All this to say, Houston, we have a problem.  The left appears to want harm inflicted on MAGA-supporters, all because we support the MAGA movement, Trump, and the new conservatism.  Not only is Trump derangement syndrome real, but the 24/7 news cycle supporting TDS was highly effective.  It has made a swath of our citizenry angry enough to kill, or at least condone killing those they disagree with." . . . More...

They want to get rid of Trump by any means possible "The Left has become increasingly violent in its assessment of Donald Trump and his administration. Its derangement seems to know no bounds, and many on the Left are prepared to see him cast out of the presidency. Democratic politicians who embrace this attitude are to blame for ramping up the heat and hatred toward him, and they should be mortified by their own rhetoric.

"But their rage continues unabated.

One recent poll by the Center for Strategic Politics, conducted in conjunction with the liberal pollster Liberal Currents, has verified the escalating rancor:

Indeed, support for an impeachment, conviction, and removal received the highest amount of support, with 75% of respondents feeling ‘very positive’ about that route. Being removed via the 25th Amendment was a close second at 70%, Trump passing away ‘overnight in his sleep’ received a shocking 45%, and being removed by a military coup as a means to ‘safeguard the Constitution’ sits at a 43% ‘very positive’ ranking.

"Support for assassination registered at 29%." . . .More.
