GOP'S OBAMACARE REPEAL PROJECT

Neal Boortz  "I think the Republicans are making their first big mistake of the 112th Congress this week. John Boehner has scheduled a repeal vote for ObamaCare on January 12th. It will pass the House .. but things don't look at all good for the Senate. The GOP is really just making a statement here: "ObamaCare, here we come." But they're doing it wrong. They are making it easy for Pelosi and the Democrats to retaliate with sound bites delivered to a press eager to see the Republicans fall flat on their faces."

MOST POWERFUL WOMAN IN WASHINGTON ..."With parts of Obamacare going into effect, and many more parts left to go, Kathleen Sebelius is the one who gets to make crucial decisions about the future of our healthcare system. Some poor sap took the time to count the number of references in Obamacare that refer to the secretary: there are 700 references in Obamacare to the secretary "shall," 200 to the secretary "may," and 139 to the secretary "determines." In other words, the secretary has a lot of decisions to make and power to wield."

U.S. Military fields new mine roller technology to defeat IEDs

scribd.com photo with article.
GlobalSecurity.org  "The job of the SPARKS II is to attach to the front of vehicles and detonate roadside bombs before they have a chance to harm servicemembers riding in the cab. This is the same job as other mine rollers, but SPARKS II gives servicemembers more options to protect themselves.
"The driver has the ability to make on-the-spot changes to how the new roller operates from inside the vehicle. They can manipulate a variety of settings and change how SPARKS II interacts with the environment within moments.
"One of the most useful features of the new system is the ability to change distance from the vehicle to the roller, which can also be done without having to leave the vehicle, said Tilford Briscoe, site manager for R4 Inc*, the company in charge of fielding SPARKS II."

Obama Returns From Vacation to Face Opposition in Congress

AP  "With the damaged economy, unemployment and the national debt uppermost among American concerns, Republicans have vowed to shrink government and ease federal oversight of the private sector. That, they argue, will unshackle private business to heal the wounds from the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression of the 1930s.
"Obama and most Democrats counter that regulation is more necessary now than ever, especially after the private financial sector -- using untested investment tools -- nearly brought down the economy in the fall of 2008. And Obama and his fellow Democrats fought too long and too hard for health care reform to shirk even the smallest fight on that issue."

Egypt and destruction of churches: Strategic implications

STRATFOR  "What is clear, however, is that the attack on a church in one country — Egypt — is far from common and was particularly destructive. Egypt has been relatively quiet in terms of terrorism, and there have been few recent attacks on the large Coptic Christian population. The Egyptian government has been effective in ruthlessly suppressing Islamist extremists and has been active in sharing intelligence on terrorism with American, Israeli and other Muslim governments. Its intelligence apparatus has been one of the mainstays of global efforts to limit terrorism as well as keep Egypt’s domestic opposition in check."

Happy New Year from Mike Ramirez

Raging Against “Them”

Victor Davis Hanson  "By May 2009 we were lectured that the nascent tea-party was an Astroturf fake movement, then a racist dangerous movement with Nazi undertones, and then a splinter nihilist know-nothing movement without political consequences.
"By November 2011 all the above vanished in a blink. Furor followed from the Left that Obama was not a Great Stone Face savior, that the Tea Party was all too real, that the conservatives were back, and that liberalism had suffered its worst electoral defeat since 1938. How can all this be? Whom to blame?"

ObamaCare repeal vote Jan 12th

HouseRepublicans "Today, the House Republicans released their proposed package of rules changes for the 112th Congress. These changes will be considered during the continued organization meeting of the House Republican Conference in early January and on the opening day of the 112th Congress."

ObamaCare Repeal Vote Next Week, Bill to De-Fund Abortion Soon  "“Obamacare is a job killer for businesses small and large, and the top priority for House Republicans is going to be to cut spending and grow the economy and jobs,” Cantor spokesman Brad Dayspring said in a statement. “Further, ObamaCare failed to lower costs as the president promised that it would and does not allow people to keep the care they currently have if they like it. That is why the House will repeal it next week.”"

The Spaghetti Strategy: Advice to Republicans ""You might start to feel as we have felt these last few years; you know that sick feeling in your stomach? We got it when we realized how your policies were designed to harm our country. You will get it when you realize that all of your socialist dreams for America or the dreams of your father for America are crumbling under the weight of a renewed American patriotism. If the GOP can deliver, it will be a rather delicious irony. The American people would finally have a chance to impose something on you for a change, Mr. President."

Gorgon Stare Broadens UAV Surveillance "The U.S. Air Force’s new Gorgon Stare Wide Area Airborne Surveillance System, described as a revolutionary intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) technology, will make its combat debut in December, flying over undisclosed locations in Afghanistan on board MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Christians attacked in Egypt

Muslims Chant "AllahuAkbar" After Car Bomb Kills 21 Christians "Eyewitnesses confirmed that security forces guarding the church withdrew nearly one hour before the blast, leaving only four policemen and an officer to guard such a big church and nearly 2000 people attending the midnight mass. "Normally they would have waited until the mass was over," said el-Gezeiry. He also comment More..ed on the Muslim's schadenfreude at the massacre at the church, who were heard chanting "Allah Akbar."
""Is this a victory?" He asks. "Whoever saw this fire and people dying and body parts all over the place and could still chant 'Allah Akbar' is a terrorist.""

Our valiant, courageous press

Leftist media in full court press backing warmism  "Everyone knows how fickle the mainstream media is, and how they are ultimately driven to out-scoop each other for ratings gains. If they smell blood in the water of an imminent collapse to this entire so-called crisis, they will turn on each other and promoters like Romm and Gelbspan in a heartbeat, no doubt with yells of being hoodwinked or assumptions that other news outlets had initially checked the voracity of the "warming" science everyone else relies on."
How fiction became news "Pick up a copy of the New York Times or the Washington Post any day of the week when they run an article on Israel and you're apt to find prominent quotes from reporters and columnists of Haaretz, a far-left newspaper with limited circulation that is treated as gospel by Western reporters based in Jerusalem"

Cagle Cartoons

"In his report on the escalating dispute between the State of Texas and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, one thing you cannot accuse Ramit Plushnick-Masti of the Associated Press of being is a master of understatement. He claims that "Both sides and conservation groups agree the battle has put the health of Texas residents and the environment at risk."
Really? The only problem is that the AP reporter never found anyone who is currently on the Texas side of the dispute who is saying anything remotely resembling that."....
"Implication: Texas needs to be squashed like a bug."

The beginning of a trend? American companies rethink China

Phil Boehmke "It is just a trickle right now, but as China grapples with its “revolution of rising expectations,” the hard pressed U.S. manufacturing sector could see some real gains. No doubt Mr. Obama will claim victory for each job driven back home by conditions in China."
