Pete Buttigieg: Racism is 'physically built into' country's highways

Washington Examiner  "Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg suggested in a recent interview that racism is built into the country's highway system.

“ 'There is racism physically built into some of our highways, and that’s why the jobs plan has specifically committed to reconnect some of the communities that were divided by these dollars,” the former South Bend, Indiana, mayor told reporter April Ryan this week in an interview discussing President Joe Biden’s proposed $2 trillion infrastructure plan.

"Buttigieg explained that several major highways in the United States negatively affect minority communities.

“ 'Well, if you’re in Washington, I’m told that the history of that highway is one that was built at the expense of communities of color in the D.C. area,” he said. “There are stories, and I think Philadelphia and Pittsburgh [and] in New York, Robert Moses famously saw through the construction of a lot of highways.”

"Buttigieg added that there has been a lack of federal infrastructure projects in black communities throughout history and said it “wasn’t just an act of neglect” but rather a “conscious choice” that the Biden administration hopes to rectify in the new spending package." . . .

Psaki Confirms Joe Biden’s Panel Is Considering Court Packing… | Weasel Zippers
‘People will present different opinions and different points of view and then they’ll have a report at the end of a 180 days’

EXCERPT:

"PSAKI: "Well, first, he's -- the panel's being asked to do a number -- take a number of steps, including the pros and cons on exactly that issue. But they will also be looking at the court's role in the constitutional system, the length of service and turnover of justice on the court -- justices on the court, the membership and size of the court, and the court's case selection, rules, and practices. And the makeup of this commission, which was vital for the president is, there are progressives on the court, there are conservatives on the court, people will present different opinions and different points of view and then they'll have the report at the end of 180 days.' "Let’s also remind folks about the position of that great hero to many on the left, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. But what they often like to forget was how much she believed in not further politicizing the Court and how much she was against such schemes as court-packing, even if it was proposed or pushed by Democrats." . . .

WATCH: Trump Hammered Biden on Packing SCOTUS with 'Radical Left Justices' During 2020 Debate (trendingpolitics.com)  "Future president Joe Biden misled the American people and deflected numerous times on the campaign trail about packing the U.S. Supreme Court with radical justices.

On Friday, however the White House is expected to issue an executive order to form a commission in a first step towards potentially packing the Supreme Court.

Biden’s track record of opposing court-packing, a partisan practice that was widely rebuked under the Roosevelt administration, runs directly contrary to even exploring the measure.

In October, while in Cincinatti, Ohio, Biden told a WKRC reporter that he “not a fan” of the practice." . . .

Former celebrity vocal coach shares how 'darkness' in Hollywood inspired album on spiritual warfare

“People can try to minimize what comes out of Hollywood and say, ‘Oh, it’s just entertainment,’ but it has a tremendous effect on the psyches and souls of our young people,” she said. “The Church needs to stand up against this darkness because it’s truly having a devastating effect on the next generation.”

Christian Post  "A Hollywood celebrity vocal coach has shared how, after God opened her eyes to the “darkness” surrounding her in the secular music industry, she felt compelled to write a worship album focusing on spiritual warfare.

"For years, Kira Fontana worked as a successful vocal coach to major labels and shows such as Glee and The Voice. But the longer she spent in the music industry, the more disillusioned she became by the darkness she witnessed all around her.

“ 'It’s darker than most people could ever imagine,” Fontana told The Christian Post. “If you look at the content of the lyrics of the songs that are played on the radio, it’s unbelievably immoral and dark and anti-Jesus. When I started to see the sheer percentage of songs and videos that were leaning heavily in that direction I came to recognize that it could not be an accident. People in very powerful positions are backing it; there are gatekeepers who are wanting this content that we hear now to be prevalent in our society.”

“ 'It’s akin to poisoning our community, and our kids are drinking from a very, very, very destructive cup,” she said. “I saw the effect on kids as I worked in the city, and that effect is spreading. LA is the communication center for this planet; when you go to other countries, you still see content made in Los Angeles. It became a really heavy responsibility.”. . .

. . . "Discouraged, Fontana stopped writing and singing. But at the end of 2017, something changed. Though “spiritual, but not religious” for many years, she felt compelled to truly read the Bible, asking God to show her truth.

“ 'After about a year of really wrestling, I really did commit my life finally, to Christ, and just kind of lay it all down. At that point, I started praying for God to show me how to use the gifts He had given me to glorify Him.” . . .

. . . "Eager to obey God’s calling on her life, Fontana recorded her debut worship album, titled Refuge, named after the first song God spoke into her life." . . .

Kira speaks about her transformation:   "Wanted to share some of the story behind my upcoming album "Refuge", my faith journey and my testimony. I hope it inspires you! 💕 To stay updated on new music, please subscribe to my channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/KiraFont..."

Biden Border Policy Goes South

https://www.terrellaftermath.com/

The American Spectator

Three major polls find that the majority of Americans believe he has bungled immigration.

"When the inevitable assessments of President Biden’s first 100 days in office begin to appear, his precipitous actions pursuant to illegal immigration at the southern border will be judged by most honest observers to have been his worst blunder. That is certainly the perspective of the majority of Americans, according to three recent public opinion surveys. An NPR/Marist poll, for example, found that 53 percent of respondents disapproved of Biden’s handling of immigration. An ABC News/Ipsos poll found that 57 percent were dissatisfied with his management of the situation, particularly as it affects unaccompanied minors. An AP/NORC poll found that 56 percent were unhappy with Biden’s performance on immigration." . . .

. . . "If this suggests the Biden administration is coming to its senses on immigration and border security, don’t bet on it. Biden is a sock puppet in the grasp of the Democratic Party’s left wing, and Harris is even less influential than most VPs. That Biden’s poll numbers are underwater on immigration and border security is of little concern to the people who make his mouth move. He’s obviously not a serious political force in the long term, and they need “undocumented citizens” to remain viable. If Biden’s credibility with the voters crashes and burns pursuant to his purported immigration policies, they’ll just get another sock." More...

Arizona AG says Kamala is refusing to visit despite being named border czar "Arizona's attorney general said Thursday Kamala Harris has not responded to his requests to visit the crisis-hit border, as Republicans released video of migrants crossing the Rio Grande just a few feet behind them.

" 'I guess if you were a philosopher you would say no response is a very loud response because we've not received any response,' Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said in an interview with Fox." . . .

But Nancy Pelosi says Biden is 'improving' the situation at the border; 'The fact is that we're on a good path at the border under the leadership of Biden,' she stated

Georgia Gov. Kemp Rips Biden, Abrams Over Voting Bill Lies, Will Not Bow To Corporate Pressure

Legal Insurrection

“You now have a choice. You can bow down to this cancel culture, [but] I’ll give you a warning. If you do, it’s never enough. It will never be enough,” Gov. Kemp told the crowd after saying he felt the state didn’t need to apologize “one bit” for Georgia’s new voting law.

"After the lies of President Joe Biden, failed 2018 Georgia Democratic gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams, and liberal activists on Georgia’s new voting law cost his state the Major League Baseball All-Star game, a fed up Gov. Brian Kemp held a press conference Saturday in which he ripped both Biden and Abrams as well as the MLB, and vowed not to bow down to cancel culture mobs including those in corporate America.

"Before he took questions, Kemp gave a speech in which, among other things, he noted how MLB’s decision gave another troubling green light to liberal cancel culturalists who were coming for everyone, including other states, businesses, games, and other events in an effort to shut down and silence their opposition.

"He also claimed MLB “put the wishes” of Biden and Abrams over the “economic well-being” of Georgians, made all the worse by the fact that they did so in the middle of a pandemic when people were counting on those paychecks. Kemp also said that if MLB really cared about laws restricting early voting then they would have announced they were moving their headquarters out of New York: . . ."

Ted Kennedy; Father of anti-America

If you look at the modern Democratic Party and see hatred, bitterness, and victimhood, credit the Father of it all: Ted Kennedy.
chatterboxchronicles

Ned Cosby   "If George Washington is the Father of our country, then Ted Kennedy is the father of anti-America. What is anti-America? It is a deep-seated disdain for the America most of us love. Anti-America hates our history, our culture, and our success. Hatred, victimhood, and bitterness are the elements binding anti-America together.

"America twice afforded Ted Kennedy the opportunity to become President. His family was to American politics what the Tudors were to England. Ted was reported to be an excellent football player at Harvard. However, when the political football of leadership came his way on two critical occasions, he fumbled badly and slid bitterly back into the locker room of wannabe Presidents who never made the cut.

"Like previous presidents -- Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, and Teddy’s brother, John -- Teddy was born into wealth. He went to the best schools. He came from a popular political family. What Ted lacked all his life was a moral compass.

"The first scandal came when he was a Harvard freshman. When he was failing a Spanish class, he recruited a friend to take a Spanish exam for him. He and the stand-in were caught and expelled from Harvard.

"Like many politicians, Ted Kennedy had a reputation for womanizing. His vow to remain faithful to his wife, Joan, was a stumbling block to his appetites for extramarital sex. The national press ignored this part of his character until the summer of 1969. While most of America fixated on Apollo 11’s flight to the moon, Kennedy, presumably drunk, drove off a bridge in Chappaquiddick, Massachusetts. Mary Jo Kopechne, who was in the car with him, drowned. Kennedy freed himself from the car and left the scene to begin damage control on his political career as a Senator from Massachusetts. Contrary to standard practice, Kopechne was buried before an autopsy could be performed on her." . . .

Atlanta listening to Alfredo

Silvio Canto, Jr.  "What happened to that business we were going to get because of the All-Star Game?  My guess is that a lot of minority business-owners are asking that question in Atlanta.  Gone is the All-Star Classic and lots of deposits in checking accounts!  They didn't just take the game to Denver.  They took a lot of jobs, too!

"This is why a lot of people in Cobb County are listening to Alfredo Ortiz, the CEO of Job Creators Network.  I don't know if he can throw a curve, but he knows jobs:

"They are barely making it out of the coast crisis out of the pandemic and now they're faced under the Biden administration with potentially higher taxes, a higher minimum wage, more red tape and regulations and now this," Ortiz said of minority business owners. "I mean, this was an opportunity that my understanding and I'm glad you had the commissioner on as well is going to cost upwards of $100 million of economic damages and impact to the state."

"These small business owners especially in Cobb, I mean, a lot of these are minority-owned businesses that were really looking forward and desperately needed this kind of revenue instream," he continued. "All because quite frankly there was a misinterpretation or misunderstanding or... just an outright lie of the law that was passed here in Georgia on voting rights. The bottom line is that law, it just makes it easy to vote and hard to cheat."

"Ortiz is right about the law and the economic impact that pulling the game will have on people.

"He is also correct on the misinterpretation of the law.

"Why so much lying about a law that makes it easier to vote rather than cheat?  I believe that Democrats are trying to change the subject from higher gasoline prices and chaos on the border.  The Democrats always play the race card when they have nothing else to say.

"Meanwhile, lots of minority businesses in Atlanta just saw the midnight train to Georgia take a detour to Denver."

Wealthy and Woke

Victor Davis Hanson

Apparently to rant about “privilege” means the less you need to worry about your own.

"Ed Bastian makes $17 million a year as chief executive officer of Delta Airlines, Georgia’s largest employer.

"Bastian just blasted Georgia’s new voting law. He thinks it is racist to require the same sort of ID to vote that Delta requires for its passengers to check-in.

"Yet most Americans believe voting is a more sacred act than flying Delta and, moreover, may have noticed that Delta has all sorts of partnerships with a systemically racist China. So polls show Americans approve of voter IDs.

"Bastian fears the woke mob more than the majority of Georgia residents who support the law. Apparently, his theory is that the greater numbers of average folks won’t threaten his multimillion-dollar perch as much as fewer but more powerful left-wing elites.

"The most privileged CEOs of corporate America—those who sell us everything from soft drinks and sneakers, to professional sports and social media—now jabber to America about its racism, sexism, and assorted sins.

"The rules of cynical CEO censure are transparent.

"First, the corporation never harangues unless it feels it has more to lose—whether by boycotts, protests, or bad publicity—than it stands to gain in staying neutral and silent. " . . .

Will Spiraling Border Crisis Destroy Biden’s Presidency?

Issues & Insights  "It’s not three months into a four-year term, but Joe Biden’s presidency is already heading for the rocks. Surging waves of immigrants have overwhelmed the U.S.’ southern border. With public anger growing, Biden now has been forced to tacitly recognize President Donald Trump’s border success.

"Just this week, Biden let it be known he’s considering restarting Trump’s border wall construction — just to “fill in” parts of it, his administration says. Right.

"In fact, it’s desperation because the Biden-Democrat open border policy has been an epic disaster, one that could result in huge Democratic losses in 2022 and a lame-duck presidency for Biden.

"An AP-NORC poll shows 56% of those queried disapprove of Biden’s handling of immigration and 55% disapprove of his border security policies. Significantly, this is a glaring weak spot in Biden’s otherwise solid support from independents, who disapprove of his policies cited above by 62% and 67%, respectively.

"Americans have been shocked by images such as this touching video on Wednesday of a lone crying boy left behind by his group to wander the Mexican desert near the border. That’s Biden’s policy in a nutshell.

"And, sadly, it’s entirely predictable." . . .

Top Republican Kevin McCarthy demands absent border 'czar' Kamala address capture of Yemeni terrorists crossing from Mexico

UK Daily Mail  . . . "House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy wants Vice President Kamala Harris to address the capture of two Yemeni nationals on the terror watchlist who crossed into the U.S. from Mexico.

"McCarthy told Fox News that he requested a classified briefing from the FBI and CIA on the matter and said Harris should attend.

" 'I know she hasn't been to the border,' McCarthy told Fox. 'I don't know if she's ever been briefing on this, but I think it'd be important that all leaders, because this isn't about Republican or Democrat, this is about the security of our nation. And everybody should be making sure our nation is secure.'

"McCarthy's call for Harris to finally address the crisis came as more images emerged of migrants from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador crossing the Rio Grande and packing shelters in Texas.

"Families are pouring into the US from Mexico on a daily basis and have pushed crossings up to their highest level in 15 years. Customs and Border Protection revealed that 18,000 unaccompanied children crossed the border, the most in history. More than 172,000 migrants were taken into custody last month, a 71 percent rise from February and the highest number in 15 years.

"A shocking video of an abandoned migrant boy telling border agents he feared he would be kidnapped and footage of Ecuadorian sisters, aged three and five, being dropped over the wall have exposed the dire situation.

"Harris hasn't made a border trip in the 15 days since she was charged with dealing with the root causes of the immigration crisis.  The White House has insisted her role is based on 'diplomacy' with Northern Triangle countries.

"Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas will travel to El Paso and McAllen, Texas on Thursday - holding events that are closed to press.

"Texas Governor Greg Abbott has also piled the pressure on the administration by blaming Biden for migrant children being 'starved and sexually abused' at overcrowded San Antonio camp that is housing 1,370 children." . . .

‘Because I’m White, You Think I’m Racist? That’s BS.’ Eric Bolling Slams Debate Opponent During BBC Discussion On Georgia Election Integrity

Daily Wire

. . . “ 'And how dare you,” Mills continued, “try to act like you are somehow a proponent of black people and businesses just to make a point and try to create a wedge? It’s ignorant and it’s just disrespectful.”

“ 'You know what? That’s disgusting,” Bolling replied in response to Mills’ continued apparent accusations of racism. “I’m done. Put me off. That’s disgusting. I am nowhere near anything you are painting me to be, and the problem with American politics is exactly that. Because I’m white, you think I’m racist? That’s BS. I’m done.”

"After Maitlis asked Bolling to remain for one question, he responded “I don’t know why I’m staying here. I need an apology.”

"Mills replied, “I’m not going to apologize for being offended,” to which Bolling left, saying, “I’m done.' ”

Coulter On The Chauvin Trial: "Minneapolis Vs. The Evidence"

Ann Coulter explains the status of the Derek Chauvin trial by Andrea Widburg   . . . "You know the rest: America caught on fire; Black Lives Matter got in the driver’s seat of the American political, social, and economic establishment; every white person who wasn’t bowing to the mob became a racist; Trump was driven from office; and we now have an administration dedicated to “equity,” which means enshrining racism into federal law and regulations, something that’s highly unconstitutional but our quisling Supreme Court probably won’t care." . . .

Ann Coulter  . . . "Apparently, no one is watching the trial of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer on trial for the murder of George Floyd. Otherwise, the media couldn’t get away with their spectacular lying to the public about how the prosecution is killing it.

"It’s quite the opposite. In fact, in less than a week, the prosecution’s theory of the crime has subtly shifted from MURDER! to “failed to provide what we would say, in retrospect, would be a full and complete duty of care during the one- to three-minute interval between Floyd’s resisting the police to his dying, as a hostile crowd screamed obscenities at the police officers.”

"The defense hasn’t even begun to make its case, but the prosecution’s witnesses keep helping Chauvin. (The only exception to the wild media lying is Headline News, where the lawyer commentators go the extra mile by watching the trial.)" . . .

. . . "One especially distraught witness, Charles McMillian, an elderly black man, testified to seeing “foam” coming out of Floyd’s mouth.

QUIZ: Is foam coming out of the mouth a sign of:

a) a head wound?

b) strangulation?

c) a drug overdose?

ANSWER: c) a drug overdose.  More...

LIVE: Chauvin Trial Day 9 – State’s Evidence Begins to Align with the Defense Narrative of Innocence   . . . "Today begins the 9th day of the prosecution in the Chauvin trial presenting their case-in-chief to the jury, and from the perspective of this small-town lawyer things don’t appear to have been going well for the state so far.

"Indeed, things appear to be degenerating for the state, and badly.

"Followers of this trial will remember how the state began its narrative of guilt to the jury.  Lots of emotion, sorrow over the loss of George Floyd, a man struggling with demons but dearly loved by his family and community.  We had an entire series of bystander witnesses still exhibiting the shock of having watched Floyd apparently die in the street. Many of those witnesses openly sobbed and cried on the witness stand, some to the point where court had to be recessed to allow them to recover and continue their testimony.

"Powerful stuff, on an emotional level.

"But eventually the state ran out of sobbing  and crying bystander witnesses, and the prosecution’s narrative was obliged to begin talking about facts.  And the apparent trend to my eye is that the more the state talks about facts, the more their narrative of guilt begins to closely resemble the defense narrative of innocence." . . .

CNN’s ratings are in the toilet and they hope to regain some of their lost viewers by broadcasting every single second of this trial.
. . . It has nothing to do with “sharing the pain of George Floyd’s family members.” It has everything to do with ratings and advertiser dollars. And don’t doubt me on this one. CNN is hoping like hell for an acquittal. Because with an acquittal will come another wave of riots. And riots are ratings gold.
