As long as Paula Deen is in the news, I think Al Sharpton should be as well

If sponsors are leaving Paula Deen, shouldn't they be deserting NBC because of Sharpton?

When Al Sharpton Incited a Massacre at Freddy's Fashion Mart   "Angelina Marrero . . . Cynthia Martinez . . . Luz Ramos . . . Mayra Rentas . . . Olga Garcia . . . Garnette Ramautar . . . Kareem Brunner their names will forever be remembered as the seven victims of the massacre at Freddy's Fashion Mart.  Their deaths can be traced to the racial incitement of one man.. the faux Reverend Al Sharpton."

Yet people continue to kiss Sharpton's ring for absolution of their sins; 2006: Sharpton: Michael Richard's apology not enough. "In an interview with CNN, Rubenstein said one of first pieces of advice he gave to Richards was to call Sharpton.
" "I knew that would be a good place to start," said Rubenstein, who is a longtime friend of Sharpton. "
It is true that Richards' rant was very much beyond the pale. I can think of many African- Americans for whom his words stir much pain and terrible memories that I feel shame for. I would not hesitate to ask their forgiveness, but the thought of groveling before this demagogue is too much to think about.

Don Imus: Why Apologize to Al Sharpton?  "Apologizing to Al Sharpton is more ironic than anything else, when you consider his shining record of slander and racism.  Between the results of the Tawana Brawley incident and his on-record slurs against Jews, he hardly seems to be the go-to guy for the maligned. ....  I wonder if anyone asked for Sharpton’s resignation when he called Jews “diamond merchants” from the pulpit?  Or when he was sued – successfully - for the slanderous remarks he made in the fallout of the Tawana Brawley case?"

We fail to recognize the true harm done to blacks in our past, yet the way so many have shown forgiveness to the source of that pain and truly desired to reconcile with I regard as nothing short of heroic. How sad that their reputations have been besmirched by these demagogues of the left who seek only power and money.
This nation has been torn apart, perhaps beyond healing by the actions of these sharks.

Let's sum Sharpton up with this:  Al Sharpton’s Long Bill of Goods, From Tawana Brawley to Primetime
"As a ‘Times’ documentary revives one of the many ugly incidents from the reverend’s past, it’s time NBC accounted for its decision to rehabilitate and promote him, writes Stuart Stevens."
