Do You Know the Date of Christ’s Return? You’re Probably in a Cult.

Pulpit & Pen

“When a prophet speaks in the name of Yahweh, if the thing does not happen or come true, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken…” – Deuteronomy 18:22

"Let’s be blunt: If you believe you know the exact date of Jesus’ return, or you’re following someone who claims they do, you’re not more spiritual than the rest of the Church.

"You’re probably in a cult.

"And I don’t mean that flippantly. I mean you’re caught in a high-control belief system built around private revelation, failed prophecies, and spiritual manipulation. It may feel like passionate faith, but it’s disconnected from Scripture, church history, and sound doctrine.

If your first response is, “Yeah, but this time it’s different…” That’s what every cult thinks, including the ones that are now barely footnotes in history.

Jesus Was Explicit: You Don’t Know the Day

"No riddles. No numeric codes. No feast-day theories. No   algorithms.

“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.” – Matthew 24:36 (LSB)

"Jesus didn’t say, “No one knows yet.” He said, “No one knows.”

"He didn’t say, “You’ll be able to calculate it if you’re really watching.” He said even the angels don’t know.

"In Acts 1:6–7, the disciples ask the resurrected Christ if the kingdom will be restored at that time. Jesus replies:

“It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has set by His own authority.”

"That should have settled it. But many people today, like cult leaders and date-setters of the past, are functionally saying, “Actually, it is for us to know.”

"That’s not discernment. That’s defiance.

"Everyone Who Has Tried… Has Been Wrong

"Let’s recap a few examples, and this isn’t even the full list:" . . .More....

The Marks of Cults: Nobody had the truth till we came along; Do they have another book? Give us your money; serve us to gain Salvation; Isolation from others; Division from family and friends; Enslaving Organizational Structure; Seen as the only interpreter of Scripture; uncertain salvation; More...
