NY Times — "Army officers assigned to various schools throughout the country have been ordered to join their commands on the Mexican border. To facilitate this, the War Department has arranged for these schools to graduate their classes ahead of time. External signs indicate that war is now inevitable between the United States and Mexico. The pourparlers between Generals Alvaro Obregon and Hugh L. Scott concerning the immediate withdrawal of American troops from Mexican territory do not appear to have resulted in any understanding. — The New York Herald, European Edition, May 13, 1916"
