The Blue State Conservative Winner: Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer forces Democrats to go on the record and vote on a bill to allow abortion up until the moment of birth. "A week ago, Democrats were hyping the notion that the Dobbs V Jackson case, if the Supreme Court’s ruling goes ahead as it appears it will, would be a windfall for Democrats. It could be the difference between them retaining or ceding power in Congress. But that was never the case. The midterm elections in November will be decided by a lot of things, but abortion and the overturning of Roe V Wade won’t be among them.
"The economy will be at the top of the list of voters’ priorities in the fall. Folks who have watched their 401K accounts evaporate and who are getting clobbered by inflation will be voting with their pocketbooks. Many voters will consider the immigration crisis at the southern border when casting their votes, as well as the instability in Eastern Europe and President Joe Biden’s incoherent foreign policy.
"For most voters, abortion is not their top issue, regardless of if they consider themselves Pro-Life or Pro-Abortion. And for those who do consider it their top priority, what happens in the Supreme Court in the coming days is not going to change how they vote, one way or the other.
"There are too many other problems in our country right now for voters to overlook the utter disaster that the Biden Administration has become just because they may disagree with the Supreme Court. And while we’re all going to have to wait another two years before we can vote Sleep Joe out of power, we can give his cronies in Congress the boot when we vote in less than six months.
"But make no mistake, abortion is still a hot-button issue. ". . .
