Goodbye to All That — 2004-2007
Victor Davis Hanson "In times to come, the period between the failed campaign of John Kerry and the Democratic control of the Congress, coupled with the beginning of the successful surge, should be known as “The Insane Years.” This was the era in which Guantanamo was a gulag, renditions were the stuff of Hollywood movies, and Bush and Cheney were deemed veritable war criminals. Was it all a dream, those nightmare years of 2004-7?"....
This was the period in which Michael Moore called for US defeat in Iraq and dubbed the Islamists who were killing our own soldiers “Minutemen.”

AMERICA WAS WATCHING ... WATCHING THE UNION GOONS
Boortz "Just what is it that Scott Walker and the Republicans in the state legislature want of these government sector unions? Well, they want them to put 5.8% of their wages toward their own retirement. Imagine that! Contributing to your own retirement! Oh, the humanity! They also want government employees to cover 12.6% of their health care premiums. This, of course, is an outrageous concept for Democrats. People just should not be responsible for their own health care. That's the employer's job ... or the government. " Democrats skip town; Obama gets involved;
The cradle of American progressivism might yield the solution to states’ budget woes. "Gov. Scott Walker is bringing austerity to the intellectual breadbasket of American progressivism, and seeks to break the grip of the public-sector unions in a state that had a large hand in empowering them. His effort could become a national model for recalibrating the relationship of state governments to the unions that are bankrupting them." Rich Lowry.
Wisconsin vs. Big Labor "Welcome to the reckoning. We have met the fiscal apocalypse, and it is smack dab in the middle of the heartland. As Wisconsin goes, so goes the nation. Let us pray it does not go the way of the decrepit welfare states of the European Union." Michelle Malkin
ABC's One-Sided Take on Wisconsin Protests Includes an Interview With Top Secret, Hidden Democrat "Correspondent Chris Bury's piece on the protest featured five clips of those protesting the efforts by Republican Governor Scott Walker to make government employees contribute to their retirement plans. He allowed just one in support.
"The reporter narrated, "Last night, more public workers, including these firemen, poured into the capitol. Some families camping out overnight, in a last-ditch effort to protest budget cuts they fear would cripple their union rights.""
WI protesters call Gov. Walker a dictator, put crosshairs on his face "As I noted earlier, the Democrats in the state Senate have now disappeared rather than vote, which also allows the protests to keep spinning up.
"The protests may spin right out of control. Here are a couple of screenshots from a video posted today at Foxnews.com. They speak for themselves. And there are more in the video."The cradle of American progressivism might yield the solution to states’ budget woes. "Gov. Is This How a President Should Act?
Reason Magazine "The president's political machine worked in close coordination Thursday with state and national union officials to mobilize thousands of protesters to gather in Madison and to plan similar demonstrations in other state capitals."
The Tea Party: Chris Rock vs. Lloyd Marcus
Lloyd Marcus "Obviously, Rock does not have a clue what the Tea Party Movement is about. The movement has nothing to do with race and everything to do with principles, values, liberty and freedom.
"Rock's ignorant comments confirm the importance of spreading our message to the black community. Kudos to the Black Tea Party."

The predatory left: they're coming after Rep. Darrell Issa
Liberals launch anti-Darrell Issa crusade "Democrats are understandably obsessed with Darrell Issa — he’s built himself up as a one-man investigative machine aimed straight at the Obama presidency.
"But a handful of liberal political operatives in California — including a former Hillary Clinton hand — are taking their anti-Issa passion to a whole new level, launching a nonprofit group, a website and even paid media advertisements aimed at undermining and investigating the rabble-rousing chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
Does anyone else besides me see a link between what is happening with Rep. Issa and what is transpiring in Wisconsin? We must all support and encourage courageous conservatives who must know the price they will pay to keep this nation solvent.

The American People Can’t Afford to Lose Wisconsin Union Showdown
Heritage "President Barack Obama has federalized the issue, throwing the full weight of the White House, the Democratic National Committee, and his own Organizing for America operation behind government unions, with the assistance of the SEIU and AFSCME unions. This is a major new test for the new governor, Scott Walker. If conservatives lose in Wisconsin, reform might be stifled elsewhere. If they can win, progressivism is in real trouble." ....
"On Thursday, the President told a Wisconsin television station, “I haven’t followed exactly whats happening with the Wisconsin budget … some of what I’ve heard coming out of Wisconsin, where you’re just making it harder for public employees to collectively bargain generally seems like more of an assault on unions.""

Matthews Interviews Common Cause On Justice Thomas, Doesn’t Mention Lynch Threats
Big Journalism "Chris Matthews interviews the Soros-funded Common Cause group about their perceptions of impartiality concerning Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. It should be noted that the group is not on record opposing Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s involvement as a member of La Raza."
Wisconsin’s Governor Walker Takes on Public-Sector Unions
National Review Online "Governor Walker could have raised taxes or fired 6,000 state employees. Instead, like Governor Christie, he decided to actually fix the problems that brought Wisconsin to this point. His budget limits government collective bargaining to just wages, taking benefits and work rules off the bargaining table. He would also require voters to approve any raises above inflation. Walker would prevent government unions from forcing taxpayers to cough up for their gold-plated benefits."

Nir Rosen’s Politics
Nir Rosen |
Nir Rosen and the American Foreign Policy Establishment "Nir Rosen, as it turns out, had pro-Taliban inclinations for quite some time. And so it should not really come as a surprise that a person who’d be willing to defend the terrorist organization might mock a woman—in this case, CBS’s Lara Logan—for being sexually assaulted in Cairo."
