America's Descent into Lawlessness

Victor Davis Hanson . . . "Hundreds of liberal sanctuary cities have announced that federal immigration law does not apply to them. That scary, neo-Confederate idea of legal nullification was sanctioned by the Obama administration — in a way it never would have been if a city had suspended the Endangered Species Act, emissions standards, or gun-control legislation.

"As a result, once-detained and later-released immigrants with criminal records have murdered innocent American citizens.

"Consider the proposed nuclear deal with Iran. By past custom and practice, the nonproliferation agreement would be treated as what it is — a treaty.

"But ratifying treaties constitutionally requires 67 yes votes from the Senate. Obama could never obtain that margin. So he managed to downgrade the treaty into a mere legal agreement. Then he claimed that the Senate required 67 no votes to override his veto.

Best quotes from the "Stop Iran" rally

Karin McQuillan   "This is a very dark moment in American history, and indeed world history.    As the Rally Against Iran was in progress on the lawn before the Capital, inside the building, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced he will do nothing to stop the Democrats from arming and funding Iran, the world’s greatest terror state, Iran.  Is the fate of our country really to be left to such weak and cowardly hands?

"The Democrat and Republican politicians are knowingly sacrificing thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands or millions of lives to their short-term well-being.  For them, it is mere politics as usual.

"But in front of Congress, thousands of citizens gathered to express their outrage and hear from a list of fabulous conservative patriots.  There were great lines from many speakers.  Senator Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, Mark Levin, Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck were there. Some of the lesser known speakers were amazing.

"The standouts for me were the lead speakers,  Mark Levin, Senator Cruz, and Donald Trump.

"Michele Bachmann was an unexpected standout.  She alone called for both a legislation and military alternative to what I call the Obama-Iran Treaty." . . .

death to america iran rally sign“They chant ‘death to America’ 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and we ought to take them at their word.”  At the anti-Obama/Iran deal rally:
. . . "The crowd, for the most part, was focused on protesting not only the specific Iranian nuclear deal, but the path down which Obama’s foreign policy has taken us. 100% of the attendees I talked to see the deal as one more foolish, stupid, naive move by the Obama Administration. For most, opposition was apolitical; I spoke to many people who were grateful for the protest votes of Chuck Schumer and other Democrats, even if those announcements came too little and too late to give the White House pause.

"These signs were floating around everywhere, and for the most part sum up the mood in the crowd:" . . .

As I walked through the crowd, I saw enormous support not just for our own congress critters voicing opposition to the deal, but for our allies in Israel who have spoken out against doing business with Iran. I talked to several activists who were concerned about the growing divide between the United States and Israel; some expressed doubt as to whether or not the alliance could ever repair itself if Obama and the Democrats manage to get this deal shoved through Congress.

And you thought "Cold Justice" was just another lady cop show

Father convicted of his wife's murder EIGHT YEARS after she disappeared from their home because TV show Cold Justice reviewed the case

During the initial investigation, Goraya told officers his wife might have run away with another man, before changing his story, saying she had gone to New York, California, and as far afield as Ireland

. . . "Another concerning development came weeks later, when Goraya gave their son over to child protective services, despite Rupinder's relatives saying she loved the boy and would never have allowed it if she was intending to return home.
"While detectives never bought any of Goraya's stories, they also couldn't find any evidence that Rupinder had been harmed, so they couldn't charge him over the disappearance.
"However, when going back over the evidence, the Cold Justice team found multiple people who Goraya had confessed to killing his wife to.
"Neighbors reported Goraya threatening them while drunk, telling them that he could 'make them disappear like my wife'.
"Another witness, Chris Justice, said Goraya told him that he strangled his wife because 'she talked too much and lied to him'.
"Goraya was arrested back in January charged with second degree murder, and was today found guilty after trial." . . .

Galen Institute: ObamaCare co-ops

ObamaCare Co-ops: Cause Célèbre or Costly Conundrum? August 31, 2015
"The Affordable Care Act created a new kind of “cooperative” health insurance arrangement heralded by supporters of health reform.  The co-ops were founded on the idealistic belief that community members could band together to create health insurance companies that would be member-driven, service-oriented, and would not have to answer to shareholders or turn a profit.

"But the 23 co-ops that were created had significant start-up costs, no experiential data upon which to set premiums, generally had to pay extra to lease physician and hospital networks, and had few people in the companies and none on their boards with insurance experience.

"This paper will take a deeper look at co-ops in Iowa, Kentucky, Tennessee, and other states that reveal their precarious financial condition.

Ann Coulter on the Muslim invasion of Western nations

ItalyInvasion

"Among the benefits of Donald Trump's proposed immigration moratorium is that we won't have to keep importing hordes of Third World "refugees," such as the ones currently swarming across Europe.

"For decades, the United States has taken in
far more refugees than the entire rest of the world combined
. Nearly half of the refugees we take in are Muslim.

 "And it's worked out great!

"Fazliddin Kurbanov, or "Idaho man," as he is dutifully described in the American media, was brought to the U.S. as a refugee in 2009, joining hundreds of other Uzbeks in Boise, Idaho. He came with his wife and young child, his sister and his two ailing parents. (What an economic powerhouse that family must be. Marco Rubio is right: We're making all kinds of money off of immigrants!)

"   So grateful was Kurbanov to America for rescuing his entire family from "persecution" that he spent the next few years conspiring to commit jihad against us.

"  As he cheerfully told his terrorist buddies back in Uzbekistan: "We are the closest ones to infidels. We have almost everything. What would you say if, with the help of God, we implement a martyrdom act? ... There are military installations right here, targets, and vehicles are available as well." . . .

Obama at the Gates of Vienna  "Yes, of course ISIS is Islamic. "

" . . .Harris makes a point of saying: “In drawing a connection between the doctrine of Islam and jihadist violence, I am talking about ideas and their consequences, not about 1.5 billion nominal Muslims, many of whom do not take their religion very seriously. However, he goes on to point out that:
a belief in martyrdom, a hatred of infidels, and a commitment to violent jihad are not fringe phenomena in the Muslim world. These preoccupations are supported by the Koran and numerous hadith. That is why the popular Saudi cleric Mohammed Al-Areefi sounds like the ISIS army chaplain. The man has 9.5 million followers on Twitter (twice as many as Pope Francis has). If you can find an important distinction between the faith he preaches and that which motivates the savagery of ISIS, you should probably consult a neurologist.
Understanding and criticizing the doctrine of Islam — and finding some way to inspire Muslims to reform it — is one of the most important challenges the civilized world now faces. But the task isn’t as simple as discrediting the false doctrines of Muslim “extremists,” because most of their views are not false by the light of scripture. A hatred of infidels is arguably the central message of the Koran. The reality of martyrdom and the sanctity of armed jihad are about as controversial under Islam as the resurrection of Jesus is under Christianity. It is not an accident that millions of Muslims recite the shahadah or make pilgrimage to Mecca. Neither is it an accident that horrific footage of infidels and apostates being decapitated has become a popular form of pornography throughout the Muslim world. Each of these practices, including this ghastly method of murder, find explicit support in scripture.
. . .
" . . .What Hitchens left out is the chilling demand that Mehmet IV, the Sultan of the Islamic Ottoman Empire, made of Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I:
Primarily we order You to await Us in Your residence city of Vienna so that We can decapitate You.…We will exterminate You and all Your followers.…Children and grown-ups will be exposed to the most atrocious tortures before put to an end in the most ignominious way imaginable…
Background:  Battle of Vienna * The battle took place in 1683....on September 11
We will yet see if hordes of Muslim immigrants make Vienna their destination.

*Not to be confused with the siege of Vienna in 1485

The original 1944 movie of the Memphis Belle

Memphis Belle, the bomber
Memphis Belle is the nickname of a Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress during the Second World War that inspired the making of two motion pictures: a 1944 documentary film, Memphis Belle: A Story of a Flying Fortress, and a 1990 Hollywood feature film, Memphis Belle. The aircraft was one of the first B-17 United States Army Air Forces heavy bombers to complete 25 combat missions with her crew intact.[1] The aircraft and crew then returned to the United States to sell war bonds.[2] As of 2014, the aircraft is undergoing extensive restoration at the National Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio.
More at the link.

Some comments from the YouTube link:
The video title is wrong. The Memphis Belle completed its 25th mission in 1943. Anyway I love the Memphis Belle. My favourite B17 ever!
This is original footage of the Memphis Belle's last mission so it can't be made in 1944 unless you mean it was shown in 1944.

+WarBird Productions yes the final mission of the belle was 1943 but the documentary was made in 1944 so the video title is not wrong

Obama Surrogates SPEARHEADING “War On Cops.” What’s Their Real Agenda?

"WHEN Senator Obama catapulted (seemingly) out of nowhere into the White House, he promised to “heal the racial divide”, over and over again. Yet, it was at a time when blacks were enjoying steadily increased upward mobility, some even more so than whites. Yes, there are enumerable poor whites too!

"THE question dawned to some of us “knuckle-draggers”: What “wrongs needed to be righted”, when so many advancements for blacks – particularly, its growing middle class – were visible, other than those whipped up by professional race-baiters who are perpetually aggrieved, hyper-charged and highly paid hucksters? Always at the ready, they have many thousands of foot soldiers on tap. To what end? Wait. Read." . . .

BLM activists seen standing on U.S. flags.

"In a video posted to YouTube on Tuesday, a Black Lives Matter activist declares that it’s now “open season” for killing white people and police officers. Showing an image of black people standing on the U.S. flag, the host of the BlogTalkRadio program talks about “picking off” police officers.

“ 'And,” the host says, “there’s nothing” that white people can do about it. “His day is up,” the unidentified host adds, speaking of white people." . . .

Bergdahl faces “Misbehavior before the enemy” charge

Bowe Bergdahl to Face Rare Military Charge

"Since his return to the U.S. in 2014, there’s been much speculation over which charges (if any) Bowe Bergdahl, alleged military deserter and former Taliban captive, would have to face. Tough criticism came from some of his fellow servicemen who believe Bergdahl is a deserter.
"A new report from the Associated Press via the Houston Chronicle says that Bergdahl will face one charge that’s extremely rare:
Military selects rarely used charge for Bergdahl case
Military prosecutors have reached into a section of military law seldom used since World War II in the politically fraught case against Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the soldier held prisoner for years by the Taliban after leaving his post in Afghanistan.
Observers wondered for months if Bergdahl would be charged with desertion after the deal brokered by the U.S. to bring him home. He was — but he was also charged with misbehavior before the enemy, a much rarer offense that carries a stiffer potential penalty in this case.
“I’ve never seen it charged,” Walter Huffman, a retired major general who served as the Army’s top lawyer, said of the misbehavior charge. “It’s not something you find in common everyday practice in the military.”

Bergdahl could face a life sentence if convicted of the charge, which accuses him of endangering fellow soldiers when he “left without authority; and wrongfully caused search and recovery operations.”

Discussing Obama's role in the time bomb that is the refugee problem

The Muslim world may do with unarmed hordes what they could not do with the sword, TD

"And then there is the matter of so much hysteria over Syrian refugees when Christians persecuted in Iraq and elsewhere in the Middle East have been refused entry to the United States. Where has been our outrage and where has been the world’s commitment to make sure they are given safe haven in the West? (See here, here, here, and here.)

Expediting National Suicide with 'Refugees'  "Should the United States take in (even more) Syrian refugees?
"No. "And here’s why. "We have already committed to accepting thousands of Syrians over the course of the next five years.  So the decision to bring Syrians to our country is not one merely being debated, it is, regrettably, already well underway. "(It is regrettable to have to say “regrettably” when talking about this, but Muslims pose a unique threat to free people everywhere.) "By the end of 2016, the State Department anticipates we will have brought as many as 10,000 Syrians to the United States. It’s safe to assume that number is low since just last month the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) submitted the names of more than 16,000 refugees from Syria for resettlement in the United States. Either way, this is just the beginning. The State Department expects the numbers to “surge” over the few years. "Numbers aside, the issue of Syrian refugees must be put into a larger context. (And, just for the record, the word refugees really should be put in quotes, as will be explained later.) "First, everyone must ask why so many Islamic nations are refusing these refugees. "Breitbart reports:" . . . Read More

The President Would Rather Not Talk about the Roots of the Refugee Crisis
. . . " The past, as well as the future, casts its shadow over the current refugee crisis. It may be no accident that
"President Obama is up in Alaska, talking about changing the name of Mount McKinley, while this massive human tragedy is unfolding in the Middle East and in Europe.
"Barack Obama’s decision to pull American troops out of Iraq, with happy talk about how he was ending a war, turned out to be a bitter mockery when the policy in fact opened the doors to new wars with unspeakable horrors in the present and incalculable consequences for the future.
"The glib rhetoric that accompanied the pullout of American troops from Iraq was displayed once again when the rise of ISIS was dismissed as just a junior-varsity team trying to look like a serious threat. But now that ISIS controls a big chunk of Iraq and a big chunk of Syria, it is the Obama foreign policy that looks like the work of a junior-varsity team." . . .

Uncle Sam says you better eat your lunch.

Father Government’s Multimillion Dollar Plan to Trick Kids Into Eating School Lunches   " . . .The U.S.D.A. wants to trick your kids into eating school lunches and have come up with some ideas. They could put these ideas in a memo and send it to schools but have instead decided to set up training programs at great expense. Why do with a memo what you can spend millions to do?

"Don’t take this wrong, kids need to eat healthy and good ideas are welcomed but why is it when Big Government does it, it’s an expensive failure?

"CNS News reported that government employees now outnumber those employed in manufacturing by 1.8 to 1 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It’s good news for unions but it’s not good for America.

"Government gives us unfettered Big Government control and employees who are virtually unaccountable. Speaking of unaccountable employees, the Agriculture Secretary is spending tax dollars on trying to control what our children eat. They mean well but they don’t know what they are doing.

"They have added fruits and vegetables to the processed school lunches and eliminated deserts and other foods children enjoy. A lot more of the lunches are ending up in the trash." . . .

"Scott Walker is no stranger to political challengers or an adversarial press.

"But what does it do to Walker’s national political aspirations when a homegrown reporter who once signed a petition to recall the Governor, happens to be covering his presidential bid for a nationally circulated paper?

"Tuesday, The American Mirror reported Gannett reporter Madeleine Behr, political writer for USA Today, signed a petition to recall Walker in 2011.

Iran’s Khamenei to Israel: ‘You will not see next 25 years’

. . . "On Wednesday, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei  threatened the destruction of Israel, no doubt secure in the knowledge that his good buddy, Barack Hussein Obama, will give him a $100 billion windfall.
