Amid a heat wave, warnings were sent out not to recharge electric vehicles during peak hours.
"A massive heatwave has come to California, so citizens of the Golden State may beenduring triple-digit temperatures for a week. The pressure the heat will throw onto the state's power grid has prompted an emergency call for citizens to reduce electricity use during peak early evening hours. Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom hasdeclared a state of emergencythat temporarily eases some state regulations limiting operations of thermal power plants and portable generators.
"Though it is true that such a ban will reduce emissions, switching to electric vehicles will over time dramatically increase the strain on California's power grid. If everybody in California went out and bought electric vehicles tomorrow, it would probably be an energy disaster.
"That's probably not going to happen for a few reasons. California solely plans to ban sales, not all operation of gasoline-powered cars. Millions of Californians won't and probably can't afford to transition to electric vehicles within the next 13 years. Though California has the most electric vehicles registered of any state (550,000), that's out of more than 14 million total vehicles, so still a drop in the bucket.
"In that sense, the slow-but-steady adoption of electric vehicles should give the state the opportunity to actually plan for an increase in energy demand. On Wednesday, lawmakers voted tokeep the nuclear power plant, Diablo Canyon, openuntil at least 2030. It had been scheduled to be decommissioned by 2025.". . .

American Thinker. . ."The original objectives of the Civil Rights Movement and the soaring rhetoric of Martin Luther King, Jr. in August of 1963 awakened nearly every American. Thereafter, citizens of all races and creeds joined in the battle to permanently erase the stain of institutional racism from American society. Within less than 18 months, legislation was passed protecting the voting and civil rights of all citizens regardless of race, ethnicity or creed.
"However, in the mid-to-late 1960’s much of the Civil Rights Movement was hijacked by the radical left and their Marxist allies in black militant groups in order to legitimize and mainstream their anti-American Marxist movement. They did so by infiltrating the leadership and organizing demonstrations and militant marches. Both factions espoused the overthrow of American society using supposed irredeemable American racism as the primary tool of revolution. They soon realized the power of the racism accusation in a society determined to rid itself of the stain of institutional racism. A plurality of the citizenry unwilling to condemn their tactics due to manufactured guilt for the past paved their path to power.
"It became clear to the radical left that revolution in the United States would not be accomplished by the centuries-old tactic of class warfare but in unending racial politics. That’s why they unceasingly instigated racial animosity, a tactic eventually given governmental imprimatur by Barack Obama. The result: a society torn asunder by never-ending racial demagoguery. But Abston refused to tell police what he had done with Fletcher. On Tuesday, police announced they’d found her body. Big story, right? MSNBC cut away from the press conference on this abduction-murder about four minutes in. The New York Times put the story on page A-20.
Ann Coulter"The country is experiencing an historic surge in violent crime, and the link between Democratic policies and the crime wave is more firmly established than the law of gravity.
"Republicans — are you guys awake?
"This week, the Democrats and their auxiliary staff in the media gave less attention to the grisly kidnapping and murder of Eliza Fletcher than they did to two black girls allegedly snubbed by a performer in a Muppet costume a couple of months ago.
Fletcher, a 34-year-old hardware heiress, kindergarten teacher and married mother of two, was out for an early morning run near the University of Memphis campus on Friday when a 38-year-old career criminal, Cleotha Abston, leapt out of his SUV and dragged her, kicking and screaming, into the passenger side of his vehicle.
Based on copious evidence, including video and DNA, police arrested Abston almost immediately. His career highlights include a lengthy juvenile record: theft, aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a weapon and rape — as well as the violent kidnapping of a prominent attorney, whom he drove around in the trunk of his car for hours, looking for ATMs.
"But Abston refused to tell police what he had done with Fletcher.
"On Tuesday, police announced they’d found her body. Big story, right? MSNBC cut away from the press conference on this abduction-murder about four minutes in. The New York Times put the story on page A-20.
"The old media motto “If it bleeds, it leads” has been replaced with “No stories that would make black people — or more to the point, white liberals — feel uncomfortable.” Fletcher, you see, was white, and Abston — well, as the black police officer said to my friend reporting a violent assault, “Black, right?”
"Given that Memphis has recently elected a Soros-style Democratic district attorney, the kidnapper will probably be back on the street before the hapless Muppet impersonator is employable again.". . .
Election Denier Jamie Raskin Says Denying Election Results Is Fascism – Def-Con News (defconnews.com)"Democrat Jamie Raskin is on the J6 Committee, which is trying to prove that by denying the results of the 2020 election, Donald Trump is guilty of fomenting a “deadly insurrection.” Raskin has stated that denying any election results is a hallmark of fascism. In related news, Raskin has denied election results.
"In defense Joe Biden’s MAGA hate speech last week, Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin went on “Face the Nation” to outline what he called the, “two of the hallmarks of a fascist political party.”
“ 'One, they don’t accept the results of elections that don’t go their way, and two, they embrace political violence. And I think that’s why President Biden was right to sound the alarm this week about these continuing attacks on our constitutional order from the outside by Donald Trump and his movement,” said Raskin.
"According to Raskin’s rules, if a political party doesn’t accept the results of elections that don’t go their way and embraces political violence, that party is fascist.
"Democrats not only embraced but also encouraged the Summer of Floyd riots as well as political violence against conservative Supreme Court Justices for striking down Roe v. Wade. They definitely check off that box. As for denying elections, here’s Raskin in 2017 attempting to delegitimize President Trump’s victory:". . .
Townhall "Since President Joe Biden gave his angry, divisive screed against roughly half the country for
supporting former President Donald Trump in some capacity, the White House speechwriters have
not toned down the commander in chief's rhetoric in subsequent speeches around the country.
"That strategy, according to U.S. Senator John Kennedy, is just "star-spangled stupid."
" 'I don't understand our president," the Republican from Louisiana explained. "Here's the situation
as I see it. According to the polls, President Biden is about as popular as scurvy," Kennedy quipped.
"Now, the reason is no mystery: the president seems to have a blind spot for the lives and concerns
of ordinary Americans."
"Ordinary Americans are worried about their jobs, and inflation, and their crashing 401(K)s, crime,
their kids' education, and whether their teenager is going to die from fentanyl poisoning," Kennedy
explained of the litany of challenges facing the American people under President Biden's policies.
" 'President Biden never talks about those things. Instead, he seems more concerned with genderneutral pronouns and whether he's winning the war against oil production in America," Kennedy
continued.
"Recently, as you pointed out, the president has adopted a new tactic," Kennedy said of Biden's
angry speech in Philly and attempts to demonize Americans who don't agree with his agenda.
"Instead of trying to solve the problems of the American people, he has decided that he is going to
try to convince the American people to hate Republicans more than the American people hate
President Biden," said Kennedy. "It's an interesting approach" that has "just one problem,"
according to Kennedy.". . .
"The president's new tactic is star-spangled stupid. I don't know, maybe the White House should call Will Smith over and ask him to slap some sense into the teleprompter or something." –@SenJohnKennedypic.twitter.com/R7IPV8h9it
Sharyl Attkisson"The federal government is continuing to spend billions of taxpayer dollars to promote electric vehicles, but most Americans still view them as impractical.
"That's according to Rasmussen Reports.
"The polling shows only 28% of American adults think electric cars are practical for most drivers.
"Fifty-four percent (54%) say they think electric cars are not practical, while 18% say they are not sure.
"The findings have changed very little from March.
"The Department of Transportation plans to spend nearly $5 billion in taxpayer money over five years to help states create a network of electric vehicle charging stations. In the past, the government has spent tens of billions of dollars promoting electric cars.
"However, 69% of Americans say they believe it is likely that most cars will still run primarily on gasoline a decade from now, including 37% who say it is "very likely" gasoline-powered automobiles will still be the norm in 10 years.
"Only 23% consider it "unlikely" that most cars will still be powered by gasoline in 2032.
Monica Showalter; American Thinker"Joe Biden has made his obsession with President Trump known, most recently through his hellishly lit Mussolini-meltdown speech at Independence Hall in Philadelphia last week, manically painting Trump and all his voters as "threats to the republic.". . .
"He may be doddering and insentient, but he still burns bright against his potential opponent in the 2024 presidential race, which even Democrats don't want him to get involved with. On Trump, Biden's as obsessed with Trump as Stalin was with Trotsky.
. . ."So it comes to light that not only has Biden tried to smear Trump as a danger to democracy and "threat to the republic," in a sorry public relations campaign that isn't working, he's also trying to eliminate President Trump from the entire 2024 presidential race by probably the gamiest maneuvers ever played by a politician in U.S. history.
"It turns out that Biden was behind the raid on Trump's home in Mar-a-Lago on August 4.
. . ."What we have here is evidence that the raid was more political than anyone recognized. We saw the outlines of it, based on Joe's history, but now we see the proof. Thank goodness there is one honest judge whose interest in fairness and truth is all it has taken to expose Joe and the sleazy, dishonest, political game he's playing."
" During the 2020 campaign, Joe Biden promised: ““No more drilling on federal lands, no more drilling including offshore—no ability for the oil industry to continue to drill—period.” No matter the consequences for pump prices and American independence from foreign fuel suppliers apparently.
"This is one promise Biden has kept. The Wall Street Journalreports today:
WASHINGTON—The Biden administration has leased fewer acres for oil-and-gas drilling offshore and on federal land than any other administration in its early stages dating back to the end of World War II, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis.
President Biden’s Interior Department leased 126,228 acres for drilling through Aug. 20, his first 19 months in office, the analysis found. No other president since Richard Nixon in 1969-70 leased out fewer than 4.4 million acres at this stage in his first term.
American Thinker"If there is anything that has advanced American society, you can be sure that ‘woke’ leftists will destroy it. So it is with Title IX – a one-sentence statute of the Education Amendments of 1972 that ended sex-based discrimination in educational institutions, opened the doors for women aspiring to become doctors, engineers, or experts in any field of choice, brought parity to college sports, and launched the battle against sexual harassment. In this fiftieth year of that landmark law, the Biden administration wants to rewrite it to suit the radical leftist ideology of gender identity and fluidity.
"This is dangerous because it codifies the spreading gender derangement of the left. Worse, it will immerse young minds in learning environments that condition them to believe, without critical thinking, that the biological idea of sex is false. It will unleash other complications as well.
"Already, Americans are suffering the tyranny of ‘woke’ ideology. We have reached the abyss in which some people can’t (or won’t) define what a man or a woman is. Girls are forced to share private spaces with biological males. Teachers are cancelled or fired for using the wrong pronouns. Schools are hiding their curricula from the public and parents, who they think might object. Sadly, the insanity extends to parents losing custody of their children for opposing capriciously imposed (and dangerous) gender transitions. The codification of ‘woke’ gender will only cause the unending stream of such cases to proliferate.". . .
