California’s governor Gavin Newsom has just seen his future presidential chances go up in flames.    "The massive fires burning his state can be linked directly to his lack of action. Trump tried to warn him, but apparently Newsom is like Biden—he is a radical environmentalist who will intentionally sacrifice citizens and their property to the alter of ‘climate change.’ Gavin refused to clean up detritus on forest floors and another major fire was predictable.

"Newsom and his far-left comrades have torn down dams and refused to build new reservoirs in 20 years. They allow water to drain into the coast in order to help swamps and a smelt—the latter being a small fish that is not on the endangered species list. When we lived in Washington State, there was plenty of smelt. Gavin cares more about fish than human beings. LA firefighting equipment was also sent to Ukraine. Ukraine also got another $500 million from President Biden because Ukraine always comes first.

"California citizens are gouged when it comes to taxes and they do not receive services in return. Many of California’s fire departments are more interested in DEI than dousing fires and when they do show up there is no water coming from fire hydrants. Where is all the taxpayer money going? To the homeless problem that gets worse the more Gavin throws money at it and illegal aliens who enjoy California’s sanctuary cities. More money is wasted on expensive rail systems that are never completed, which indicates kickbacks to corrupt politicians.

"Newsom is an arrogant globalist who considers himself above the law—even those laws he creates.. He insisted on masks, lockdowns, and social distancing during the Covid years, but he was shown at a party with many of his elite friends—laughing, eating, and drinking. No masks were present." . . .

It also underscored his administration’s close ties to the rulers of the oil-rich Gulf states as his eponymous real estate company has pursued deals across the region as well.

"The comments from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, reported early Thursday by the state-run Saudi Press Agency, came in a phone call with Trump. It marked Trump’s first call with a foreign leader since his inauguration Monday.“The crown prince affirmed the kingdom’s intention to broaden its investments and trade with the United States over the next four years, in the amount of $600 billion, and potentially beyond that,” the report said.

California’s Gavin Newsom is certainly that, but he’s also badly out of touch and has no understanding of the dynamics of an emergency situation, either.

"There’s the analogy of the mayor. Karen Bass was in Ghana when the fires first broke out, and when she returned, it was clear Los Angeles’s emergency management wouldn’t really profit from her presence. That isn’t so different from the performance of New Orleans’s Ray Nagin, who camped out in a suite at the Hyatt Regency Hotel next door to the Superdome and ran up a massive food and drink tab while doing rambling interviews with CNN as his constituents turned into a mishmash of refugees and looters.

"George W. Bush was castigated as an out-of-touch president as the levees broke after Katrina, and perhaps that was true. "The bishop had no right to abuse her position in the church and hijack a prayer service with a political message. By mentioning only working-class illegal migrants, she is attempting to imply that this is about class and that Trump is persecuting the less fortunate. It also reveals her outlook when she assumes that illegal aliens can only be dishwashers and such. But illegal aliens could be wealthy and hold white-collar jobs.
