That “syndrome” was defined by Krauthammer as “the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency—nay—the very existence of”––in 2015 and beyond, Donald Trump.

"In fact, Krauthammer, in an op-ed, commented that—in addition to general hysteria about Trump—the “Trump Derangement Syndrome” was the “inability to distinguish between legitimate policy differences and … signs of psychic pathology.”

"But the insanity didn’t last long when all those LLPs realized that they themselves had three immensely powerful weapons against candidate Trump.

"The first was ACORN (Association Of Community Organizations For Reform Now), which admitted to voter fraud in 2010 and went to prison, but upon release reorganized, changed their name, and by 2015 were back in the vote-rigging business.

"The second powerful weapon in their Get-Trump toolbox was the leftist mainstream media, a media that once lionized Donald Trump, featured his beauteous former-model wife on the covers of prestigious fashion magazines, and thanked him copiously for his tremendous contributions to New York City, including for the long-forsaken Wollman ice-skating rink.

"Earlier this week, we reported that of the 20 most dangerous cities in the country – measured by their homicide rates in 2024 – only one had a Republican mayor. We were shocked by this finding.

"So, we decided to look at the other end of the spectrum. What are the political affiliations of the mayors in the safest cities in the country?

"Here’s what we found.

"Many cities have nonpartisan elections, but of the 20 safest cities in the country, just five have mayors who are affiliated with or supported by Democrats.

"Well, you might dismiss this as simply the result of these being relatively small cities. And it’s true that these are on the small side.

"But small size doesn’t necessarily make a city safer. Among the cities with the highest homicide rates are St. Louis, which has a population of just over 277,000; the Richmond, Va., population is 231,000; Montgomery, Ala., has 193,000; and Shreveport, La., 175,000. Dayton, Ohio, with a population almost exactly the same as Orange, Calif., has a homicide rate of 29.7 per 100,000 residents.

"On the other hand, San Diego, which has a population of 1.4 million, has a homicide rate of just 2.52 – well below the national average and almost a third of Los Angeles. San Diego has also seen voters put results over ideology – it’s had four Republican and five Democratic mayors since 1992.

"In Chicago specifically, the riot there — per Wikipedia — “left 11 Chicago citizens dead, 48 wounded by police gunfire, 90 policemen injured, and 2,150 people arrested.”

"Chicago has a history of facing crime on its streets. And right this minute, Chicago’s crime problems are making headlines again. Take this headline from the Chicago Sun-Times: “9 killed, 52 wounded over Labor Day weekend, most violent holiday weekend of summer,” with the subtitle, “As President Donald Trump threatens to send the National Guard into Chicago to quell violence, violence surged, with 16 people wounded over the weekend in three mass shootings. What Happened To Tucker?

"The topics centered around Israel and the rise of certain influencers – most prominently Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens – who are obsessed with demonizing Israel in different ways. I haven’t talk much on the website about those topics, but I’ve been pretty vocal on X about the malign influence of Tucker (I don’t really comment much on Candace). I guess it’s because he’s turned out not to be the person I thought he was. After leaving Fox News, he has done more to normalize Jew-hatred and bring it into the MAGA movement through the “woke right” than any other major ‘conservative’ personality.

"I didn’t expect this. As readers know, I was on Tucker’s show many times when he was on Fox, and I appreciated the attention he brought to our work. When he was fired, I wrote Thank You, Tucker: “You are not alone. We are with you.”

Put aside the many times Tucker had me on his show to highlight the work we were doing at Legal Insurrection (including here, here, here, here, here, here. here, here, and here).

He did something few other hosts do – he gave voice to the voiceless, to people suffering under the weight of local left-wing pressure, including several parents and teachers we brought forward on the Legal Insurrection website. While appearing on any of the major Fox News shows was good exposure, appearing on Tucker was a launching pad to national stardom….

Tucker will come back, bigger and better, I’m convinced of it.
