The Confederated Counties of America – What say you?

The Postil Magazine

"Could a localized economy and military protect itself from invasion? Not as well as our current system, but fear is a prime motivator for politicians and the modern state, stirred up to scare their population into supporting more government authority, increased taxation, and building up a military. In other words, the threat of an invasion of American soil is exaggerated both today and in this hypothetical proposal.

"Since Lincoln’s time, Americans have not experienced a government that is truly of and by the people—one based on consent and choice. Instead, we have faced a top-down government characterized by forced obedience and federal supremacy; a system that is destructive to the principles of self-government and replaces them with centralized bureaucracies that increasingly abuse their power, become more entrenched, and exploit ordinary citizens. Attempting to work within the system of national parties will never get us anywhere if we desire self-government. We must flip the system on its head, and cannot fight their way on their chosen field under their assumptions; we must change tactics. We must abolish the great political evils of our day, centralization and national political parties. This can only work by empowering local leaders to resist top-down enforced conformity and oppression.

"I would like to present an “end goal” and a political scenario that could restore self-governance to Americans and undo the evils ingrained in our original system and imposed on us by Lincoln and all those who came after.

Restore States’ Rights?

"I have been a big advocate for decentralized power, which in our American context has been connected to “states’ rights.” Giving choice back to the people of the states, and allowing them to decide their own affairs rather than having decisions imposed at the federal level, is always a good thing. But it no longer carries the same meaning and purpose or brings the same results as it once did. The early American colonies, and later the states, had similar religion, culture, and thus politics. Each state was made up of largely coherent blocs of like-minded people. Today the states have become much more diverse. Changes in politics, culture, racial demographics, beliefs and far more besides have caused a rupture in the localized “old-fashioned” way of life that kept coalitions of similar people together. People now seek to “find themselves,” travel the country, leave for job opportunities elsewhere or go to college across the nation, and families are separated and displaced. The population drift and overall increase make managing these states as blocs of like-minded people impossible.

"Texas has a population of over 31 million people. The entire population of the United States at ratification of the Constitution was under three million! It took until the Civil War before the population of all the states together equaled that of Texas today. If we had told the people at the time of the ratification of the Constitution, or as the Civil War commenced, that 31 million people would be forced to live under the same state government, they would lock us up in an insane asylum. You cannot manage that many people under one state government." . . .  More...

These forgotten WWII photos showed thousands of German soldiers surrendering

  WW2 Wayfinder

"In the final days of World War II, photographer David Scherman captured a remarkable series of images in Siegsdorf, Bavaria, as American forces pushed through southern Germany. The photos showed American and German officers involved in the surrender process, along with huge columns of German prisoners being marched toward Salzburg after laying down their arms. More than eight decades later, a historian returned to the village and tracked down the exact locations where the photographs had been taken, including a distinctive building that had served as a butcher shop in 1945 and was still operating as one in 2026. By comparing wartime and prewar photographs with the modern landscape, he was able to recreate views that had remained surprisingly recognizable 81 years later."

Ed Sheeran Learns Hard Woke Lesson

"When the woke mob, which overlaps with the Pro-Palestinian types all too well, smells blood it only grows stronger"

  American Greatness

"Ignore them. Don’t feed them. And, for heaven’s sake, don’t ever apologize to them. Maybe next time he’ll realize the error of his ways."

Macklemore Concert | The American Spectator

"Woke One may have been “crazy,” but it did teach us two crucial lessons.

"One: You can never, ever be woke enough. Just ask progressive comic Amy Schumer, who made back-to-back comedies that got skewered by the woke mob—Snatched (2017) and I Feel Pretty (2018).

"Two? Never apologize. It only emboldens the mob. Roseanne Barr swiftly apologized after her racially charged tweet mocking Valerie Jarrett in 2018. ABC fired her anyway and killed off her character on a show she created back in the late 1980s.

"Apology definitely not accepted.

"So you can’t say Ed Sheeran didn’t see it coming. The pop superstar inexplicably hired Macklemore to open his current tour. The rapper quickly turned Sheeran’s stage into an anti-Israel screed, a pose that had nothing to do with Sheeran’s positive, apolitical brand.

"Macklemore didn’t care. So, when one of those screeds got Robert Kraft’s attention, the New England mogul directed Gillette Stadium, where the Sheeran tour was set to play, to block Macklemore from performing.

"'And, according to the rapper’s account, Kraft leaned on other venues to make the same demand.

"Now, Sheeran was stuck. He had to let Macklemore go, but he still felt the need to address the situation from his concert stage pulpit. So he two-sided it, blasting Hamas for Oct. 7 but spending far more time falsely suggesting Israel was committing genocide against the Palestinians.

"Sheeran’s attempt to Switzerland his way out of trouble only made things worse. The singer broke down in tears along the way, a move that only impressed Jimmy Kimmel.

"Now, an Irish radio station has banned his music, and the mostly peaceful pro-Palestinian mob has him in its sights. He lost his other opening acts as well as his backing band, which all joined Team Macklemore.

"And the blowback has only begun. He even lost Greta Thunberg!" . . . More.

Democrats Lust for Violence; "Political scientist: 2026 may be ‘most violent election in American history.’"

The American Spectator | USA News and Politics

"And it’s more than past time for Democrat leaders to stand up and say their party’s seeming lust for violence must come to a full stop. But don’t hold your breath."

Study: 44 Percent of Democrats OK With Violence to Stop Trump

. . . The news story reported:

A quarter of American adults — including 44 percent of self-identified Democrats — say they support the use of force to prevent President Donald Trump from being president, according to a new survey’s findings described by University of Chicago political scientist Robert Pape.

Pape is also warning that the 2026 midterm elections could produce a level of political violence not seen in the U.S. in decades — and, under a worst-case scenario, could become “the most violent election in American history.

Well now. What to make of this? A full 44 percent of Democrats standing up for what is, in effect, a violent coup to overthrow the elected president of the United States?

"So says this poll.

"Offhand — what’s new?

"The underreported fact of history is that the Democratic Party is, in fact, trailing a long record of political violence.

"Take a trip down history’s memory lane.

"A hard historical fact is that the Democratic Party in its beginning days was historically aligned with, yes, the Ku Klux Klan. Indeed, it was notable that prominent Democrats of the day were members of the routinely violent Klan. That list includes, but is not limited to:

  • Alabama U.S. Senator and later Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black
  • Mississippi U.S. Senator Theodore Bilbo
  • Georgia U.S. Senator Joseph Brown
  • West Virginia Senator and Senate Democrat Leader Robert Byrd

"The list goes on, with some 40 Democrat pols at the federal, state, and local levels officially recorded as having Klan ties. And again, the Klan was well known for its addiction to violence.

"But there was more to the Left and its addiction to violence.

"A look back at the 1960s and one finds that whether it was rioting leftists at the 1968 Democrat Convention in Chicago or young leftists rioting against the Vietnam War on various college campuses through the 60s and beyond, not to mention riots in Democrat urban strongholds like Newark, Detroit, and New York, the historical record shows an American Left addicted to violence when protesting for their cause of the moment. Why Do The Defenders Of Capitalism Never Have Any Money?

  Issues & Insights

Socialism, however, runs on greed, on the envy of another’s success, on covetousness and resentment. The organizing principle is to take, by force, if necessary, the property of producers and funnel it to the violent leaders who will hoard it for themselves.

"The political left seems to have unlimited funds to spread its poison. Meanwhile, promoting free markets and capitalism is almost always done on the cheap. It shouldn’t be this way. The individuals and businesses that have enjoyed the bountiful fruits of capitalism should generously support those who fight on the ground to keep government from choking the only arrangement that has produced widespread prosperity.

"The Democrats and their big tent of progressives, socialists, Marxists, Leninists and Maoists not only have infinite in-kind contributions from a friendly press, they are well funded by the wealthy who have chosen to subsidize virulent anti-capitalists. Think of George Soros. Reid Hoffman. Neville Roy Singham. Michael Bloomberg. Walmart heir Christy Walton. There are hundreds of other rich Americans who became wealthy through the blessings of capitalism, yet give large sums to politicians and organizations that intensely oppose the system that made it possible for them to succeed.

"There are some prominent financial supporters of capitalism — the Koch brothers, the Wilks brothers, the Mellons, Adelsons, Uihleins, as well as Elon Musk, Ken Griffin and Scott Banister, of whom we recently just became aware — who understand the importance of protecting capitalism from the vandals on the left. But there are too many capitalists who inexplicably don’t feel the need to fund the guardians of capitalism. Their donations could help offset the big money that finances politicians and groups whose goal is to kill the based-in-liberty system that allowed them to generate great wealth. They seem to not understand that if they don’t battle for what is theirs, it will be taken from them and their heirs.

"Yes, Republicans are spending heavily on the midterm elections. This is necessary to keep the left from accruing more political power, which it will use to ruin the great American experiment of liberty and economic freedom. But Republicans have not been reliable defenders of capitalism.

"From our experience, we’ve learned that defending capitalism through the intellectual and moral arguments made by nonprofits in Washington and elsewhere, and through media outlets, which know that without capitalism we are uncivilized louts, is a perpetual strain because there’s never enough money to fend off the left."  . . . More.

Ukraine Knows Mamdani's 'Warmth of Collectivism'

"To many New Yorkers—especially the largely carefree Gen Alpha and Gen Z kids born into wealth and abundance—these ideas about the “warmth of collectivism” may sound progressive, even TikTok-friendly. But as a Ukrainian, I would like to offer a bit of perspective on what this actually looks like in practice, because Ukraine has already experienced this so-called “warmth of collectivism.'”

“They Made Election Fraud Mandatory”: Elon Musk Explodes After His Mother Says a New York Poll Worker Knocked Her ID Away

 The Gateway Pundit

"Socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani floated ID requirements for his government grocery stores so people wouldn’t resell discounted food. President Trump’s response was the obvious one: they will check your papers to buy milk, but not to choose the people who run the country."

is criticizing New York’s voting rules after his mother, Maye Musk, said a woman at a polling place angrily knocked away the ID she offered while voting.
"Maye Musk, the 78-year-old model, dietitian, and author, was responding to a list of the 14 states that still refuse to require voter ID at the polls. Those states, as conservatives have noted for years, reliably deliver Democratic wins.
"“Definitely New York,” she wrote. “When I voted and showed my ID, the woman was angry and hit it away.” . . .  Full article here.

The math at the pump: Before you blame Trump, follow the damn barrel

"Iran matters, refiners matter, supply matters—and the price on that sign has more than one father."

George P. Brooks - American Thinker

"The next time somebody reduces all of that to a meme blaming one politician, ask them to do something apparently terrifying in modern political discourse: Show the entire math, not merely the number that helps your narrative."

"Gasoline has become one of America’s favorite political intelligence tests, because the moment the numbers on the sign change, half the country forgets how commodities work. Gas goes down and whichever president you like deserves a parade; gas goes up and whichever president you hate apparently crawled out of bed at four in the morning, drove to every Chevron in America and changed the numbers personally. It would almost be funny if ordinary Americans weren’t watching eighty dollars disappear into an SUV while television competes to provide the dumbest possible explanation.

"As of September 25, AAA puts the national average for regular gasoline around $4.49 per gallon, compared with roughly $3.16 a year ago. AAA identifies expensive crude oil and volatility surrounding the Strait of Hormuz as major pressures, while gasoline demand rose from 8.79 million to 8.84 million barrels per day, inventories fell from 207.7 million to 206 million barrels and gasoline production slipped slightly. Several variables are moving before Donald Trump’s name even enters the conversation.

"Iran and Hormuz absolutely matter. EIA says disruptions to petroleum flows through Hormuz contributed to higher and more volatile oil prices during 2026 while pushing international buyers toward alternative supplies and increasing U.S. refinery margins, production, and exports. The conflict can therefore hit gasoline twice: through crude prices and through global competition for finished petroleum products.

"What I reject is the lazy explanation that says, “There’s a war in Iran, therefore gas is expensive.” That is like explaining a hamburger’s price by showing me the cost of a cow while ignoring the slaughterhouse, trucking company, restaurant, taxes, labor, and the gentleman behind the counter who apparently believes adding bacon now requires financing.

"Crude is the raw material, not the finished product. EIA breaks gasoline prices into crude-oil costs, refining costs and profits, taxes, and distribution and marketing. Showing only a crude-oil chart is showing one chapter of the book and pretending you’ve read the ending." . . .   More.

AOC Gets Brutal News As She Test-Runs Senate Bid: She Is 'Rejected'

AOC ‘Crying’ Photo-Op Was at Mostly Empty Lot: Snopes Confirms

"Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) is getting major pushback from swing-state Democrats in the run-up to the 2026 midterm elections.

Their message? Please, just stay away.

Axios unleashed the nasty news and blasted it into the ether on Sunday night.

Democrats in some of this year's most critical congressional battlegrounds are sending a clear message to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: We don't want you to campaign for us.

Why it matters: If they continue, the snubs could hurt AOC's standing as a potential contender in the 2028 Democratic presidential primary, when many voters will prioritize electability.

AOC is currently testing the waters for a potential Senate bid, so this is not a great sign that she has enough mainstream appeal for the “big leagues.”

Axios reports that Democrats in some of the most important battleground races this fall are shunning Ocasio-Cortez, with party officials saying some candidates have explicitly asked her team to stay away. One senior Democrat strategist working in a key swing district was especially blunt.

"The polling is atrocious for her," the strategist told Axios. "She's a lightning rod."

Here is the background Axios gave on the recent developments:" . . . More.

There are many, many Democrats who support these men and what they did on that October 7th.

“They were all young women. Most in little clothing or shredded clothing and their bodies bloodied, particularly round their underwear, and some women shot many times in the face as if to mutilate them,” she said."

Massacre in Israel   "On October 7th, 2023, Hamas launched a brutal, pre-meditated assault on Israel. Without mercy or remorse, they murdered and kidnapped hundreds of innocent civilians, including the elderly, women, and children. They infiltrated peaceful towns, setting homes ablaze and subjecting families to the horrors of abduction, annihilation, and unfathomable variations of torture and cruelty.

"They continued their massacre to a vibrant music festival, claiming the lives of hundreds of individuals. What started as an event dedicated to peace, joy and music, turned into a death trap of terror.

"This website stands as a testament to the unwavering spirit of survivors who bear witness to the unspeakable terrors of October 7th. We pray for the safe return of our hostages, and keep in our hearts the hundreds of victims who did not survive to tell their story, may they rest in peace."

Public university commandeered Christian student groups while leaving Muslim group alone

Public university commandeered Christian student groups while leaving Muslim group alone, suit says | Just The News
Whenever a Christian student leader "wishes to plan a prayer night, fundraise, invite a fellow student to church, hold a pajama party in a residence hall, start a Bible study, or invite a guest speaker to a weekly meeting, that student must obtain the government’s stamp of approval," and Wynn can withhold it "with unbridled discretion."

"A  First Amendment lawsuit makes shocking allegations of state-controlled religion -- of the kind practiced by several states before and decades after the Constitution's ratification -- by America's first "fully state supported, four-year institution of higher learning" for black students.

"The government cannot prefer Muslim and secular groups over Christian groups, cannot dictate to Christian groups how to worship, and cannot strip Christian groups of benefits for what they believe and for what they say," the lawsuit against Virginia State University states.

"The historically black school, known for its long affiliation with the late "Cosby Show" actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner, banned Women of Victory and Bethel Campus Fellowship from affiliating with their national organizations and "absorbed" them into its own taxpayer-funded Campus Ministries, according to the suit.

"They are subject to the "governance and influence" of Campus Ministries under an Aug. 6 policy that strips "registered student organization" status from only student-led Christian groups and gives Campus Minister Thomas Wynn "complete discretion to approve or reject" all Christian groups' requests , even spontaneous prayer gatherings, the suit alleges.

"The new arrangement also puts Christian groups under a Board of Advisors including faculty, public safety, "facility quality assurance" and the president's deputy chief of staff, and it even bans the free shuttles from a local church for Sunday services, the lawsuit says.

The truth got Gored

Silvio Canto, Jr.

Remember all these lies the next time that some clown is slowing down traffic about climate change.

Barack and Michelle Obama's beachfront home

"They used to lie with statistics, but now they write books or make alarmist predictions about climate change. I’m so happy that I didn’t sell everything and look for a cave 1,000 miles from the ocean. The oceans didn’t rise and turn the coastal cities into lakes, and the Earth was not grilled out of existence by overwhelming heat.

"All we can do now is enjoy reading how Stephen Moore mocks the alarmists:

“It was 20 years ago that Al Gore's book "An Inconvenient Truth" was published, and ... well, it turns out that the truth was inconvenient -- for Al and his band of apocalyptics.

"Hang in there because Mr. Moore is only getting started:

“Claim: Kilimanjaro's snow would disappear within a decade.

Truth: The mountain still has ice/snow, although its glaciers have shrunk.

Claim: Glacier National Park's glaciers will disappear by 2020 or so.

Truth: No, they have not disappeared. Maybe his timing was just way off.

Claim: Sea levels could rise by about 20 feet.”

"Pure trash is all you can say about that.

"As someone who loves the environment and doesn’t alarm people like former VP Gore did, let me say that I’m delighted that the predictions turned out to be false. We need convenient truths, not all this crazy stuff about polar bears that scared little children." . . .
