How the USS Arizona Actually Blew Up at Pearl Harbor

Reported Aboard

"How did the USS Arizona explode? One bomb. Four decks. Five inches of armor. And somewhere below them, a room the Navy still can't agree on.

"At 8:06 on the morning of December 7, 1941, during the Pearl Harbor attack, an armor-piercing bomb built from a battleship shell hit the battleship USS Arizona beside her second turret. About seven seconds later came the forward magazine explosion that sank her. 1,177 men were killed, nearly half of all the Americans who died at Pearl Harbor. For more than eighty years, the Navy, the Park Service and historians have argued about the USS Arizona explosion, and what happened in those seven seconds. "The clues were never lost. They are in the Navy's own 1941 plans of the ship, where one small compartment between the forward turrets was lettered in capital letters. They are in the explosion footage filmed from the hospital ship Solace. And they are in the statements the survivors wrote within days: an ensign sent to seal the doors who met a man looking for the magazine keys, a radioman on the forecastle minutes before the bomb came down, and one plain sentence that still haunts the record. "In this documentary, we follow the bomb deck by deck, open the plans, weigh four answers to what went first, see the oil still leaking from the wreck today, and go down with the divers who found something on the wreck forty years later that no one expected." . . .

Anchor slips up and makes a telling admission while gleefully reporting midterm results

V. Saxena

Live Admission: While reporting on the blue-tsunami midterm results, Hunt said "us," implying personal alignment with Democrats' success.

" A CNN anchor with a history of left-wing bias seemed to make a telling slip-up live on television late Tuesday as Republicans were getting trounced in the devastating blue-tsunami midterm elections.

"CNN anchor Kasie Hunt made the slip-up while speaking on a small panel about the then-incoming election results. Hunt noted in her remarks that Republicans were getting crushed.

. . . "Hunt made it sound as if Democrats winning the 2026 midterm elections was something that she'd personally desired.

NewsBusters, a conservative site that tracks liberal media bias, called it a "mask-off moment" for her and CNN.

It would be easy to dismiss Hunt's slip-up as just a rhetorical mistake if it weren't for her extensive history of left-wing bias.

In 2019, while at MSNBC, she famously misidentified Democratic segregationists as Republicans while teasing a segment on then-presidential candidate Joe Biden's comments about working with segregationist senators James Eastland and Herman Talmadge.

She said that Biden had referenced "two former Republican colleagues."

Savannah Guthrie labeled 'unprofessional' and 'inappropriate' after she is heard reacting to Abdul El-Sayed's victory in hot-mic moment on NBC: 'Yikes'

"Others, however, quickly jumped to her defense. "Maybe she was just ready to go home and realized she still had hours to go," one user suggested. "Who knows what she was reacting to! I say UGH and OMG all day out loud while responding to my own thoughts no one else can hear!'"

Thank you, Haley Stevens, for refusing to stay silent

 MSN
Our community owes Haley Stevens its gratitude, and it should say so loudly. I would guess she is sleeping soundly these nights, knowing she never put her name behind a career built on hatred of the Jewish state.

"On Sunday morning, two days before Michigan voted, Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) walked into Perfecting Church in Detroit and took a seat beside Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers. She had been scheduled to attend a Detroit church service that same day with Abdul el Sayed, the man who narrowly beat her in the August Democratic primary, as a show of party unity. Instead, she was told she was no longer welcome. Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI), who helped organize the event, said she asked Stevens to stay away because the situation had become too distracting. A few hours later, Stevens announced she would back Rogers.

"The punishment arrived fast. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) called it a “despicable betrayal.” Her chief of staff resigned. The chairman of the Michigan Democratic Party said she was no longer a member. On Tuesday night el Sayed won, and he is now headed to the U.S. Senate. By the usual Washington arithmetic, Stevens lost everything, and plenty of commentators will spend the coming years describing her decision as a political blunder.

"I see it as one of the most morally correct acts I have watched an American politician perform in a very long time.

"Consider how differently the same people reacted two years ago. When Liz Cheney crossed party lines to campaign for Kamala Harris, Democrats were overjoyed. Harris praised the Cheneys for putting country above party, and former President Joe Biden said he had never been so proud. When a Democrat crossed the other way because she could no longer stomach her own party’s nominee, the language of courage disappeared overnight and was replaced with talk of treachery. Apparently conscience is admirable only when it travels in one direction." . . .

New Jersey Middle School Instructs Students Islam Is the “True Faith” – Thomas More Law Center Files Federal Lawsuit [Must See Video] - Thomas More Law Center

"ANN ARBOR, MI – The Thomas More Law Center (“TMLC”), a national nonprofit public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, filed a federal lawsuit yesterday evening in the New Jersey District Court against several officials and teachers of the Chatham Middle School and the School District of the Chathams, located in New Jersey.

"The lawsuit, claiming several violations of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, was filed on behalf of Libby Hilsenrath and her minor son. Seventh-grade students at Chatham Middle School were forced to endure Islamic propaganda and an explicit call to convert to Islam through a disturbing set of videos in their World Cultures and Geography class.

"TMLC’s affiliated New Jersey attorney, Michael Hrycak, filed the lawsuit. TMLC staff attorney, Kate Oliveri, the principle drafter of the federal complaint, observed: “The Board of Education and other Defendants are waging a war against the religious protections afforded by the First Amendment. They attack religious liberty by enticing young school children with a direct call to convert to Islam and providing a step-by-step guide on how to effect that conversion.”

"One of the videos, linked in this press release, seeks to convert students to Islam and is filled with the Islamic religious beliefs presented as facts, as well as pure Islamic propaganda.  This five-minute video ends with the prayer “May God help us all find the true faith, Islam. Ameen.”

This video includes the following phrases as facts:

  • “Allah is the one God who created the heavens and the earth, who has no equal and is all powerful.”
  • “Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is the last & final Messenger of God. God gave him the Noble Quran.”
  • “Lo, We have sent thee (O Muhammad) with the truth, a bringer of glad tidings and a warner.”
  • “What is the Noble Quran? Divine Revelation sent to Muhammad (S) last Prophet of Allah. A Perfect guide for Humanity.”
  • “The Noble Quran: Guidance, Mercy and Blessing for all Mankind.”
  • “The Noble Quran: Without any doubt and an eloquent guide from Allah.”
  • “The Beautiful Quran: Guidance for the wise & sensible.”
  • “Islam: A shining beacon against the darkness of repression, segregation, intolerance and racism . . .”      Click here to read the entire Federal Complaint

‘Lawyer Up’: Democrats Declare War on Trump Administration

"It didn’t take long for Democrats to aim their knives at President Donald Trump and his administration.

Bennie Thompson Warns DHS to Preserve Records as Democrats Prepare Investigations

. . . "Thompson will likely chair the Committee on Homeland Security when the Democrats take over in January. He currently serves as the Ranking Member.

"I remind you once again that many Democrats let everyone know they intend to investigate everyone in the Trump administration once we learned the party won the House majority.

Oh, look. ICE is first on his list of what the Democrats on the committee plan to tackle (emphasis his):

Did Stock Market Surge Mean Investors Love Dems And Socialism? No, But They Love Gridlock

 Issues & Insights

"Or extreme legislation reflecting the dangerously growing clout of socialism within the Democratic Party. Gridlock makes all of those things less of a threat, not more of one."

"Democrats have been giddy following the strong rise in the major U.S. stock market indexes the day after their blue wave crashed over Congress, giving them back control of both houses and leaving badly defeated Republicans as a demoralized minority. So do stock market investors like socialism? Hardly.

One thing is clear from this election: the Democratic Party mainly flies these days on its left wing. There are very few Democratic moderates and even fewer conservatives (if any) among Democrats. With its open embrace of the Democratic Socialists of America and its alliance with politically radical Islam, it is now all but in name a socialist party.

"But that isn’t what the stock market was applauding on Wednesday.

"OK, so why did the S&P500 Index gain 1.6%, the Dow 30 a whopping 3%, and the Nasdaq 1.4% the day after the Democrats shellacked the Republicans?

"Relax. The markets haven’t gone socialist. They are, as always, highly pragmatic.

"As we wrote just yesterday, “the only thing we know for sure is that for the next two years, Washington, D.C., will be in a state of gridlock while Democrats unleash a torrent of investigations, impeachments, and endless claims of corruption and wrongdoing.”

"Yes, “gridlock,” which is just another word for restoring lost political equilibrium through the ballot box.

"That’s why the market often does well after midterm elections. Midterm elections are usually a course correction for voters who feel angry or betrayed by a political party or a charismatic leader. And that can create a deeply divided government. Also known as gridlock.

"The truth is, markets like midterm elections because of this process, not despite it.

"President Donald Trump, after congratulating Democrats on their big victory, noted almost casually that he intends to veto Democratic bills he doesn’t like. No surprise there. A veto is a powerful thing: It takes two-thirds of both chambers of Congress to override one. That’s real gridlock.

"So regardless of what Democrats might want, unless they play ball with the now-minority Republicans in the House and Senate and with Trump, they’re unlikely to get it." . . . More.

The Meaning of the 2026 Election: Voters wanted affordability. Republicans gave them tariffs and unelectable candidates.

"At the state level, those states with a Republican legislature and governor can continue to reduce taxes and reform government to attract talent, investment (and electoral votes) from blue states to red states."

Chat GPT

"The next two years are not about passing legislation. They are for highlighting the costs and damage of Democrat proposals and focusing voters on the agenda available only if the GOP wins the House and Senate in 2028.
"On Tuesday, the Republican Party lost its majorities in the House and Senate, four Governorships, a dozen state legislative chambers including both houses in Arizona, New Hampshire, and Wisconsin, the Pennsylvania Senate, and the House in Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Alaska, and even Texas. This hands Democrats control of a majority of the nation’s legislative chambers and new trifectas in at least five states. Democrats now hold 51 chambers, up from 29 when Trump won in 2016.
"President Trump’s approval rating was 39 percent.
"If the Democrats elect a president in 2028, they can end the filibuster with a simple majority in the Senate and then proceed to add an unlimited number of states to the 50 we have now, add as many Supreme Court members as they wish, and organize immigration and naturalization laws to add as many voters as they wish from whatever nations they wish. (RELATED: Here Come the Court-Packing Democrats)
"Democrats can and will nationalize health care, ban independent contractors (as California has done), repeal Right to Work for all Americans, and impose the PRO Act that will force more workers to pay dues to unions that can then be recycled to the Democrat Party and its candidates.
"And Democrats will certainly impose a national property (“wealth”) tax on your home, your life savings, farms, and small businesses. They tried this in California this past week. They lost. But they want your money. They will be back.
"Tort laws will be “liberalized” to create more billionaire trial lawyers (read Democrat donors). And welfare will be targeted to Democrat voting blocs to free up their time to work for the “common good” — i.e., the various factions of the Takings Coalition that is the modern Democrat Party.
"America would become a one-party state for all intents and purposes.
"This future is not inevitable." . . . More.

We will kill Trump: Iran's giant billboard shows US President behind bars in Tehran

Philadelphia anti-Israel groups to stage ‘boycott ride’ past Jewish-owned restaurants on eve of Kristallnacht anniversary

Philadelphia anti-Israel groups are planning a bicycle ride targeting Jewish-owned businesses on the eve of the anniversary of Kristallnacht, the 1938 Nazi-orchestrated pogrom against Jews in Germany and Austria.

The “Boycott Ride,” organized by Philly Bike On Your Left in collaboration with Philly Writers Against the War on Gaza, Boycott CookNSolo and Philly Solidarity Calendar, is scheduled for Nov. 8 at 11:30 a.m. at Rittenhouse Square in the heart of Center City. A flier promoting the event states, “No business for Zionists,” adding, “These Zionist establishments must go.”

The flier names several Philadelphia businesses, including Dizengoff, a modern Israeli restaurant; Huda, a sandwich shop; Schlesinger’s Restaurant and Delicatessen, a Jewish deli; Mac Mart, a macaroni-and-cheese kiosk; K’Far Cafe, an Israeli cafe; and Goldie, a kosher falafel shop.

“Ride around Rittenhouse with us as we show these zio business owners that we see them for the disgusting humans they are,” organizers wrote.

"Meet Philadelphia cyclist Hara Aslav, who is organizing a boycott of the city's Jewish restaurants this Sunday (November 8). "The very next day marked the anniversary of Kristallnacht, when Nazi mobs smashed the windows of thousands of Jewish-owned businesses and looted their stores. "Absurd."

After the Temple Israel attack, the cameras left, but the hate remains - Israel & Jewish News - JNS . . ."On March 12, my 4-year-old daughter and her little brother, who was 2 at the time, were at their preschool at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Mich., when a terrorist drove a pickup truck loaded with 35 gallons of gasoline and thousands of dollars’ worth of commercial-grade fireworks through the main entrance.

"As he drove down the hallway, he fired an AR-15-style rifle into the classrooms. He struck the head of security with his truck, eventually getting the vehicle stuck a mere 30 feet from where a group of children was sheltered in the gym area. The security team engaged him as the truck caught fire and thick black smoke poured through the building.

"The terrorist did not survive. Every one of the 140 children and staff did, but they will never be the same." . . .

. . . "But we are still here. Our children are still here. And unfortunately, so is the hate. Whoever is elected on Nov. 3, we must do better.".  More.

The attack on SpaceX

Do they want to nationalize it to end Twitter or to end the space program again?"

Don Surber

"The reason for the loony move to stop our space program in the 1970s was to protect the Soviet Union from our domination. Now the Democrat objective is protecting Red China from competition. They want to buy SpaceX just to destroy it."

"Communist-in-conservative clothing Jonathan V. Last, editor of the Bulwark, has joined Munchkin Robert Reich, a former labor secretary, in calling for the nationalization of Space X." . . .
. . . "Last denies this is about Musk, writing, “we should divorce the person of Elon Musk from this conversation. Musk is a uniquely dangerous individual and the fact that he controls SpaceX increases the national security risks. But the risks would still exist no matter who controlled the company. Imagine a wise, beneficent trillionaire instead. If he controlled SpaceX outright, it would still be an unacceptable risk for America.”
"But Last is not calling for the nationalization of Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, or RTX (née Raytheon), all of which are much more vital to the defense of our nation.
"He is calling for nationalizing the company that owns Twitter. Musk bought it, renamed it X and made it part of SpaceX. That in hindsight was a genius move because any attempt to nationalize SpaceX now becomes a First Amendment issue.
"There is a Fifth Amendment issue as well—“nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.” Where will Congress find the $2 trillion to take Space X?
"Twitter may be the real target of their disaffection.
"When Musk bought Twitter, Last wrote, “For years I’ve tried arguing my friends off of Twitter. I’ve appealed to their intellects, their decency, the fate of their eternal souls, and their time management compulsions. It’s never worked. I have not talked a single person off of Twitter." . . . More.

From Golden State to Blackout State

 Foundation for Economic Education

"Reducing greenhouse gases is important but so is energy reliability.  . . . Allowing contracts with these generators to expire based on optimistic projections increases the risks of rolling blackouts."

"California’s energy policies risk blackouts.

"This state is so determined to fulfill its dream of a zero-emissions power grid that it’s willing to risk future blackouts. On paper, California will have sufficient energy resources even with the decision to shutter three aging natural gas generating units. But only if the weather cooperates.

"By the end of 2045, “renewable energy resources and zero-carbon resources” must “supply 100% of retail sales of electricity to California end-use customers and 100% of electricity procured to serve all state agencies” under Senate bill 100 (2018).

"To reach this target and maintain reliability, the state has been pairing solar power plants with battery backup systems. If all works as planned, the solar plants will provide electricity during the day, and the battery backup systems keep the lights on in the high-use evening hours when solar generators go dark.

"As this strategy has been unfolding, policymakers realized more backup reserves were needed to avoid rolling blackouts. Three legacy generating units that were scheduled to be closed in Ormond Beach, Alamitos and Huntington Beach facilities were temporarily extended.

"Now believing California’s battery backup system provides a sufficient buffer, the California Energy Commission has chosen not to renew the contracts for these older units, which will expire at the end of December.

"The retiring gas plants were undoubtedly old and inefficient. Still, Californians may soon miss the lost dispatchable power sources. California Energy Commission Vice Chair Siva Gunda might believe “we’re looking good,” but such optimism requires a sideways look at the facts.

"The state endured the heat of 2026, challenged on Sept. 9 by the largest daily power demand since 2022, without resorting to emergency measures. The governor’s office called it “a major milestone in California’s nation-leading clean energy buildout.”

"Maybe officials have known what they’re doing all along. That’s one way to look at it." . . .

Bored Of Having A Good State, Texas Considers Voting Democrat | Babylon Bee

AUSTIN, TX — Bored of having a good state that people love, Texans have reportedly flocked to the polls in record numbers to try voting Democrat for a change.
"According to sources, voters believe Texas has had it good for far too long. "We're the envy of most states, and everyone wants to move here. I'm sick of it!" said Duke "Big Bull" Clayton. "It's become so dull, having freedom and a growing economy. We need a change of pace, something to really make our lives miserable."
"According to polls, Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico has built a significant lead and the race for governor is now a toss-up. "Texas voters are fed up with their state not being awful," said Democratic operative Sandra O'Dell. "They're ready to send a message to the folks in Austin: make our state really bad. What an exciting time to be a Texan."
"'Ooo, fun!" said Becky Carlyle, a Texas native from College Station. "I've always wanted to see what it would be like if our state was terrible and made you want to flee. Yippee!"
"Incumbent Governor Greg Abbott has continued to campaign hard into the final stretch, as a seemingly surefire race turned into a dead heat. "Texas is a great state and everyone wants to move here," said Abbott at a campaign stop, where he was met with a chorus of boos.
"'Booo! Boo prosperity and low taxes! Boo!" shouted the crowd.
""What is even happening here?" sighed a bewildered Abbott.
"At publishing time, California transplants had reported that Texas was really starting to feel more like home."
