Palin: Duck Dynasty Firing Endangers Free Speech/ What was the Blacklist of the 50s?

Political Cartoons by Steve Kelley
A and E 'Indefinitely' Suspends Duck Dynasty Star for Comments About Homosexuality

Homosexuals Get Duck Dy-Nasty    "When I saw the headline yesterday about how "Duck Dynasty" patriarch Phil Robertson had commented on a certain sexuality-defined group, I wondered how long it would be before he got the "treatment."
"I saw the next headline no more than a few hours later." ...
... "How's that tolerance workin' for ya'?"

Newsmax  "Free speech is an endangered species," Palin wrote on her Facebook page Wednesday beneath a picture of herself posing with the A & E Network's reality stars. "Those 'intolerants' hatin' and taking on the Duck Dynasty patriarch for voicing his personal opinion are taking on all of us."

"On Wednesday, the cable network suspended Robertson indefinitely from its top-ranked show after he compared homosexuality with bestiality in an interview with GQ Magazine."

For Duck Dynasty, Many Options Exist Outside Anti-Christian Hollywood
... "Make no mistake about the anti-Christian leftists in Hollywood, the mainstream media, and GLAAD; the goal here is to put on a bitter Show Trial until A&E caves even further and yanks "Duck Dynasty" off the air. The problem for A&E and the political left, though, is that in today's world, the boys of "Duck Dynasty" hold all the cards.
"What the Left is going to do over the next few weeks is launch a McCarthyistic campaign to toxify "Duck Dynasty" right out of Hollywood. The political left and the media already hated the show for daring to be proudly Southern, proudly Christian, and a monstrous hit; so the bonus of toxifying Christianity as de facto bigotry while killing the show is seen as something of two-fer among this crowd. But whether this anti-Christian jihad is successful or not, it can only backfire." ...
GLAAD Pounces on 'Duck Dynasty's' 'Anti-Gay' Comment, Brushed Off Worse from Alec Baldwin
... "Compare that lightning fast condemnation to GLAAD's muted response to Alec Baldwin's anti-gay outburst back in June:
The group allowed Baldwin to use its web site to apologize and/or attempt damage control, essentially shouting, "you're already forgiven.

Christianity on trial in Duck Dynasty controversy   "Then there is the matter of all the Duck Dynasty merchandise on sale, including clothing, CDs, and other matter, which makes a lot of money for Walmart, Target, and many other retailers. Will gay activitsts demand that it be taken off the shelves? How likely is that to succeed?

"Will cooler heads prevail in the gay community, realizing that Christians ought to be allowed to have their two millennia-old beliefs respected in the public square? That would be the optimal outcome, but I don't really predict it will happen, as things now stand."  Read more:

Remember the Hollywood Blacklist of the 1950s that has been condemned by the most of American society, especially Hollywood?

What was the Hollywood Blacklist?  "The Hollywood Blacklist was a list of professionals who were not allowed to participate in the entertainment industry due to their suspected or confirmed political beliefs. As you might imagine, the Hollywood Blacklist had a profound and far-reaching impact on the entertainment history in the middle of the 20th century, and it continues to be a topic of discussion and debate. Sadly for many of the people included on the Hollywood Blacklist, this largely unofficial blacklist ended the careers of many entertainment professionals, and seriously damaged the reputations of many more."

Hollywood Blacklist  "Altogether some 500 people from the entertainment industry were black or graylisted. The graylist was a supplimentary list of writers and entertainers suspected, sometimes, of no more than lending a name as a "co-sponsor" of an event that was determined to have been "subversive.' "

The Witch Hunt of the 1940-50s  These people were denied employment because of their "real or suspected political associations or beliefs".
