Megan Rapinoe Complains Her National Anthem Protest Was Not Well Received

"U.S. women’s soccer star Megan Rapinoe complained that her national anthem protest was not well received despite her being a “non-threatening” white woman.

"Rapinoe became one of the first white athletes to kneel during the national anthem and subsequently stated, “I’ll probably never sing the national anthem again”.

"Now she’s whining that Americans weren’t impressed by her antics.

“ 'I actually felt like it was going to be received a little better,” Rapinoe told CNN’s Van Jones. “Like, OK, well, woman, white, sort of non-threatening. No, that was not the case.”

"She then reeled off a list of vague justifications for protesting against the anthem.

"“You know mass incarceration’s happening. You know police brutality, you know the history of our country. For me, honestly it was kind of a no-brainer,” she said.

"Rapinoe’s anthem protest may have been better received if she hadn’t behaved like a petulant, obnoxious child throughout and after the Women’s World Cup.

"Rapinoe was caught on video ranting “I deserve this” while holding the World Cup trophy and appears to attempt to make herself the center of attention at every available opportunity.

"The soccer star was also involved in an incident at the end of the final game where the American flag was dropped on the ground."

Well, Democrat Washington Governor Jay Inslee considers Rapinoe Secretary of State material  She would have done well dealing with America's enemies; they'd know there would never be anything to fear from us. Freedom-loving Iranians protesting the Mullah's rule would be on their own like they were when Obama was president. TD

Rapinoe has emerged as one of the most potent symbols of the anti-Trump resistance after she declared that she did not want to go to the “fucking White House” even if her team brought home its fourth World Cup title.

The co-captain has refused to put her hand over her heart and sing the national anthem and made headlines before the World Cup when she kneeled during the national anthem in support of Colin Kaepernick.

Left-wing polling outfit Public Policy Polling actually polled a hypothetical presidential matchup between Rapinoe and Trump. The poll, released this week, had Rapinoe defeating Trump by a percentage point.
