Analyzing America "Barack Obama is facing severe backlash for attempting to link the deadly Texas school shooting in Uvalde, Texas to the death of George Floyd.
"At least 19 children and two teachers were killed this week at Robb Elementary School by an 18-year-old gunman. This is one of the worst mass shootings in U.S. history.
"In response to the attack, Obama used his social platform to link the tragedy to the anniversary of George Floyd’s murder. Two years ao, Floyd was killed while being held under the knee of Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin. Chauvin was later found guilty by a jury for second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter.
"Obama said, “As we grieve the children of Uvalde today, we should take time to recognize that two years have passed since the murder of George Floyd under the knee of a police officer.”
